Foster smirked and knocked on the small window to Jasper’s door. He stopped in his pacing and stared at the door. Foster waved at Jasper and walked back to the room where Brooks was sitting with the camera screens. Foster walked in to see Brooks writing on a form of paper without looking up Brooks said, “You really shouldn’t taunt him.” “Oh what is he going to do? If he doesn’t remember anything with that stupid little Evan, waving at him will not do anything.”
Brooks slammed her pen down and turned on Foster, “Look at him!” Brooks jabbed a finger back at the screen where Jasper could be seen pacing in his small room. “I hate to break it too you Foster but he started to remember. I had to double everything that we usually put him on. Guess what? It is only working half as well as before!”
Foster felt her top lip curl into a snarl, “Don’t start on me Brooks. No one is coming back for him. Jasper has been completely forgotten by his family; he has no one to come for him. We now have a permanent experiment rat.” Foster flopped into a chair as a grin replaced her snarl, “Relax we are in the clear; we are perfectly safe.”

After talking to Evan about what he had saw down on his trip to Florida to see Jasper, Alice had started to worry about him. She only thought it right to go down there and see for herself. Alice packed a small bag, left a note for Evan telling him where she was going as well as one for her family saying she was in New York again getting some things for the wedding. She raced to the Seattle airport to buy a ticket on the first flight down there. Once her plane had landed Alice quickly changed into a long sleeved shirt and jeans, she put on a big black brimmed sun hat and sunglasses, trying her best to hide her skin from the sun. Alice called a car service to pick her up. Once in the car Alice told the driver where to go based on where Evan told her Jasper was.
It was a somewhat short trip to the place Jasper was, however Alice knew that if she had drove herself she would have gotten there much fast. The car pulled up in front of the building and Alice looked out the window and sighed. Although she was no longer married to Jasper she still cared for him and his well-being. She leaned forward to the driver. "Just wait over there for me." She said pointing across the street to an empty parking lot. "I shouldn't be long." She said with a sweet smile to the driver. Truth was Alice had no idea how long she would be. She gently opened the door and stepped out of the car, her heart pounding faster than it had in a long time.
Alice walked up to the door of the building and entered what seemed to be a waiting room, however no one was waiting in it. Alice walked up to what she thought was the front desk and looked around, not seeing anyone. She then looked down and saw a small bell that she thought was to let the people working there know that someone was in the building. Alices small hand rang the bell, no one came right away. She tried again. "Hello? Anybody here?" She called out into the open air.

Jasper laid on the bed and curled his legs into his chest and wrapped his arms around his knees. Since Evan had come to see him the little flashes of things past had become more vivid but they still had a lit haze over them. It was starting to get extremely frustrating that he could not remember the things from his past. Something else that had changed after Evan left had been the amount of testing that the good doctors needed to do on him. Jasper sat up with a snarl thinking of Dr. Brooks and Dr. Foster.
With little else to do with his pent up energy Jasper began throwing the things in his room all over the place. He was not sure what he was doing at the moment, Jasper never lost control, everyone else was allowed to but not him. Jasper was about to flip his bed again when Jasper remembered that first day he considered the day that his life began, the day he met Alice. Jasper turned to the wall and rested his head against it; Jasper growled to himself and slammed his fist into the wall. Jasper dropped his arms to his sides and slumped into the wall. “What have I done?”
Dr. Foster temporarily ignored the bell that run at the front as she watched Jasper’s temper tantrum. She stroked the screen smirking, “Poor little baby.” Suddenly the chair was violently lifted out from under her and Foster was sent head over heels flying into the wall. Foster scrambled to her feet as she turned to see Brooks snarling and crouched down in a fighting stance, “Get ready the left overs is here, so much for being safe.” Dr. Brooks relaxed her stance and walked to the front door. She took a deep breath to help her slip into her acting doctor phase. Brooks opened the door to see the woman she knew to be Jasper’s ex-wife, Alice. Brooks put on a bright smile and stepped to the side, “Hello, Alice correct? I have heard quite a lot about you. Come in please.”

