Bella could see that she was getting nowhere fast with Alexandra, so she decided that it was better if she went elsewhere for a while, leaving Edward downstairs to keep watch. Quietly she ascended the stairs to Alice and Jasper's room to find Jasper to see if she could talk to him. This was something she really did not want to do, but felt like she had to so there could be some sort of peace in the family. Cautiously, she opened the door, knocking on it lightly. "Jasper?" she called quietly.

Jasper was standing in the closet pulling his suitcases out. He heard Bella call his name and he realized she was in the room. He drug a suitcase out into the bedroom and said, "If you're here to try to convince me to stay, it won't work." He threw the suitcase on the bed and headed for the closet again. |

Bella saw the suitcases and knew that Jasper was packing to leave. She knew that she couldn't make him stay, even if she wanted to use her authority as part of the royal couple. This was the worst situation to be in and she hated every second of it because it was ripping her apart inside. No matter what Jasper had done, no matter how angry she was at him, no matter how much she wanted to kick his sorry butt...she couldn't. He was her brother. "I'm not here to try and make you stay," she said quietly. "I just wanted to tell you something."

Jasper stopped and stood, his back to Bella for a moment. He didn't know whether he should turn around and ask her what, or just stay there. It would probably be better to have eye contact with her, but he really couldn't stand to look at anyone at the moment. It was too much to bear. Everyone hated him. So, he turned around and asked, "What is it?" in the calmest tone he could manage. |

Bella stepped forward cautiously so not to startle Jasper. She knew that he was feeling all the hate coming from all sides of their family and frankly, she knew it was stressful. A part of her would always hate what he did, but she could not hate him as a person. That was just not in her nature to hate. "Jasper, I just wanted to tell you that no matter your opinion right now, those babies down there inside of Lexie are your children," she said softly. "And you may not regret it now, but maybe someday you'll want to have been in their lives growing up. They will grow up so fast and you won't even realize it. But, if it's your decision to leave..." she trailed off and looked past him to the window. How could she make her brother see that what he was doing would eventually hurt him later?

Jasper sighed and crossed his arms. "I'm sorry Bella. But I'm not going to ignore with Alexandra wants. Those children were a mistake anyways. She even told me that." He had to admit, he agreed with her. Besides, they were not planned. And he wasn't married to Lexie. |

Sighing deeply, Bella knew that Jasper would react like this...stubborn as ever. Silently, she put her hands in the back pockets of her jeans and looked away for a few moments. "I'm sorry that you think of them as a mistake," she said slowly and calmly. "But my opinion differs. No matter the circumstance that these children were conceived, it is still two new lives that are coming into the world."

Lives that were never suppost to be created, Jasper thought. He shook his head and walked away, starting to grab clothes to pack. This was the end, officially, once the twins were born. Alice had left him, his family would ignore him and in a way, he'd betrayed them. |

Taking another step forward, Bella reached out her hand and touched Jasper's arm. She knew that he felt guilt for what he had done to Alice, for what had happened. She didn't need to be an empath to feel that. And she hoped that he would feel the small amount of sympathy coming from her heart to him. Out of everyone involved in their family, she was the most likely to give any sort of sympathy to him rather than just kill him. "Jasper," she gently coaxed. "This entire situation doesn't have to end badly you know?"

Jasper turned his head after Bella put her hand on his shoulder and spoke to him. "As badly as it started.....yes it does." He put his hand on hers and gently removed it, going back to grabbing random things of his off of his shelves and stopping just to look at them. |

Bella shook her head. "You're not seeing the whole picture Jasper," she said as she watched him continue to pack. If it was one thing she didn't like about her brother's attitude, it was the stubborness that clashed head-to-head with her own. Fortunately for them, they had fought very little in the past. And this was something she was not willing to give up on.

"You don't understand Bella," Jasper said looking at her. "You and Edward have a bond similar to Emmett and Rosalie. I'll never have that bond with Alice." He shook his head. "Not now." He went back to packing, now taking his stuff and walking into the bedroom, putting it in a suitcase. |

Bella didn't understand what Jasper was talking about. He and Alice had always been close...until recently with all the Crystal business. And then Alexandra happened. But, their bond had been every bit as close as hers and Edward's or Rosalie and Emmett's. "What kind of bond are you talking about?" she asked in a mild-mannered tone. "You and Alice had always been close."

"Our relationship has been close, but how close are we talking? Our relationship isn't intimate. I can't tell you the last time we were alone together, just the two of us when no one could be a bother. I couldn't even remember even if I wanted to. We just can't talk about anything anymore." He rubbed his forehead and went back into the closet. |

"Jasper, I'm going to only say this once and if you ever repeat this, I will kill you myself," she said, stepping into his personal space once more. She wanted to make him see that everyone had their own set of problems; it was just how you looked at things. "Being married isn't always a walk in the park. Edward and I have had our own share of fights where we didn't talk all night. In fact, our worst one we didn't speak for an entire week. And I know Rose and Emmett have had their fair share too. Even though you may never get back with Alice, you can still mend the relationship and be her friend. And that means you can't run away from this."
