It had been quite a few days since Jasper's return from Florida and the mission to retrieve his children, yet Alice still could not bring herself to return to the mansion to face him. Nor could she even begin to think through how she was going to break up with Evan. He was a good man and her best friend, only ever faithful to her, and she had betrayed that by falling in love with her ex-husband again. Bringing Jasper out of Florida had awkakened so many feelings within Alice that she was overwhelmed by them all. And this just made her wish he was near even more so that he could control her emotions and she could feel some peace about anything. She hated feeling so incapacitated because that was not who she was at all. But, Jasper was all she had really known in her life. He had been the first memory she had ever known after waking to her new life as a vampire; the only life she remembered. He had loved her so unconditionally and she loved him back the same way from the moment he had taken her hand in the diner. From the very beginning he had been her future, but she never imagined it would be like this a century later.
Alice wandered the entire western coast, just trying to take her mind away from everything she was thinking about, but it didn't really help at all. During her wanderings, she let a lot of her emotions take hold and control her, becoming angry when she wanted to and to the point of non-existent tears at others. She thought of Evan; how he had always been there for her and never betrayed her. He loved her without question, even if she had started their relationship with a broken heart. It was unfair to him she knew, but they had continued their relationship into engagement as her heart mended itself from the Jasper disaster. And then she thought of Jasper. She remembered little things about him, like her favorite scar that was right behind his neck. Even just the little things like that made her sad and made her think of the better times. As she roamed, she moved from the west coast toward the inside United States.
Drifting aimlessly, she ended up at the place where it all began. Alice was surprised that the diner where she and Jasper met was still standing. Walking in, she found a seat at the original counter where she had waited for Jasper before, only this time she knew he wasn't coming. Everything inside the diner had been refurbished, but looked very much the same as it did when she met him. Sitting at the counter, she thought about how much she loved him then and still did. Alice sat there for hours and just thought of everything. Her heart bled. She stayed there until it closed before heading back to Forks. Once she arrived, she knew that her family would be worried about her, but she wanted no one else but Bella to talk to. Pulling out her phone as she got to the mountains near Forks, she sent a text message.
Bella I made it back to town. Please meet me in the mountains outside of Forks; I need someone to talk to. -Alice
After sending the text, Alice hopped onto a nearby boulder and sat down to wait for Bella to arrive. There were several things she needed to confess to her sister. She hoped that deep down, Bella would understand everything that was going through her heart and perhaps understand what she had decided.

Bella stood motionless as she stared at the window inside the living room of the Cullen mansion. Her arms were tightly wound amongst each other, and if she were capable of having a worry line seared between her eyebrows she was sure that it would have happened by now. She understood all too well the pain in feeling as though you were forced into choosing between two men, not knowing what would happen, or how everyone would be effected. Her mind drifted quickly to Jacob as another of her human memories flew to the front of her mind. “I’m sorry that I can’t be the right kind of monster for you, Bella,” The defeat in his voice was what had shook her to the core more than anything, the feeling that she had actually crushed his spirit and made him feel as though he wasn’t worthy. She turned her head to the side, looking down at the ground as she reminded herself that everything had worked out exactly the way it was supposed to. But she still couldn’t escape that feeling that she had given him the biggest heartache that up until that point, he had ever felt. Bella looked back out the window as she listened to the tick of the clock. Many chimes of the clock had sounded since Bella had seen Alice last, but she understood her departure. There was so much involved in her journey back to Jasper. Bella walked away from the window as she thought about how little by little her family was piecing itself back together, and was hoping that after everything that they had experienced, that they would be able to be even stronger and have a closer bond than they had before. The reconciliation of Jasper and Alice was certainly on the brink, but it was also important that they both feel that the trust of their relationship is reestablished. It was just the beginning of what they were about to go through, and Bella could only wish that everything would run its course smoothly.
