Alice looked at her niece and smiled. "I have you, and you are so close to a daughter Nes." Alice squeezed her hand and watched the road. "Besides I would be so overwhelmed with a child I wouldn't know what to do. I would want to by it everything, Carlisle would have to take out a loan just to pay off all the debt I would cause." She said trying to make a joke about how she really shouldn't have kids. She saw Nessie looking out of the window. "So you came home to some pretty crazy stuff, huh?" She asked knowing this would take her mind off of things.

Knowing Alice as well as she did, she knew that what Alice said was true about buying everything for her child. Renesmee laughed a little and looked back at her aunt. Alice always knew how to make any situation seem not as bad as it was, which was a talent of hers.
A soft huff passed Renesmee's lips when she was asked about coming home to the crazy things she did. "You're telling me," she sighed. "Mom was just trying to keep me away from most of it and I can understand that, but I'm still pretty upset with her, Rose, Daddy, and most of all Lexie and Jasper. How are you taking all of this?" She knew that it had to be affecting her aunt since Jasper was her husband.

Alice smiled at her niece. "At first things were hard. But I have Evan with me so they make things a lot easier than they should be at this moment." She said looking at the road. If anyone would understand it would be Nessie. "Your uncle Jasper has signed the divorce papers." She said turning her head to look at Nessie. "Can I tell you something and you must promise not to tell anyone else Nessie." She asked Nessie.

Renesmee listened sympathetically to her aunt, but was very glad that Evan was there for her through that hard time when she was away on her honeymoon with Jacob. Then Alice caught her full attention with her question. Turning toward her, she replied, "Of course you can tell me. You know I won't tell anyone because you are my aunt and I could never betray your trust, just like you are keeping this secret for me." Renesmee knew that Alice would keep her pregnancy test, no matter the outcome, a secret until the end of time. So, she knew she could do the same for her aunt.

Alice looked at Nessie and took in a deep breathe and then told her what was on her mind. "I still haven't signed the divorce papers." Alice then looked back at the road. Nessie was the first person she had told this to, she did because she knew she could trust Nessie with her life. "It's just that I feel lost. I mean yes I want the divorce because he hurt me. But he was my husband for so long and I still love him in a way. But I also love Evan, and everything with that is great. I'm just a big confused ball and mess." Alice said laughing at herself.

Putting her hand on her aunt's, she tried to give her some comfort. "It's okay to be confused you know," she said soothingly. "What Jasper did to you was the worst thing a husband can do to his wife and you had the right to divorce him, but I also understand what he means to you and how you have spent the last century of your life with him." Renesmee understood what it meant to love someone so much that you would literally do anything for that one person. It was both the best and worst feeling in the world.
"I'm really confused about this whole pregnancy thing. I mean, if I'm not then I will be relieved to be honest," she admitted, pausing to look down at her feet in the floorboard of the car. "And if I am, then I don't know what I'm going to do. Jacob and I are not ready to have a baby and I know that. We've only been married for about a month and have not spent any real time in our home together. Is it wrong to just want that?"

Alice sighed at Nessie. "You know your mother and father were not married two weeks before Bells found out she was prego with you, missy." She said joking with her niece. "However I do understand what you are saying and where you are coming from. It would be nice to have sometime just the two of you, be alone in the new home. Which reminds me that I still need to buy you a house warming gift." Alice smiled, that meant a shopping trip while they were in Seattle. "However a baby would not be the end of the world. But whatever happens, happens. And you and Jacob will have a baby when the time is right." Alice said smiling at Nessie and putting her eyes back on the road.

Renesmee knew that what Alice was saying was true. In fact, she was born just shy of one exact month after her parents' wedding. Albeit, she was an unplanned pregnancy herself, she knew her parents loved her and wanted her more than anything. "Alice, if I am pregnant...how am I going to tell everyone?" she asked. "I know that Jake will be excited and scared out of his mind. Rose will probably overwhelm me, even though we're not speaking right now because of the entire Jasper situation. And I don't even want to think about Mom and Dad's reaction..." The thought of everyone's reaction made her stomach turn. She knew that having another baby in the family was just not an option right at that point.
She kept her eyes focused on the road, hoping to see a sign for Seattle soon so that she would know for sure if she was pregnant or not once they got there and bought a test for her to take.

Alice laughed, she could just see everyones reaction to Nessie having a baby. "I think everyone would be in shock at first, I mean you are the baby of the family. The baby having a baby." Alice giggled to herself. Just then they started to drive through Seattle. "Okay holler when you see a drug store that looks good to you." Alice said to her, she was looking for one herself. "I think you have nothing to worry about. It would be mice to have a baby that was made out of love for once and not one that was just made. I think the family could use that right about now." Alice sighed still look for a drug store.

