"Oh," Alexandra said. "Well congratulations." Her words came through a tight smile. She looked at Bella, hoping she would get the expression on her face as being one that was not happy. So it's okay for the little bitch to get pregnant, but when it come to the human, everyone throws a fit!? She decided not to say anything. No need to cause anymore drama than was already happening. |

Renesmee looked at her mother once more before looking back at Alexandra. She could sense the hostility in her forced smile and somewhat sarcastic tone of voice. This was definitely a tense situation that Renesmee did not want to be in right now, nor did the baby in her womb who started to kick rapidly. I know sweetie, she thought soothingly to the baby. Mommy does not like this situation either, but we have to deal with it. Deciding to be as sweet as she could to her former friend, she said, "Thank you. Jake and I were not expecting to have a baby at all, much less one so quickly after getting married." There was something that Renesmee did not like about Alexandra's attitude and it was quickly becoming more apparent as their conversation continued.

Bella almost immediately noticed the hostility in not only Alexandra's tone of voice, but her facial expressions toward Renesmee when she realized that she was pregnant. It was confirmed the minute her daughter looked back at her for reassurance. Not wanting to make a scene, Bella kept holding Rosie in her arms, shifting her from one hip to the other. Stay calm Bella, she mentally warned herself. It will do no good to get angry here where there are tons of people around and this child in your arms. Not to mention your daughter is pregnant and that would not be good for the baby either. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Alexandra obviously did not like the idea that Renesmee was pregnant.

Alexandra cleared her throat. "Well, Bella, you brought me here for a reason. Why don't you plead your case?" She was not going to drop the pregnancy situation completely, but for now--for the sake of everyone else--she would. She calmed her inner self, not making it bvious at all and continued to look at Bella. |

Rosie felt the change of the aura around them. There was a bubble of grudge surrounded by the happiness of the mall. She frowned, looking at her mother. She thought of saying something to her, but thought better of it, knowing she'd say something later. Rosie wasn't familiar with the whole situation she and her brother caused, but that didn't mean she wasn't aware of it. She looked at Renesmee and smiled, talking into her mind. "Congratulations, Renesmee," she said into Nessie's mind.

Bella's attention whipped back to Alexandra when she spoke to her. "I have no case to plead Lexie," she said. "The reason I brought you here was to visit Renesmee." Doing her best to keep her calm, she turned her attention back to Rosie in her arms. The little girl obviously felt the tension in the situation as well, so Bella bounced her up and down a little to keep her calm.

Renesmee was caught completely off guard when she heard Rosie in her mind. She was not aware that the little one even had powers. "Thank you Rosie," she said in a soft tone of voice. There was still the amount of tension in the air that Renesmee did not like. Something about her pregnancy was bothering Alexandra and it was starting to really irritate Renesmee, which normally was not something that happened often as she was normally a calm person.

Alexandra looked at her daughter sternly. "If you have something to say, say it outloud. You know I don't like it when you communicate like that!" She sighed and shook her head, bringing her attention back to Bella. "Well, I'm here. And Renesmee is here. I don't know who should do the apologizing. Me for getting drunk over her uncle, or her for not supporting me." She put her arms behind her back, holding her right wrist with her left hand. |

Renesmee's head snapped toward Alexandra and she raised her eyebrows in shock. "Excuse me?" she asked, glaring at Alexandra. "Why should I be apologizing? Because if I remember correctly, I was not even in the country when all of this happened. I was on this little thing called a 'honeymoon', you know...what you have after you get married?" Taking a breath, Renesmee calmed herself down so the baby would not get too excited and start kicking rapidly again. "And furthermore, why in the world would I stick up for someone who ruined my family and through her actions, hurt one of my favorite people in the world?" Renesmee knew that even though she really did not have one mean bone in her body, but when it came to family...she was protective as a lioness. She had seen what Jasper and Alexandra's actions had done to Alice, so she knew that she could have never defended Alexandra for that, even if they had been friends. Alice was family.
Pressing her hand to the side of her stomach, she tried to sooth the baby once more as it had gotten way too excited, practically doing summersaults in her womb. Breathing deeply, she just rubbed her hand in a circular motion on the side of her stomach. That usually worked in calming the baby down. When the kicking and moving subsided, she was able to breath evenly again.

Bella watched in shock as Alexandra asked who should apologize first, implying that Renesmee had even done something wrong in not sticking up for Alexandra. And then her daughter did the impossible and snapped on Alexandra, which meant that she was really angry and upset. Bella had never seen her daughter snap on someone like that before, not even when she was younger. The way she spoke to Alexandra was so unlike Renesmee that it worried Bella for her daughter and future grandchild's well being. Stepping forward, she placed one hand lovingly on her daughter's arm to sooth her and looked back at Alexandra. "Renesmee has nothing to apologize for," she said, focusing her eyes directly at Alexandra's. "She did nothing wrong in chosing to side with Alice."

"I'm not implying that Renesmee did anything wrong, Bella. But we really bonded on our first day and the least she could've done was been there for me. I really could've used someone, even if all we could've done was talk over the phone." Alexandra's tone was constantly calm. She brought her arms around to the front and crossed them in front of her chest. "I'm sorry if I made you upset. That's not what I was implying, though. And as for Alice, I've apologized to her multiple times, but all she tends to think of me as is a slut. I've said this many times too: If I'd have known that Jasper was married, I'd have never done what I did." |

Renesmee calmed down enough to speak for herself again. "Lexie, while I was gone I didn't even talk to my own parents on the phone. Jake and I put away our phones and just spent time with each other, as it should be when you first marry someone." She took another couple of deep breaths to remain calm and collected enough to not get angry again for Alexandra's comment about the situation with Alice and Jasper. "How would you feel if you came home to find your husband had cheated on you and that woman he cheated with was pregnant?" she asked calmly. "Each time Alice is forced to see you, she is reminded of that and it hurts her. So, can't you understand why she doesn't really want to talk with you at all?"

Alexandra already knew everything Renesmee told her about the Jasper situation. "I know. But I didn't force Jasper to sleep with me. It kinda just happened. If you remember I was passed out. I don't know what affect I have on Jasper, but obviously it makes him go loopy." She rubbed her arm. "I've apologized to Alice many time," she repeated, "And I would've loved if we could've met in the middle with things. She seemed willing to until she called me "a dirty place"." |

Instead of letting her daughter argue herself into early labor, Bella decided to step in herself and say something. "We do not need to rehash old details Lexie. Alice has made her decision about things and is dealing with everything the best way she knows how," she said gently, but firmly. "You just have to let it go that she will never be friends with you, nor will she ever be able to have a civil conversation with you. Let it go and move on." Bella made no apologies for being so blunt because she knew that Alexandra needed to hear it on some level.

Alexandra scoffed. "Okay," she said somewhat sarcastically. "I think it's time for me to go." She reached for her daughter. "Come on Rosie we're going home." So much for Jasper and Eddie's father-son bonding time! She was not going to stand here and be the victim of the situation. She waited for her daughter to come to her. |
