Carlisle, was going through his usual day at the hospital, so many changes were happening at home. Some for the better, others that would cause waves in the Cullen household. Yet Carlisle realized he had to be strong and be able to keep it together. He realized though vampires may appear perfect to the general public, they too still struggle and suffer like a human being does. And now he needed to be at his best, especially since Nessie and Jacob would be introducing a new life into this world, Carlisle wanted to be sure Nessie and the baby were going to be just fine. He wanted to be able to give that assurance to Bella and Edward and especially Jacob.

Renesmee walked into the hospital for her first check up. Her belly was just beginning to round with the baby inside of her, but it was easily covered up by a spring dress. As she got inside, she went up to the reception counter and put her name down to see Dr. Cullen. The receptionist asked for her name and she replied, "Renesmee Black." When she signed in, she went over and sat down to wait for her grandfather to come and bring her back for a check up. There were others around, waiting for one of the doctors to bring them back for various things.
There was another pregnant woman nearby that struck up a polite conversation with Renesmee. "Is this your first baby? she asked in a sweet tone of voice. Nodding, Renesmee replied, "My very first." The woman smiled and chuckled. "The first is always the scariest. This is my third and I know I'm going to be fine." A little laugh came from Renesmee as she pressed her hand to her little bump that was beginning to form on her stomach. "I was a little frightened when I first found out, but I have a lot of family support. My husband is more scared than I am since this is our first." The image of Jacob's face everytime the baby was mentioned or something like that made Renesmee laugh a little more. He was such the worrier because of how her mother's pregnancy had gone with her. As she sat in the waiting room, Renesmee continued the conversation with the woman and her tension eased as she found comfort in another person who was going through a little of what she was...at least the being pregnant part.

Carlisle then would place on his doctors coat and head outside of his office and down the hall as he was expecting Nessie. From a distance Carlisle could hear the conversation between her and the woman and smiled in finding comfort that some of Nessie's fears could be brought to a resting point. He wanted to be sure to make Nessie as comfortable as possible, as he realized it was not easy for her to come foward with being pregnant as well to the whole family, yet they were all willing to support the whole way. He then came to the waiting room and smiled over at his granddaughter and greeted her as he had her chart in his hand. "Hey there Nessie, I am all set for our appointment, as soon as you are ready."

Renesmee smiled as her grandfather came through the doors and called her back for her appointment. She said goodbye to her waiting room friend and went back into the exam room area with Carlisle. Looking back at her grandfather, she bit her lip a little and said, "To be honest, I'm a little scared." And the truth was that she was terrified because she had never thought she could even have a baby and now she was. The excitement mostly overruled that; at least that's what she was telling herself.

Carlisle walked back with his granddaughter, he could see that she was scared because she was entering a whole new world. It was unchartered territory for her. She reminded him of Bella when she was pregnant with Nessie. He knew she would be just fine and wanted to give her that reassurance. He gently placed his arm around her. "Nessie, sweetie, it's ok to be scared, nothing wrong with that, you are going to be ok and the baby will be just fine. This is all normal, this just means and shows that you are ready to take this seriously and are going to be a great mother, as Jacob will be a great father as well." With that he led her in the room and shut the door behind them and had Nessie sit on the examination table as it was propped up for her to lay back on.

Renesmee laid back on the exam table and took a deep breath, listening to the words of her grandfather. He was the wisest man she knew and that was why he was the head of their family. Nodding slightly, she asked, "How far along do you think I am? Mom says that she thinks I look around four months pregnant now, instead of just being two like I really am." Renesmee automatically pressed her hand to her belly when she felt a strong kick from her baby. She giggled lightly, "It kicked! It's never done that before...is that normal?"

Carlisle smiled at that, as he could see this child was bringing happiness to jake and herself. He reached out and placed his hand on your stomach where the bundle of joy was moving around in. He smiled at her curisioty as well, it was hard to tell how far along she really was, with her being a hybrid and Jacob being a wolve as well. "The kicking, oh yeah that is normal honey and as for how far along you are, you could be close to six months or even further than that if the baby is kicking already. What I am gonna be doing Nessie is prepping a sonogram for you and Jacob, so we can see how far along you are and see what condition the baby is in."