Alice was taken aback when a pretty female walked into the room and already knew who she was. "Um... Yes I'm Alice. And you would be?" Alice asked her without moving and ignoring the woman asking her to come in. Alice did not get a good vibe off the woman but knew that she most likely had to go through her to get to Jasper. "I'm here to see Jasper Whitlock. Can you please tame me to him?" She asked, clinching her teeth into a smile and trying to be nice. The smell the woman gave was sour and gave Alice a bad taste in her mouth. Alice then cocked her head to the side and smiled. "Please?" She asked in a sweet tone.

Brooks grinned slightly when the woman confirmed that she was Alice Cullen. Brooks laughed lightly, “Oh I am sorry my name is Dr. Brooks; I am currently trying to help your ex husband.” She was not foolish enough to think that Alice was falling for anything, but Brooks would be damned if she would be the one to break the act that she felt going on between herself and Alice. Alice then asked for the obvious, to see Jasper and even added in a few pleases seeming to think that would soften Brooks up. Brooks quickly debated the ups and downs of allowing Alice to see Jasper. If she thought she could get away with it then she never would have answered the door, pretending no one was there. As it was Alice was now in the facility and Brooks realized that Alice would more then likely take Jasper with her. All Brooks could do now was try to minimize the damage.
Brooks sighed, “Follow me.” She began walking making sure that Alice was at her side and never her back, “I must warn you though Jasper is nothing like the man he was when he first arrived. He has not responded well to testing.” Just then Dr. Foster slipped out of the room that held all of the screens that showed different places all over the facility. She was adjusting her white over coat when she saw Brooks walking past with Alice. Knowing that her life depended on what happened today with Alice, Foster put on the best performance that she could as she walked with the pair. “Hello I am Dr. Foster. I must say I have heard quite a lot about you; I feel as if we could be the best of friends.” The trio stopped in front of the door, “As I am sure Dr. Brooks has warned you; Jasper is not the man that you remember him to be. I hope you do not expect to find the same man you used to know."

Alice smiled when Dr. Brooks said to follow her and she would take Alice to Jasper. "Thank you." Alice chirped and started to follow Dr. Brooks down the long white halls. When Dr. Brooks started to talk about how Jasper was not responding well to the test Alice's small small turned into a frown. "Well he has always had a fear of doctors and medicine. It's actually funny since we have a doctor in the family." Alice said trying to joke and make herself smile a little bit.
Just then Alice smelled another person as yet another woman in a white coat came out from a room and introduced herself as Dr. Foster. Dr. Foster was just as pretty as Dr. Brooks, however yet again Alice did not get the best feeling from her. "Hello I am Alice Cullen." She said smiling to the new doctor and holding her hand out. "The famous ex-wife." She added, knowing that this woman knew who she was just as much as Dr. Brooks did. Then Dr. Foster told Alice that Jasper was no longer the same man that Alice used to know. Both women were trying to tell Alice how much Jasper had changed, but she wouldn't be convinced until she saw him for herself. "I'll be the judge of that. Just take me to him please." She said with a sweet smile looking up at both women.

