Bella stopped and unlocked the car, putting Rosie in the backseat with her seatbelt on. Once she was taken care of, she answered Rosie's question about Edmmett. "I'm going to talk to Uncle Edward about that and see what we can do," she promised. "For now, I need to make sure that you are safe and then we will get your brother." In her mind, Bella was already thinking of what the best course of action would be to make sure that both twins would be safe. She knew that what she was doing was probably forever killing her chances of ever reconsiling with Alexandra, but she frankly didn't care. If she was going to be that harsh toward her own child that was exactly that...a child, then she was no friend of Bella's.

This eased her mind only a little. She said nothing. Rosie sat tight in the back seat of Bella's car, wondering what was to become of her, her brother, and her parents. Rosie was still a baby, and she hadn't spent the night away from either of her parents before. Now, her godmother was taking her in, protecting her. Rosie had mixed emotions about everything, but she knew the adults knew what was best. She would try to put on her best smile, and stay positive.

Alexandra got to her car and slid inside. She took her phone out and called Jasper right away. He answered after four rings.
"What's going on? Give up already?" He laughed.
"No, your daughter is refusing to come home. I made the dumbass mistake of letting Bella hold her, then we got into an argument about you and me and Alice and that whole situation and Rosie understood every word of it so she had this death grip on Bella and refused to come with me."
"Whoa, whoa, slow down. Where are you now?"
"In the car. Rosie is with her Godmother going to Forks. Where is Eddie?"
"Sitting on the floor playing with his Lincoln Logs. Why are you letting them take her, Lex? Your her mother, dammit, she's supposed to listen to you now matter what!"
"What would you like me to do Jasper? Beat her ass right in front of everyone?"
"That's what my parents would've done. Children need to learn to respect authority."
"I don't wanted to look like an abusive mother infront of Bella and Ness."
"I'm not saying you have to. I'm tell you, that girl better come home with you or I'll deal with her myself."
Alexandra groaned. "Fine I'll call Bella and tell her bring her to to my car now." She hung up on her children's father. She dialed Bella's number and waited for her to answer.

Bella was just closing the door to the car when she felt her phone going off in her pocket. When she looked at the screen, she saw it was Alexandra and considered not answering it because she was so furious at her, but the more considerate side of Bella took over and she answered the phone, motioning for Renesmee to get into the car. "What do you want Lexie?" she snapped as she answered the phone. The instinctual side of Bella was still right under the surface, waiting to pounce at the first sign of trouble. It was not uncommon for Bella to let this side out more because she was a mother herself to a special child like Rosie.

"I just called Rosie's other parental unit. He demands that she comes home." Alexandra's tone was calm, yet stern. She was not going to put up with this and she did not want to have to punish her daughter, nor did she want to see Jasper do the dirty work.

The more Bella listened to Alexandra, the more angry she got. Restraining herself from yelling in front of an innocent child, she walked away from the car for a few moments and lowered her tone of voice to somewhat threatening. "You can tell Rosie's 'other parental unit' that she is not coming home with anyone other than me right now because I will not allow an innocent child to go into a home that does not allow her to be herself and punishes her if she is." She paused to keep herself from breaking the phone in her hand before continuing. "And I swear to God if you try and come take her from me when she obviously is terrified of you, I will not hesitate to protect her by any means neccessary. You forget, I have been a mother for well over thirty years now and I know how to raise special children like Rosie and Eddie. Look at Renesmee if you want more proof."

"You can bitch at me all you want, but I'd watch what you say around me. First of all, it is only I that does not like Rosie using her powers. Jasper doesn't care at all. We are not abusive parents, just strict about authority. I am her mother. I have a right to her. You do not. How would you like it if someone had taken Renesmee away from you under these circumstances. If she's scared, she can talk to her father." Alexandra was about ready to have Jasper go to Forks and get her himself. This was not going well, and it was frustrating. She could sue Bella for all she had if Rosie didn't go back home where she belonged.

