Lucy danced around her room as she cleaned it up. She sang along with the songs on her ipod, because it would not be too much longer until Katelyn and Kenzie came over. One of the things that they had neglected lately was their friendship, and they would all hangout at Lucy’s to catch up. Neither of her friends knew about the perfect afternoon Lucy had out at Kaleb’s ranch. There was apart of her that was completely dreading that conversation because of the hassle her friends would give her but Lucy was also excited for them to finally know. Lucy took a few steps before split leaping the rest of the distance across her room to get the pile of DVD’s and set them closer to the TV and DVD player.
Lucy grinned to herself as a salsa song started to play in her ears and she began to dance with herself out of her room and to the hallway closet to get the air mattress that the trio would need. After rolling the extra bed into her room Lucy skipped down the stairs to grab the snacks. After plopping on her bed and listening to her music for a few more moments Lucy pulled out her cell phone and texted her two best friends, ‘Hey guys, hurry your butts up, with that pizza! My tummy is growling at me; lol. See ya guys in a bit’ Lucy clicked ‘SEND’ and put away her ipod before settling back on her bed to wait for her friends.

Katelyn was busily dancing around her room to the music blaring from her stereo system, randomly throwing items into her overnight bag including her pajamas, toothbrush and toothpaste, hairbrush, and other things she would need for the night. She was excited to spend time with her two best friends in the world, Kenzie and Lucy. It had been months since they had been together for a real sleepover, so this would be the first of many throughout the summer. Twirling around the room to the beat of the music, Katelyn tossed a few of her movies into the bag and began to pick out a few of her favorite CDs to put in there as well.
As she finished putting all of her stuff in the bag, she felt her phone vibrating in her pocket. Looking at the text from Lucy made her laugh as she typed out her reply. I just finished packing and am on my way...Kenzie's getting the pizza! When she pushed 'SEND', she slid her phone shut and grabbed her bag and pillow before running down to her car, pushing everything into the backseat and getting into the driver's side to drive over to Lucy's house. When she got there, she grabbed everything and walked right into Lucy's house, knowing her parents wouldn't mind at all since they had known each other since they were five.
Running up to Lucy's bedroom, she burst in using her usual grandeur entrance of setting her bags outside and twirling through the door. "The fuuuunnn has arrived!" she shouted, giggling as she did so.

Lucy smiled to herself as she thought of Kaleb again. That was an obvious reoccurrence lately Lucy never seemed to have trouble day dreaming about the beautiful and polite Texan. He always put her in a better mood and with a grin on her face Lucy continued on in her dream world that Kaleb would always be a part of. She made a face at her phone as in buzzed and brought her out of her dream state, but Lucy flipped in open to see that Kate had been the first to reply to her text message. Lucy grinned at her phone and tossed it back to her bed knowing it was only a few minutes before Kate would burst through the door with her own version of a grand entrance. As predicted Lucy heard Kate’s car pull into her driveway and she heard her friend enter the house. Lucy turned to the door with a smile easily in place as Kate exploded into the room shouting and laughing her entrance. Lucy playfully rolled her eyes, “Fun shumn, I want my food, feed me!” Lucy laughed and plopped down on her bed, “So what is the Katelyn update? Any more run-ins with that English guy?”

Katelyn laughed as Lucy sarcastically shrugged off her amazing entrance with her banter about her stomach. Shaking her head, she grabbed her things and threw them at the foot of Lucy's bed where all the sleepover stuff was always deposited upon arrival. Katelyn rolled her eyes and scrunched her nose as she plopped down next to Lucy on the bed. "No, nothing of interest to report here," she replied, sighing as she did so. It had been weeks since she had last seen Nathaniel and now she was starting to wonder where he had disappeared off planet earth to. "It's like he just poofed or something. I haven't seen him in a pretty long time so I don't even know what to think."
Shaking her head, she shoved off the bed and onto the floor to stretch out her legs. It was hard enough to sit still, but as a dancer she had an even harder time...especially in off seasons like summer. "Shouldn't we wait for Kenzie to talk about all this stuff anyways?" she asked in a semi-warning tone. "You know she hates being left out of the conversations." A small smirk spread from one ear to another on Katelyn's lips. She knew that mentioning Kenzie would throw Lucy's panic into overdrive because there were things that Kenzie knew that Katelyn did not...yet.

Lucy felt a little bad that Kate hadn’t seen Nate in awhile. She knew that her friend liked him and Lucy knew that she would feel a lot better leaving on the road trip if Kate had stuff to do. Speaking of road trips Lucy was nervous about bringing that up with Katelyn, because she was almost certain Kate was restricted to Forks for the summer. Lucy had also gone into this night knowing that Kate and Kenzie were going to demand with what was going on between her and Kaleb. Kate then said that they should wait for Kenzie saying that she didn’t like being left out. Lucy smirked thinking of what happened a few days ago at the diner. “Oh I can think of something to talk about that she wouldn’t mind missing out on.” Lucy could full well feel the coy grin resting on her face. The mentioning of Kenzie really didn’t bother Lucy anymore because she figured that it was time to tell her friends about all of the hang out time she had with Kaleb. Lucy frowned in thought for a moment, “Speaking of the little bugger, where is Kenzie?”