Bella ran her fingers over a picture frame that held a few pictures of Edward in them. She smiled to herself, pleased at their life that they had lead together. She pursed her lips together for a moment. Whenever she looked back to the “triangle” that existed between herself, Edward and Jacob, she always factored in the pain that she had inflicted on Jacob, but seldom did she take into consideration the pain that she had inflicted on Edward, and how it must have been devastating to him to see her have to struggle between making a choice. She wondered how often he had felt betrayed, or if he had been more understanding in the situation. She retreated her hand away from the glass before she heard the vibration of her phone begin to set off before it actually rang. Bella took the few steps into the kitchen quickly as she took her phone from the counter, an instant smile crossing her face as she saw that the message was from Alice. Quickly reading the message, Bella gave a sigh of relief, out of habit. Bella placed her phone in her pocket as she quickly made her way out the door.
The wind whipping against Bella’s hair felt nice, she had been in the home so often over the past few weeks that she had hardly any chance to be outdoors. Her eyes flashed to the side as she realized that she should probably take advantage of being out of the house to go for a hunt later before she returned home. Bella ran faster towards the mountains as she tried to imagine what may have been on Alice’s mind. The last time they spoke they had come to the decision that Alice was still in love with Jasper. A love like theirs wasn’t something that could be tossed to the side, it was deep and in their souls, and though it may be painful for them to admit at how they have hurt each other, in the end it would be worth it. Whatever Alice was going through, Bella would be there to try and console her the best that she was capable of. It should not surprise Bella that Alice would want to talk to her of all people about this, considering how she had been through something similar. Bella smiled as the familiar scent suddenly invaded her nostrils, forcing her to come to a halt as she closed her eyes, taking it in again. She opened her eyes quickly, running deeper into the mountains until she found her pixie sister sitting on a boulder.
Bella stood motionless for a moment as she looked over at her sister. Even in a constant state of beauty, Bella could tell this had been weighing heavily on her mind. Bella took a few steps closer to the boulder before she sat on one opposite of Alice, bringing her arms around her legs as she looked over her. “I am so glad that you have found your way home.” Bella gave a soft smile as looked away for a moment. She knew that her sister had some things that she would like to discuss, Bella just wasn’t ready to force it out of her and was prepared to let Alice take her time in saying how she felt through everything. “ I hope that your time away has given you enough time to think through everything,” Bella spoke quietly as she took in a breath by habit, happening to take in the scent of a few mountain lions. The thirst lashed in the back of Bella’s throat as she pushed it to the back of her mind.

While waiting for Bella to arrive, she thought of all the things that could happen now that she was home. There was no easy way to go about breaking up with Evan and hurting him in the way she had to, but she knew that it would be better for him in the long run to not love someone who had already given her heart to someone a long time ago and never really gotten it back. She thought of how much hurt would come of breaking Evan's heart. Alice had never done something so horrendous in her entire existence and was not looking forward to doing so. Please let it be quick and as painless as possible for him, she pleaded in her mind. I could never hurt him more than I have to.
A light breeze flowed through the air and Alice caught her sister's scent as she approached. She knew that telling Bella all that she had gone through the last few days emotionally was probably the last thing she wanted to do, but she knew that it would help her and perhaps give her the strength she needed to let Evan go. As Bella approached, she remained silent and just looked at her sister with the utmost sincere look of sisterly love and affection. Alice was glad she had Bella to talk to about her problems. Even though she loved Rosalie to death, they could never talk the way she and Bella could. Bella was her best friend, even if they were almost a century apart in birth years. The friendship she shared with Bella was one she would have liked to have had while she had been human. And one of the best things about Bella was that she never forced Alice to talk before she was ready.
Looking over at her sister as she sat on the next boulder, Alice gave a faint smile at the mention of finding her way home. No matter where she went in this life, she would always find her way back to Forks and the Cullen family. She had done it when she left for England and this time again, only her trip was much shorter in comparison. "There is so much I have to tell you Bella," she began, shifting so that her knees were drawn up to her chest. Her tiny frame was nearly swallowed by the sheer massiveness of the boulder beneath her. "While I was gone, I did think about so many things; not everything entirely, but a lot of the things that have been plaguing my mind these last few months." Alice bit her lip and looked away for a few moments. If she was going to tell Bella, now was the time to do it; away from everyone in their family. "I thought mostly about Jasper..." she continued. "Bella, I kissed him while we were in Florida. Well, he kissed me first but I did not fight it and actually ended up kissing him back. And I felt something when he kissed me. Something I have not felt in a long time, not even when Evan kisses me." Pushing back some of her short hair from her face, Alice looked to her sister again. "I thought about that kiss the entire time I was gone. And I even went back to the diner where Jasper and I first met."

