Alice had been gone for a few days, taking a trip down to Florida to check out Evan's suspisions that something was off about how the doctors were treating Jasper. Evan held no judgement for his fiancee being concerned about her former husband; after all, they were married for the better part of a century. However, he still missed her while she was away, biding his time by setting off into the woods for an extended hunting trip. He was finding out that it was getting easier with time to be "vegetarian" and resist his urges to go after humans. Alice had told him it would and he trusted her with everything.
While hunting, he also decided to take a side-trip to Seattle just to look around and possibly find a gift for Alice to come home to. He walked the streets and looked at the over-cast sky with amusement. At least us vampires can be out on this lovely day... he ruefully thought to himself, chuckling mentally. Sticking his hands in his pockets, he continued to just walk along the streets to nowhere in particular, just looking in the windows to see if he could find something that would make him think of Alice.

Addison smiled and thanked the woman that she was talking to. Her name was Luna and she had been a vampire for the last seventy four years. She was having an absolute blast everything had been going swimmingly and Addy was floored by the amount of vampires that she had been running into the last few days. Addison realized that for the most part it was the weather because the vampires of the north could come out in the day light, instead of being restricted to the indoors. Something else that had been occurring to Addy was the vampire population outside of the United States. After talking with Evan, it reaffirmed in her mind that there was no limit on where you could find her kind. She also felt though that she could not go to Europe just yet, because she wanted to meet the Cullen clan as soon as she was able.
Addison grinned to herself as she realized that she was walking down the streets of Seattle with her mail carrier bag, and an encyclopedia sized book in her arms. ‘Defiantly abnormal for being in the middle of the big city.’ A familiar sent caught Addison’s nose and she tilted her head to the side as she considered where the familiarity was from. It was then that she came around a corner to see Evan standing across the street. Addison glanced both ways like a human in danger of being hit by a car would before she quickly crossed the street. As she reached the other side the humor of the cars reached her, the only thing that would get harmed in that situation would be the front end of the car. Addison grinned to herself as she closed the distance between herself and Evan. “Hey Evan, what are ya looking for?”

Evan continued walking along the busy streets of Seattle, hands in his pockets and not going anywhere in particular. The breeze drafted right in front of him, blowing a scent he was acquainted with that he had not come across in quite a few weeks. Turning around, he saw the source herself and smiled. It had been some time since he had met Addison, but he was happy to see a familiar face. "Hi Addison," he greeted enthusiastically, taking his hands out of his pockets so he wouldn't seem rude and standoffish. "I'm just trying to find a little something for my fiancee' since she's away for a couple of days. I thought it would be nice for her to have a present to come home to."
Shuffling his feet, Evan shrugged his shoulders once. "And yet, I am having no luck at all in finding something for her," he chuckled. Looking back at Addison, he tried not to seem utterly pathetic and despairing in the hopes that she would help him find something for Alice. Having a woman's perspective would help, but he knew that Renesmee was busy with her newborn daughter, Bella was busy with the rest of the family, and Rosalie...well, she wasn't too fond of him anyways. "Do you think that you could help a friend out? I might need some perspective on what to get her," he said, giving his best smile.

Addison grinned as Evan said that he was looking for a gift for his fiancée. ‘Men and shopping rarely mix.’ Addison laughed inside of her head. The more that Evan explained the situation the more Addy wanted to laugh at how sad his situation was. She knew that it was rude but she good feel a grin splitting her face from ear to ear. When Evan finally built up to asking if Addy would help him a small giggle escaped, “Yeah I would help you even if you weren’t a friend. I don’t think guys really have any business shopping alone, especially if it is for their fiancée.” Addison grinned good naturedly, “So what ideas do you have so far?” Addison thought about something however, ‘Doesn’t he have future sister in laws that could help him? Oh well he probably wants it to be a huge surprise or something.’

Evan watched in embarrassment as Addison seemed to enjoy his squirming. In all honesty, he would rather have an opinion of someone who knew what she was doing rather than looking like an idiot whenever he gave Alice her gift. He smiled when she accepted, thanking whatever god sent Addison to him so that he would not look like a moron. "Yeah, I think that's why women were granted all the shopping genes," he joked, knowing how true it was, especially for his fiancee. Alice was the expert shopper and knew exactly where to look for everything. Sticking his hands back in his pockets, he smiled and looked at Addison.
"I haven't exactly nailed down what I'd like to get Alice," he admitted sheepishly. "I know that I want to get her something special. Something that would have a particular meaning to her. I was considering having a locket made for her, but I didn't know if that would be lame or not." Evan looked to Addison and shrugged his shoulders, hoping that she would have some insight or at least tell him if his idea was honestly lame. The last thing he wanted to do was get something for Alice that was stupid or totally not her personality.

Addison laughed at Evan joking that women were granted the shopping genes. He also added that he was not exactly sure what he wanted to get for his fiancée, Alice, but he said that he had considered a locket. Addy thought for a moment, “That is actually a pretty good idea, and you could engrave your names on it, or a special phrase of some sort.” Addy looked down in thought and subconsciously tapped her thumb on the book in her arms as she considered other ideas for Evan. “What if you told me more about Alice, that might help think of some other ideas. What does she like to do when she has free time? Or more importantly does she wear a lot of jewelry?” Addison was getting excited at the thought of helping a friend especially when it came to shopping.