Katelyn smirked at Lucy's comment and moved around excitedly so that she faced Lucy better. "Oh do tell me!" she squealed. "I do love being in the know on things...you know me." A small giggle escaped her lips as she could not wait to hear the great gossip Lucy was going to share. It wasn't often that she got to spend time with her two best friends, especially since her parents were always on her back nowdays to behave herself so that she could get into a good college. It was rather irritating to always have them breathing down her neck every spare chance they got. When Lucy mentioned Kenzie again, she frowned and looked at her phone. "She told me she would be here in fifteen minutes...unless she got sidetracked and made a trip to La Push in those fifteen minutes," she laughed. "But she should be here soon."

Lucy laughed at Kate’s excitement and it was easy to forget the time that they had spent apart because of the move. She could tell that Katelyn was excited to hear what Lucy had to dish on and to be honest Lucy was excited to tell her. Lucy grabbed a pillow from her bed and sat on the floor with her pillow in her lap. Her smile grew as she thought back to the diner a few days ago. “Well not too long ago I was kinda hanging out with Kenzie at the diner, and Cowboy…er sorry, Kaleb came in and sat down with us. See I know that I can talk about this stuff at least since Kenz was there. Oh and speaking of she better not have gotten side tracked, I need my pizza intake.” Lucy realized that she was getting a little sidetracked and she focused back on telling Kate about the diner. “Let’s see Kaleb threw a straw wrapping at me, I put a piece of ice down his shirt, and I got to hold his hand. So are you sure Kenzie is bringing the food?”

Katelyn's smile grew wider as Lucy told her about the day at the diner with Kaleb. It made Katelyn glad to see her friend forming a bond with a boy. Honestly, Lucy was the shy type in Katelyn's opinion, so finding a guy she could be herself with was important. "Hmm...sounds like Cowboy could be just your type," she giggled and grabbed a pillow of her own. "And I'm fairly positive that Kenzie is bringing the food. She told me earlier that she was...but even if she did stop by La Push, it'll give us something to give her hell about later." Katelyn laughed again, knowing how true that statement was. Out of her best friends and herself, they picked on Kenzie the most because she actually had the boyfriend. It was something they had done since they were old enough to date and would not stop anytime soon.

Kenzie quickly threw the last of her clothes into her overnight bag before grabbing her car keys to head out the door of her house. She knew that she was running late already and she needed to still pick up the pizza for her sleepover with her two best friends. I guess Lucy's gonna have to wait a few minutes longer for food, she thought hastily as she threw her bag into her car and started the engine. She quickly stopped off at the only pizza place in Forks, ordering two pizzas and some breadsticks as well, knowing that if she brought extra food it would appease Kate and Lucy so they wouldn't grill her too badly about being late. However, if they did, she already had a really good reason as to why she was late.
Once the pizzas were ready, she grabbed them and the breadsticks before making her exit back to her car. The drive to Lucy's house was less than five minutes, which she was thankful for. Parking her car right next to Kate's, she got out and grabbed her bags, the pizzas and breadsticks, and walked right into Lucy's house. Hearing the laughter from upstairs, she knew that Kate and Lucy had already started the party. She ran upstairs and opened Lucy's bedroom door. "Sorry I'm late," she apologized quickly. "but I did bring the pizza as promised and I got breadsticks too."

Lucy was a little shocked that Katelyn didn’t grill her about the hand holding with Kaleb. She grinned at Kate though when her friend used Lucy’s nickname for Kaleb. Lucy rolled her eyes at Kate when she mentioned Kenzie bringing the pizza because Lucy meant that as a way to side track her friend from the holding hands bit. Lucy laughed again when Kate mentioned Kenzie going by La Push, “Yeah I wouldn’t put it past her.” She then thought to herself for a moment, ‘Yeah she needs to find out if Jon can go on that road trip.’ That was something else that Lucy was expecting to talk about, breaking the news to Kate about the road trip. ‘Maybe we can get lucky enough and Nathaniel could keep her company.’ Lucy grinned again at that thought and decided not to voice it.
Mere seconds later Kenzie came slightly stumbling in with a pile of food in one hand and her bag over her other shoulder. Lucy got up just as Kenzie was apologizing for being late and mentioning the extra food. She laughed at her friend and took the food from her friend so that Kenzie could put her bag down and see where she was going. “Don’t worry about being late.” Lucy said as she got a bread stick out and tossed one to her friends. She swallowed her first bite and looked between her friends, “So what should we do first? There’s movies, music, food, or even something like truth or dare.” Lucy wriggled her eye brows with a laugh and settled onto her floor.

