Before Embry could have any chance to respond Nathaniel heard something running through the woods. He turned to see an absolutely massive wolf come bounding into the clearing. The thought passed through Nathaniel’s mind that this was another supernatural wolf, but he did not wish to take the chance that it was not. Or if it was a werewolf Nate had no idea if he was friendly towards Embry, and despite the form that Embry could take Nate knew he could not take on the wolf snarling at them. Nathaniel turned his back to Embry so that he could face the new wolf face on. He slid himself so that he was standing between the new wolf and Embry. Nate bent into a slight crouch preparing for a fight to make sure that Embry would be alright.
Not wishing for it to come down to a fight Nate cocked his head to the side to that he could speak to Embry, “EJ is this a friend of yours?” Nathaniel refused to take his eyes off of the new wolf that for lack of anything better to say looked extremely pissed off. Before Embry could reply Nate tilted his head back to the new wolf so that the wolf had his full attention. “I will not allow you to fight him.” Nate meant that statement with all of his being. In his over four hundred years of living Nate would always protect women and children and though EJ was getting older Nate felt that he still deserved to be protected. For Nathaniel it would be a cold day in hell before he allowed a child to be hurt while he could still fight.

Jacob glared at the Nate as he positioned himself between EJ and himself. Jacob did not know what the vampire was thinking, as he stood there blocking Quil's son from him. Embry was like a nephew to Jake and seeing him basically being cornered by a vampire was making his temper rise like it had not in since Will got away. He narrowed his eyes more and crouched himself down .
When the vampire spoke Jacob wished he was in his human form. Jacob was not going to see the vampire hurt EJ . He could have words with him but he was not going to and he know he had a better chance of fighting him in his wolf form. Jacob was not going to unphase also because Embry might needed defending. What the hell why would i hurt him? Jacob thought angry before stepping closer to Nate so he could see E.J better ans see if he was hurt. |

Nathaniel studied the wolf as it advanced towards them. He was trying to get a better view of Embry and Nate shifted enough so that the wolf could still see Embry, but he would still have to get past Nathaniel to get to EJ. Nathaniel did not turn to speak this time knowing it would be foolish to give this wolf any advantage, “Embry I think it would be best for you to go now. It would be wise for you to fight.” Nathaniel bit back his own snarl as the wolf came closer. Nate was easily slipping into battle mode and he did not want Embry to get caught in the cross fire or to see Nate fight. “Embry now is your last chance to say whether this creature is a friend or foe.”

It all unfolded way to fast in front of Embry, first he was having a friendly conversation with Nate then out of nowhere like a father protecting his pup Jacob appeared. EJ was both to shocked and to move but he did not have to Nate to if for him as he positioned himself between Jake and himself. Zoning out for a moment trying to figure out what Jacob was thinking and what he next move should be he did not hear Nate speak the first time it was not until His last warning did Embry speak up. " Nate that is Uncle Jake...." Embry spoke the took a step out from behind Nate. "Alpha, dude calm down, I am not in danger or anything, Nate And i was just having a friendly conversation, I came here to explore."

Nathaniel barely heard Embry’s explanation that the wolf in front of him was Jake. It confirmed that the wolf was not normal and actually a werewolf which meant that he could understand Nathaniel speaking just as easily as Embry had. Nathaniel then heard Embry addressing the wolf telling him to calm down. Realizing that the potential fight would defuse a lot faster Nathaniel got to his feet and put more distance between Embry and himself. Nathaniel bowed to the wolf, “My name is Nathaniel Pierce, I apologize for my actions I was unsure whether or not you meant EJ harm. I have no desire to hurt your nephew as he has just said we were only speaking, I promise you that.” Now that Nathaniel knew that this wolf was a friend, correction family of Embry Nathaniel had no intentions of fighting him either. Nathaniel held his arms out as his sides palms towards the wolf, Jacob, as he had when Embry had approached him. Nate spoke once more hoping that it could calm the tension in the air, “I apologize again for my actions.”

Jacob did not know how to take his vampire, few seconds before he was ready to attack and now he was apologizing, maybe he was just scared he was going to get his ass beat or something because EJ called him Uncle Jake. Either way Jacob was not satisfied that the vampire was apologizing, but he could see that this vampire unlike Will was respectful to others. Opening his eyes normally and standing up straight Jacob nodded at Nate before flattening his hair and raising his ears. Jacob shot Embry one more look that said 'don't move and he took a small distance away to phase back into his human form.

