Rose watched as Jasper went into his closest and changed for her. She knew that he would not let her down. When he returned seconds later and made a mother comment she smiled at him. "It is perfect. Thank you Jasper, I don't want to go alone." She said as she followed him out the door and down the stairs. When he asked about driving she smiled. "I was thinking about taking my car." She said to her twin. She loved to drive her convertible and now that it was a classic she liked to drive it even more.
She went to the garage and got in the car. They drove to the party in downtown Forks and she parked the car. When she got out of the car she wrapped her arm through Jasper's and smiled up at her twin. "Are you ready to twirl me around the dance floor, brother?" She said as they walked to the center of the party. She saw Edward and Bella already on the dance floor.

Bella burst into a bright smile as she felt an instant sense of relief that Edward was not disappointed in her. She laid her head back on his chest as she looked up at the twinkling lights. She smiled softly as she thought about the first night she had danced with him at their prom. Though she had not wanted to go in the first place, she was so glad that Edward had encouraged the idea. She laughed as he spoke, Bella love, you can have all the time alone with me that you want. We can spend the entire night on his dance floor.”. She lifted her head off of his chest as she looked back up at him, “If it would not raise suspicion, I would take you up on that offer.” She smirked as she turned her head to look at the random groupings of humans that were dancing around them. She leaned in closer to him as he mentioned her standing on his feet. She gave a small giggle, taking him up on his offer before he could retract it. She looked into his eyes as she stood the tips of her toes onto his feet and pulled herself closer against his chest. She placed her chin on his shoulder as she whispered to him, “ Tonight would be perfect to go to the meadow,” Bella gave a soft smile as she wrapped her arms back around him. She closed her eyes as she held him, not wanting the night to end. Though she knew it was far from over, the thought of leaving the dance floor and the evening ending only reminded her of what they would be returning to right away. At least with this small break from everything she wouldn’t feel as tense throughout all of the chaos that seemed to circle their family.

As it seemed every time that Nathaniel apologized to anyone Bella was quick to say he had no reason to apologize. Nathaniel nodded his head in response with no desire to argue with Bella in the least. A few moments later when Nathaniel said the one thing he could be certain of in life, Bella allowed a small laugh. Before Bella had a chance to say anything she looked past Nathaniel’s shoulder. Just as Nathaniel was going to turn and see what it was he felt someone tap on his shoulder. He turned to see Bella’s husband Edward. Nate politely bowed his head to Edward’s request to cut in, “Of course.” Nathaniel looked to Bella, “Thank you for the dance.”
Nathaniel then stepped out of the way and walked away from the dance floor. Nathaniel sat down under one of the many tents that had been set up and he smiled reflectively as he watched Edward and Bella together. They really were one of the couples that defined a perfect couple, especially in their world that could be so cruel. Their life that was cruel, Nathaniel knew his history well and he knew what Bella and Edward had gone through together and he knew their life had been far from easy.

Christian continued to watch the party going on a mere few feet in front of him. He watched with a small grin as the normal ones, as he called them, enjoyed the celebration. Christian swept his gaze over the party again and this time he found three of his kind standing together under the lights where the dancing was at. He watched as one of the men bowed and walked away leaving the other male to dance with the woman. Christian watched the man leave the dance floor and go to sit down not far from another vampire.
Chris straightened up when he looked to the female vampire and then more specifically to the woman next to her. He took in a deep breath and took in the smells of the food, drinks, and the humans that were gathered, but then Christian took in a scent that was quite familiar to a wet, muggy dog. He tried to force the breath out of his nose to get rid of the smell. “God what is that smell?” Christian stood and abandoned the edge of the alley to walk around the edge of the celebration so that he was distanced from the unfamiliar smell.

Jasper nodded with a small smile as Rosalie mentioned that she wanted to take that car. He knew that Rose loved her car, but he could easily understand that because she had gotten it decade ago. Jasper followed Rosalie down to the garage. A few minutes and one parked car later Jasper was walking arm in arm with Rosalie into the party. Jasper was looking around at the party when he heard Rosalie asking, "Are you ready to twirl me around the dance floor, brother?" Jasper smiled at his sister, “Of course, what other reason would we be here Rose?”
Jasper turned towards the dance floor and just as they reached the floor the song that had been playing ended. He noticed Bella and Edward were already on the dance floor. Jasper gave a small wave with his free hand as the next song began, an extremely upbeat song began ringing out. He turned back to Rosalie with a small smile, “Ready?” As they began to dance Jasper was glad that Rosalie had convinced him to come. He could feel the joy bubbling inside of Rosalie and the others that had gathered for Fork’s birthday party.