Katelyn heard what Lucy said just a few seconds before Kenzie came in with the food. Catching one of the breadsticks that Lucy tossed her, she shoved part of it in her mouth to free her hands to help Kenzie with the rest of her stuff. Once everyone was situated with food and sitting down, she heard Lucy ask what they were going to do. Katelyn was just euphoric that her two best friends were finally in the same room with her for the first time the entire summer. There would be food, no boys, and tons of fun to be had. She was looking forward to getting all the latest gossip from each of her friends and she was certain they were going to grill her as well, but she didn't mind at all. "I vote food!" she exclaimed and opened one of the pizza boxes. "Well food and obviously some serious dishing of gossip...which I know you two have enough to share." A small laugh escaped Katelyn's lips as she picked up a piece of pizza and took a bite.

As Kenzie walked through the door, she was glad Lucy helped her get the food and Katelyn grabbed her stuff before it all came tumbling down out of her hands. After all her things were settled, she took a seat on the floor next to Katelyn on one side and Lucy on the other. Everyone began their usual chatter about what to do for the evening and Katelyn opened one of the pizza boxes, wafting the smell in Kenzie's direction and causing her stomach to rumble, reminding her that she had not eaten since earlier that morning. Reaching out for a slice, she completely agreed with Katelyn's idea of food first. "So, gossip huh?" she asked in between a bite. "Well I think that Lucy should go first and share all her adoringly cutesy Cowboy stories." Kenzie arched an eyebrow in Lucy's direction as she took another bite of her pizza. She knew that Lucy always got flustered when the topic of Kaleb came up, the way she used to when Jon would come up in conversations.

Lucy laughed when Katelyn exclaimed her vote for food. She grinned at her friends as she took another bite from the bread stick. Lucy nodded her agreement with Katelyn’s choice and then Kate started to talk about wanting to dish gossip as well. Her stomach slightly dropped at that thought because she knew that her friends were probably going to have a cow once she started to talk about Kaleb. Lucy grinned when Katelyn said that she knew that Kenzie and Lucy would have plenty of gossip to share, “Oh you have no idea Kate.” A few minutes later the three girls were enjoying their pizza and Kenzie started speaking the words Lucy had spent a good part of the summer to avoid.
"Well I think that Lucy should go first and share all her adoringly cutesy Cowboy stories” Lucy rolled her eyes with an over dramatic sigh before she started to grin, “Well all I’m going to say right now is that I actually know how to dance Two Step.” Deciding that a subject change would be in order Lucy turned to Kenzie, “What about you Kenzie? Haven’t heard about your guy, ol’ what’s his face.”

Kenzie scrunched her nose at Lucy's obvious attempt to conceal information about said Cowboy, but she knew that sooner or later she would spill whether she wanted to or not. She decided to let it slide, especially since Lucy brought up the topic of her boyfriend Jon. That was one topic that she definitely didn't mind talking about because it made her so unbelievably happy. "Well, he's been spending a lot of time down at La Push...tribe stuff and whatnot," she explained dutifully. "But we have been able to spend a little time together here and there when he's not busy. We mostly hang out at his house watching movies or occasionally we'll go out to First Beach to swim, walk on the beach, or have a picnic." A small smile broadened into a wider one as she spoke of her time with Jon.
Taking a breadstick, Kenzie tore off a bite and looked at her two best friends. She knew that they would grow tired of hearing about her endless stories with Jon, but for now she was having a good time talking about him. "Did I ever tell you two about how Jon and I actually met and started our relationship?" she asked. There were only a handfull of people that actually knew she and Jon were dating, but she wasn't sure if she had ever told Lucy and Katelyn the story of how that actually happened. It was one story she never minded telling over and over again because of how incredibly cute it was.

Lucy did not miss the face that Kenzie made an obvious face at her half hearted attempts to avoid Kaleb again. She wanted to laugh at herself because she was avoiding a subject again that she wanted to finally talk about. Kenzie then seemed to take the bait of talking about Jon and Lucy grinned as her friend continued to talk. Kenzie finished talking after a few moments and seemed to fall into reflective thought as she ate a bread stick.
"Did I ever tell you two about how Jon and I actually met and started our relationship?" Lucy shot a mock glare at her friend as she brought up something that Lucy still had a small bone to pick with. “Oh you mean the day that you met the boyfriend that you never told us about until after you’d been dating for a couple of weeks?” Lucy gave a huge fake smile before rolling her eyes with a laugh. For some reason she felt like flirty with trouble and said, “Speaking of dates and Cowboys…” Lucy left off pointedly.