Embry watched as Jacob body language changed but he could tell he was still pretty pissed, but he would wait till he returned. That was another benefit to being a werewolf you could read the other packs members body language. Sure Jacob stood up straight, and he looked calm but Embry knew he was going to be in shit being in Forks and all. Embry turned to Nate and smiled. " I think Your going be able to talk to him but I ma going to be in a whole lot of shit."

Nathaniel watched the wolf straighten himself out and relaxing slightly. Nate did not miss the look that the massive wolf gave to Embry. The wolf then moved away from them and Embry spoke, " I think Your going be able to talk to him but I ma going to be in a whole lot of shit." Nate gave a careful smile to mirror Embry’s own, “I suppose that it would be easier to speak with Jacob if he is in his human form. I did not realize that you would get into trouble if you were speaking to me.” Nate looked around the close trees, “Although I must say that it was not wise for you to not listen to your mother if she told you to stay close to home.”
Nathaniel sighed and scratched the back of his head realizing that he had probably offended the leader of the werewolves. Things were suddenly becoming short lived in Forks and Nathaniel would regret that because of Katelyn. She was an amazing human and Nate was having an amazing time getting to know her better. It would be a shame if he was going to have to leave because Jake asked him to. From previous encounters Nate knew that Jacob would be under enough pressure with Will and Crystal in the area, and Nate had no desire to be another sore spot.

it did not take anymore then thirty seconds to re appear in from of Nate and Embry. He had a sour look on his face at showed that he was not too impressed with Embry even being in Forks. "EJ, DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TROUBLE YOU WOULD BE IN IF I TOLD YOU FATHER YoU WERE RUNNING AROUND FORKS TALKING OT STRANGE VAMPIRES." Jacob yelled at Embry basically ignoring Nate for the time being. "HELL I SHOULD TELL YOU MOTHER SHE WOULD BE EVEN MORE PISSED AT YOU FOR BREAKING HER RULES." Jacob would not have yelled at Embry if he was with another pack member but seeing he was alone it pissed him off. Embry was only twelve years old, and as a wolf her was not that big there would be no way he could defend himself if this Nate was to attack Him.
Jacob then stopped yelling and looked at he vampire standing to his full side of 6'7 and looking down at him. "And what do we have the pleasure of a nomadic vampire running around Forks unannounced. You should at least tell the royal family your running around here, currently I am on the hunt for a few human feeding vampires. If I was to run into you out here or one of the Cullens and think you were Will Jennings you would surely be ripped to pieces fast then you could ever defend yourself" Jacob starred the Nate down. "Your lucky I did not attack see how you were cornering Embry, If I was Jon Whiteman, you would be spread all over this forest floor in pieces. A newbie wolf would have attacked you for sure." Jacob was pissed he already had Will and Crystal to deal with, Now he would have to keep an eye on Embry, Nate, fulfill his Alpha duties and be his pregnant wife. A weaker man couldn't do it but Jacob knew he could. "So Nate why the hell are you in Forks?"

Nathaniel stood to the side as Embry was chewed out by Jacob. It was easily apparent that Embry was going to have hell to pay when he got home. After snapping on Embry, Jacob turned on Nathaniel. Nathaniel leaned away from Jacob as the Alfa wolf began staring him down. “I apologize again for my actions,” Nate said again bowing to Jake, “I had no intentions of hurting anyone. I have recently traveled here and it was not until after several days of being here that I realized there was so much occurring here. I did not mean for my presence to cause so much trouble.”
“I appreciate your patients with this Jacob; I understand that you are under a great amount of stress. I have no desire to add to it.” Nathaniel said as Jacob asked his purpose in Forks. “I am traveling looking for a place to settle down for a decade or two. I have every intention of speaking with a member of the royal family but I was not aware of where their home is, nor did I wish to approach their home without invitation.” Nate was trying to be the most patient and calm as he had ever been in his life. He could feel the anger and tension flooding off of Jacob. It would be clear to blind man that Jacob was furious. Nathaniel was wrong that a fight would not occur and the tension from Jake was a testament to it.
“I truly mean no harm here sir.” Nate meant that with all of his being and he hoped that Jacob could understand it. Nathaniel was not expecting for Jacob to completely accept him, but Nate was hoping that Jacob would at least be comfortable enough with his presence to allow him to remain in Forks.