Bella sat extremely still as she listened to her sisters’ confession. A small look of shock was triggered through the raising of her eyebrow but she immediately lowered it back to a stoic gaze. Bella had just found out recently that Alice had even gone to Florida in the first place to help Jasper, and was doing her best to not begin a line of questions on that; for instance why she never said anything to Bella, when Bella would have been so willing to follow her and assist in any way that she could. Bella understood as she mentioned how not even the kiss with Evan could ever amount to the way that Jasper and she had kissed in Florida. She clenched her jaws lightly, as she remembered the soft warm kiss that Jacob had given her, and how it had everything soft and human about it, yet it was the kiss from Edward that she craved, that kept her awake at night as a human forcing her heart to beat and put a perpetual fire into her soul. Bella gave a small nod of understanding, though frustrated at the fact that Alice still seemed to be ashamed that she had feelings for her ex-husband, while she was seeing another man. Though in theory it wasn’t true, Bella had always sort of seen Evan as the other man. Jasper had wronged her sister in such a way, that she wasn’t entirely sure that she would be able to forgive him, that is until she saw the impact of his absence made on their entire family.
Bella let another few moments before she looked up at Alice with a quizzical look, “You’re ashamed of this?” Bella did her best to be understanding. She stood from the boulder quickly, leaping over to the one being occupied by Alice as she sat neatly next to her, folding her arms around her legs. “You love Jasper, Alice. No matter how much he hurt you, you wouldn’t have been able to kiss anyone with as much passion as that that you both held,” Bella gave a small smile, “Plus, considering Jasper’s ..abilities, I’m sure that it heightens,..everything.” Bella gave a quiet laugh with a smirk as she laid her head on her sister’s shoulder. “ Do not feel ashamed for what you’ve done,” Bella looked over the tops of the mountains as she realized that Alice had mentioned going to the small café where she had met Jasper for the first time, other than her visions. It always amazed her, the beauty of their relationship and how Jasper had been so willing to follow her. “ Do you remember, how trusting Jasper was the day you met? To take your word and follow you wherever you would go?” Bella made a face as she spoke, realizing how silly it was to ask Alice if she had remembered anything, of course she had, “ I know he has wronged you, but in this situation, you should give him the same trust. Maybe not today, or tomorrow. But eventually, follow him blindly the way he followed you,” Bella took a deep breath and sighed, taking in the scents of the mountain. She was always amazed at how dull her human senses had been.
Bella looked up to Alice, eager to know what exactly had driven Alice to the café. It seemed as though she already accepted that she loved him, and that her main priority was to find a way to end things with Evan and to slowly ease her way back into a relationship with Jasper, all the while building the trust back as a foundation. Though she had many questions, she was also understanding. Bella pursed her lips as she set her chin on the top of her knees. Had anything happened to her and Edward’s relationship at this point, she was almost certain that she would find her way back to the meadow, to lay out in the sun and think of the first memories they had shared together. Bella sat quietly for a few more moments before she looked back at Alice, wanting nothing more than to be able to carry this burden for her. She was frustrated when she first heard that Jasper had kissed Alice, if only for a moment. The thought of him leading her on in any sort of way, when she was so clearly throwing herself out there was enough for Bella to collect a low growl before she had to remind herself that he had in fact returned. Bella moved the hair that had fallen over her face and placed it behind her ear as she quietly waited for her sister to respond. She gave a soft smile, she was so used to her family members coming to talk to her now, if only because they knew that her mind was untraceable. Bella was comforted by the fact that she never had to understand the constant struggle of someone hearing your every thought.

