Standing outside of the door, Alice hesitated for a moment. This room used to be her and Jasper's once upon a time. The room where they had spent many a time just being together and looking out into the woods talking. Where she had spent countless hours planning parties and other things, while Jasper had watched and waited patiently. Jasper had always been patient with her, even when others found her obcessive planning behavior annoying and irritating. He had never said anything to the contrary. And when she was done, they had always spent time together. Alice fought back the urge to run away again so that she would not have to hurt this much standing in front of that room. She felt ashamed that it was so hard for her to just stand in front of the room that was hers and Jasper's, but at the same time she knew why it was so difficult.
Closing her eyes, she brought up another memory. It was one that happened not too long after Bella had joined the family and things settled down after the Volturri attempted to obliterate their family, but failed. Alice had been sitting in their room, working on designing a new dress for Rosalie when Jasper came in. His eyes were a soft golden color, indicating that he had hunted recently. Alice loved when his eyes were that color. They reminded her of his warm personality that only she really saw. She had smiled at him before he stepped forward and handed her a single red rose and swooped her into his arms. "Where are we going?" she had asked inquizzitively. "That is a surprise," he replied devilishly. From there, he jumped out their window and began to bolt through the forest. He ran for a long while before stopping and gently putting her back down on her feet. When she looked around, they were on the edge of a cliff on the tip of Washington. There was a lighthouse in view and the sun was just setting behind it. Turning to her husband, he took her hand and led her to a place to sit down and she leaned against his chest as they watched the sunset.
The memory faded into the present and Alice was still standing in front of the door. Taking a small step, she pushed the door open and held her breath. Everything in the room looked exactly the same as it did when she left it months prior. Nothing had been moved or touched. Slowly walking in, she looked around at all the things that reminded her of Jasper. His scent, mixed with her own, filled the room. She had never noticed how sweet their scents were mixed together until now. Standing in the middle of the room, she sighed and wished there was some way to erase all that had happened over the last six months and make it go back to the way it used to be. She walked over to the bay window and stared outside to the forest. Nothing could ever go back to how it used to be and she knew that, but she at least had to hope for the future. Not able to take being in that room any longer, Alice opened the window and lept to the forest floor below before taking off at full speed. Everything whipped by her until she was far enough away to stop. Standing in the middle of the forest, she wanted to cry. She wanted to but couldn't.
A few moments later, she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. Taking it out, she was shocked to see a text message from Jasper; the very last person she expected to text her. Her heart pulled in her chest and she debated what to do. Edward and Bella had both told her that she needed to talk to him and Edward said it was for a very pertinent reason. Part of her was not ready to face him yet, but she knew that it had to happen. Taking a deep breath, she turned around and ran back to the mansion, walking in the front door to see Rosalie and Jasper waiting. Alice closed her eyes momentarily to compose herself before coming all the way in. Jasper's scent hit her like a wrecking ball, but she set that aside. "You wanted to talk to me?" she asked softly, keeping her distance a little.

After several extremely tense moments Alice finally entered into the mansion living room. Jasper saw that it took some time for Alice to adjust to things and he could feel her emotions rolling around inside of her. It was almost to the point where it was making Jasper motion sick. Jasper then realized that he was becoming side tracked with what he needed to tell Alice. He had no idea how she was going to react and Jasper was once again glad that Rosalie was with him, even if she was standing in the background. It was where Jasper needed her and he knew that he could depend on Rosalie when he would need her. Jasper tried to form the right words that would prepare Alice for the massive news that she had for him but they did not seem to fit.
Jasper then remembered what Rosalie had said to him in the clearing about being an older Jasper that would know what to do. The old Jasper would not beat around the bush or stutter, he would face the situation head on and take whatever came his way. With a determined sigh Jasper turned to face Alice, “Yes there is something that Rosalie found out from Lexie when we were in Baja.” Jasper held his breath to prepare Alice and himself, “Lexie told Rosalie that the twins are not my children. They were fathered by a vampire that Lexie had been going to meet at a local bar.” Jasper was not exactly sure if he had made his point or if Alice had even heard him. Jasper looked Alice in the eye and tried to hide his pain that he still felt at what this news meant, "Alice it means that I never cheated on you."