Alice smiled and nodded at Lexi. "Well I know that Jacob will appreciate having old members of the Pack home with all that has gone on lately," she said. Her attention was diverted again when Bella and Edward started to spin on the dance floor. Since Bella's transformation into a vampire, it seemed that she enjoyed dancing a little more than she had as a human. And she was genuinely happy that she had. After taking her gaze from her brother and sister, she noticed that Nathaniel had taken a seat not far from her to observe the dance floor as well. For a few more moments, she stayed put as she smelled another vampire close by that she did not know and then heard his comment about the smell and assumed he was referring to Lexi. Alice knew that not every vampire was as willing to set aside differences as her family was.
Turning back to Lexi, she smiled and said, "Excuse me, I'm just going to move over there for a few moments to say hello to a family friend." On that note, she got up and sauntered over to where Nathaniel was sitting. She knew that she had never spoken to Nathaniel, but had heard about him through conversations with her niece and figured it would be polite to introduce herself. "Hi there," she said sweetly. "I don't think we've formally met. I'm Alice and you must be Nathaniel. Nessie told me all about you and how you helped keep her safe." Alice smiled and took a seat next to him, hoping she wouldn't offend or startle him in any way.

Nathaniel smiled as he watched Bella and Edward continue to dance with one another. He truly believed that they were made for one another. If Shakespeare had been there to see them then Nathaniel was quite certain that his old mentor would agree that Edward’s change into the new life had been for Bella. Nate grinned at that thought and no one would need more proof then to see the way that they looked at each other. Nathaniel crossed his arms lightly over his stomach and leaned back against the table as he began to take in the rest of the party. His smile turned into a curios frown when he heard a voice mutter about a disgusting smell. Nathaniel looked across the way to realize that the voice had come from another of their kind, and Nate did not recognize the man in the slightest. Nathaniel watched as he seemed to cause little trouble and looked as though he were trying to get far away from something as he could.
Nate turned back to the dance floor and noticed that there were two vampires dancing out on the floor. He had not met the other two, but Nathaniel could recognize them by their descriptions that they belonged to the Cullen family. His musings were interfered by someone, "I don't think we've formally met. I'm Alice and you must be Nathaniel. Nessie told me all about you and how you helped keep her safe." Nathaniel stood up to properly face the woman who had just introduced herself. “Yes you would be correct, I am Nathaniel. It is a pleasure to meet another member of the Cullen family.” Alice took a seat close to where Nate had been sitting. Once she sat down Nathaniel sat down next to her.

Smiling as Nathaniel stood up to properly greet her, she could definitely tell he was from a different time period. Even though Alice herself was from the early 1900s, she knew that Nathaniel pre-dated her by several centuries just by the way he talked and carried himself. However, she didn't mind it too much because it was a nice relief from the males of the current century. Watching them evolve over the century she had been in this life, she was happy that most of the males in her life were not from about the 1960s onward. "Well it's definitely a pleasure to meet you," she replied. "My family is very grateful to have met you and for all that you have done for us."
Alice momentarily glanced at the dance floor and noticed that Rosalie and Jasper had joined everyone. She smiled that Jasper was at least enjoying himself some, which was improvement over the last few days since his return from Florida and the tumultuous knowledge they had gained in California. Turning back to Nathaniel, she shifted her weight needlessly so that she was facing him. "So, how are you liking Forks so far?" she asked. "I know it's probably vastly different from all the places you've seen and somewhat on the small-scale."

“See that’s awesome, you do have something to go off of.” Lucy said smiling, “Kenzie, Katelyn, and I have taken dancing lessons since we were really little. I’m sure that we could help if you ever want to take up ballet or something else again.” Vanessa smiled. It was something she had been considering for awhile. She actually liked to dance now, unlike back when she HAD to take lessons although she didn't want to. "I might just take you up on that offer." They probably could help alot. Watching Lucy now, Vanessa knew that she knew her stuff. She was really good.
Seeing Lucy look around, Vanessa asked the first question that popped to her mind "Is Katelyn coming?\?" Surely, Lucy would want to spend time with Katelyn also. and vanessa didn't want to be a Lucy hog.

Nathaniel smiled politely when Alice said that it was a pleasure to meet him. Alice then said how grateful her family was for everything that he had done. Nathaniel chuckled and bowed his head to Alice, “As I have told your sister and brother, it was a pleasure. And an honor that I feel will be repeated in the future.” He looked out at the dancing and the others milling about and how they seemed to simple enjoy each other’s company. There for a few moments Nathaniel wished for a simpler life then what he had been given. That was why Nathaniel did not stop a laugh when Alice asked how he was enjoying Forks and said that it had to be different then what he was used to. Nathaniel smiled as he answered Alice, “In truth I must admit there is a certain charm to this town, and how easy life is here.”
Nathaniel glanced around to make sure that everyone was wrapped up in something before he turned to face Alice, “With no intention of dating my self, but after spending three centuries in the big cities of Europe, places like Forks have been the place for me the last century. But you are right Forks is different from anywhere that I have ever lived.” Nathaniel looked back to where he had seen the male vampire that he did not recognize but he seemed of have slipped into the crowd. He turned back to Alice so that he would not seem rude and grinned, “Although I must say that there were many villages in Italy that are surprisingly similar.”