Alice looked away for a few moments to allow everything she had said to soak into Bella's ears while she thought of her time in the diner. Sitting there had forced her to think about everything in perspective. Jasper had been her everything from the moment he had taken her hand in that diner over a century ago. No one else in the entire world knew her better than he did. He knew her every emotion and whim from the moment he walked into her life. When they were finally married in an official ceremony, her heart fluttered from happiness as she saw him waiting for her at the end of the aisle made in the center of what was the Cullen mansion in the town they happened to be living in at the time.
Alice was pulled out her memories and thoughts by Bella's voice. She simply nodded to the question that was asked of her. Of course she felt ashamed of what she had done; kissing her ex-husband while still being engaged to Evan was betrayal in her mind. Watching her sister hop from her boulder to the one she was occupying, Alice thought more on the mind-blowing kiss that Jasper had given her in Florida followed by his cold, callous behavior that she knew was not entirely his fault. There was something behind that kiss that she could not quite figure out, but she knew that Jasper just did not kiss without a reason behind it, especially since they were divorced. She had never thought to ask him either. Everything was just so confusing that she just wanted to get home and run away to her own alone time. Listening to Bella, she knew that her sister was right about everything. She still held as much love and passion for Jasper now that she had when she first met him, despite all that they had been through and had happened. A small, hidden smile passed her lips as Bella commented on Jasper's abilities heightening passion between them. Alice took Bella's hand as her sister laid her head on her shoulder.
When Bella mentioned the diner, Alice's thoughts were once again pulled back to the day she met Jasper. Bella was right in that Jasper had trusted her blindly to go wherever she would go, which lead them to the Cullens and the life they had together. Looking into her sister's eyes as Bella lifted her head up, Alice let go of Bella's hand and wrung her tiny hands together. "Since our return from Florida, every time I think of Jasper...my mind and memories go back to that diner and the day we met," she said softly. "I had to go back to see what the magic was about that place or if it was just Jasper himself. I sat in there nearly all day, forcing myself to see the memories of him walking toward me. I had known exactly who he was and what he would become to me. And from the moment I saw him walk in, I loved him and he loved me back by some miracle unknown to me." Alice sighed and drew her knees to her chest even tighter. "Bella...love like that just does not happen everyday in human lives. I honestly think that there is just one person out there for us and Jasper is it for me. Despite all that he has done to me, to our family, and how hurt I am...I love him." Placing her chin on her knees again, she drew in a deep breath and sighed heavily. Looking out into the forest, she began to think of all the little things about Jasper that made her love him. From his caring nature to every scar that covered his perfect body. "And I want to tell him, but I am afraid of opening my heart to him again. And I think he is afraid of me too."

Bella looked up at Alice at her last comment. She understood that fear all to well, leaving yourself open to someone after you’ve already seen just exactly how much they can hurt you “ You‘re wrong about one thing,”. Bella stood off the boulder as she span around and kneeled in front of her friend. “It isn’t just rare for a human love to be found like that, it’s rare even for our kind. And we have centuries,” Bella held her hand tightly clasped around her sisters small hand, looking down for just a small moment, “ What you and Jasper had, have is one of the most magical, beautiful things I have ever seen.” Bella gave a small smile as she thought about all of the relationships within her family. Each and everyone one of them seemed to be such an amazing love story, that she wasn’t entirely sure none of them had ever considered writing a book, because no other love stories held a candle to what she saw in front of her every day.
