Rosie, fear etched across her face, stared up at her mother. She clutched Bella's shirt, her knuckles turning paler than they normally were. Her eyes began to blur with tears, but she fought hard to hold them back. Keeping her eyes on her mom, she spoke into Bella's mind. "She doesn't like when I talk like this. But I am a little afraid of her," she admitted, knowing that her godmother would protector. Or hoping, at the very least. Rosie loved her mom, but she didn't like the situations she put her in.

Seeing the fear in Rosie's eyes, feeling her little hands clutch her shirt, and hearing her little voice inside her head, Bella knew that the little girl in her arms was terrified of her mother. Looking to Rosie, she gave her a look of reassurance to tell her that she was not going to let anything happen to her. Bella turned to Alexandra and narrowed her eyes with the determination of a fierce mama bear. "You are not taking this child anywhere with that kind of attitude Lexie," she hissed. "Can't you see that your own child is terrified of you? You do not allow her to use her gifts...that's like denying a part of who she is. Just because you do not understand it does not mean you should put limits on who she is."
Bella held Rosie protectively in her arms and whispered so low that only Rosie could hear. "I won't let her take you sweetie; not when she is angry like this."

Rosie glanced at Bella quickly, then looked back at her mom. It was now or never that she said something, and she figured if she said it now, the sooner her mom would forgive her. It might take a while, but eventually she would. "I'm staying," she said out loud, her voice a tad shaky. "I love you Mom, but you're wrong. And you know it." She loosened her hold on Bella's shirt, mainly so she didn't ruin it with her deathgrip.

Alexandra was appauled by her daughter's actions. "If you don't come with me right now, I'm getting your father. And you know how he'll deal with you." Jasper was strict when it came to manners and respecting authority. If Rosie didn't come with her Jasper would throw a fit and come get her himself. Who knows what her punishment would be.

Rosie didn't know what to do about this. She knew her father, and she knew her mother, but she knew they were wrong. She looked at Bella, not wanting to leave the newfound safety of her arms. But at the same time, she didn't want to put Bella in any danger. She knew that really, her dad had no power over Bella, and that eased Rosie's mind a little. She looked back at Lexie, her expression blank. But she made no move.

Alexandra crossed her arms. "Fine. But don't come running to me when your father deals with you. I won't be there to give you sympathy. You're damn lucky I don't drag you out this second. My mother and father would've done the unthinkable to me in public, not caring what others though." Alexandra turned around and started walking out of the mall. It brought back a lot of memories of her childhood. Her mom and dad would've beat her right there in front of Bella and Renesmee, not caring what they or others thought.

Bella watched and listened as Alexandra threatened her child and knew she was doing the right thing. No child, regardless of if they were half-vampire or not, should be denied the right to be who they were. And Alexandra's response to Rosie's statement cemented that fact in her mind that Alexandra was not the type of mother that should be raising two half-vampire children, much less children at all. Bella held Rosie in her arms, protecting her. "Rosie, I can take you home with me and Nessie right now and you will be safe there," she whispered to the frightened child in her arms as Alexandra walked away, kissing her goddaughter's forhead gently. "Your Uncle Edward and I will never let anything happen to you."
Watching Alexandra walk away, Bella felt sudden concern for Rosie's brother, Edmmett. She knew that if Alexandra were like this with her daughter, who was to say that she did not act this way with her son as well. In her mind, Bella decided to talk to Edward about it as soon as she got Rosie to their home and safe.

Rosie began shaking in Bella's arms. She was scared, and she didn't know what to do. She feared for her brother, herself, Bella... "What have I done...?" she asked out loud, though extremely soft. This was going to cause a lot of trouble for everyone. She should just run after her mom, and save everyone else, but something was stopping her. Something besides Bella's hold on her.

Hearing Rosie's soft voice, Bella shook her head and looked at her godchild as lovingly as possible, shaking her head softly. "You did nothing wrong sweetie," she reassured her. "Nothing is going to happen to you as long as I am here. Your mommy does not understand a part of who you are that you should not have to deny. I promise that you are safe with me." Kissing the top of Rosie's head, she turned around to walk out of the mall, calling to her own child behind her. "Renesmee, we're leaving right now. You don't need to be in this stressful situation, so we are going home. We will figure things out in the car."

Renesmee watched the entire display between her mother, Rosie, and Alexandra...hardly believing that Alexandra would threaten her child the way she did. It was uncalled for. And the fact that she limited Rosie using her powers really made Renesmee angry; her parents had never limited her in that way. If she did not want to talk, she just used her powers to show what she wanted. When her mother stuck up for Rosie, Renesmee was happy. She heard her mother call to her a few moments later to leave and she was glad that they were going. Her own baby was kicking like crazy at the entire situation.
Looking over at Rosie in her mother's arms, she knew that the little one was more frightened than anything because of what just occurred. "Rosie, would you like to feel my baby move?" she asked, hoping it would take her mind off what had just happened at least for a few minutes.

Rosie nodded sadly at Bella, but when Renesmee addressed her, she smiled. "I would like that a lot," she said, nodding. She reached her hands for Renesmee. Rosie liked her. There was something about Renesmee that Rosie could relate to. It was probably the fact that they were both hybrids.

Renesmee moved so Rosie could reach her belly easily, taking her small hand and placing it on the side the baby was kicking on. The minute Rosie's little hand touched her stomach, the baby began kicking and fluttering more. Renesmee giggled, "The baby likes you. It kicks more when it's around people it likes." Looking at Rosie, Renesmee smiled knowing that the little girl in her mother's arms was a lot like herself. They were both hybrids for one and there was something else, probably the fact that both of their powers worked through the mind. More than anyone else, Renesmee understood what it was like to be a hybrid with mind powers.

Rosie felt the baby kick, rapidly, against her hand. She looked up and smiled at Renesmee. There was a sort of magic she felt about it, and it made her happy, even though the situation was sort of bad. It astonishes Rosie how, even in a situation that could possibly be the worst one that she ever faced, there was still something that could make her smile, something that took the bad out. "Your baby is very strong," she said to Nessie. She wondered how she was when Edmmett and her weren't born yet, but she couldn't remember. She knew she'd loved her parents, but that was it. She still did love her parents, but the things they did made her cringe sometimes.

Bella watched while Rosie felt Renesmee's baby move in the womb and smiled, knowing that at least Rosie was a little happy for the moment out of the stressful situation they had just come from. "Rosie, we are going to take you to my house in Forks," she explained softly, walking outside to the car. "When we get there, I'm going to talk to your uncle Edward about this whole situation to see what would be best for you. I promise that we will never let anything happen to you that could hurt you or make you unhappy." And that was as good as a vow in Bella's mind. Her godchild was not going to be in any situation where she was not happy.

Rosie took her hands off Nessie's still pulsing stomach as they got up to go to Bella's car. She listened carefully to what Bella was saying, about keeping her safe and happy. She knew that Bella's husband Edward would know best. They were vampire royalty, after all. Even if her parents tried something, Rosie trusted Bella and Edward and Renesmee to keep her safe. She'd only known them for a short time in her short life, but she felt very comfortable with the two ladies. She didn't know much about them, but they were family, and that is all that mattered.
The thought of family brought a concern to Rosie. "What about my brother?" she asked, looking up at Bella. Edmmett was still with their parents, and it bothered Rosie.
