It had been a couple of weeks since Kenzie started dating Jon and life was going wonderfully for her. The weather had turned colder, moving into the official winter season in Forks, which made her a tad bit sad because trips to the beach were now off limits because of the cold. So, Kenzie was confined to stay inside; her least favorite thing to do. Jon had been busy lately, so she decided to make due of her free afternoon by choreographing some new steps for the showcase coming up in the spring for her dance company. Pulling on a pair of tights, a leotard, and her dance skirt, she turned on the music and started to spin around the room in tiny circles. She was visualizing at this point. That's how it always began.
As she wrote, she began to think about Jon...as always. Their relationship had literally been a whirlwind and it was the best thing that had ever happened to her. He was the very definition of a perfect boyfriend for her. Everything he did seemed to revolve around her when they were together and he knew what to say to make her happy when she was at the lowest of lows. Even her parents adored him, which just made things that much better. She thought about all of this as she continued to visualize and feel the beat of the music in her veins.

Lucy sighed and giggled to her self as she watched her breath fog up the air in front of her face. She glanced down at the small paper in her hand checking the address again. She knew she could not be headed in the wrong direction, after all Forks, Washington was too small to get lost in. Lucy sauntered her next few steps as she came closer to the house that matched the address on her slip of paper. If she knew anything about her best friend Kenzie she knew that she was going to have a shock attack to see Lucy standing on her porch. A smile rested on Lucy’s face at the thought of her friend, she had not talked to Lucy in ages in fear of the beans being spilled, and luckily Lucy’s parents had respected her wishes and not ratted her out either.
Lucy danced up the drive-way to stop short at the front door that was now the only barrier between her and her friend Kenzie. Lucy released a deep breath and just as she was about to knock on the door she pulled her hand back grinning. Lucy pulled out her cell phone and called the number she knew belonged to Kenzie’s cell. She popped the collar on her jacket to better shield her from the wind as she waited for the phone to be answered. As Lucy waited for Kenzie to pick up she was mentally glad that her parents were around her little finger. They for the most part got her what she wanted within reasonable limits and by that same luck Lucy had met Kenzie when they were both young and Kenzie kept Lucy from becoming one of the rich snobs that they both desperately hated.

Kenzie's concentration was interrupted by the loud buzzing and ringing of her cell phone. It was the distinct ringtone she knew belonged to her best friend in the world, Lucy. Quickly, she shut off the blaring music and ran over to the bed where her phone had been deposited earlier. "Hey girl!" she greeted giddily as she sat down on the bed to talk with her beloved friend. "What are you up to?"
Lucy had been her best friend in Seattle, practically growing up with her from the time they entered the same dance class. They danced next to each other at every recital and showcase from then on. It had devastated both of them when Kenzie's family moved to Forks, but they had promised to call each other every day and try to visit at least once every few months when they could, which was easier now that they both had their licenses. It had been a while since their last visit together, so Lucy didn't know about Jon yet because Kenzie preferred to tell her those things in person. She hoped that their next visit would be over Christmas break in just a few weeks.

Lucy bit back a laugh as she head the music coming from inside the house get shut off. Kenzie was home alright, no doubt practicing for an upcoming show. Lucy had time to take two breaths to compose herself before Kenzie picked up the phone and greeted her. Lucy smiled and responded in a soft voice unsure if Kenzie would be able to hear her in the house. “Hey yourself. I haven’t talked to you in ages. Me? Oh I’m not up to a whole lot. I just wanted to call and apologize for not talking to you the last couple of weeks we’ve just been having a lot of family drama.” Lucy fought back the laugh and put as much depression into her last comment. Lucy sighed for an added effect but she knew she could not keep the act up for long with the laughter that was threatening to explode within her.
Instead of going through the entire game she had set up in her mind Lucy said, “Well I would be glad if you could let me take you out to dinner and talk about it. I mean that is if you don’t have a hot date or anything.” Lucy allowed herself a small laugh as she remembered a prank that she had pulled on Kenzie’s ex-boyfriend before she had left Seattle. Lucy for the most part was a stickler for rules, but concerning her friends, all bets were off. Jerron had asked for the trouble that he got from Lucy and she was just itching to tell Kenzie about her latest victory.

Kenzie pulled her legs up onto the bed in a crossed position to chat with her friend, listening to her chatter on about why they hadn't talked in a while. Then the last thing caught her attention...she wanted to take her out. "Whoa...wait a second...are you in town?" Before she let Lucy answer that question, she hung up the phone and ran downstairs after seeing a car sitting in the driveway from her window. It can't be... she thought to herself as she ran down the stairs to the front door.
When she threw it open, there Lucy was, standing on the front porch. Immediately she threw her arms around her best friend and squealed, "Oh my god, I can't believe you're here! Why didn't you tell me you were coming? Come in!" She opened the door wider to let her friend come into the house and out of the cold.

