Rosalie knew that the time had come for her to talk to Renesmee. Rosalie had tried to give Renesmee time to come around on her own but it did not look like she was going to do that. Rosalie knew that Renesmee was going to be difficult but Rosalie was just as hard headed as Renesmee and she was going to get through to her one way or another. Rosalie walked slowly up to the house that she had not been to since Renesmee and Jacob had moved into it.
Rosalie knocked lightly on the door and waited for Renesmee to answer it. She knew that today was going to be a long day and she was not sure how Renesmee would react to what she had to say, but she was going to say what was on her mind and Renesmee was going to listen. Rosalie took a deep breath and held it for a few seconds before releasing it slowly. She wondered if Edward would have been the better choice to have this conversation with Renesmee, but Rosalie was the one that was going to have to face Renesmes and make her see the error of her ways.

Renesmee bounced Alicia on her hip a few times, making her laugh and giggle all the while. Alicia had grown quite a bit since her birth and now looked like a six to eight month old instead of only three months. Nevertheless, she was happy and healthy which was wonderful for Renesmee to see as a new mother. As she bounced her daughter, she noticed that Alicia needed to be changed, so she made her way over to the changing table. Once she was clean and dry, Renesmee put Alicia into her playpen with her toys so that she could clean up a bit before Jacob came home. Since Crystal was gone, Jacob had been able to spend a little more time at home with them, which made Renesmee that much happier because she had her husband and best friend back.
As she picked up Alicia's toys and blankets from around the nursery, she noticed a book on the floor. When she looked at it, she smiled and thought of all the times her mother used to read with her when she was a little girl. She remembered being so impatient because the picture books were boring, so she had moved onto the Romantic poets by the time she was three months old. She shook her head lightly as she put the book away on the shelf and turned around to her daughter. "Mommy is too much of a clean freak," she laughed before walking into the kitchen to retrieve something, taking the baby monitor with her. Just as she walked into the kitchen, she caught the faint scent of someone familiar and knew immediately who it was just before the knock on the door came. Sighing deeply, she walked over to the door and opened it to see her Aunt Rosalie standing in the doorway. "Good morning Rose," she said. "To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?" Even though she already knew the answer, she at least wanted to start the conversation as polite as possible.

Rosalie stood at the door as Renesmee opened it. She knew that she had to watch her temper, but she was not totally sure that she could do that with out Jasper or Emmett around but she was going to try. When Renesmee asked why Rosalie was there, she almost lost it. "Renesmee, we need to talk." Rosalie said to her as she walked past her into the house, not waiting to be invited. Rosalie was going to get through to Renesmee one way or the other. Rosalie walked into the living room and looked around. It was the first time that she had been to the house.
Rosalie took another deep breath and exhaled. She turned to look at Renesmee and thought through everything that she wanted to say in the matter of a second. "Renesmee, I have come to talk to you about alot of things, mainly for Jasper but also for other things." Rosalie said as she took a seat on the couch. "I do not want to fight with you but that may be the only way to get my point across and if so then so be it." Rosalie said making her intensions knows. Rosalie knew that Renesmee had been acting strange and not like the girl that she was before. Rosalie was not sure what had caused the change in Renesmee, but knew that it started long before she became pregnant with Alicia and that she was not going to take that as an excuse any more.
"Renesmee, you were not raised to act the way that you have been." Rosalie started off with. She knew that was were they needed to start. "You have turned your back on your family and that is not acceptable. I don't want to hear any excuses about being newly married or a new mother either, because that is not good enough. Your mother would have never turned her back on the family after you were born and we all helped to raise you to love your family and be loyal to us." Rosalie said in a rush but she knew that Renesmee could keep up with her after all she was half vampire.
Rosalie stopped so that Renesmee could process everything that she had just said and knew that Renesmee was going to get all defensive but she did not care at this point. Renesmee was not raised to act the way that she was and Rosalie knew that Edward and Bella had already tried to talk to her and it was not getting through, so Rosalie was going to get through to her. "Renesmee Carlie Cullen Black, you are not the center of the universe and neither it Alicia, you need to stop acting like the family is going to hurt you or the child and take your place in the family and act like a member of the Cullen Family." Rosalie said in a rather harsh and scolding tone.