Taking a deep breath, Evan smiled when Addison asked him to tell her more about Alice. If there was one thing he loved talking about, it was his fiancee. She was the most precious thing to him and the one person in the world he loved more than anyone else. "Alice is very much the most selfless person I've ever known," he began, his British accent breaking through. "She cares so much about her family and friends. Most of the time she is planning something for one of them, whether it's a birthday party of some sort or just a small party just because she can throw one." His grin broke into a full-fledged smile when he thought more about Alice.
"Alice loves to shop, which just serves to make this entire situation ironic for me," he chuckled, raising one hand to rub the back of his neck at his hairline. "And the only jewelry Alice wears consistantly that I've noticed is her family crest choker and her engagement ring." Evan let out a small sigh as he tried to think of what he could possibly have engraved on a locket for his beloved. His eyebrows furrowed in concentration as he thought of things that were sweet, but not ridiculous. Think man...think! he yelled at himself mentally. You're making a blundering idiot out of yourself.

Addy bit back a smile as Evan began to talk about Alice; it was clear to her that Evan loved his fiancée. Addison drummed her fingers on her book reflecting for a few moments on what she could do to help Evan. “You could probably go ahead and get her the locket, she may not wear a variety of jewelry but I am sure that she would wear anything that you give her.” Addison thought for a few more moments, “Let’s see she loves her family, loves to shop, and loves parties.”
She began pacing a few steps, which was an old habit from her human life. Addy looked up with a grin, “I think I have the perfect idea. What if you threw her an ‘I love you’ party? You could decorate the place with old family photos, some of her favorite flowers, and things from her earlier years as a vampire? I bet the rest of your future in laws would love to help out with that. You could give her the locket then at the party or wait until it is a little more private.”

Evan broke into another broad smile whenever Addison approved his idea of getting Alice a locket. It had been one of the first things that he thought of when trying to decide what to get her for a gift. In his mind, he was thinking of phrases to put inside the locket that would mean something special to her. He had a couple in mind, but he would have to see which one suited what he wanted to say the best. While thinking on that, his attention focused back in on what Addison was saying. Suggesting the pary was an excellent idea in his mind since Alice seemed to throw parties for everyone else, but no one ever threw one for her. Then again...she is always at the center of everything, he chuckled to himself.
"I really like the idea of giving Alice a party," he said. "I don't think there has ever been one for just Alice, so she'll be thrilled." Shoving his hands back into his pockets, Evan scuffed his foot along the sidewalk and began to think of all the things he could do to put together the party, knowing he would need help from Bella and Esme especially since they knew Alice the best. His mind was wrapping around the details he would need to get together before Alice returned from her trip. Looking at Addison, he grinned again. "Thank you so much for your helpful suggestions. I really appreciate it since I'm somewhat dense when it comes to shopping," he laughed at himself and shrugged once. "So, what are you doing in the riveting town of Seattle?" he asked, changing the topic to something that was a little less one-sided.

Addison grinned as she watched Evan smile and seemed to become wrapped up in his own thoughts. Most likely they were about Alice and that brought a fresh grin to Addy’s face. It was one of the things she had quickly learned in her observations of her kind, as much hate and contempt she found for others; when she found mates, it was astonishing. It amazed Addison how deeply her kind could love, and it was so different then the true love she had seen in her human years, because vampires had centuries to love each other, and most of the time it never faded. Evan broke her train of thought by saying he liked the idea of giving Alice a party. He shuffled his feet a little on the sidewalk thinking to himself again before he looked up at her wearing a grin, "Thank you so much for your helpful suggestions. I really appreciate it since I'm somewhat dense when it comes to shopping,"
Evan laughed to himself shrugging and then he asked her what she was doing in Seattle. It was her turn to wear a bright smile, “I was getting some of my better books actually. I have a place that I keep them at here in town and I wanted to add a few…” Addison watched a small group of human males walk past and she flashed a friendly smile before turning back to Evan, “Chapters.” She had told Evan about her books and hopefully he would realize what she really meant by saying chapters. “I just have too many books to carry around with me; at least too many to walk about with and look normal.” Addison laugh as she thought of the dozens of books that she had. They could all fit into several bags but she could just imagine the looks that she would get if she walked around with ten or eleven book bags filled with encyclopedias.

Evan smiled and nodded at Addison as she talked about her books and adding "chapters" which translated to new vampire histories. He admired her for her enthusiasm to learn more about their race and all the different kinds of vampires there were. "It's never a bad thing to have too many books," he said, flashing a bright smile. "When I was human I used to read a lot...well when I had time outside of rugby." Thinking back on his human life, Evan knew that he didn't regret anything he did...outside of one thing, but he kept that to himself. Not even Alice knew that secret and no one would.
Shuffling his feet a little, he stretched his arm and rubbed the back of his neck nonchalontly. Honestly, Evan was out of his element in this situation because he had never really had any friends that were female. However he did know that he was going to be polite. "If you ever want some help getting some of those books, I can help," he offered, knowing she really didn't need the help. "That way...it doesn't look as suspicious when you're carrying all those books through the streets." Evan laughed a little at the absurdity of asking a fellow vampire if they needed help, but he knew it would help her look a little more normal with someone helping her move things.

Addison laughed when Evan said "It's never a bad thing to have too many books," Evan mentioned that he used to read a lot when he had the time; Addy felt her head tilt to the side slightly at something in Evan’s voice. Instead of reflecting on something that could bring up bad memories for her newest friend Addy was going to change the subject until Evan spoke again. He offered to help her with her books and Addy laughed as Evan said, "That way...it doesn't look as suspicious when you're carrying all those books through the streets." Addison grinned, “Actually I probably will need your help since I can’t rent a U-Haul truck or anything like that.” Addy was glad that she had met Evan, at least if her library was approved now there wouldn’t be half as many books to move.