Lucy laughed as Kenzie hung up the phone realizing that Lucy was on her front porch. Lucy laughed again as she heard her friend scrambling to get to the front door. Lucy smiled and hugged her friend tightly as she squealed. Kenzie was extremely surprised as Lucy hoped and expected her to be, and what was more important was, her friend was excited. Lucy laughed as she answered her friend’s question, “Well I wanted it to be a surprise.” Lucy pulled back from her friend and followed Kenzie into the house. She saw that her friend was wearing her typical dancing outfit and Lucy knew that she had been right in thinking that she had interrupted a practice session. Lucy hoped that Kenzie did not realize her being here was a permanent situation and decided to test the waters. “Well I see you all dressed up for practice. I can come back later if you would like me to.”

As Lucy came into the house, Kenzie heard her mention that she could come back later because she was practicing. However, since she rarely saw her best friend, she could make exceptions. "No, no...I was just writing some stuff for the spring to pass the time," she reassured her. "It's stuff I won't need until at least March, so I can spend time with you!" Kenzie was all giggles and smiles now that her other half was there. From the time that they were kids, she and Lucy had been like twins; inseparable, even with the distance that now was between them.
"So how have you been? It feels like we haven't talked in forever!" she giggled as she sat on the back of her couch, dangling her bare feet in front of her. There was so much she was wanting to just spout at Lucy right then about her new boyfriend and just life in general, but she reigned her tongue in for the time being.

Lucy patiently listened as Kenzie quickly explained the work she had been doing was not due until March. Lucy laughed as she watched her friend turn into a box full of laughing and smiles. That made her own excitement bubble over. She sat down on the floor and looked up at her friend’s bright face. She decided to ease into the news slowly and she made an effort to flinch as she spoke, “Well the family is moving.” At the look on her friend’s face Lucy could no longer hold it in and jumped to her feet excitedly. She clapped and laughed, “We officially moved to Forks today!”

Kenzie could hardly contain herself at the news that Lucy was moving to Forks. "Please tell me that you're being totally serious?" she asked, biting back a set of giggles. This couldn't be true; it was too good for it not to be a dream. Kenzie pinched herself to see if she was really awake before proceeding to scream happily, jump off the couch, and hug her best friend. "Oh my god, this is the best thing that has ever happened! I've missed you so much and have been so lost without my twin here!"

Lucy laughed as Kenzie practically tackled her with a hug. Lucy returned her friend’s hug, “Yeah I’m totally serious. The whole story is pretty funny actually.” Lucy pulled back to fist bump with Kenzie and after they did Lucy sat back wearing a huge smile on her face. “Yeppers the twins are reunited!” Lucy laughed at the phrase that she and Kenzie had used to define their friendship by. Lucy shook her head at her friend claiming to be lost without her. “Some how you seemed to have survived without me.” Lucy laughed as a memory arose, “Sadly the same can not be said for your ex.” Lucy fell to the side laughing as she remembered her last hoorah before leaving Seattle. “That is another funny story, man we have so much to catch up on!” Lucy held a smile knowing that at that point life was good and that the world would be far simpler now that she had her best friend back.

Kenzie was more excited than a kid on Christmas morning to have her best friend back with her. This was literally the best thing to ever happen to her, besides beginning her relationship with Jon, which she still had to tell Lucy about. However, her attention was distracted the moment Lucy mentioned her ex. Lucy had never really approved of Jerron, but wasn't as verbal about it because he made her happy when she had been so miserable about moving to Forks. Kenzie had a hunch Lucy would do something the minute she told her that Jerron had moved to Seattle. This only confirmed it. "Oh yes, we do have some catching up to do then," she raised her eyebrow suspisciously. "What did you do to him?"
The curiousity was burning in Kenzie's stomach to know what Lucy had done to Jerron because she felt like frankly whatever she did to him, the sorry bastard deserved. A small giggle escaped her lips as she anticipated what Lucy was going to tell her.