The minute Rosalie said that she wanted to talk, Renesmee knew that this conversation was not going to go well. Mentioning Jasper's name in the first sentence was never a good sign either. Renesmee had been dreading this conversation for a while now, but knew there was no getting around it since Rose had all but invited herself into the house. When Rosalie started to scold her for how she had been acting, she tensed like a child, but remained calm and collected like the adult she was. As the mental barrage continued from her aunt, she listened quietly and tried not to say anything until she was finished. Her mind was going in wild circles trying to process everything and keep it together for the time being. Stay calm...fall apart later... she told herself over and over again, thankful her aunt could not read her mind.
Everything over the last few months had proven to take its toll on Renesmee as she had neglected her family. When Jasper came home, she didn't want to see him because she was afraid of him leaving again. Being angry with him had been a mental front she had put up to keep herself from falling apart again. And now that Rosalie was scolding her for things she really didn't know the answer to, Renesmee couldn't hold it in anymore. She couldn't pretend any longer like she was angry or that she was hiding to protect her daughter. Slowly, she backed up and sat down on the couch across from Rosalie and began to break down.
"I'm sorry..." she whispered, looking up with tears in her eyes. "I never meant to hurt anyone...I was just afraid." She swallowed hard and tried not to break into sobs in fear of scaring her daughter in the other room. She pulled her knees to her chest and rested her chin on top of them. Tears rolled down her cheeks. "I didn't want to see Jasper because I was afraid he'd leave again and I couldn't handle losing my uncle for a second time." Her words came out so quickly that it all sounded like it ran together, but Renesmee didn't care anymore. She couldn't hold it together when confronted like that.

Rosalie was shocked and throne for a loop when Renesmee started crying. Rosalie forgot at times that Nessie was half human. When Nessie broke down and started talking, Rose could understand the hurt in her voice and the words that she was saying. Rose had felt them too, but Rose knew that they all had the option to come and go as they pleased. Just as Edward and Bella had done when they took Nessie to London for thirty years.
"Nessie, I can understand the fear, but that is not any reason to act the way that you have been." Rose said to her in a much calmer voice. "We all leave from time to time, but we come back. Just look at your parents. They took you to London for thirty years, but they are back now and so are you. Time is different for us as vampires, it does not pass the same way for us as it does for humans. We measure time in decades and centuries, not days and months." Rose said the her trying to calm her. Rose knew how Nessie was feeling and could sympathize with her. The thought of Jasper leaving was never easy for Rosalie but she knew that it was his choice, though Jasper had never left for so long before and never with out talking to her first.
"Jasper, did not stay gone of his own free will though. He only meant to be gone for a couple of weeks, but he was being held hostage in Florida. That is not his fault." Rose said to her thinking about everything that she knew she twin had gone through and wanting to kill the so called doctors that had held him. "Jasper is home to stay now, and he wants to see you but he is afraid that you are still mad at him and hate him. Jasper can not deal with strange emotions right now. His captivity really affected him and has taking its toll on him. That is why I hardly ever leave his side anymore, he needs me with him." Rosalie said to her niece hoping that it was getting through to her.

Renesmee buried her face into her knees as she listened to her aunt. Tears kept streaming down her face involuntarily as she quietly listened. She knew that coming and going as one pleased was part of vampire life, but after coming back from London after thirty years of being away from her family, she would have never thought that one of her family members would up and leave so soon after. Her family had been everything to her, especially Jacob and now Alicia. They were all her world and she knew few people outside of the world that was her family, the Cullens.
Biting her lip, she looked up at her aunt. "I was mad at Jasper...at first," she said quietly. "I was angry that he left while I was pregnant, which I know was partly my hormones. And when he came back, I was just afraid. I didn't want to expose Alicia to my pain if he were to leave again." Renesmee paused for a moment to gather her thoughts and to listen in on her daughter to make sure she was alright in her playpen. When she didn't hear Alicia crying, she knew she was doing fine and resumed her conversation with her aunt. "I'm not angry with him anymore," she continued. "And I could never hate him because he is my uncle." Renesmee looked at the coffee table in front of her and tried to pull herself together again. She didn't want her daughter to see her like that nor anyone else at the moment, especially not Jacob because it would send him into an overdrive of worry.

Rosalie listened as Nessie talked and she understood perfectly how Nessie felt. "Nessie, I felt the same way when Jasper left. I was mad at him, but for a different reason. My relationship with Jasper, is one that is hard for me to explain, other than to say that he is my twin in all ways that are possible for us." Rosalie said to her niece, trying to comfort her. Rosalie knew that Nessie loved her family and that her family was all that Nessie really knew.
Rosalie turned to Nessie then and looked into her eyes. "Nessie the longer that you stay away from the family, the more that you are hurting them. Everyone of us love you more than our own lives. We would kill to protect you, but you are grown now. It is time for you to start acting like a mature adult and not the child that you never really got to be." Rosalie said to her in a tender almost motherly tone. Rosalie till thought of Nessie as her own even after all this time. Nessie had been her world when she was born and Bella was changing. Rosalie had always been protective over Nessie, but she knew that she had to tell Nessie the truth now and not sugar coat anything. "The family misses you, and the longer you hide here, the more they will think that you have abandoned us." Rosalie said in an almost hurt tone.

