Carlisle Cold body felt nice against he it was cold but soothing. Being in his arms as he called her beautiful helped her smile through her tears, it was not till he mentioned her funeral did she stopped. She could tell seeing her pass was paining him very much. Esme hung her head low in disappointment, she wished she was not causing him this pain. Then one word he spoke jumped out at her Loved, the way he said that word she knew he cared about her...loved her. she place a hand up to his face shaking as she did.
"Carlisle I...sorry, I never wanted to put anyone though any emotional pain....I had so much in my life....I know how seeing me like this is ....eating you up inside..." she kept her hand on his cheek and then looked down at her baby. Carlisle and him were the same color, copse white. soon she knew the color would drain from her face and she would be in her eternal slumber Esme wiped a tear from her cheek. "Carlisle, I am scared..."

Carlisle gently caressed her face some. Shaking his head some more, he knew in that moment he didn't want to lose her. He loved her so much, he knew he could offer her eternal life, but wasn't sure if she would believe he was a vampire and not human. It hurt him to see her be so scared of death. He gently leaned his face against her cheek, as his nose gently rubbed against the side of her face.
"I don't want to lose you Esme, I..I..love you, from the moment I first say you, I knew I wanted to be with you, I love you and I will always love you, and it is ok to be scared, I want to save....y...ou....." Carlisle closed his eyes some, holding her more and more, wanting to cherish every moment he had with her. His angel was fading from him, he knew this would hurt him so much, but felt he couldn't be selfish and let Esme decide her own fate.

" Oh....Carlisle," Esme cried hearing him confess his love, It was something she had never expected anyone to say to her, she thought she was unlovable. "My body is to damaged you cant...... save me i know you were trying to before. No one can stop death....., not even a Angel, but with the words I have heard you speak I believe I could die a happy woman.[/b]" Esme turn her face so her lips could meet his. "I need a kiss.... from the my angel of death...you made my last moments in life special...I which i had more time with you" Esme smiled she could hear her heart as it was begging to fade. "My time is almost up"

Carlisle knew if he could he would cry with her. But he continued to grimace in his pained emotion. "Very well, my love...I will grant you this wish." Carlisle then gently cupped Esme's face and began to kiss her, closing his eyes as he did. When he felt his lips against hers, he knew he would have to go away for awhile and leave Edward as he felt this would be too much to bear and place on Edward. He loved his adopted son so much, he didn't want him to see him like that after Esme's eventual passing.
But then as he broke the kiss, he looked at her. He had to ask her. "Esme, if you could get a second chance, would you truly want to live again? I just needed to know, if you could start all over again, is that something you would want, perhaps a life with me?"

If she was given a second chance would she want to live again? Esme did not know how to answer that question at first. She was at the brink of death and did not want to feel any regrets in her live but the way Carlisle spoke the words Esme thought he knew something more than she did. It was the second half of the question that seemed to hit home for her. If she could start all over again, is that something she would want, perhaps a life with him? The way his chime like voice spoke she wished it was possible, the way he asked seemed like he was offering life with him. "If it was possible..yes....." Esme said then looked at her baby in her arms," but I don't think I could ever forget pain like this."

Carlisle smiled some weakly, feeling even content that Esme would want a life with him. He sighed some, "Esme, I am not going to lie or sugar coat it, you wouldn't forget this moment, the loss of your son, it is something you will always remember, that just shows how much love you have for him. I can't do this to you, offer this life, it wouldn't be for you. You don't have to be scared Esme, soon the pain will be gone and you will be reunited with your son. I just wanted to be sure I got the chance to tell you that I loved you and always will and would have loved your son like he was my own, in so many ways Esme you brought new life to me, you resurrected aspects of me that had gone dormant through all the countless years."[/b] He continued to hold her, helping her cradle her beautiful baby boy.

"Save me, " she said, "if you say you can then do it please, ....I was a weak woman trying to kill myself, but talking to you I think I have gained some of my strength....emotionally, not psychically. My body is broken so it my heart maybe it could have mended...." Esme felt short of breath and she struggle to cough for she cloud not breath. she could feel the fluid making her lugs heavy.she began gasp for air and grab Carlisle shirt. placing her head on his chest,she listen for a heart beat, she wanted to her the joy of a regular beating heart but she heard none

"Esme no!!!!" He then jabbed a needle so fast into the lung area and drained it out to continue to keep her alive, he did is so quickly she wouldn't feel a thing and regain more of her breath back. He continued to hold her, and knew he had to tell her the truth. "Esme, this is gonna be hard to believe, but I am not human, not anymore, I used to be, I am a vam...vampire and what I am offering you is eternal life, but the thing is, as a vampire you can never have certain things, a heart beat, the necessity to breath, or never be able to have children as well." Carlisle looked away some, knowing he would not force anything on Esme, but would let her make the decision for herself in the end.

