Leah was relieved to hear that Josh didn't mean his response as a real proposal and she relaxed a little. She knew that even though she was cynical about the whole love thing, she wanted to do things at least semi the right way, which would include Josh asking her brother for her hand in marriage. The last thing she needed was for her brother to be pissed for something she couldn't have controlled even if she had wanted to. Imprinting was a funny thing in the Quileute culture because it happened so unexpectedly. Her heart was beating so fast as she stood there on the beach with Josh, but it wasn't because she was nervous. In fact, she had never felt more at ease with someone in her life. It was only because he made her feel like the whole world revolved around her.
When he pulled her in to kiss her again, she smiled into the kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her. A few moments later, she broke their kiss and looked into his eyes with a grin as she bit her bottom lip. This was definitely not the Leah everyone knew and was used to. Her cynicism didn't seem as important now. "You are definitely hard to resist," she said grinning. "Not that I mind that at all. So tell me...how exactly did you meet my dense, thick-headed brother?" Leah was curious to know everything about Josh. It was insane that she had only just met him, literally already slept with him, and was just now getting to know him.

Josh could tell that Leah was relieved that he did not mean the proposal. He knew that they were a long way from that and they had plenty of time. When she broke their kiss and asked about him meeting Seth, he knew that she was wanting to get to know him and he was fine with that. Josh pulled her over to a driftwood tree that looked like a perfect bench and sat down. He turned to face her and started to tell her the story. "Well that is kind of an interesting story." He said as he smiled at her. "I guess to tell you that, I have to tell you about before I met him." He said to her as he thought about his life in Canada. He did not remember the reservation. He had left when he was really young. He thought back over his life and began. "Well as you know I was born here and moved away when I was young with my parents. Of course they did not know about the whole wolf thing." He said thinking back to when he changed. "I thought I was going crazy when I phased for the first time. I did not know what was happening to me and I could not talk to my parents about it. They would have thought I was crazy." He said thinking back. "Since I did not know about the pack or anything. I guess that I was not in the loop with the whole mind link." He said thinking that it would have been nice to have the pack in his head when he phased. He paused there to let Leah think about everything that he had said.
