Dr. Foster and Dr. Brooks exchanged a glance. "Well, we could fry his brain, giving him complete memory loss," Dr. Foster explained as Dr. Brooks stepped out of the room. "When and if he wakes up he won't even remember his own name, much less the fact that he's a vampire. It would be like he was a newborn again. But we'd prefer not to use this method because we've killed vampires trying to do this before."

Evan looked at Dr. Foster as she explained the option of frying Jasper's brain, knowing that it was not going to be an option in the slightest. "I don't think that it would do any good to make someone relive their first days of being a vampire," he said. "It would be a terrible thing that he might not ever come out of." Evan got up and started pacing the room slowly, trying to think of what to say. The little he knew about Jasper told him that starting over was not something he would want to do and neither would his family. Despite all that had happened, they still cared about their brother, uncle, and son. "And think of his family. They miss him dearly, especially his twin sister and niece."

Dr. Foster crossed her arms. "Really? Well it doesn't sound like they miss him. He makes it seem like they abandoned him in his time of need. Which we believe him." Usually patients weren't that convincing, but when it came to this case, Melinda and Gabrielle were drawn in by everything.

Shaking his head, Evan stopped pacing and looked at Dr. Foster. "They did not abandon him; he chose to leave without giving any warning other than a letter," he said calmly. "That letter almost caused his niece to go into premature labor, so I do not think that they were the ones who did the abandoning. And then he abandoned his children." That was one thing that Evan did not appreciate was men who skipped out on their children like that. In his mind, it was not right and he could never do such a thing, regardless of how those children came about into the world. However, he kept those opinions to himself.

Dr. Brooks returned. "He's stablized. You can bring him down there."
Dr. Foster said, "Thank you Gabrielle." She turned to Evan. "I'm sorry about his niece, but what I was referring to was the fact that they'd abandoned him before the fact. When Alexandra was pregnant with Rosabella and Edmmett. The only reason Isabella stood beside them was because she'd been through it before." She gestured with her hand towards the door and started to walk. "Jasper said he left for answers and because he couldn't stand looking at his wife without looking at his own mistakes. Everywhere he looked he saw Alice. He had to leave."

Following Dr. Foster, Evan replied, "While I cannot speak for the actions of his family during that time, I can definitely say that they were all in shock at what was happening; that something that horrible could happen. And I know Bella very well, so I know that she really was put in the middle of everything." He walked through the door and into a hallway as he continued to follow Dr. Foster. "As far as Alice is concerned, she should not be held accountable for anything because none of this was her fault. When she came to London, she was never once unfaithful to Jasper," he explained. Evan loved his fiancee dearly and wanted to make very clear that their relationship did not start until Alice had ended her's with Jasper.

From what Dr. Foster knew, most of this was true. "I understand that. But from Jasper's memories that we've been able to observe and note on, I think the family brought this on him. Please forgive me, but this is just my professional opinion. I've observed every moment of his memory from the past several months and he was perfectly willing to do what Alexandra told him when it came to leaving the kids to her. And out of the pressure from his family.....he went for it and everything fell apart at that decision. And the decision to give his wife a divorce."
Dr. Foster stopped at a cellar door and put in the security code. The door slid up quickly, like a door from the Star Wars movies, and inside laid Jasper, hooked up to a monitor. His eyes were closed. He was still in recovery from his latest test.
"I'll give you this warning: If you upset him you will not be welcome back here. When he blows up there is no stopping him. The first time we had to try to stablize him, two of our other doctors were injured in the process." Dr. Foster left the hallway, leaving Evan to speak with Jasper.
Jasper was half-asleep on the drug that Dr. Brooks had put him on. He was barely aware of what was going on and he was part delusional.

Evan chose to ignore the rest of what Dr. Foster said about the family inducing Jasper's condition. Memories were skewed to what the person wanted them to be anyway, in Evan's opinion. Everyone's memory of the situation would play out differently if seen by a viewer. However, he did nod at Dr. Foster's warning of not upsetting Jasper. That was not something he intended to do at all. He walked into the room where Jasper was lying and came to his side, standing there for a few moments knowing that Jasper was still mostly drugged up. Evan had only ever seen one other vampire this drugged up and that had been himself several years back, just after his transformation. He knew it was not a pleasant experience either, so loud sounds would probably bother him. "Jasper," he said in a softer tone of voice. "It's Evan. Can you hear me?" He thought a simple question would be easiest to begin with.

Jasper stirred, still on the drug. He was getting his hearing back. Everything around him was fuzzy. Even in vision. He was very delusional. What's going on? he thought.
He heard a familiar voice that made him anger inside. Evan. What the hell is he doing here?! "What do you want? Shouldn't you be planning your "wedding"?" he asked, his tone disgusted on the last word. He tried to sit up, but didn't.

Evan knew without even touching Jasper that he was angry at the very site of him, which was understandable in his mind. "Whoa, I come in peace," he said, backing away from Jasper just in case he decided that he could get up and pounce. "There is no reason that our conversation has to be hostile." And Evan spoke the truth. He was not there to threaten Jasper in any way; he only wished to speak with him and needed to make that clear so Jasper wouldn't jump him for no reason other than he did not like him.

Jasper, still drowsy, but quickly recovering, sat up all the way. He put his hand over his eyes like a sun visor, despite no sun. He rubbed his temples and moaned. "I feel like shit." He moaned again, this time in slight pain.

Watching as Jasper sat up, Evan could empathize with how he felt completely. Coming out from under drugs like that was hell. He remembered exactly what it felt like with precise memory. Evan's words to describe it was like being dropped on his head from the highest building in the middle of the largest city in the world. "That should wear off in a few minutes," he said. "The medication they have you on is pretty powerful, so the affects of it are going to be the same."

Jasper stood up, hands supporting his back so he could stand up straight. He almost fell over in the process. He walked over to the other side of the room and leaned against the wall with his right hand as the only support. "So what are you doing here?" he asked, clear headed now.

Evan knew that the medication was beginning to wear off as Jasper got up and supported himself against the wall. Turning to face him, Evan stuck his hands in the pockets of his jeans. "I came to tell you that your family misses you," he began calmly. "You leaving was probably one of the worst things you could have done. And while I realize that you needed answers, leaving a letter was probably not the best way to leave. Your twin Rosalie, well...she was upset to say the least. And your sweet little niece almost went into premature labor with her baby." Evan shifted his weight back and forth between his two feet. "I am not criticizing your decision in the slightest, but I thought that you should know the affect your decision had on your family."

"Your family," Jasper corrected him, looking back. He stood up and faced him now. "They're not my family anymore. Bella was right. I was only there for Alice. I was never a part of that family." Jasper crossed his arms and took a step forward. There was no way he could ever go back. There was no way he would go back.
