It had been a couple days since Renesmee had come home from her honeymoon to the crazy situation at home. She was still angry at Jasper and Alexandra for what had happened and how it had made Alice divorce Jasper. In fact, she wasn't speaking to either Veronica or Alexandra and refused to see the new babies in the house. In her mind, that situation had just went way out of control. She also was not speaking with Rosalie for siding with Jasper. However, there was one person she wanted to talk to most that she had not really talked to since her return. Her beloved Aunt Alice.
While Jacob was away on wolf business one afternoon, Renesmee decided that she needed some time with Alice, so she made her way up to the mansion, praying that Rosalie was not around. She was among the last people she wanted to talk to at the moment. When she walked in, she called out "Aunt Alice?" hoping that she would be there to talk to. There was something important bothering her as well.

Alice was up in her room looking at the divorce papers when she heard Nessie call her. Alice quickly put the papers away and ran out and looked downstairs. "Nessie, I'm right here." Alice called as she ran down and hugged her niece. "When did you get back? You have to tell me all about it!" Alice said as she let go. She didn't know if her niece knew everything about what happened while she was gone on her honeymoon. "Come, tell me everything. And do not leave one little thing out." Alice smiled as she grabbed Nessies hand and dragged her to the couch.

Renesmee smiled happily as soon as Alice appeared. Her aunt was one of the few people who really knew how to make her happy, aside from Jacob. She giggled giddily as Alice brought her over to the couch. "Jacob and I got back about two days ago, but we were setting up things at home so I haven't had time to really see anyone...aside from Mom and Dad," she explained. "Oh Alice, it was the most amazing time of my life. Of course, Jacob and I didn't leave the room for a few days, but...yeah." She felt her face growing really hot and she knew she was blushing. However, she trusted Alice. "But once we did, the city in Italy was beautiful. And then there was Isle Esme...Mom wasn't lying when she said it was completely enchanting."

Alice smiled and laughed as Nessie talked about her honeymoon. "I'm glad you had such a good time. However it is nice to have you back home." Alice squeezed Nessies hands. "And tell me about the new place I heard your father build for you and Jacob. I haven't had the time to go look at it." Alice said, she had been so busy with everything that was going she had forgot about it until Nessie said something about it. "You know if you need to go shopping for anything for it, I am your gal to do it with." Alice let out a giggle.

"Oh you should see the house!" she squealed. "It is absolutely perfect for me and Jake. They built it right by Forks and La Push so neither of us will have to be far away from our family or the pack." The thought of having a home to herself made Renesmee so happy. She finally would never have to fight for private moments with Jacob ever again. And never have to worry about someone from her family walking in on them. That was a huge relief in her mind.
"And we definitely have to take a shopping trip sometime soon," she agreed. Decorating the house was going to be something fun for her to do in order to take her mind off the rest of the family woes. That's what tipped her second reason for talking to Alice. Her smile faded a little and she looked away, a little scared.

Alice noticed that something was wrong with Nessie when she looked away. "What's wrong Nes?" She asked as she turned Nessies head back around to look at her. "You can tell me, anything you say stays right here between you and me. I promise." Alice said giving Nessie a little half smile. That's one thing Alice had missed when she was gone, her and Nessies little secrets from the rest of the family. Alice had so much trust in her niece, and hopped she felt the same way in return.

Looking back at her aunt, Renesmee started to cry. There were small tears streaming down her cheeks. Her nerves were shaking, which didn't make things any easier, but she knew that she could trust Alice. Her aunt had always been there for her no matter what and she knew that. "Alice, I...I..." she stumbled to find the right words, but couldn't. She calmed herself and took Alice's hands. "I think I might be pregnant." There...she said it and it was out in the open.

