Jasper groaned. Bella just didn't get it. He whipped around. "No! Being just friends isn't enough for me! Alice was my first real love! I can't let that go. Remember the hell Maria put me through, and my first love when I was human, Evie.....Alice and I actually made it. And now I can never get it back." |

Bella was taken back by how fast Jasper snapped at her. This too, was not like him at all. But, she didn't want to anger him any further. She understood his pain, but at the same time Bella knew that he brought this on himself. However, she decided to not mention that fact and try to remain as calm as possible so he wouldn't get any angrier. "I know that this is the last thing you want to hear right now, but I think it needs to be said," she replied gently. "Alice hurts just as much about this as you do, but if you really loved her...wouldn't you just want her to be happy?"

Jasper knew he was being selfish, but said what was on his mind and what he was really feeling anyways. "Her being happy isn't enough for me. I want her to be happy.....but I want her to be happy with me." He sighed and quickly continued. "Can you please leave? I need time alone." He walked away to continue packing. |

Bella shook her head. This was not how things should have been, but she couldn't help what had happened. Now, she was the one cleaning up the aftermath of everything. "Jasper, that's not how love works," she reminded him softly. "And if you really loved Alice, you would already know that." With that, she left him be and returned downstairs to Edward's side to keep watch on Alexandra.

Edward had stayed up against the wall watching everything in the living room and trying to figure out what he was going to do about things. Bella was upset and he was to but that was something that he was going to have to get over. Edward had been mad over his twin leaving but she was back now and he was happy to have her home. Edward knew that he was going to have to forgive Jasper for making a mistake after all even Edward had make mistakes in the past. Edward had left Bella, though it was not the same it still hurt Bella.
Edward had been in his own little world when Bella's thoughts had interrupted his. He knew that she was right and that things could not go on the way that they had been. Edward was about to answer Bella when he heard Lexie's rib break. Edward knew from Bella that this was just the first of many broken bones. Edward knew that Lexie was going to run out of room for the twins soon and that they would have to make a decision. However, Edward needed Carlisle for that decision to be made. Edward watched at Bella attended to Lexie and then came to stand by him. Edward looked into her eyes for a long minute and then watched as she went upstairs.
Edward could hear everything that was being said between Bella and Jasper and though he really didn't want his brother to leave, he knew that he could not stop him. Jasper had changed since Alice left for London. Edward was not sure that Jasper would ever be the same, things had happened that had altered him. Edward also knew that if any one could get through to him it would be Rose. She was the closed to him next to Alice. Edward watched as Bella came back down the stairs and knew that she was not happy. He just took her in his arms and held her close to him.