Standing in the center of the living room for several very tense moments. It seemed like Jasper was looking for the words to speak to her with, so she waited very patiently. All the while, it kept hitting Alice over and over that Jasper was standing less than five feet from her. His scent was the same as it had always been since the moment they started their life together over a century before. It was a mixture of leather and the forest, if that were even a scent you could mix. However, it was distinctly Jasper to Alice. Nothing or no one even came close to that smell for her. Standing there, she tried to fend off as much of her pain as possible so that he could not feel it as much. And then he dropped the atomic bomb on her.
Alice stood there, wide-eyed and her mouth open in disbelief. Everything she had believed for the last six months of her life was a lie. The two children that Lexie gave birth to in their very house did not belong to Jasper. "Wha...what do you mean?" she managed to ask in between trying to process everything in her head without falling to pieces. "You mean...you never...with Lexie?" The words coming out of her mouth were not making exact sense to anyone who did not know her, but she knew that they would make perfect sense to Jasper. Alice took several deep breaths, even though they were unneccessary, just so she could calm herself down. She began to wring her tiny hands in front of her anxiously. Everything she had known was once again pulled from under her.

To Jasper it felt as if time had frozen while he was waiting for Alice’s reaction to his news. He had broken down the risks of what would come along with telling her this news and there were a lot of scenarios that did not leave things in his favor. Jasper was once again reminded that Rosalie was there as well and if anything went wrong then she would be able to help him with anything he needed. Just as this thought crossed his mind Jasper was slammed by the shock that exploded from Alice. Alice stuttered out her questions he knew that she was trying to wrap her head around the information. She seemed to have trouble digesting everything but managed to ask that he had never been with Lexie. Instead of forming the words that were in his mind, ‘Yes I was right, I never cheated on you, we divorced for no reason, and you are about to marry a man that isn’t me.’
Jasper could only nod knowing that the simple nod showed that he had never done anything out of the impossible, and that they should still be together. The thought that killed him most was the one he silently thought to Alice, ‘And I still love you.’ Jasper felt Alice’s anxiety mounting as he watched her wring her hands in front of her. He patiently waited as Rosalie had with him for anything that could come from Alice. Jasper did have to give Alice credit she was not having the same reaction that he had when Rosalie gave him the news and he was not sure what would happen if Alice had a meltdown.

The nod from Jasper confirmed Alice's assumption that he had never slept with Lexie. How is this...why...I don't know what to do... Her thoughts were going in ninety different directions and wrapping in circles as she tried to comprehend what had just happened. Looking pitifully into Jasper's eyes, she tried to think of some words to say to Jasper but nothing was really coming. All that she wanted to say would be overwhelming to say all at once. I was wrong in doubting you. I want to kill Lexie myself for lying and causing all of this pain. I still love you; so much that it hurts.
Instead, Alice pushed everything in her mind away and focused on trying to put words to her feelings. Looking down at her hands, she suddenly realized that if Jasper had not cheated on her...she had no right to divorce him. And suddenly her stomach sank. She realized that she had been the one to cheat. Even though she was divorced from Jasper, it still went against their marriage vows to love and devote herself to Jasper and Jasper only. An intense wave of guilt hit her and she wanted to cry; so much so that she turned away from Jasper so that he would not see the guilt written across her face. "How could she do that to us?" she managed to ask in a whisper.

Jasper waited as Alice seemed to digest what she had just learned. So far her shocked self was taking it better then he had. Thinking of the less then appropriate temper tantrum he had Jasper almost flinched, and he hoped that when he talked to Esme that she would be understanding. She was someone else that Jasper had missed while he was trapped in Florida; hell he had missed his entire family. Alice’s movement brought Jasper out of his trance as he saw her looked down to her hands. ‘Oh shit.’ Jasper tried to mentally brace himself as he saw the wheels slowly begin to stop as Alice finally understood that he had never cheated on her. He did not need to see the look on her face to know that Alice was feeling guilt.
Like the weak link in the family that Jasper knew that he was; Jasper was taken over by Alice’s emotions of guilt, along with his own hurt for causing Alice to feel that way. Before he had any chance to react Jasper began to crumble to the floor, much as he had with Rosalie over a week ago.

