Lexi had arrived back at LaPuch but before she went to Quil's house, she had to go to First Beach. Some of her best memories as a teenager were here on this beach. Lexi parked her truck and got out. She crossed onto the sand and took off her shoes. Lexi loved the feel of the sand in her toes. Lexi head for the water's edge and started walking along it. She thought back to the summer before she found out and the fun that she had with Quil here on the beach. All her memories were of her and her cousin. She thought about that and smiled. Quil was her best friend and now he would be so different. She knew that he had stopped phasing long ago for Claire. She loved Claire like a sister, but she was unsure of how time had changed that relationship.

Lexi continued down the beach to the rocks and up to the driftwood bench that was still there. She sat down and started to wonder if returning was the right thing to do. Most of the wolves from her generation had stopped phasing years ago. She was one of a few remaining and she had been gone for a long time. She had not phased in days, because she was wanting to surprise everyone, but she was still worried about the homecoming that she would received.

Natasha was back at the beach she seemed to be spending a lot time there lately it might be because she still had not found much to do in the area. When she was 'younger' Natasha usually found a lot to do but back then she also knew a whole different group of people. Most of them where different now all grown up and old, well they looked older then Natasha and where at two different points in their lives. Sometimes Natasha wished there was more to her like them floating about remembering the past over and over again. Maybe it was time for her to grow up and stop hoping she would find her imprintee after thirty years she thought she would find the person she was meant to be with but she still was all alone.

Natasha took a deep breath and when she did, a familiar scent from the past filled her nose. At one point she though she would never see Lexi again but looking down the beach and smelling her scent Natasha now knew this was no longer true. Wanting to get to Lexi quicker, Natasha ran down the beach and waved in her direction. " Lexi!" She yelled.

Lexi was lost in her memories when she heard a voice that she never expected to be in LaPush. Lexi looked up to see Natasha running towards her and waving. Lexi smiled a huge smile. She and Natasha had become great friends when Natasha was dating her cousin Quil. That thought brought back a ton of memories with it. Lexi stood up from the bench and waved back. "Tash" She yelled back.

She was over joyed to see Tash and she knew that things were going to be fine now. If Tash was back home to then at least Lexi had one girl pal that still looked as young as she did. "What are you doing back here?" Lexi asked her as she got closer to her. Lexi wanted the through her arms around Tash and hug her.

Natasha wrapped her arms around Lexi and hugged her back as hugged her. She let go and answered her question, "I don't Really know why I came back it might be that I felt like I need to come home after so long. It did not matter on how many places I had been I never felt like I was home. Also I thought thirty years was long enough to be away from the people I love. Natasha gave a half smile. She still cated about Quil but still had not found the need to face him, or Claire. The difference these day was Natasha had grown up and realized Quil was just her friend, And nothing would happen in between them. Time away had a change way of changing the way people viewed life.

Natasha felt the need to ask Lexi the same question she wanted to know why she was back in La Push. Now that I told you I was back what is your reason for returning Lexi. I mean it been a dog age since you been in La Push, why did you chose ot come back now? Natasha wanted to ask if she had seen Quil yet or what was up with his life be she knew it was not the right thing it ask at this moment .

Lexi understood perfectly when Tash explained why she came back. Lexi felt the same way. She missed her family and friends. She knew that LaPush was where she belonged and she knew that with Jacob's new baby, he would need her home. Though he had never said so, when she was phased. When Tash asked her why she had come back she thought for a minute before answering. "I came home for a couple of different reasons. First, I knew that with Jake and Nessie having a baby, they would need all the experienced wolves on the look out. Second, there is an opening for a Wildlife Biologist in the area. I can work and be home. I have the best of both world. Lastly, I was missing home to much these days. Everytime I phase, I hear the voices of the pack calling me home." Lexi said the her friend.

She wondered if Tash had seen any of the old group. "Have you been around to see any of the ones that are still around? I just got here and come straight to the beach for some reason. You are the only one that knows I am home." Lexi said to Tash. Lexi knew that she was going to have to see Quil soon. Though she thought that she might go see Jacob first since he was the alpha.

Natasha nodded slightly she understood Lexi reason also. " I have offered to take all the patrol hours Jake does not want to do. I also offered to take over some alpha duties but i am a bit unsure of what he thinks of that. yeah a least I came to help him right? That's pretty great you found a job around here I would love to find a job but finance wise I don't have to worry I asked Alice years ago where to invest my money her predictions never let me down. I would not mind finding a job here but my degree in human biology does not mean much in this area. ans there she was Just like old times talking a lot again. Natasha felt like she had a excise to and that was thirty years of absence form the others. Natasha smiled and Ran her fingers thought the bottom of her long hair, she to had not may of the older wolves expect of Jacob and Delilah. Delilah had now stated a family too and she had two children, twins it almost made Natasha sad not having a family of her own.