“If it isn’t worth fighting for, or worth going through the most difficult pain you could ever imagine, just to be able to have that one moment of happiness, it isn’t worth having,” Bella thought about all of the times that she had spent, trying to be a daredevil, and frighten herself, just so that the image of Edward would overwhelm her, to be able to see him again. “ I know you love him Alice, I am so happy to see you at this point of being able to admit it to yourself. But I have to ask you to take that chance. To be willing to be hurt, for a love that I know you will never experience with anyone aside from him,” It pained Bella to ask this of Alice, knowing how scared she was to be able to open herself up to what may have happened. Alice and Jasper would never be complete with out the other. “ You’re both scared, but after talking to Jasper, I know that he would never hurt you. To be honest with you Alice, I think that you two were beginning to take each other for granted. This is almost a blessing in disguise, reawakening every feeling that you two had for each other and showing you to appreciate all of the small moments,”

Curling her fingers around her knees, Alice listened quietly to Bella. As much as she hated to admit it, she knew that her sister was right about everything. When Bella took her small hand, Alice squeezed it tightly. For the first time in her existence and since she had known Bella, she was leaning on her for help and support instead of the other way around. Alice found it ironic since she was technically the older sister, but she also knew that sometimes the older ones needed the younger ones to help them through their tough times too. Looking into Bella's eyes, she saw the compassion there that was wise beyond Bella's short years as a vampire and well-beyond her physical age of just eighteen. Alice had always known that Bella was old for her age, but this proved it in her mind.
"I am just afraid that if I take that leap of faith, Jasper will not be ready to catch me again," she said softly. Alice looked away and to the ground. It was not that she did not want to be in love with him again; it was simply whether or not he was ready for that again. There was some part of Alice that was ready to forgive her ex-husband and move past the things that had tore them apart, but she knew that Jasper was not ready to forgive himself. That was shown to her clearly on their way home from Florida. "Jasper is the kind of man that takes personal failure very hard," she continued, looking back up and pulling her hand away from Bella's to hold her knees to her chest. "The way he looked at me after that kiss in Florida was so...painful, almost like he wanted to erase it because it could have possibly hurt me." Alice took in a sharp breath that was unneccessary, but she felt like it would relieve her thoughts for a moment. "But I wanted it. More than anything I have ever wanted in my entire existence, I wanted to stay in that moment with him. Everything around us did not matter; it was just Jasper and myself."

Bella shook her head as Alice spoke, “No, Alice. That’s not the way it works.” She looked down at her sisters petite hands before she looked back into her eyes, “You don’t get to make this decision, with excuses that don’t make sense. Of course Jasper is ready to catch you,” Bella stood from where she was kneeling and took a few steps in the opposite direction. “Alice, I love you and the rest of your family, with all of my being. But if something ever happened to Edward and I, I have to admit that I don’t know if I could handle being around your family, and not be with him. His presence is to great here. Though I love you all individually, Edward is my purpose,” Bella folded her arms as she looked off over the mountain. The calm setting of the sun reached a place deep inside of her that longed for when she and Edward would spend countless hours just laying around in meadows. She narrowed her eyebrows as she made a mental note to ask Edward to take her to the meadow, knowing she would not have to explain which one. There was no other meadow, just the meadow. A sudden thought occurred to Bella, and she promised herself that she would never forget to marvel in the small moments between Edward and herself, she never wanted to take any moment with him for granted now just because she was a vampire and had eternity to spend with him.
“As much as Jasper loves this family, I personally do not believe that he would return if he wasn’t committing himself to you. He would be forced to live in this imprisonment of a world with the Cullen family, that is so dedicated to each of it’s family members. You are so much a part of that , that I don’t think he would be able to survive with us if you rejected his love, but that’s just my opinion,” Bella turned back to face Alice as she tilted her head, “ Good things in history happen to people who take a chance, who go into something blindly because they follow their passion. If you want something good out of this, you have to do the same thing, follow your passion,” Bella shook her head as she began to walk the other way, “ Love was not made to be thought about through logic,” Bella looked up at the branch of a tree and quickly jumped to it, lingering out to the branch as she let the wind rush over her, “ It’s about emotions. When you fall in love with someone, you don’t think you love them, you feel it. So for the love of God, Alice. Quit thinking so much,” Bella gave a small smirk as she looked over to her sister, wishing that her words would soak in, but knowing at the same time just exactly how difficult it would be.

