Edward listened to his brother as the thought and talked to the rest of the family. Edward wished that he could be there for Jasper more than he was, but Edward was not sure how to better consol his brother. Their family was just starting to mend and it was going to be a long road to get back to were they used to be. Edward knew that they could never forget and go back but hopefully they could get close to where they were before Lexie. Edward looked from Jasper to Bella and knew that his wife was having trouble dealing with her part in this mess. He knew that she was the most critical on Jasper in the beginning, but she was only trying to protect Alice. Edward was lost in his own thoughts until he heard Rosalie mention the twins. He knew that was going to be a difficult subject for Jasper to talk about. Edward waited for Jasper and know that Rosalie was right. Edward listened as Jasper said that he did not know what to do about the twins.
Edward thought about the options for a moment before he spoke. He knew that they needed to decide what to do about the twins and it was obvious that Jasper was not going to be able to make the decision by his self. Edward wanted to help his brother in any way that he could. "There are several option for the twins." Edward said as his looked at his wife. He knew that they had raised their daughter and were in their years together with out children, but they had the room at the cottage. "Bella and I could take them to raise, after all we are still their god parents." Edward said to Jasper. No matter how he felt about Lexie, he and Bella had agreed to be god parents.

Jasper glanced at the others as he said he was unsure of what to do with them. As Jasper thought to himself the fact that the twins knew him as their father continued to play in his head. They had also been cursed with an evil mother that had gotten off lightly as far as he was concerned. Jasper knew that the twins were innocent and that they deserved to be treated fairly. Edward was the first to break the silence that had covered the room, he offered for Bella and himself to take care of the twins. "Bella and I could take them to raise, after all we are still their god parents." Jasper quietly listened at what Edward was offering. He sighed in his own thoughts at what this meant, Jasper would essentially be giving the twins over to Edward and Bella to raise.
Jasper could easily admit that they both knew more about children then he did, and frustration from the situation began to wash over him. Jasper fought back into focus and shook his head slightly at Edward. “With due respect Edward, you and Bella may be known to them as their god-parents, but to them I am their father. I don’t know if there is anything aside from me continuing to be their father. And I have no idea what to tell them about their mother.” Jasper ran a hand through his hair as he continued to think through what could happen.

Rosalie listened to both her brother's as they talked about options for the twins. She knew that this was going to be a hard decision for her twin, but that it was one that needed to be made. As she listened to Edward offer for him and Bella to raise the twins, and Jasper say that he would continue to raise them, she had an idea that would possible be the best decision to make in regards to the twins. She knew that Edward was right about him and Bella as well as she and Emmett being the god parents of the twins, but she also knew that Jasper had a point in the fact that the twins still believed that he was their father. She thought more about her idea and finally decided to voice her thought. "Jasper, I know that this is a hard decision to make and maybe we are going about it the wrong way. We are trying to make a decision that will affect the twins. Why don't we tell them the truth and let them make the decision for themselves, instead of us trying to make the decision?" She said to her twin.
She knew that the twins would be able to understand what was going on and be able to make the decision that was best for them. If she had learned anything from Nessie is was that the half vampire children were brilliant and could make adult decisions at a young age. She knew that they would be able to make the decision that was best for them. "Of course we should give them to option to stay with the family and let us raise them as a family, but in the end it should be their decision if they want to stay or to leave." Rosalie said the everyone in the room.

Jasper looked to his twin and saw that she like everyone else seemed deep in thought. He thought to himself for a few moments again about all of the options that he could come up with. Those ideas without considering the thought that the twins would eventually have to know what happened to their mother. Obviously when they were older they would have to know everything that happened, if they did not know already. Jasper looked up when Rosalie spoke, "Jasper, I know that this is a hard decision to make and maybe we are going about it the wrong way. We are trying to make a decision that will affect the twins. Why don't we tell them the truth and let them make the decision for themselves, instead of us trying to make the decision?"
Jasper thought about what Rosalie had just suggested and what it could mean. Initially Jasper thought that the twins were far too young to understand what had happened much less decide what they wanted to do with their lives. However he was once again forced to remember that he had been gone about six months and that the twins would be older, and bigger then he could rembmer. Jasper also remembered the days in which Nessie was growing up and how quickly she had grown, and developed. He nodded to Rosalie and glanced at the others, “I haven’t seen them in months, so I suppose that everyone else would know better if the twins could handle knowing the truth. But I think that they would be old enough to understand. Based on Nessie‘s growth of course.”

Edward thought about what Jasper said about not seeing the twins in months and that seemed strange, since Jasper was the one that brought the twins home. Edward realize then that Jasper would not have been paying that much attention to how much they had grown and more on getting them some where safe. Edward knew all to well how smart hybrid children were. Edward had watched as Nessie matured at an amazing rate and her intelligence was off the charts.
"I think that is an excellent idea. We should include them in a decision that could change their lives." Edward said to Jasper. He knew that he needed to support his brother. Edward still felt bad for not supporting him in the beginning. "I know that we can make a decision that is right for everyone." He said as he turned to Bella.
