Lucy wiped away the remaining tears of laughter. “Yeah they got him on indecent exposure, and last I heard they still haven’t dropped the case against him.” Lucy giggled as she thought that Karma was definatly a bitch and she was only to glad to help it along. She laid back on the floor and put both of her hands under her head as a pillow as she stared up at the ceiling. She listened with a smile as Kenzie expressed her joy at having her best friend back. Lucy was just as happy and relieved at the fact she had her parents wrapped around her finger. She smirked at that thought and was glad that she did not use her powers for evil. Lucy giggled again as she thought of Jerron in jail, okay so maybe she did use some of her powers for evil. Lucy then heard Kenzie claim she had a lot to tell her friend. With a curious frown well placed on her face Lucy sat up resting back on her elbows. “Well I hope that it is good news.” Lucy laughed, “Oh who am I kidding? As long as you haven’t gotten married since we last talked I will take it that the news is good.”

Kenzie giggled even more at the thought of Jerron's sorry butt in jail. The thought of him sitting there in his birthday suit was even more amusing. Perhaps the cops would have sought to teach him a lesson and make him remain in his nudity; Kenzie certainly hoped so. Pushing onward, she looked at Lucy and smiled. "So, there kinda has been some really interesting things going on here lately," she had butterflies in her stomach already. Lucy would be the first one she ever told outside of her parents about her relationship with Jon.
"This all happened really fast and I didn't want to tell you unless it was in person, but I'm kind of...dating someone again. He is perfectly sweet and totally opposite of what jerkface was," she reassured Lucy. Lucy was always the overprotective one of the two, so Kenzie automatically knew that she would want to know this guy's name, social security number, and where he lived. That was just how Lucy was and Kenzie accepted that part of her best friend with love.

Lucy smiled as she watched the wheels turn in her friend’s head. Kenzie was probably thinking of what her own choice of punishment would be. Lucy’s smile brightened as she thought of Jerron in jail and how he would probably end up as someone’s bitch. Lucy was wrapped up in her fantasies of Jerron being beat day in and day out for trying to give Bubba attitude. She was so wrapped up in the theories that she missed most of what Kenzie was saying. She however was not distracted enough to hear Kenzie mention dating again. That was all she could hear, was that one phrase from her friend’s mouth, ‘dating someone again’.
Lucy immediately jumped to her feet and she could feel her jaw touching the ground as her arms waved frantically around as she screeched at her friend, “WHAT!” Lucy waved her hands in front of her as she prevented her friend from saying anything, “Okay, Luce simmer down.” Lucy took a deep breath as she finished talking to herself to calm down. “Giving you the benefit Kenzie, please tell me this all started today and that is what you mean by really fast.” Lucy groaned and sat down on the floor again, “Ugg I’m giving myself an ulcer.” Lucy took another deep breath, “Okay I’m good, I am calm, all is right in the world.” Lucy put her hands on her forehead and caught her breath. She finally looked up at her friend with a completely innocent smile, “So when do I get to meet Mr. Man?” Lucy knew that Kenzie would probably read through the smile in a second but never the less she wore it anyway.

Kenzie knew and expected this kind of reaction from Lucy; after all, they had been best friends since they were five and you don't hold that kind of valuable information from your best friend, even if your life depended on it. But, this was one of those situations that she needed it to be in person to tell her. Kenzie bit back a set of the giggles as she watched Lucy freak out in typical 'Lucy fashion' before calming herself down to a rational level that Kenzie could talk at.
"Well, you can meet Jon as soon as you want to," she said, smiling back. "I would say today, but he's got some stuff going on down on the reservation that he needed to be a part of. He's half-Quileute on his father's side." Before Lucy could say anything else, she butted in again, "Oh and your innocent smile doesn't fool me, I know what you're thinking missy and you are not going to inflict any kind of torture on Jon. He's the most amazing boyfriend I could have ever asked for and I know that once you get to know him, you'll see how perfect he is for me."