Lucy wore the special smirk that she reserved for those that deserved her undivided anger. Jerron easily took the prize for jackass of the year, and better yet the century. Lucy laughed as she remembered her last hoorah before she left Seattle. “Oh it was absolutely priceless Kenzie.” Lucy stopped to laugh again. Lucy could feel her eyes glow as she sat up to tell Kenzie what she had done. “Well the first part was the night after my parents told me that we were going to move here. Keep in mind this is a bit of a three parts sort of prank. Anyways it was the night of the school’s last basketball game, with a bit of maneuvering I slipped into the locker room and accidentally dropped some itching powder on his uniform.” Lucy waited for a few moments to allow Kenzie to laugh and process the first prank.
Lucy continued with a smile, “The next part was a few days later. I of course had to up the ante,” Lucy stated matter-of-factly, “While he and some of his cronies were working out and I left some fire ants in a baggie. I stuffed the baggies into his tennis shoes.” Lucy lost her composure and fell over laughing, “You could hear the little pansy screaming on the other side of the school.” It took longer for the two friends longer to compose themselves this time. Lucy cleaned away the tears that had begun to stream down her face. She looked at her friend, “Oh wait until I tell you the crowning glory, do you want to hear?” Lucy knew what her friend’s answer would be and she was just testing her friend’s patients.

Kenzie listened as Lucy told her story of pranking Jerron. As she listened, she couldn't help but bust out into laughter at the thought of him running around the locker room, stripping his clothes off because of the itching powder. It brought her heart great joy to listen to him suffer at the hands of her best friend. Then Lucy outdid herself with the fire ants bit, to which Kenzie really lost it. This really was the best thing Lucy ever did for her as far as payback for someone hurting her. "Oh...my...god," she gasped, trying to catch her breath from laughing so hard. Tears were streaming down her face as she tried to recompose herself enough to hear the last part of Lucy's story, which she was sure to be the best part. "I can't wait to hear this last part because frankly...he deserves whatever he gets."
There was a taint of bitterness on her last few words, but she knew she spoke truth. Jerron had hurt her in the worst way possible by cheating on her and the drinking, but Lucy had gotten him back for the sake of friendship and honor. Kenzie knew that given the chance, Jon would have openly whooped Jerron without a second thought about it. Her best friend in the world had done right by her and that was all that mattered.

Lucy clapped excitedly as she watched Kenzie go through an array of emotions. If it had been anyone else looking back on these memories would make Lucy upset to have injured someone in this manner. As Kenzie had said Jerron earned every bit of his punishment. “Well this one was the most complicated of the three pranks,” Lucy began dramatically as Kenzie finally gained composure. “it call began with a little call from Tracy Crew’s little sister. You know how the two of them sound so alike, well anyways Elea called Jerron pretending to be her older sister. We both know how obsessed he is with her and all that.” Lucy allowed a small laugh as she saw the look on her friend’s face, “Oh trust me it totally bit him in the ass. Getting off topic, so like I was saying Elea called Jerron acting all sexy an whatnot, and had him go to this house in nothing but his birthday suit.”
Lucy shuttered at that thought but she quickly began to be overrun with laughter as she thought of what happened next. She was barely able to gasp the words, “He…turned on…the…lights…” Lucy was curled up into a ball with tears gushing from her eyes as she was unable to finish her story. It took several minutes for her to catch her breath enough to say, “The cops had been reported for a sting operation or something like that.” Lucy clamped her jaw shut until the desire to laugh passed for a few seconds, “It took his parents almost a week to bail him out of jail!” With her last statement went the last of Lucy’s self control and she once again lost herself in laughter.
After Lucy was able to sit up she smiled in pride at her best friend Kenzie. They had known each other for many years and even though Kenzie was the older of the two Lucy took her role as Kenzie’s revenging-protector seriously. She refused to give up that role until she met someone that would be able to do a better job. The likelihood of that was not great because Lucy had not met a guy that could take her place and she knew that even if that guy were to appear he would have to seriously prove himself if being with Kenzie was his desire. Out of respect to Kenzie, Lucy had for the most part kept her opinions of Jerron to herself. That would seriously change for the next guy that would come into Kenzie’s life, Lucy could not stop a flinch at the thought of what her friend could have avoided if Lucy had spoken up. If something was wrong about the next guy in Kenzie’s life Lucy was bound and determined to find it and make sure that her best friend never came to harm.

Kenzie felt herself losing control as Lucy told her of the last prank she had pulled on Jerron. Her sides were literally hurting from laughing so hard. The thought of Jerron showing up to the girl's house totally naked must have been he was probably drunk and horny, but she already knew he was like that ninety percent of the time. But the best part was him landing his butt in jail for almost a week...some sort of penance for what he had done to her the previous year. "I would have..." she kept laughing, trying to catch her breath, love to have seen him in jail...crying to his parents to bail him out."
Knowing Jerron had spent time in jail just made the revenge that much better. By the time she fully caught her breath many minutes later after laughing some more, she had tears streaming down her face. "Oh god Luce, I have missed you so much!" she squealed. "I'm really glad you're here now because there is so much I have to tell you." There was a lot she had to catch Lucy up on...particularly dealing with Jon. She hoped that her best friend would like her new boyfriend much better than Jerron. In fact, she knew she would because Jon was just perfectly amazing for her in every way.