Lucy nodded when Vanessa said that she might take her up on the offer to dance. “Well you better, I bet you anything that if Kate finds out about your so called lack of dancing skills she’ll kidnap you.” She laughed hoping that Vanessa would easily see through her joke. The truth was that Katelyn would get ecstatic for the chance to teach someone how to dance, or help them remember. From what Lucy could tell so far was that Vanessa seemed to be doing just fine. Lucy smiled to herself as she got into the song. “Hmm?” Lucy then realized that Vanessa had asked about Katelyn but Lucy waved and shook her head. “Oh yeah she said she was going to; I wouldn’t be surprised if she wasn’t here already.” Lucy was having a blast and she knew that it was only a matter of time before Katelyn or Kenzie appeared.

Alice laughed at Nathaniel's response to her question. She had always taken into account how easy their life was in Forks. Blending in was never a problem as it was always cloudy or raining in Washington, so the humans would have never suspected that vampires were living among them...well Bella being the one exception to that rule thirty years previous. Everything was too perfect for them to be able to fit right in. Carlisle had his position at the hospital and their home was located outside of the city limits, so that no one really bothered them out of respect. Either that or general superstition of the Cullen family itself. Whatever the reason, they had tons of privacy.
Allowing another smile to pass her lips, she nodded to Nathaniel about his observance that Forks was like a few smaller villages in Italy. "I know that I haven't seen much of Italy outside of the Volterra," she commented, keeping her voice low so that humans couldn't hear, "but I do know that if they are anything like the villages around England, they must be beautiful and very quaint, just like Forks." Alice thought back to her time in England and sighed momentarily. England had been an escape for her and a new adventure. "So," she began again, focusing back to Nathaniel. "How long are you intending to stay around here? I know that most vampires tend to just pass through, but we do occasionally have visitors that stay around."

Nathaniel nodded his understanding when Alice said that she had not seen much of Italy, beside the Volterra. That brought back memories for Nate of the time that the Volturi had run the vampire world. It had been a peaceful time for the most part, that is until Bella joined their world. It was not a secret among the vampire world what had happened the day that the vampire leaders had come to Forks. Even more well known was the day that Nathaniel remembered hearing that the Volturi were gone. Nathaniel listened in again Alice, "but I do know that if they are anything like the villages around England, they must be beautiful and very quaint, just like Forks." Nathaniel nodded his head with a smile, “Very much so.” He then remembered some of the things from Nessie’s past when he had touched her arm all those days ago when Will had tried to kill her.
One of the things that Nathaniel remembered was a day that the woman before him, Alice, had left Forks to go to England to think out some difficult things. Nathaniel realized that his silence could be rude but he did not seem to miss anything as Alice asked if he would be staying in Forks. “I would imagine that there are many that pass through. But as per my own choice, and at the request of your sister Bella I will be remaining in Forks for quite some time. I have a feeling that I will be the family guard dog for awhile longer.”

Katelyn sat at her table for a while longer, observing everyone on the dance floor. There were a few couple dances in between the techno, country, and rap songs that played from the DJ table. Katelyn scrunched her nose, knowing she had to grin and bear through the rap songs that were played. If it was one thing Katelyn could not really stand, it was hardcore rap that had no real beat or purpose. If it was just a bunch of words strung together just to be strung together, Katelyn saw no point behind it. It was just irritating. However, she endured it just long enough to catch a glimpse of Lucy out on the dance floor with Vanessa.
Sighing in relief, she immediately ran over to her best friend. "There you are!" she exclaimed exasperately as she threw her arms around Lucy in an embrace. "I thought for sure you would have been with Kaleb or something, then I would have had to endured this entire thing stag because I know Kenzie is for sure coming with Jon tonight." Katelyn laughed and let go of Lucy. It was great to see one of her best friends there because it meant that she was no longer the lone little duck sitting in the pond.

Alice giggled as Nathaniel refered to himself as the family's 'guard dog'. She had never heard it phrased in that way, even if they were referring to the Quileute wolves that guarded the La Push lands and even the lands in Forks. "Well I wouldn't exactly put it that way," she said, giving him a genuine smile. "You are more a Protector than a guard dog." Alice hated for anyone to feel inferior to her family just because they happened to be the Royal Family. It was the last thing that she wanted and she was certain her brother and sister felt very much the same way she did.
"You know," she continued on a completely different thought path, abandoning her previous one. "It's been so long since we've had any kind of party around here." And she knew it was true. For Alice Cullen, Queen of all party planning, to say that meant it was serious. In fact, she couldn't really remember the last party she had thrown. Although she was enjoying herself at the Forks Celebration, she was longing to throw a party of her own just for fun. "I think that this is the most fun I've had in months," she chimed. "What about you Nathaniel? Did you ever really go to parties in Europe?"