Alice looked out at the sun beginning to set and thought of how many times she had looked at the sunset since opening her eyes to the only life she had ever really known. Of those countless sunsets she had seen, the majority had been at Jasper's side. She thought back to their very first sunset together, just after they had left the diner. They had left Philadelphia and went west into a nearby mountain range. When they had gone far enough from society, Alice had stopped and sat on a boulder just like the one she was sitting on now. Jasper had sat next to her and gently took her hand. Alice glanced down at her own hand and felt the ghost of her ex-husband's touch on it, like silk. "This is, perhaps, the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen," she had said to him in her angelic voice. He had looked to her and given a smile unlike any she had ever seen nor would ever see. "It's the only one I've seen in this life that's been worth seeing," he softly replied. That was when he leaned over and gently kissed her. It had been her very first kiss and one she would never forget as long as she continued to live immortally.
The memory seemed to seep in just as Bella finished talking, causing her heart to feel like it was beating again for the first time since her "death" as a human. Alice stood from her boulder and hopped to the ground, looking up at her sister. "When I'm with Jasper, I don't even think...it just happens. When he kissed me, I just let it go because I wanted it," she said, looking back to the sunset. "You know, everytime I look at a sunset I think of him because that is exactly when he kissed me for the very first time." A small smile spread across her face as the last rays of the daylight hit her tiny frame. Taking Bella's words to heart, Alice let go of every thought running through her mind and just let her heart feel. An overwhelming sense of love hit her and the only face that came to her mind was Jasper's. Every inch of his perfect face filled her mind from his blonde curls to the gold in his eyes.
Instead of pushing it away, Alice let it consume her entirely. Dropping to her knees, Alice again wished she were able to cry. All of her emotions swirled and rushed through her like a winding river all leading to one place. Everything that she had been through with Jasper was nothing now. Her heart wanted him and needed him to be there with her right then. "What do I do now?" she asked in a whisper, knowing that Bella was able to hear her from the tree.

Bella dropped from the tree limb gracefully as she took a few steps. “ You know how our lifestyle calls for certain.. Adjustments.” Bella looked over at Alice as she began to walk in a semi-circle. “ We have to become one with what nature intends, to listen to our thirst and hunger in order to survive,” Bella sat lazily on a boulder as she looked up at Alice, “ You know what to do, Alice. You and Jasper? That’s nature. Don’t fight it, just accept it. Let your thirst for him direct you back towards him,” Bella licked her lips as the mention of thirst was reminding her of the small one that was lashing in the back of her throat. She blinked her eyes, fearing that they were beginning to be more reminiscent of a black hole than of the topaz eyes she had learned to adore upon Edward. Bella thought for a moment about how true her words actually wore. If anything, Edward was just exact proof of that. His ability to see into minds, and her ability to be the one person who he cannot, was a direct correlation to nature and how they would be drawn together.
Bella reached down to dust off her shoe, cursing under her breath for not wearing more sensible ones before she looked back up to Alice. “ None of us can tell you how you’re supposed to fix this. You just have to do what feels right,” Bella stretched out on the boulder, knowing that the position would have made any human feel uncomfortable, yet she didn’t notice a single pain.

Alice stood up and began to pace in no particular pattern, thinking of all the ways she and Jasper were drawn together. It all began with her visions. She had seen his very face the instant she woke to her life as an immortal. And something had drawn him to the diner that day where she was waiting for him. From that moment when they first met, it was like magic between them. He knew her every mood and whim of emotion, while she knew every move he would make in the future. It was like two halves of a while coming together and fitting perfectly. Alice knew that from the start. And while she loved Evan, he was not her perfect match like Jasper. He was a filler for what was her true other half. While she would never regret loving Evan, she would regret breaking his heart. But, she knew that ultimately she was not his true mate either and that he would find her, wherever she might be. Stopping for a moment, she looked to Bella and stitched her eyebrows together in thought before continuing to pace.