Brooks fought not to roll her eyes as she listened to Alice explain that Jasper had not been fond of doctors. She fought against a snort as she thought, ‘He likes doctors even less now.’ They continued to walk and Dr. Foster joined them a few seconds later. Brooks slowed down slightly and listened to Foster talk with Alice, who she could tell was starting to feel antsy.
Brooks knew that they were headed to all kinds of hell and she knew that Jasper was probably going to remember everything once he talked to Alice. That was something that Brooks and Foster had discovered; anything that would remind Jasper of his ex-wife would be an enormous mistake. Thinking about Alice Cullen brought on too many emotions for Jasper, and when he focused on those emotions he gained control over himself. Control was one thing that they did not need for Jasper to have, and it was getting hard enough as it was.
Her concern was no longer on how to keep Jasper at the facility, but how she could get out alive. ‘Foster is on her own.’ They stopped in front of the door that lead to where Jasper was. If they were lucky Jasper was still throwing a fit and Alice would just leave well enough alone. Brooks sighed and nodded to the door, “Jasper is just on the other side.” Before Brooks could stop her Foster reached out and opened the door.
Jasper was hanging his head in his hands and was focused on his memories. He smiled to himself and got to his feet as he began to remember his oldest memories with Alice. The more that he focused on his memories with Alice the more Jasper was able to relax. ‘I’m sorry m’am.’Jasper thought to himself as he remembered the very night he had met Alice. The stunning, yet obvious truth slammed into Jasper like a brick wall. ‘I still love her.’ Jasper groaned bitterly to himself as Jasper turned on a dime as soon as he heard the door to his prison open. The soldier in Jasper snapped into place as he took his opportunity to strike and shot out of his room like a bullet, aiming for his target; the doctors.
Brooks had no chance to respond as she was immediately speared into the wall across from Jasper’s open room. It all happened so quickly for Foster one moment she was opening the door to Jasper’s room and the next Jasper was speeding out of his room and throwing Brooks into the opposite wall pinning her there, and leaving a massive dent and cracks in the wall. Foster watched stunned as Jasper held Brooks against the wall by her neck. She watched as Brooks tried to get leverage off of the wall to fight back but Jasper had finally snapped. Instead of doing the smart thing and run away from all of the trouble Foster ran forward to try and restrain Jasper from causing any more damage. Luckily Brooks was a vampire and did not need to breath, and by that same token they could use this as an excuse for why the Cullen family should never come back to the hospital again.
Jasper could feel the panic flowing from the two doctors, and he could also feel shock from something else but his joy of the panic was taking over. Jasper could feel his own joy and excitement of the situation begin to rule over him as he listened to Brook’s neck bones begin to crack under the pressure. He registered the movement out of the corner of his eyes as Foster came forward to try and stop him. Jasper felt Brooks try to break his hold as he turned his sights on Foster but he held her back with one hand and slammed her back into the wall crunching more bones and creating an even larger hole in the wall.
Foster ran at Jasper but he easily tripped her up and picked her up by the scruff of her neck throwing her face first into the wall. All of the unknown venom that had been building inside of Jasper had been released as he snarled, “Give me one good reason I shouldn’t turn you into firewood.” He could hear Foster mumble something into the rubble where her face was being held. Jasper held her head back before slamming in back into the wall, “I apologize did you say something?”

Alice walked solemnly behind Dr. Brooks and beside Dr. Foster as they lead her toward the room where Jasper was being held. It had been near half a year since she had seen her ex-husband, so the angst was building in her system. In some ways, Alice still loved Jasper because they had been married for over a century. That love had turned into more or less a caring nature for him now that they were no longer married. She still cared what happened to him and being in this place was obviously doing nothing to help him at all. As they walked, Alice began to think about exactly what kind of condition Jasper must have been in. In more than one way, she feared what was in that room by how the doctors acted.
When they reached the door that was Jasper's, Dr. Foster reached out and opened the door. Without another word, Alice witnessed Jasper flying out at the two doctors and the scene that unfolded right in front of her. Something inside of her ex-husband had finally snapped and that was painfully obvious as she watched him fight the two doctors, hearing the cracking of bones and the breaking of walls. "Jasper..." she said softly, hoping it would reach his ears and bring him out of whatever dark circle of Hell he had gone to. "It's me, Alice."

Jasper finally had the two doctors where he needed them to be. Now all he needed to do was snap their necks to slow them down while he got a fire together. He felt a smirk growing at the thought of watching them there. After they were a pile of purple ashes he would return to Forks where Jasper would plead his case to his family. Now that he was not as wrapped up in getting his hands wrapped around the throats of his former doctors, Jasper started to absorb the world around him. He ignored the anger and fear rolling off of the doctors but he felt shock. Jasper was then slammed by a scent that he would never have expected to smell again. Just as he turned to face the smell he heard the most amazing voice he would ever hear again, “Jasper…It’s me, Alice.” Suddenly Jasper was flushed with shame and he jumped away from the doctors as if they were lepers.
Foster slid to the ground and looked up at Jasper. She was amazed to see that Jasper looked ashamed at what he had just done to her and Brooks. She looked over as she remembered Brooks to see her fellow doctor was setting her neck back into place. At that point she did not care if Brooks would make it out alright and she slid away from Jasper before progressing into a crawl and then into a full out run. Brooks rolled her neck and snapped it back into place. She took the chance of Jasper’s preoccupation with his ex wife and she crawled away from the pair.
Jasper ignored the fact that the doctors had just crawled away and he turned to fully face Alice. In complete amazement, “Alice?”