"I don't want to hear you apologize, Embry Knew he was in the wrong and It not like I am the honcho when it come to the vampires, I am just married Nessie, Cullen the daughter of Edward and Bella. Before we married a lot of things have changed for my point of view on vampires. I have learn to trust them but only the ones I have been acquainted with. " Jacob explained in the thirty or so years he had know the Cullen family he has learn to trust and consider them his family.
"I don't trust many because you never know what strangers can do and I don't want anyone possibly hurting or trying to hurt my wife or her family, that is a reason I cannot ever put my guard down. I am bot a member of the royal family and the Alpha for the wolf pack so I am pretty set in my ways." Jacob glances back at Embry for a moment two look a bit scared of Jacob at the moment, Jacob knew EJ was more scared of the fact at he was probability going to be in trouble from his mother.

“Not to upset you by contradicting you but since you have married a child of the royal family for the vampire race that does give you some authority.” Nathaniel listened patiently as Jacob seemed to border line vent about his life. He could easily see that Jacob was living with a large amount of stress and Nathaniel listened as Jacob explained a part of who he was. Nathaniel started to grin slightly as Jacob mentioned that he was pretty set in his ways. “I think I can understand something a little about being set in your ways. After four hundred years I am most likely living my life the way it will be for the rest of my days. I know it is asking a lot for you to believe me but in all of my existence I have never harmed a woman or child, and I would not start now. It would be another reason to me being in this area of the forest.”
Nathaniel was unsure whether or not he should continue speaking but he felt that if Jacob’s wife was in threat from them Nate should say something, “It would be part of my reason to being here in this area. Several days ago I met some less then pleasant,” Nathaniel forced breath between his teeth so that he would not snarl like he had with Embry. It would be the last thing he needed to upset Jacob more then he already was. “They were named Will and Crystal. Our last meeting nearly came down to a fight and with the way that they treat others; they have no right to live. A recent acquaintance named Ryssa and myself have been walking through the forest keeping an eye out for them. Ryssa is a recent friend of her majesty and Ryssa has said that she takes it personally that her friend‘s daughter is in danger.” At that point Nathaniel was unsure if he should have even mentioned Ryssa. It would just be another vampire that Jacob would feel required to keep tabs on. With that same thought though the fact that Ryssa was friends with Bella should offer some sort of comfort.

" She met Bella" Jacob said it must have been when Nessie and himself were out of town." Well then Ryssa and you now it not just Renesmee who is in danger, as Ryssa stated, Nessie and I just recently got news that she was expecting, there for our child is in danger also. I don't not in anyway want Will or Crystal to get close to my wife. That is why I am out here and have been for days on end" Jacob said before turning to EJ. "That is why I am angry that you came out into the forest Embry. Will and Crystal are somewhere in the world and these forest will be where they will hide when they return to Forks. I don't think they would be as kind to you as Nate has." Jacob did not want to see Embry hurt or worse dead. He could still remember the time when Victoria had her new born army out to get Bella and the Culllens and he had got injured in the fight, thought he healed quickly the healing part hurt a lot.
"Where is this Ryssa now?" Jacob asked If he was to run into her they might not have a friendly encounter either. The last thing Jacob need was Bella being pissed with him for attacking a friend.

Nathaniel listened again as Jacob explained in more detail about what was going on in his life. Jacob turned to Embry at that point and got onto him again for leaving home. It was clear that the issues concerning Will and Crystal were far larger then Nathaniel had originally understood. Things were going to get worse before they got better but Nathaniel had no intention of leaving. He refused to leave at this point and he had every intension of staying until Will and Crystal were taken care of. Jacob asked at that point where Ryssa was at the moment. “Just a moment that I can find out for you.” Nathaniel pulled a small walkie-talkie out of his back pocket, “Ryssa are you there? Over.”
While he waited for Ryssa to respond he looked up at Jacob with a small grin, “We cannot find more productive means of communication.” ‘Yeah Mr. England I’m here what do ya need? Over.’ Nathaniel looked at Jacob, “Would you like to speak with her? I could ask her to meet us here if you like.” He held the walkie-talkie out to Jacob just in case he wanted to speak with Ryssa personally. ‘Hey Mr. England what’s up you run in with tweedle dum and tweedle dee? Over.’

Embry stood by and listened to the conversation, he knew he could hot have spoken up but he did not want to get himself in more trouble then he was all ready in. Embry just nodded as Jacob scolded him ad listen as he spoke some more about all that was going on he did not realize how much stuff Jacob actually had going on in his life. He did not even Know that Nessie was pregnant till Jacob said so. Embry Knew that By the way Jacob gave him trouble and how good of an alpha he was Jacob would be a great dad.