The thought of being the baby of the family and having a baby did make Renesmee giggle a little. Alice was good at making her laugh and always had been, even when she was little. As they entered the city limits of Seattle, Renesmee had her eyes peeled for a drug store while listening to Alice. "I know what you mean," she said softly. "And I know that even though I don't feel like I am ready to be a mother, that if I am pregnant, my baby was conceived out of love. Jacob and I love each other very much."
When Renesmee spied a drugstore, she said, "There's one there, on the left. We can go to that one and just use the bathroom inside to take the test."

Alice saw the store that Nessie was talking about. She almost had to knock a few cars out of the way to get there, but she pulled in and parked. Before getting out of the car Alice reached in the back of her car and found a water bottle that she kept in there to look "human". "Here drink this, that way you can pee when you need to." Alice giggled as she handed the bottle to Nessie.
Alice unbuckled and got out of the car. She herself had never taken one of these test or ever bought one before, so she really didn't know what she was doing. "Do you know what we are looking for?" She asked in a shy way. "Because I have no idea." She giggled, she knew Nessie was not going to judge her.

Renesmee took the bottle of water and drank most of it before getting out of the car. Looking over at Alice, she nodded, "I know what I'm looking for. I guess I'll get it and then go take it in the bathroom." She walked inside the store and down the aisle with all the tampons, pads, and female products until she came to what she was looking for. The pregnancy tests were all in neat rows, so Renesmee found the one she was looking for...the one that had an idiot-proof digital read-out so lines could not be blurred.
Walking up to the register, she paid for it and started to walk back toward the bathroom. "Wait for me outside the door?" she tentatively asked Alice, putting her hand on the handle of the bathroom door.

"Okay, will do." Alice said and followed Nessie to the back where the bathroom was. Alice looked around the drug store as she stood guard of the door. "If you can't pee, I heard that thinking of water and waterfalls helps." Alice whispered to Nessie through the door of the bathroom. Alice thought that Nessie having a baby wouldn't be that bad. She missed having a little one to play with around the house. Someone to make laugh and to love. Also some one to spoil. Alice stood there smiling, just waiting on Nessie.

Renesmee sighed deeply as she paced back and forth with the test in her hand. She had done her part and peed on the stick, now all she had to do was wait for five minutes for the results. Five very long minutes. Pacing back and forth in the bathroom, she thought of everything that could happen with each result. First, she could not be pregnant and things would go back to normal with her life as a new wife to Jacob, only she would be more careful about birth control until they were ready. Then there was option two, she was pregnant. Renesmee began to think about what would happen and the chaos that would ensue because of it. She was not ready to be a mother yet and she knew that. Jacob was not ready to be a father either; they were both just beginning their lives together as a married couple.
Renesmee looked down at the timer on her phone; four minutes and thirty-eight seconds had gone by. It was nearly time. Just seconds remained between her and the answer she desperately sought and was afraid of. Four minutes and fifty-one seconds. It was drawing closer. Every second that passed brought her closer and more afraid. Finally, she heard the beep, beep, beep of her phone timer. Looking down, she got her answer...clear as day.
Pregnant.
It was indefinite. She was pregnant. Her back hit the wall and she slid to the floor, drawing her knees to her chest. This was the most frightened she had ever been. For a few minutes, she sat there and cried softly until she could pull herself together. She stretched out her legs and put her hand to her belly. There wasn't a bump there yet, but she have sworn she felt the baby inside of her. Ninety things were going through her mind at once. What am I going to do? How will I tell Jacob? My family? What is my father going to think? Everything was just buzzing around inside of her mind that she could hardly think straight for herself. There was just so much to take in at once. And then she remembered that she was not alone, she had Alice there with her. She knew she could trust her with this.
Finally, she was able to stand on her own two feet again and start to walk out of the bathroom. Opening the door, she looked at Alice's face. Biting back more tears, she whispered, "I'm pregnant," before falling into her aunts arms.

Alice caught Nessie in her arms. "Oh baby." She whispered as she held her tight in her arms. "It's going to be okay. We will figure out what to do before we tell anyone. You have your aunt Alice here to make everything better." Alice said pulling Nessie away a bit to look her in the eyes. "But first we should get a few things."
Alice took Nessie to grab some facile tissue and then to where the chocolate was. Alice didn't know for sure, but she had heard that chocolate was good for times like these and she thought Nessie might like them. "And one last thing." Alice ran away and then was right back with a bottle of prenatal vitamins in her hand. "I remember your mother taking these when she was carrying you. You wait here and I will go buy all of this." Alice walked up and pain for everything and went back to Nessie. "Alright baby, lets go." She said wrapping her arm around Nessie and taking her out to the car. Alice opened the door and set Nessie down in the car and then walked over to get into her side. "So what are you thinking?" Alice asked her, knowing that her little niece had a lot on her mind right now.