Alice took her niece into her arms as she started to cry. "It's okay calm down." Alice said holding her tight. Alice couldn't tell if Nessie was pregnant because she couldn't see Nessies future because Nessie was half vampire, half human, also this baby would have wolf in it, so she really couldn't see it's future. "Well you know Nes, I wouldn't know if you were, but we can go to a drug store and pick up a test." Alice said pulling away from Nessie. "This is nothing to worry about." Alice wiped away one of Nessies tears.

Renesmee fell into Alice's arms and began to cry. This was the most scared she had been in her entire life, including when the Volturi threatened her life as a child. None of that compared to the feeling she had right then. "I don't even know how this could have happened," she began, before correcting herself, "I mean, I know how this happens, but Jake and I were so careful." Feeling Alice wipe away one of her tears made her feel a little better, but it did little to quiet her fears.
"Alice, if we could get the test and I took it...I don't want anyone to know, regardless of the outcome," she whispered. "With everything that has happened with the family lately, the last thing they need on their minds is a vampire, human, and wolf child on the way." Renesmee pressed her hand to her stomach lightly, hoping that somehow she wasn't pregnant. She knew that she and Jacob were no where near ready to be parents, nor was her family ready for another child after the arrival of the twins not even a few weeks prior.

Alice took Nessie back into her arms. "No one will ever have to know anything." Alice said to her. Alice knew the family could not handle any more baby drama at this time. "Now go grab your coat and we will go get a test." She said letting go of Nessie. "We will go into seattle to get the test. less chance of running into anyone we might know, or of anyone seeing us." Alice said standing up and putting her coat on again. She went back to Nessie and took her face into Alices hands. "It's go to be alright. Aunt Alice is here." She smiled and kissed Nessie on the forehead.

Renesmee grabbed her coat and put it on before hugging Alice again. "Thank you Alice," she whispered. "I don't know if I could go through this without you." Renesmee knew that if she were pregnant, she would eventually have to tell her parents, Jacob, and the rest of the family. But, for now, until she knew for sure, it would be her and Alice's secret.
Once she was ready she looked at Alice and asked, "Are we taking your car or mine?"

Alice grabbed her purse. "I'll drive, you are in no state to drive like that." Alice said as she looked for her keys in her purse. "Here they are." She said grabbing her keys. She took Nessies hand. "You ready?" She asked as she started to walk out of the house and go to her car. "Do you have any place in mind, or does any drug store work?" Alice asked her letting out a small giggle. She thought it was a dumb question to ask, but asked it anyway.

Renesmee simply nodded, "Any store is fine," and began to walk out of the house to Alice's car, where she got in and put her seatbelt on. The thought was sinking in her mind that the test she was about to take was either going to relieve her of her worries or change her life forever. Absentmindedly, she placed her hand on her stomach and wondered if there really was a baby inside of her. Everything was relying on that test, which she was anxious to just get over and done with. Her hands were shaking a little as she waited to go.

Alice got into her car buckled up. She saw Nessie touch her stomach and look at it. "Try not to think about it." She smiled as she turned the car on and pressed down on the gas. "I wish I could tell you something, but you make it hard for me to see things. And god knows that if you have a baby I will never be able to see anything." Alice said trying to make a joke and make Nessie laugh. "A baby won't be that bad. I mean I would love to have a baby, it seems like everyone around me are having babies, but me." Alice laughed at it, but she was right. She put her eyes back on the road.

A faint smile passed Renesmee's lips at Alice's joke about not seeing anything if she had a baby. She sighed and looked out the window for a few moments. "You know what Alice," she said, looking back at her aunt after Alice mentioned wanting a child of her own. "I think you would be a great mom and deserve a baby of your own. I mean, my mom had me out of the blue when no one thought it possible. And now Rose has Maden. You deserve that happiness too Alice."
Renesmee placed her hand on her aunt's tenderly. Her heart went out to her aunt because of all Jasper had made her endure with getting Lexie pregnant. And now she saw how badly Alice was really hurting. As they continued driving toward Seattle, Renesmee pulled her eyes toward the road and tried to focus on something else besides the looming question of if she was pregnant or not.