Pressing her hands to her temples, she tried to rid herself of the horrendous headache that had errupted from trying to see so much at once. Her future was clouded with emotions and decisions that needed to be made, but even once she made them the path was not clear nor was the outcome. "I will break up with Evan," she concluded. "but I have to do this on my own time and in my own way. It won't be easy to hurt him like that. He is my best friend, aside from you. I share a special bond with him because he helped me through the darkest time in my existence." Once she had decided that, she stopped pacing and lept to the boulder once more and crouched down. "But it doesn't make my decisions about Jasper any easier. I love him, but it's going to take a lot for me to trust him again. I'm going to try, but I can't make any promises. It depends on him and if he wants win my heart back again, which if what you say is true about him coming home, then things will happen in due time."

Bella narrowed her eyebrows as she looked at Alice, “Are you really that blind?” She tilted her head slightly before she shook her head. “ Alice, he doesn’t have to win your heart back. I don’t think you understand what I am saying. I have gone through the same thing. I know you love Evan, but you’re not in love with Evan. You are and always have been in love with Jasper. He doesn’t have to win your heart back, because he’s had it since the day you met. He needs to win your trust back,” Bella took a few steps to the cliff, putting her hands in her back pockets. “ You’re making this more difficult than it really is. And that’s not on anyone else, that’s on you. I love you Alice, but you have got to get it together and realize that you can love someone without being in love with them. You’re making yourself feel guilty for being with the man you are supposed to spend the rest of your eternity with, and afraid that Evan is going to hate you for it. You’re doing him a favor, Alice. He will find love so much greater than what you could have given him.” Bella turned back towards Alice.
Bella raised her eyebrow slightly as she looked back at her sister, “ Now get yourself together, and talk to the person that you need to be talking to about all of this. No matter what any of us tell you, you’re talking to the wrong person. Because I can only tell you the same thing over and over again so many times before I might explode. You are not in love with Evan, you are and always have been in love with Jasper. You can take things slow, I would hope that you would. Evan, will be hurt at first, but you are only helping him in the long run. Now that’s all I can say to you. I am begging you to talk to Jasper, otherwise we can put this conversation on replay and have it another ten times, before we both know that you’ll end up talking to Jasper anyways.” Bella folded her arms as she looked up at her sister. It wasn’t exactly like her to last out at her sister like this, but at some point enough was enough . Her family was back and there was already enough tension and drama escalating over the return of Jasper, that the last thing Bella wanted to have to argue with Alice about was whether or not who she loved or how much she loved them, let alone who she should be with.

Alice sighed sharply, hearing the words Bella told her replay in her head like a bad CD that repeated itself for no reason. She knew that Bella was angry and frustrated with her, as was the majority of her family for that matter. Somehow, she knew that this was going to happen when she chose to bring Jasper back to Forks. But, she also knew that had she left him there she would have regretted it for the rest of her existence. Alice hated to know that loving the one person she was meant to be with hurt this much, but she would have rather known this now than marry Evan and find out later. Evan was too good of a person to do something like that to. He deserves much better than half a heart, she thought pointedly at herself. And that's all I'll ever be able to give him. Watching Bella walk away, Alice's lips slipped into a frown. She hated that her best friend/sister was lashing out at her, but she also knew that she was stubborn enough that she needed to hear it. That was her very nature and always had been. In fact, it had been something Jasper admired in her quite often. Her...persistence as he had once called it, was an attribute that drew him to her.
Standing up as Bella turned back around, Alice kicked a few pebbles off the boulder with her flat. They scattered and fell down below, sending little pink, pink, pink sounds reverberating off the boulders to her sensitive ears. A huge burden seemed to spread across Alice's shoulders as she took a few steps forward and embraced her sister. "I just need time," she whispered. "Rome was not built in a day...well, only because humans built it, but that's beside my point." A small giggle escaped her emotion ridden chest as she let go of Bella and looked out over the forest as the last rays of the sun were fading into night. "For now, I'm going to spend some time alone. I'm not ready to face the rest of the family yet, especially Rosalie in particular...I think she is still angry with me on some level. I promise I will stay close by though." Alice hopped from the boulder and to the ground with undue grace and stealth. "I love you Bella. Thank you for listening." With that, she set off into the night.