Lucy held her hands up defensively, “Chill beans okay? I won’t hurt the guy, knowing that he was probably a million times my size.” She laughed to herself at that thought. Lucy knew that she was fairly small and compared to as much as she ate it made no sense. It was easy to say that one of Lucy’s loves beside dancing was a good meal; especially a nice hamburger. Lucy listened to every detail that Kenzie said about her new boyfriend. Lucy smiled that her friend seemed to be so happy but there was still the part of Lucy that remembered it had started out that way with Jerron.
She felt herself perk up at the idea of meeting this Jon character. Lucy then frowned at Kenzie as she called her bluff behind her smile, “I would love to meet him asap. I must say that I reserve to pour itching powder on any dumb ass stupid enough to start trouble with you.” She smiled to herself at the thought of all the pranks that had been played on Jerron, and how he was probably going to remember it all his life. Lucy shrugged at her friend, “I’m sorry but I just get to as your best friend,” her frown had turned into a small smirk, “and there ain’t nothing’ you can do about it.” She smiled knowing that Kenzie would not take it the wrong way.

Kenzie began laughing at the mention of 'itching powder' again...it was just too funny not to laugh. "Oh Lucy, I have missed having my best friend around. And yes, you do have the right to do that stuff to anyone who messes with me just like I have the same right to when people are dumb enough to mess with you. We're stuck with each other for life." The last thought brought a smile to her face. There was no one else she would rather be best friends with for life than Lucy. Even their mothers said they were two peas in a pod when they were little, always having each others backs no matter what.
Kenzie sat down on her couch and pulled a pillow into her lap. "But Luce...Jon is really amazing. I think that he might be the one if you know what I mean. He knows exactly what I need before I need it."

Lucy smiled as Kenzie spoke what she already knew. The two of them would constantly have each other’s backs. She laughed at her friend, “Oh yeah I was going to say you are pretty much stuck with me for good.” Lucy watched as Kenzie pulled a pillow into her lap as she sat down. Lucy sighed and shook her head as Kenzie talked about Jon. “I’m sorry Kenzie, really I am but this probably going to be one of the only times I can’t take your word for it.” Lucy knew that what she was saying probably came out a lot worse then what she meant for it to sound like but it really was how she felt. Lucy refused to allow her friend to ever go through another relationship like she had with Jerron. Although she did not wish to admit it the glow around Kenzie was far different then what it had been like with Jerron. She was glad to see at least that much difference, but she did not want to get her hopes up that things would be different this time.

"Oh, I understand Luce," she said. "But once you get to know Jon, you'll see what I'm talking about and then you will know what I already know." Kenzie knew that Lucy was just being her protective self, like always. Even as children, Lucy was always the more cautious one when it came to taking this kind of risk. She was also the first one to beat someone down if they hurt her best friend. Kenzie was the more psychological one...meaning she was more apt to mess with the guy's head who hurt Lucy. They were two opposite sides of the same picture, which is why they got along so well. "He even danced with me," she continued on with her little Jon tirade. "It was really cute though because he didn't know how to waltz, so I had to teach him."
The thought of teaching Jon to dance that first time brought a big smile to her face. It was a beautiful moment between the two of them that she loved. Jerron had never danced with her...ever. He had never appreciated that side of her and Jon fully did.

Lucy was glad that Kenzie at least understood her point of view on the situation. Lucy just felt that as the best friend she had certain things to try and protect Kenzie from and a guy treating her like shit was one of them. She could not stop Jerron but she could give her own form of payback and a promise to herself that she would keep Kenzie from going through that again. Lucy laughed as Kenzie described her small dancing scene with Jon. “Well gotta give Mr. Man props for at least trying to dance the waltz with you.” Lucy could already tell that Kenzie was head over heels for this guy. There was a part of her that was excited for Kenzie, but the sensible part of her was demanding to meet this Jon character and see for herself what he was all about.