Alice stood awkwardly to the side of her ex-husband as he stopped his torture of the doctors once he realized that she was standing not five feet from him. Watching in shock as he let go of Foster's neck and lept away from them in shame, Alice wrung her hands in front of her. What Evan had told her was true; every word of it was true and she was seeing it with her own two eyes. The Jasper she knew would have never snapped like that unless he was threatened or someone had threatened someone in their family. But, whatever they had done to him had made him into something that was not the man she was once married to. However, the moment he snapped back from the doctors, she saw something in his eyes that was more like pain.
The doctors slid away as the two of them were concentrating on each other, but Alice knew that if she were to mention anything to Edward about them, they would get what was coming to them later. For the time being, she was more intent on getting Jasper out of there. When he looked her direction and said her name, she knew that he recognized her, but was utterly surprised to see her. If she was being honest with herself, Alice was surprised she was there at all. Given her past with Jasper as of late, any normal woman would have moved on and not come, but Alice knew that they were different. Loving someone for a century and then trying to forget them was easier said than done. "Oh Jasper," she said softly, taking a tentative step in his direction. "What have they done to you?"

Jasper continued to listen in the back of his head until he could no longer hear the doctor’s foot steps. He had their smells memorized and Jasper figured that he would be able to track them down at a later date. Now that Jasper was alone with Alice what she was feeling began to pound him down. Jasper felt his hands turn into fist at his sides and he fought internally to remain standing. He was beginning to buckle under the pressure, but the worst of it for Jasper was he did not want Alice to leave his site. Deep inside Jasper found his ability to face his ex-wife as she seemed to study him over. As she did so Alice was filled with pain, heartache, anger, frustration, and almost every emotion one would ever feel in their life. Alice was feeling that all at that moment. It was because of him.
“Oh Jasper,” Alice saying his name again broke Jasper. He could feel everything that had built inside of him over the last six months flood out in a tidal wave of emotions. Whether he had imagined it or not it did not matter but Alice seemed to move closer to him. Jasper jumped as far as he could away from Alice much as he had with the doctors a few moments ago. He backed himself into a corner of the wall shaking his head slowly at the woman before him. Jasper could feel himself beginning to crumble again and he dug his hands into the wall for support. He looked down at the floor and snarled to himself demanding that he regain control. Jasper tilted his head up and looked toward where Alice was standing with closed eyes, “Just take me home.” Jasper opened his eyes to Alice and knew that if he were still alive then his eyes would be glistening with unshed tears.

Watching Jasper flinch away from her caused Alice to immediately stop where she was. Looking at her ex-husband, she knew that he could feel everything she was feeling in that moment, even if she didn't want him to. That was one thing she knew she could never hide from him, despite her strong wish to put all of her feelings for Jasper away in a box that she would never open again. But, seeing how well that worked up until now, she knew that it was never going to happen. As Jasper backed himself into a corner and dug his fingers into the wall for support, Alice felt her heart shattering for him. He had obviously suffered enough at the hands of the doctors and was in tremendous pain from her very presence.
Feeling her own heartbreak, Alice stared at the ground for what seemed like an eternity. This was not how she originally pictured this scene going and nothing in her visions had prepared her for this kind of anguish over her ex-husband. There was an amount of guilt weighing on her own heart; the kind she knew would not go away easily or without leaving some sort of scarring. Alice looked up to see Jasper's eyes peering into her own. There was something about them that told her he was completely broken on the inside. Alice knew that had she been human, she would have been crying by now. As he asked her to take him home, she was unable to put words together into a sentence. Finally, she whispered in a cracked voice, "Alright, I'll take you home." Not knowing what else to do, Alice simply stood still and waited for Jasper to make the first move so she would not scare him again.

