Emergency Meeting [Cullens/Jake]

[Jasper Hale]

Jasper stood at the top of the mountains. He had found himself coming there increasingly often of late. He by no means was trying to avoid the family, but Jasper needed the time alone to think about what had been happening in his life. Also a part of him felt as though he could not go to Rosalie forever about everything that was happening. Jasper heard his cell phone go off and when he looked at the message he sighed to himself knowing it would be important.

There was something holding him to the mountain top though, and he knew that if he stayed that Rosalie or someone else from his family would be able to tell him what was going on. After a short time Jasper knew that he would be needed by the family, and that Alice’s text would not be sent for nothing. His reasons for avoiding the family before were gone, and Jasper decided that it was time to go back. After running at an even pace Jasper paused at the back of the house and he could feel the collision of emotions coming from the living room, and knew he was right to come home.

Jasper focused on most of the emotions of the room and focused on giving everyone a sense of calm. Not to control them, but to keep them from getting too upset to focus. Jasper also did not miss the exchange between Alice and Rosalie. “You could have phrased that a little kinder Alice.” He looked around to see his entire family was before him and sighed knowing this fight, against the new evil would be hard for the family. Jasper knew however that it would bring the family back together and he wondered if perhaps it was what the Cullen family needed to bond.

[Bella Cullen]

Bella looked around the room at her family. She didn’t need Jasper’s power to feel the energy that they were all putting off. The tension flowing from Rosalie and Alice was enough to make her want to take a few steps back, while the feeling of anticipation and excitement that seemed to be oozing from Emmett and Jacob was enough to set off an airplane. Bella couldn’t help but form a slight smile at her brother as she looked over Emmett. She loved that she could count on his enthusiasm in a situation such as this, and was glad to see that he seemed to support the idea of Maden not fighting.

An instant calm came over the room and she lifted her eyes upward to see that Jasper had entered. Something that to her held so many meanings, and yet all she could do was focus on the inner calming that was taking place. Bella smiled at the fact that Jasper had decided to join them. She wasn’t sure whether it was reluctantly or not, but she was definitely pleased to have her brother standing with them, facing this problem as a family. She wondered if any of the others in the family ever had a distain for Jasper and how he would manipulate their emotions. But in times like this, she was appreciative. It was important that they all keep a cool head and remember that the point is to not fight with each other, but to fight for each other. She placed her arms crossed over her stomach as she smiled at Jasper, “I’m glad you were able to make it,”. She spoke to him, knowing that, that was all she was going to say about the subject and that he would be able to find, along with the others, the double meaning behind what she had said without having to delve into it. Her heart ached for her brother, having to know that he had probably felt abandoned by his family. But in this moment she saw a great strength from him, a step towards them becoming a stronger family, that she could not have any more respect for.

[Alice Cullen]

Before Alice could say another word to Rosalie or add to what Bella had said to her, she felt an overwhelming sense of calm wash over her. Without looking around, Alice knew that Jasper had decided to join the meeting. Alice was greatful in times like this that he had the power to keep things level and calm, especially when it came to tense situations with Rosalie. Taking a calming breath, Alice turned around to face Jasper and nodded at his comment. "I could have," she agreed, before turning back to her sister. "I apologize Rose, but I just don't want to see your son get hurt when I can prevent it."

Looking around to her family, she folded her small hands in front of her and thought about what they would have to do now. "I know that there are plenty of us to handle this threat as a family," she began. "But I think that it would be a good idea for us to call upon other vampires in the area that we can trust to help us. After all, the wolves of La Push cannot fight and it's better to be prepared with more options than to get into a situation later." Alice paused for a moment as a vision came to her. It was of their family fighting the children of the moon, with other vampires by their sides. The outcome was successful. "My visions say if we choose help, then we will succeed, but we need to call an immediate meeting with those who will help us fight in the clearing outside the woods where we play baseball."