Kenzie smiled again, feeling her skin absolutely glowing with the love she had for Jon. He was everything she ever wanted but never thought she would find. And then one day...BAM...it happened to her and they found one another on First Beach. They were inseparable when they were together, always talking and laughing about everything. After that first day in her backyard, she had begun to understand more about him and his family, including his mother. She noticed he shared more fond memories with her now than he originially did. It was more comfortable for him to talk about her now.
"Oh, you should have seen him the first time he met my parents," she laughed out loud. "They walked in on us...kind of...kissing in my backyard by the swing. But they immediately loved him because he was polite and charming. He even impressed my dad and you know how hard that is."

Lucy tilted her head to the side as she watched Kenzie become lost in a memory of some sort. Obviously it was a happy one because she was smiling. Lucy would bet her favorite pair of jazz shoes that Kenzie was day dreaming about Jon. Her thoughts were practically confirmed as Kenzie described the day Jon had met her parents. Lucy could not helped but be slightly impressed by the fact that Jon had scored a slam dunk with Kenzie’s father. He was a tuff nut to crack and it spoke volumes for Jon’s character for being able to do it. “I hate to say it but that is kinda cool your dad approves of him, I mean your dad hardly likes anyone. In fact memory serves he hated Jerron almost the first time he walked into your house.” Parents had a special way to read the personalities of the people around their own children. Based on his reaction to Jerron, Lucy had to give Jon a check mark for getting past Kenzie’s dad.

"Yeah, my dad approving of Jon is a huge step for any relationship I have," she agreed. "And my parents didn't even seem to mind that Jon is two years older than me, which was weird." Kenzie got up and walked over to the window where she looked out over toward La Push, where Jon was. She wondered what he was doing at that very moment and hoped he was thinking of her, which she knew he was. They were like two halves of a complete soul they shared; neither complete without the other. For her entire life, Kenzie had been wandering around lost and confused...until she found Jon.
Turning around, she looked back at Lucy and smiled. She could literally feel her heart pitter-pattering as she thought about Jon. It was the goofiest feeling in the world, but she loved every second of it.

“Yeah your parents can get kinda anal about some of that stuff. I mean I don’t understand why two years would be all that much of a big deal.” Lucy felt a grin grow across her face as thought of something, “I mean hey if the guy ends up being a jackass he can go to jail for dating a minor.” Lucy laughed, ‘Oh that could have definite possiblilities.’ Lucy thought with a smirk. Other fanatsies began to float in and out of Lucy’s mind for what could happen to Jon if he ever hurt Kenzie. She watched her friend get up to go and stand at the window looking for something. Kenzie seemed to become lost in thought and then she turned around with the goofiest smile on her face. Lucy sighed inside of her head guessing at what the answer was but she had to ask anyway, “Wanna explain to the clueless?”

"Well," she giggled. "It's just that before Jon, I never thought I could be so open with one person, besides you of course. But, as far as guys go, I don't trust them so easily. Jerron made my life a living hell and I had never recovered from it...until Jon." That was the plain and simple truth. Jon had healed her broken heart and made her like new; something she never thought she would be again.
"In fact, the first time he kissed me, I ran away because I was afraid of what was growing in my heart for him," she explained. "That killed the both of us because he thought he had really hurt me when I was just scared is all." Kenzie came and sat next to Lucy on the bed and smiled.

Lucy grinned as Kenzie talked about Jon again. Most of the time all of this sudden talk about guys would bother Lucy. It was not that she hated men or anything of that nature she was just too used to being the shoulder to cry on, and the girl that went crazy on the ex-boyfriends. The truth of the matter was Lucy was to afraid that she would run into all the Jerron’s of the world, and never have a real chance in life. Lucy was able to pull herself from that train wreck that those thoughts led her down and focused on what her friend was saying. She smiled as Kenzie talked about Jon helping her to recover, “Well I am glad that you have a guy that is helping you work through that stuff.” Lucy flinched as Kenzie told her about running away from him when they kissed for the first time.
Lucy clamped her jaw shut at the idea of her friend running away from that poor guy. Unfortunately Lucy could not hold it in any longer and curled on herself laughing. After a few moments she gasped out, “That…poor…guy!” She finally sat up with her hands over her mouth trying to hold back her laughter. Lucy hoped that Kenzie would not get too upset at the laughter, but the image of what Kenzie had described was hilarious.