Jasper had told Alice to take him home but where he was physically, Jasper was not sure what would happen when he let go of the wall. Slowly and methodically Jasper mentally peeled on finger after another from the holes he had created in the wall. After a moment his hold was free from the wall and his attention was turned back to the hurricane of emotions inside of Alice, not to mention his own. Jasper felt himself beginning to buckle again but he was warring with himself because he did not want Alice to have to help him walk. The easy thing then would be to control Alice’s emotions but he did not think that he could. Jasper could probably count on one hand the number of times that he had played with emotions that way, and as painful as it was for him now Jasper would deal with it. It wasn’t as if Jasper did not deserve feeling the way that he did right then. Another wave of pain washed over Jasper when he heard Alice say that she would take him home. Jasper nodded silently and peeled himself away from the wall. He stopped next to Alice and looked up and down the hallway. A small growl of frustration split his lips as he muttered what Jasper felt was rather pathetically, “I don’t remember the way out.”

Watching Jasper peel himself from the wall he had gripped onto for dear life, Alice still felt every emotion ripping through her heart and knew that Jasper was not making any attempt to control her emotions for his own sake. It was almost as if he wanted to feel every bit of sorrow she was feeling in that moment, like some sort of self-punishment. Any other time, Alice would have thought he deserved to feel everything she was feeling right then, but seeing him like this; seeing all of the torturous things the doctors had done to him and how he was reduced to being their lab rat for how ever many tests they had subjected him to, she just could not bring herself to believe he deserved to feel how much pain and hurt she was feeling right then.
When he finally removed himself entirely from the wall and stood next to her, she watched as he looked up and down the halls. Alice knew that he had been in that tiny cell for so long that he did not remember how to get out. When he admitted it, she nodded slowly and began walking in the direction she was lead from by the doctors themselves. "It's this way," she softly said, knowing that anything else would have just added injury to insult for Jasper. She knew that he felt pathetic enough, so she was not about to make it worse for him.

As Jasper stood next to Alice and wondered which way would be the quickest home he could feel pitty oozing out of Alice. He tried to ignore that along with everything else that she was feeling right then and the fact of how much he had missed her. Jasper clenched his jaw shut and grinded his teeth together as he tried to regain control. Alice had just saved his life again, there was no clue as to how long it would have been before the doctors opened his door. If Alice had not come to investigate what had been going on there Jasper knew he would still be locked away in his room. Luckily for them both Alice knew the way out as she headed the right way. The flair of anger towards himself and the doctors was good for Jasper it meant he would not have to focus on the pain, frustration, anger, pity, and everything else coming from Alice. As they went through the hall ways it was eerily silent and that let Jasper alone with a curious mind. ‘Why did Alice come back to Florida?’ Once they were on better speaking terms Jasper had every intention of asking Alice that very question.
The pair finally reached the doors that would finally take Jasper to his true freedom but he stopped short. Alice did not seem to notice as she had continued to step forward, but Jasper reached out and pulled Alice gently by her elbow back from the doorway. He knew that once they walked out of the building and made their way back to Washington the magic of Alice coming to rescue him would fade away. What would also hopefully fade away with that magic would be the pain Alice had been feeling. Jasper let go of Alice’s arm and felt his hand drop pointlessly to his side.
Jasper was then unsure of why he had stopped from going out the front door, much less why he had stopped Alice. But as Jasper looked down at Alice he felt a flame inside of himself and recognizes a flicker no larger than a spark. The flame inside of Jasper reminded him of what he wanted to do. That flame started to consume Jasper and he burned with a need so fierce that it actually scared him to act on it. He knew however the second they walked out of his prison the magic of them standing with one another would be trapped behind. It took less then five seconds for Jasper to make up his mind. Jasper placed a forceful but gentle hand on Alice’s waist and walked towards her easily pushing her back against the wall.
Jasper watched her eyes for a second knowing this had been something he wanted to do since the day he had left his home, hell since the day that he knew he would never have the chance again. The magic of his old prison would give him the power for one last thing he wanted to do before he went home to face his family. Jasper pulled Alice against him and kissed her with every confused emotion that was warring between the two of them. Dizzy from it, he pinned Alice back to the wall that he had just pulled her from with an arm curled around her waist and one arm bent against the wall beside her. Closing his eyes, Jasper felt every inch of Alice pressed against him. Jasper knew if he had to die right then that was alright because he was getting to taste heaven again.