Rosalie was still in the shadow's trying to be there for Jasper, but also not make Alice uncomfortable. Rosalie knew that she brother needed her for moral strength and that was what kept her close. Rosalie was watching Jasper for any signs of distress. She saw him when he started to crumble, after Alice had turned her back on him. Rosalie rushed to her twin's side and caught him. She when down on her knees to the floor with him. She was there trying to sooth him and give him strength. "It's ok, Jasper. I am here with you, like I promised." Rosalie said in a low voice to him as she stoked his hair.
Rosalie looked up at Alice's back and that was it. "Damn it, Alice! Do you think that you could control your emotions just a little better. Jasper is to weak to deal with them. He can not calm you or control the emotions that you are causing in him." Rosalie said as the stared harshly at the back of Alice's head. Rosalie knew that Alice should have known better than to let Jasper fell her emotion's. He were already enough to cripple him.

Alice bit back a wave of emotions, trying to hold back. I'm the cheater... she cried in her head over and over again. The guilt rolled over her like a tidal wave crashing over a small sail boat in the middle of the ocean. Alice knew that Jasper had fallen apart behind her, but she was afraid to turn around and look in fear of what it might do to her. Her emotions were already unstable as it is, but she knew it would tear her apart to see Jasper like that. Alice closed her eyes and tried to focus on not hurting so much. Her heart was breaking into a million tiny pieces, but she tried to hide it.
However, when Rosalie began to quip at her for her emotions, Alice knew that she could not hold it back any longer. Rosalie had no right to tell her what she should and should not do, especially given that she was not the one who just learned that her husband had not really cheated on her. However, the anger rising in her was sniped by the overwhelming emotions that were directed at Jasper. Sighing, Alice turned back around and walked over to Jasper, gently kneeling at his side. "Jasper, look at me," she said, placing one hand tenderly on the side of his face, eying Rose to let her know that she was taking over. Looking back into Jasper's eyes, she saw glimpses of the man who was her husband. "I am so sorry. For everything that has happened. None of it was your fault," she softly whispered. "Lexie lied to us, to you especially. I cannot blame you for that." Alice looked gently into Jasper's eyes and tried to push away her own emotions for his sake.

Instead of crashing to the floor like he had expected Jasper was caught quickly by Rosalie who lowered him to the ground. Just like she had promised his twin was there for him and Jasper could never have been more grateful to her. Jasper could faintly hear Rosalie harshly reprimanding Alice for her powerful feelings. The feelings began to ebb away slightly enough so that Jasper could open his eyes and focus on the world going on around him. Anger stabbed inside of him coming from Alice and he could only assume that it was directed at Rosalie or herself since he was cradled on the floor. A few moments later the stabbing pain was removed and he saw Alice coming towards him. Jasper closed his eyes desperately pleading, ‘Don’t touch me Alice, please remember, do not touch me.’ Unfortunately his mental pleading went unanswered as she told Jasper to look at her.
Jasper could feel her cool hand on the side of his face an instant before the feelings she had been trying to control ripped fresh holes into Jasper. By no control of his own Jasper felt himself shutter and his body begin to fold in on itself to get away from the sudden assault. He could almost hear Alice’s voice somewhere in the background trying to say something but Jasper was too busy trying to focus on his sanity rather then what Alice was trying to console him with.

Rose was still holding Jasper when she felt the fresh shock wave the rippled through him when Alice touched him. Rose knew that the feeling that Alice felt were passing through Jasper and that he was having trouble coping with them. "Alice, you have to control yourself. Jasper can not handle your emotions, right now. Can you see that you are hurting him?" Rose said to her in a slightly less harsh voice than before. Rose knew that they both still loved each other, but that Alice was to emotional to be around Jasper, unless she could control it. "Jasper, it's okay. Just listen to my voice and concentrate on that. We will get though this together, remember those words!" Rosalie whispered to Jasper. She was not going to leave him like this and Alice could just deal with it. Rosalie was Jasper's twin and she was not leaving her twin, without protection and strength.

Alice almost immediately regretted touching Jasper as he completely fell to pieces again. She had forgotten how much touching him would intensify the emotions she was feeling. She recoiled from touching him, but remained on the ground. The last thing she wanted to do was cause him more pain, which she was obviously doing by being there. "I'm sorry..." she said, looking apologetically from Rosalie to Jasper. "I didn't even think about touching him." Alice forced herself to not think about her own emotions right then, pushing them aside. Instead, she thought of something else to bring a different emotion for Jasper to feel. She thought of shopping, which was vapid and shallow, but it brought a happier emotion to the top of her mind. Letting that emotion settle and spread, she hoped it would ease his pain. More than anything, she didn't want him to suffer needlessly.