"I am not sending her home with you," Bella said simply. "She is scared of you and she is an innocent child. I refuse to let an innocent child go with anyone she is afraid of, regardless of if that child is their mother or not. Every child deserves to be safe and happy. Rosie is not happy, nor does she feel safe around you." Her tone was still the stern and protective voice of a mother lioness. "And don't you ever think for one second that anyone would take Renesmee from me. Edward and I were good parents to her and allowed her to be herself. So, if Jasper wants to come get her in Forks, then so be it. I'm not discussing this any further." With that, she slid her phone shut and went back to the car, getting in and starting it. Throwing it into reverse, she made her way home to Forks.

When Bella talked to her that way, Alexandra got furious. She was about to speak when the line went dead. Alexandra shriked in anger and agony and put her car in gear, heading for home. She dialed Jasper's number again. He answered immediately.
"I'm heading out the door. Peter and Charlotte are here so they can watch Eddie."
"Get her back here right now! I'm done with Bella! She can do whatever she wants with some other child, but not with mine! She can go fucking die! She thinks she has the right to take my daughter away when no one would dare take Renesmee away from here! Well fuck her! I'm done!"
"Calm down. Just get home and when you do, Peter and Charlotte will be here. I'm on my way to Forks." The line went dead.
Alexandra was in so much fury right now. She deleted Bella's number in her phone and threw it in the back. She drove twenty miles over the speed limit to get home. When she did, Jasper was gone and Peter and Charlotte were there as he'd said. They were building Lincoln Log houses with Eddie. She was relieved that Eddie was happy. His power was different from Rosie's. She respect both of their powers, but the fear of something happening to her caused by her own power scared her. It had happened to Jasper. Why not her?

Bella drove home in record time, making it there in just under an hour. When she got to the cottage, she told Renesmee to take Rosie inside while she went up to the mansion to wait for Jasper. She was not going to allow an innocent child witness a fight between adults, regardless of how mature that child was. Leaving Renesmee to talk care of Rosie, she ran up to the mansion and waited for Jasper to get there, which she knew would be any minute if Lexie had called him right away and she was certain that Lexie had.

This is before he leaves. Jasper made it to Forks in record time. It was amazing how fast someone could drive when trying to retrieve their child. He knew Alexandra met well and understood why she didn't like Rosie using her powers. She didn't want anything to happen to her like it did Jasper. It was understandable.
When he reached the mansion, Jasper got out quickly and stormed up to the house. He knocked continuously on the door. Banging might be a better description. "I know people are home." He said gently, but the anger was in his voice.

Bella got to the mansion and went in the back door just in time to hear banging on the front door. Great...right on schedule, she thought lividly to herself. At least Rosie was not around to witness anything that might happen. She went to the front door and opened it to find Jasper standing there. "You knocked?" she asked in a sarcastically snide way.

Jasper stopped knocking when Bella answered the door. "Where is my daughter? Bella, you have no right to take her away from her mother, no matter what Alexandra does and doesn't let her do. I can't control her. Literally. But if she doesn't like Rosie using her powers, you have to respect that. I personally understand why she's so weary about our daughter using her powers and that's because it affects the mind. I'm amazed that she can even get through to her mother, being that I--her father--can not. Please give her to me. You can't judge me based on Alexandra. I let Rosie use her powers and, hell, Lex doesn't have to know when she's comunicating with me that way." He hoped this would be smooth sailing, but knowing Bella and remembering what Lex has said, it wouldn't be. She had no right to take her in the first place though. She's not a cop or a lawyer or a child services worker.

Listening to Jasper talk, Bella did bring her anger level down a few notches from when she walked in the door. She opened the door a little wider for him to walk inside to speak with her as she began to respond. "Jasper, I understand where you are coming from as a parent, I do. But, you did not see the way Lexie snapped at your daughter. Rosie was terrified of her and that is not a way a daughter should be with her mother," she explained with a calm and level head. "Rosie is with Nessie right now because I did not want her to see anything that might happen in our discussion because she is still just a little girl and needs to be protected from adult conversations that are not appropriate for her."

"Bella, I know how Lexie can get sometimes, but did you ever think that maybe the reason she got angry could've been something else?" Like you and Ness bitching at her? He would suggest his thought in open, although he figured that Bella would already know what he was referring to. "I don't want to argue. Could you please just bring me my daughter so I can go home and spare Peter and Charlotte the horror of Lexie? It would do everyone a lot of good. I promise I won't let Rosie near her until she's fully calmed."