Renesmee looked back at her aunt with apologetic eyes. She had known all about the pain Jasper had caused when he left because she felt it in her own way, pregnant and all. However, she also knew that it had devastated Rosalie. Pain was never something that Renesmee handled well at all, even as a child. She hated seeing anyone she loved and adored in pain because it made her feel as though she were in pain too just from watching them. In her mind, she had short mental images of her childhood. The moment when her mother broke Seth's collarbone in a fit of anger against Jacob because of the nickname he had given her, watching her mother worry about the Volturri, and many others flickered through her memories.
Hearing what her aunt said, she nodded. "I have been acting like an adult...mostly. Perhaps not in the emotional department where Jasper was concerned, but in taking care of my daughter and focusing my attention I have been," she said softly before she heard Alicia's small cry in the other room. Disappearing for a moment, she came back holding her daughter on her hip, lightly bouncing her up and down to comfort her child. Sitting down next to Rosalie, she placed Alicia on her own lap and kissed her head softly. "She is my reason for everything; for living, breathing, and getting up every morning. I never knew I could love someone so much until she existed." Renesmee's eyes drifted to her daughter, the precious gift given to herself and Jacob through a miracle. Alicia was one of a kind, but perfect in her eyes. "I understand what Mom went through to have me and how much she really loves me. I could never understand that until I held my daughter for the first time."

Rosalie listened to Renesmee and she did have to agree that Renesmee was a great mother, but Nessie had other responiblities besides Alicia. "Nessie, there is no doubt that you are a great mother to Alicia, or that you love her as much as your mother loved you, but she is not your only responsiblity." Rosalie said as she looked down at Alicia. She had grown alot since her birth. Rosalie was happy for Nessie but she also knew that Alicia needed to be around the rest of the family as well and Nessie was not going that. "I know that you do not like conflict, and in true neither do I, but it is a part of our lives as immortals. However, keeping Alicia away from the rest of the family is not right either, Nessie. You were raised by all of us until you left from London. We should be a part of Alicia's life as well. Beside's she will be the next generation in our family and if your parents ever decide to step down as the Royal couple of the vampire race, the position is first your and then Alicia's. She needs to learn ours ways, just as you did as a child. I know that you have chosen to live your life without hunting or using your gifts, thought you used to love your gifts more than talking. Anyway my point is that Alicia needs to know our ways so that she can make her own decision, just as you did. I don't blame you for the choices that you have made, but turning your back on your family is not the right chose to make, Renesmee." Rosalie said in a soft tone so that she would not upset Alicia. Rosalie loved her niece and grand-neice and did not want to hurt either of them, but she had to make Nessie see that staying away from the family was not the right choice. The family loved Nessie and almost mourned her absence.

Renesmee shifted Alicia in her lap as her daughter began to wiggle impatiently as she bounced on her legs. In the past few weeks, she noticed a lot of growth in her daughter's physical and mental capabilities that stunned her entirely. She had known that she had grown at a phenominal rate, but never expected her own child to grow so quickly since she had a lot more human in her than she did herself. Alicia's growth was now beginning to rapidly pick up as she progressed month by month, which both worried and astounded Renesmee. As she tried to keep her daughter entertained, she listened to Rosalie. "It's not that I'm turning my back on my family," she defended herself in a gentle voice. "I only wanted to keep Alicia from all the high emotions that were running in the family because she was a newborn and I didn't feel the need to expose her to that so young." Alicia began to squirm a little more, so Renesmee stood and bounced her up and down on her hip to entertain her for a few more moments. "She doesn't deal with things the way I did as a child because she has more human in her than I did," she explained softly, knowing that Rosalie would understand where she was coming from.
"And I don't really think that Alicia would be accepted as vampire royalty anyway because she is a third wolf," she said, knowing that it was the truth. There had never been another of her daughter's kind as far as they knew, so she was the most unique thing to their world, even more so than Renesmee herself. A child that had both wolf and vampire was not something anyone had ever heard of in the entire history of vampires, even pre-dating the Volturri. It had always been well known that wolves and vampires were enemies, but she and Jacob were special to the cosmos of their world. The rules that predestined their hatred for each other were nil the moment Jacob had set eyes on her after she was born.
Looking to her aunt again, Renesmee sighed and kissed her daughter's cheek again. "I want to be around the family again and I want Alicia to know everyone," she said slowly. "But I would like the chance to make things right with some people first before I bring Alicia. Do you think I could do that first?"