"Well I have seen Del, she is engaged and has two young children now also. I Was pretty shocked when I found that out and a little jealous to I admit." Natasha was surprised Lexi did not go see Quil yet her was her cousin, but Natasha did the exact same thing. Natasha had a visit with Delilah before she had gone and seen Jacob it was not on purpose thought she went to the old house and no one was home. "I don't think may of the others know I am back either I told Jake to let me do around visiting hr others at my own pace after such a long time away there is a lot to take in.

Lexi listened to Tash talk and she was glad to have her friend around again. It was so much like old times that Lexi slipped back into that groove perfectly. "Have you talked to Carlisle aobut a job in one of the Lab's at the hospital. I bet he would help you." Lexi commented when Tash was talking about a job. Lexi smiled when Tash started talking about money and Alice's stock tips. Lexi knew exactly what Tash meant, because she had done the same thing. In fact most of the wolves had. Thanks to Alice Cullen the reservation was not that poor anymore.

Lexi heard Tash talk about Del and she knew that she would have to get by there and see her to. "Wait if she has kids, then that means that she has stopped phasing and that she will start to age now. What made she decided to do that?" Lexi asked to Tash. Lexi knew that if she ever imprintee, she might consider stopping, if she imprinted on a human, but she did not see that happening. She had been around the world and never found that one.

Lexi knew that she was going to have to see Jacob and Quil soon, but she was afraid of the latter. "I know that Jake has not changed and is still as young as every, but I am worried about seeing Quil. I know that he is not young anymore. I wonder how he was feel seeing me after all this time." Lexi said to her, knowing that Tash would understand.

Natasha felt stupid, she had never though about Asking Carlisle if he could find her a job a the Hospital. In the past she would have never thought of asking Carlisle for a job but now it was different times the Cullen and the park where like family.. in Natasha case he Carlisle sort of was."You know Lexi that's a great idea maybe when I think I am ready for a job here I will ask him. Natasha smiled. As she Talked with Lexi it felt like the thirty years Natasha spent parted could have only seemed like a day the whole conversation felt normal and natural.

"Del Has stopped Phasing for a little While but her fiance Noah is a newer wolf to Jacob's pack and her babies are going at a bit of faster rate soon as they are about the size of one year olds she is going to begin to phase again".Natasha explained to Lexi. Natasha would not mind if she found her imprintee to settle down and grow older but at this point in her life she still had not found anyone she was willing to stop phasing for. When she was with Quil she thought she would just stay young with him forever but his imprinting on Claire changed everything. When Lexi mentioned his name Natasha knew she had to keep herself together.Ya Jake looks the same and if I know Quil which i am not to sure of he will love to see you. Your his family." Natasha smile fell from her face a bit. " I don't know how he will react to know I am back in town though."

Lexi listened to Tash talk about Del and was happy for her. Lexi had never thought about stopping phasing long enough to have kids and then phase again later, but if Del's beau was a wolf to then she could understand. "I think that is great for Del. I really should see her too. I have so many people to see, now that I am back. I still don't know where I am going to stay. I don't think that it would be good for me to stay with Quil." Lexi said.

Lexi continued to listen to Tash talk about Jake and how he was doing. "Yeah, I have not seen Jake in thirty years, but we have always been in contact through our minds when I was phased. That is why I have not phased since I decided to come home. I did not want him knowing. I wanted to surprise everyone." Lexi said to her. Then Lexi caught the expression on Tash's face as she talked about Quil. "Tash, its been thirty years, I am sure that Quil will be happy to see you." Lexi thought about all the changes that the pack had been though over the years. "Though we have not changed physically over the years, we have changed mentially. We are not those teenagers, that we look like anymore." Lexi said to her as Lexi looked down at her young body.

I know Del would love ot see you, and as for a place to stay I might have you covered Billy's old house is empty besides me. Jake is living in a bran new place build on the boundary line. Edward and his family built it for them as a wedding gift so Jake is living there now I would not mind some coumpany. Natasha was happy to offer Lexi a place to stay that was what friends were for it would also give them more time to talk more afterwords. When Lexi mentioned about not phasing since she had been back back Natasha nodded she understood what Lexi was saying. When Natasha left she took a more drastic step then Lexi did she resigned he position in the pack and left. She did not want the others knowing what she was going through at the time so she saw it as the best thing ot do for herself. " Well Jacob will be happy to know even after thirty years the wolf girls are still faithful. "She laughed a bit before listen to what Lexi had to say about her Quil comment.