Smiling, Renesmee laid back on the table so that Carlisle could start the ultrasound for her to see the baby for the first time. The baby kicked once more and she giggled. "Well, if this keeps up, I don't think that I will ever be able to stop laughing," she joked. Looking to her grandfather, she asked in a concerned manner, "Will the sonogram hurt the baby?" If it was one thing she was completely concerned about, it was her baby. The little one growing inside of her was everything to herself and Jacob, as well as the rest of the family.

Carlisle then stopped and looked at Nessie, he could see how much this baby meant to her and Jacob. He understood she was scared of anything involving the word test and being applied to the life force inside of her. He went over and placed a hand on her shoulder and took a hold of one of her hands to help soothe her. "Nessie, it's going to be ok and no the test won't hurt the baby, you know I won't let that happen to your child, not ever." Everything is going to be ok, this is simple and routine procedure."

Nodding and breathing deeply, she was somewhat soothed by her grandfather's words that the test would not hurt the baby at all. If it was one thing she worried about most, it was the baby. From the minute she realized that she was pregnant, she knew that nothing was more important to her than the baby inside of her; the beautiful life she and Jacob had created out of love. "Okay, I'm ready," she said softly, laying back and preparing herself to see her baby for the first time on the monitor. Something fluttered in her heart at the anticipation that she would finally be seeing her child. Her child. This was the moment she had been waiting for and the only means of seeing the baby until the birth a few weeks away. For that, she was more than excited.

With that Carlisle gently lifted up Nessies shirt to expose her belly as it was showing really well. Carlisle worked with expert percision to get Nessie set up. He wanted to make her feel as comfortable as possible. He loved and cared very much for his granddaughter, as he placed on gloves and applied the jelly to her belly and started up the machine.
Carlisle then took the wand and started to run it across her belly and started to get the first images uploaded. He smiled as the baby appeared to be very healthy and well. "If you look at the screen there Nessie, there is your baby, alive and well. The baby is doing just fine, everything is going to be ok Nessie."[/b] Carlisle waited to see Nessie's reaction and was sure to make her copies for Jacob to see as well.

Renesmee watched with fascination as Carlisle raised her shirt, put the jelly on her stomach, and ran the want of the sonogram machine across her bare stomach. That is when she saw the first images into the baby on the screen and could hear the heartbeat. "It's absolutely beautiful," she cooed happily. "My baby, my sweet little baby."
The little one on the screen came across in flashes of black and white as she picked out the baby's little fingers and then it's face. It was absolutely beautiful. The baby's heartbeat was fast and strong. "Is the baby's heartbeat supposed to be that fast?" she asked, looking back at her grandfather for confirmation.

Carlisle smiled at that very much. He found Nessie to be so adorable and was happy that she was growing up and maturing into a very responsible woman. He had all the faith in the world that Nessie would be a great mother and Jacob would be a great father as well. He continued to run through the test. "Yes that is your baby, your beautiful baby Nessie, and as for the heart beat, the baby must be really excited as well, from all the kicking. With the mix of vampire and wolve, this baby shows to be in amazing health as the heart beat sounds like the baby is already an athlete, but yes your baby is going to be just fine honey."

A flow of relief washed over Renesmee as she heard that her baby was perfectly normal...well for a vampire/human/wolf hybrid that is. She could not wait to meet the baby growing inside of her. As she continued to watch the baby on the screen and hear it's little heartbeat, she could not help but feel immense love for the baby. "I be that it is going to be as strong as Jake," she murmured. "But just as sweet and sensitive as he is."
Renesmee looked from the screen to her stomach just in time to see one little foot stick out from her skin. A giggle escaped her lips. "Definitely strong like its father," she mused. This was the beginning of the most beautiful thing in the world to Renesmee; her own family with Jacob. Her only wish was that he could be there to witness this moment, but she understood that with Will and Crystal still out there, extra patrols were neccessary to ensure her safety and the safety of their baby.

Carlisle continued to run the wand over her belly. He smiled as Nessie was more calm now that she could see the baby was doing just fine. He knew Jacob would be happy as well. They were going to have a healthy baby on the way. Carlisle smiled at the screen but then thought of Will and Crystal and realized the families would have to be on edge and tighten down on security to be sure Nessie and her unborn child were protected.
He looked over at Nessie and smiled. "You see Nessie, you were getting over anxious or nothing, you have a very healthy baby on the way. And we are all very proud of you as well Nessie. And don't worry, I know you wished Jacob could be here, but given the circumstances he can't be, but I will be sure in some way he doesn't miss out on this. I am going to make him a copy of this, so you can take it with you and share this experience together."