Jasper could faintly hear Rosalie whispering to him and he desperately wanted to hear his twin. Rose had stopped speaking for a moment and just when Jasper thought he lost his focus again he could faintly hear Rosalie encouraging him. He desperately clung to her words that had become his life raft at that moment. After being thrown around the hurricane of emotion everything began to slowly ebb away as Jasper realized that Alice had removed her hand from his face. He opened his eyes to see Alice kneeling in front of him and he could feel Rosalie holding him. He could hear Alice apologize and say that she had forgotten. Jasper could feel himself ready to snap at her for being so foolish when he felt calmer a few moments later.
Alice must have been thinking of something else because he could still feel her previous emotions but they were being muted by a feeling of mild bliss. Jasper felt his body convulsions slip away and he was finally able to sit up on his own, not yet ready to risk the chance of falling over again. Knowing that self torture would not do anyone in the room good Jasper closed his eyes and focused on everything that Alice was feeling. He took it into himself before sending it away and replacing it with a sense of calm. Immediately Jasper felt the difference and he was able to focus again as he tried to remember what all Alice had said while he had been crumbled on the floor.

Rose watched as Alice pulled away from Jasper. Rose stay where she was with him in her arm. Rose knew that Jasper was not strong enough yet. She did not try to move until he was ready. When Jasper sat up beside her, she looked at him to make sure that he was okay. "Are you okay, Jasper?" She asked as she turned to face him. Rose was not worried about Alice, she was only worried about Jasper. Alice should have known better than to let her emotions get out of control.
Rose stood up and reached out for Jasper's hand to help him up, though she knew that he did not need help. They were vampires and moved the fluid and grace. "Alice, I know this is alot to absorb. I was stunned when Lexie told me, but you have to watch her emotions, Jasper can not handle his own right now, much less everyone else's." Rose said as she walked back to where she was standing before Jasper collapsed. She knew that he needed to talk to Alice and that Alice needed to be honest with herself and with him, but Rose would not let Jasper collapse like that again. If he got weak again she would end it and she would do all the talking. After all, she was the one that Lexie told in the first place.

Jasper turned to his twin when she asked if he was already and nodded, “For now.” He could feel anger rising from Rosalie and knowing her it was most likely directed at Alice. He knew that Rosalie was more than irritated for Alice’s mistake for touching the side of his face. Rosalie stood a few moments later and offered her hand to help him back to his feet as she spoke to Alice, "Alice, I know this is alot to absorb. I was stunned when Lexie told me, but you have to watch her emotions, Jasper can not handle his own right now, much less everyone else's." Jasper then sent a mental thanks to his twin for saying the words his could not as he used her offered hand to get to his feet.
The way that Rosalie was speaking he could tell that she was on edge, and that the raised emotions could not last long before she interfered. Jasper looked between his sister and his ex-wife for a moment and turned to Alice, “Maybe you should hear the rest of the story from Rose. Lexie confessed to her rather than me so she can give you the full story. Jasper turned to Rosalie and waited for her to begin he spoke again, “Rose do you want to get the rest of the family here so that the story needs to be told only once?”

Rosalie listened as her twin spoke to her and then Alice. When Jasper asked if Rosalie would tell the story, she knew that he was giving in to his emotions and wanted her to finish. "I think that getting the rest of the family is a good idea, that way I don't have to repeat myself." Rosalie said as he looked back at Jasper. She knew that the road ahead was going to be hard for him to travel, but she would be there to support him. "I will tell everyone together, what Lexie told, me." Rosalie said as she looked to Alice, for a moment. Rosalie know that Alice was hurting and that she was most likely in shock, but that still did not help Jasper any. Rosalie pulled out her phone and for the second time in under two weeks, she sent a text to the rest of the family."[/b]
"Everyone is needed at the mansion. ASAP!" - Rosalie
Rosalie closed her phone and walked over to the couch to sit and wait for the others. Rosalie knew that once the rest of the family knew the truth, that things would start to change again. Rosalie had already told Emmett, but she knew that he would be here anyway. Rosalie wanted to see him. She missed her husband, and knew that soon Jasper would be strong enough that she could send time with Emmett and Maden. Rosalie had not seen her son in months now. Rosalie turned back to Jasper and Alice. "I sent the message so now we just wait for them to come home." Rosalie said in a much calmer and even tone.