Natasha knew Lexi was right it had been thirty years and they where all grown up but when she left Natasha never said goodbye to him or any of the other the only one who she said good bye to was Jacob after she resigned he place a s a member of the pack, which now since returning she had spoken to Jacob and asked to be considered a member again. "You think he wont hate me because I never said goodbye? It was just to hard after leaning that he imprinted to face him then. Knowing the one person you deeply cared for lived to love someone else sorta of puts you in a slump.I am all over that know knowing he is happy." Natasha looked at her self also after thinking a it more about what Lexi said about their bodies. "I guess we are both pretty hot for being fifty. [/b]

Lexi heard Tash offer for her to stay at the Black house with her and Lexi smiled. "I would love to stay with you, Tash. I know about Jake's new house. I never cut contact with the pack. I am still part of the pack mind when I phase. That's why I haven't phased. I wanted to surprise them." Lexi said to her. Lexi had become close to Tash when she was dating Quil, they were best friends in no time. Lexi knew that things were different now, but so much was still the same. Lexi heard Tash talking about Quil, and smiled. She knew her cousin and he was not one to hold a grudge. "I think that Quil will be happy to see you, Tash. Time changes things, I don't think that he would be mad that you did not say goodbye. I was not mad, I understood. I think that he did to." Lexi said to her.

" Well I was surprised to see you I know the other will be also. " Natasha knew how close the park was in the past she just hoped maybe they could be like that again but in a different scene they no longer we young and had all those teenage hormones coursing though their veins. Natasha knew Lexi was right about everything Natasha was just letting her past decisions take control of he life which she should now. " Well if we wants ot see me or not when you see Quil tel him I am back. It might be better if he know before I just show up on his door step. Natasha knew she had to let go of her anxieties that she left behind in La Push that now seemed to feel as thye had come back and she had to need to push thme ot the back of her mind. Natasha began to walk down the beach motion Lexi to fallow also She slipped of her flip and letthe cool water touch her feet.

Lexi knew that Tash and Quil's past was just that the past. She knew that is was hard on Tash though, losing Quil the way that she did to Claire, when Claire was just a toddler. "I will tell him that you are back, when I see him." Lexi knew that soon she would have to go see Jake and Quil. She needed to let them know that she was home for good. Lexi thought back over all the old pack and the ones that were no longer phasing. Lexi knew that it would be interesting to say the least, dealing with the new generation of wolves, that was the pack.

Lexi stood up and followed Tash down the beach. She walked on the edge of the water, just out of reach of the waves. Lexi looked out over the horizon and the islands in the bay. "I am so happy to be back home. I missed this place so much while I was away." Lexi said to Tash as she turned to walk again. "Tash, why do you think it is that the female wolves, don't seem to imprint like the males? I mean I know that until our generation, there had never been a female wolf, but then Leah, you, and me all phased. I often wondered why we never imprinted, if it was just because we have not found the right person, or if it has something to do with our gender." Lexi spoke as she looked down at the sand. She knew that part of the reason that she left was because she could not watch any more of the pack imprint. It was hard enough on her when she was phased and part of the pack mind.

Thanks Lexi, he might need some fair warning before I just show up on his door step."Natasha smiled slightly and walked on, "you know because it not everyday your girlfriend from to long again in the past shows up looking just the same now as the day she left...Actually I think I look even better. Natasha added striking a pose she remember the day the Girls would used to bug the boys telling them that they were prettier wolves ad had better bodies. just thinking aout it again Natasha could help but to laugh. It was sort of shocking for males from having a pack with all males and suddenly so quickly have the female population of shape shifters almost a half of their numbers must have been a shock. When the topic of imprinting came up Natasha was just as unsure about it as Lexi was but form what she learned from Del females can imprint also.

Del told me she imprinted on Noah, but look at her she is fifty, She had not imprinted till now. I remember being told it was rare for it to happen but it seemed like all the guy imprinted. I have not see or heard from Embry in a long time do I don't know if he imprinted or not but Sam, Paul, Jared, Quil, Jake and now Del. There might be a chance out there for us females or not maybe we will just have ot fall in love the old fashioned way. If I don't find someone soon maybe I will try putting up in the vampire personals. " Natasha added as a joke she could just see it nowHow good would this sound fifty year old shape shifter who looks twenty seeks a vampire who loves her scent to spend eternity with." Natasha finished and busted out in to laughter.

Lexi was walking with Tash and listening as she talked about Quil and the past. Lexi laughed when Tash posed showing off her body. "Yeah not many almost fifty years old, could look the way that we do." Lexi said with a big grin on the face. Lexi thought back on the old days with the pack and the way that the girls used to act. She knew that they had given the boys hell in those days, but it was fun to annoy them when they were younger. Now they were mature women, though they still looked like teenages.

Lexi listened to Tash as she talked about Del imprinting and that gave her some hope. "Well then maybe we will find our mate's in this new generation." Lexi said with a slight grin. She was happy the way that she was, but she could not say that it was not lonely. Lexi wanted someone to share her life with. When Tash mentioned the vampire personals, Lexi almost fell to the ground laughing so hard. "I could totally see that first date, Tash. Both of you with wrinckled noses, trying to get to know each other." Lexi said wrapping her arms around her as she laughed.