Rosalie thought about what Nessie was saying and though she could not understand where Nessie was coming from, she did try to sympathize with her. "Nessie, fix what ever you need to fix, but do it quickly. Your family needs you and you can not run and hide every time things go wrong." She said to her. Rosalie knew from experience that their life would always be full of some sort of trouble. In all the years that she had been a vampire, there were few that were not filled with some sort of danger to them. "Our family will always be at risk, especial now that we are the royal family." Rosalie said as she stood.
"Nessie I said what I came to say. Now I must return to Jasper, he needs me more than every right now. He is still having trouble dealing with what happened in Florida. I am worried about leaving him alone for to long." Rosalie said as she walked toward the door. She had her hand on the doorknob, when she turned around and looked at Nessie and Alicia. "Nessie, we all love you. You are the most precious of gifts that your mother gave our family when she joined us. You have to stop thinking so much like a human though and start thinking like a vampire again. I think that you have forgotten who you were as a child. Maybe you need to find that person again and be at peace with who you are." Rosalie said and then she turned to leave.

Renesmee pressed her lips to Alicia's soft hair and breathed in the scent of her child. Everything about the last few months had been about her daughter; all that she did was for the safety, well-being, and protection of her little one. "I know our family will always have threats, but Alicia isn't like I was as a baby," she said softly. "She is more human and therefore, more fragile." She sighed absentmindedly and shifted the baby from one side of her lap to the other as Alicia's eyes began to droop with sleep. "It's not that I'm making excuses. I am only thinking about the reality that my daughter is not as indestructable as I was. I know that I'm half-vampire and I have no problem with that, but Alicia isn't and that makes her vulnerable."
Holding her half-sleeping child, she got up from the couch and stepped a few feet closer to her aunt. Coming a little closer, she wanted to make her aunt see just how much all of this had affected her and hopefully give her some understanding of why she had been so aloof from the family. Placing her free hand on Rosalie's ice-cold cheek, she displayed some of her memories from the last few months in a montage. There was the distinct memory of almost going into labor early when Jasper left, being attacked by Will and actually giving birth to Alicia, and Jasper's sudden return that all played through her thoughts. She also began giving a few memories of the nights she had spent crying after Jasper's return because she was so torn by what to do. When she let go of her aunt, she took a step back. "I haven't forgotten how to use my power," she explained. "And I will talk to Jasper as soon as I have the opportunity to."

Rosalie listened to everything that Nessie said about Alicia and Rosalie knew that Alicia was not as strong as Nessie. Rosalie also knew that the family would never let any harm come to Alicia. "Nessie, you know that we would protect her with our lives, just as we did you. We would never let any harm come to Alicia." Rosalie said to Nessie as she watched Nessie moving towards her.
When Nessie touched Rosalie's cheek and the visions started, Rosalie almost jumped. It had been decades since Rosalie had seen Nessie's vision's in her head. Nessie had been a baby the last time. Rose watched the vision's and nodded to Nessie. "I know that you are scared but you don't have to be. Jasper is not leaving again." Rosalie said to her. Rosalie thought for a moment and then heard Nessie speak. Rosalie turned for the door again and looked back over her shoulder to answer Nessie. "Talk to Jasper first if you must, but understand that he is not the same Jasper anymore. He will not stand for any self pity from anyone anymore. Jasper is much changed from his time in Florida." Rosalie said to her as she left the house. Rose knew that Jasper would not be as nice with Nessie and that he was more than likely going to hurt Nessie's feelings again, but Rosalie could not shield her from that hurt. Rosalie knew that she would have to deal with Jasper in her own way just like the rest of the family.

Listening to Rosalie, Renesmee knew that their family would protect Alicia from any harm that might come her way...but as a mother, she still worried about her daughter's safety as any other mother would. She knew her own mother had done the same when she was just a baby as well. And as Rosalie spoke of Jasper, Renesmee knew that no one was going to give up until she spoke with him. She only nodded as her aunt left the house before she shut the door behind her. Alicia had finally fallen asleep and was lightly snoring in her arms. Smiling at her child, she walked back to the nursery and laid her down in her crib, tucking her little blanket that Nathaniel had given her after birth around Alicia.
Sitting down in the rocking chair, she thought of everything that had happened over the last few months. She had come home from London and been reunited with Jacob, which was the best feeling in the world. They had gotten engaged, which should have proved to be a happy time but was only overshadowed by her beloved Aunt Alice leaving after a fight with Jasper. From there she was married to Jacob and came home from her honeymoon pregnant with Alicia. During that time, Lexie gave birth to the twins everyone thought were Jasper's. Alice had come home in time for the wedding, but there was no reunion between her and Jasper. After that, Jasper left and had only just come home. She gave birth to Alicia. And now...well now they knew Lexie lied, the twins were never Jasper's, and he never cheated on Alice. It was a lot to take in as Renesmee massaged her temples lightly. It wouldn't be easy to talk to Jasper after such a long time, but she knew that she would have to...and soon.