Carlisle quick actions relived some of the heaviness from Esme's chest ad she was able to breath one again but the panic of the moment still held her in a state of shock as she held on to Carlisle shirt. When he mentioned he was a vampire, Esme though she was hearing things, but he said she would have a heart beat, or be able to have children. Esme did not know what to say at first so she placed her head on his chest and listen, she wanted to know the truth. The silence in his chest confirmed some if his story in her book . Looking back at her baby then back at Carlisle, he baby had no heart beat and his skin color matched Carlisle's perfectly. "Vampire.....eternal life.....Carlisle...I want to.......... be stay with you"[/i]In the middle of speaking Esme eyes became heavy and she wanted to sleep. she looked back down at her baby. "I never would wan...t another child... He or she could die, it would kill me.[/i]

Carlisle gently cupped her face, he wanted this more than ever to finally have a soulmate, a companion in a woman, he had Edward, who was his son, but Carlisle missed so much the love of a woman, especially if that could come from someone as beautiful and as wonderful as Esme. He then spoke again, "Esme, you have to be sure this is what you really want in the end, I love you, and I want you to be with me, but your life will never be the same again, it will be difficult at first, but no matter how hard it is at first, I promise you this, I won't leave your side, I will see you through it all. I will be your strength until you can carry on this new way of life." Carlisle waited on her answer, as he looked deeply into her eyes.

Esme bit down on her lip and nodded, "I am...."Esm's eyes rolled backwards and her eye lids began to droop, she was losing consciousness, but the same word stood out to her again... Love. She could still hear his speaking but count not make out any other sounds much. She Knew soon she wound no longer be able to hear his voice either. "I want to love you""[/b] She reached blindly because of tiredness for his hand wanting to hold him and her baby.

Carlisle knew what he was witnessing, Esme was dying and was finally at the end of her rope, as she could no longer speak. Carlisle gently took her hand and kissed it. He knew it was now or never, his fallen angel wanted to be with him. He debated over it wanting to be sure he did hear Esme give her consent to bite her and not that he was only simply hearing what he wanted to due to his desire to be with her and to love her. "Esme, it is going to be ok, you don't have to be scared, we will embrace this together, I love you and always will, forever and ever." And with that he bit down into her neck and held her for he knew the pain that was coming as his venon was exiting his teeth and into her blood stream.

Just as all of her pain seemed to fade, Esme felt a sting sensation in her neck, at first it was overly painful until she felt the burning. Her whole body was on fire, Esme felt like her whole body should have been a pile of ash. But yet she could still think and feel the pain. She screamed out in agony not knowing if Carlisle was still with her.
The burning was painful as it pulled Esme down into the darkness. It twisted in a rope of fire that seemed tighten around her. She could hear her heart beat it was quick again. Like she was running a marathon it thumbed inside her. Esme wanted to change her mind now back to the pain of my injury but they did not hurt anymore . she would have rather felt that pain. Her hands curled into fist and her body arched and twisted trying to fight the darkness, death.

Carlisle shuttered to hear Esme scream the way she did. He remembered that feeling all to well and remembered how awful the pain was when the creatrue he was chasing down turned around and bit him, taking his life away from him. Carlisle held onto Esme's neck a little bit longer with his bite and held her in place some, letting Esme clutch and cling to him if she decided to. He then lifted his head away unlocking his bite on Esme's neck, and placed a hand over his mouth, as he held onto her. "Esme just hold on and hang in there, I am here, I am here, I won't leave you, I won't leave you, I love you so much, I am with you the whoel way."

The pain seemed to go on for eternity she did not know if the pain would ever stop. At some points it felt like it would let up but the pain would return twice as Painful as before. She wanted to to scream out and tell Carlisle to kill her instead but she did t she could feel his with her, and she could hear in also. Eventually the burning began to fade and the rope of pain which she felt like was binding was begin to loosen. She no longer felt the darkness was engulfing either and attempted to open her eyes, right about her looking at her holding her hand was her angel. Her throat burnt with hunger and ever breath she took it seemed to burn even more. She Quickly sat up and began sniffing the air. something smelt terrible sweet like chocolate, used to her but as she looked at Carlisle's hand holding hers she knew it was him. " Hello,my throat hurts, it burns whenever I take a breathe."
