Just a little Exploring

Claire was out for the day and Embry loved that. That means he had some time to himself, He spent most his time in La Push even thought he was allowed in Forks. Today would be different thought Embry was going to head to the forest in Forks to run around and explore. He already knew all the La Push lands off by heart thanks to mid-day paroling but Forks land was almost new to him. Claire would never let him venture to far from home by himself and she had told considered Forks quite a far distance fifteen miles away from their house and for a twelve year old kid he should not venture that far.

Embry Knew and so did his parents that we was a werewolf and could handle himself but he knew it was more because of the vampires and not getting hurt or lost his mother worried about. Living near Forks could bring a vampires around that are not so friendly. Either way Embry did not care he would just fight them if he had to, and call on the other pack member they would surely help.

Embry phased into this wolf from ran for about fifteen minutes or so until he got deep into the woods. He then plunked his little fluffy white butt down on the ground and looked around. He could smell may old vampires paths and a few new ones also, maybe he would have a run in today he did not know. Embry was ready either way.

Nathaniel stopped in his running to find himself in the middle of the forest. Which was fine by him, it was an interesting change from the busy life that he had once led in England. The peaceful forest of Washington were a change he was glad to see. Nate grinned to himself as he thought of Katelyn. He had met her several days ago, and they had in fact run into each other a few times between then and now. She would definitely give him motivation to stay in Washington a little bit longer.

Nate stopped short in his walking and musing when an unfamiliar scent reached him. He took another deep breath and cocked his head to the side whispering, “I wonder.” Nathaniel’s curiosity took over by that point and made his way towards the smell that seemed to be a mixture of human and wolf. He entered the clearing to find a white wolf sitting in the clearing taking in his surroundings. Nate watched to wolf for a moment and realized that the wolf was the source of the smell. He smiled in a friendly manner and cleared his throat politely. Nate was unsure if the creature could understand him or not but he decided to try, “You are not everything you seem to be are you friend?” Nate held his arms out in front of him, palms out showing he had nothing to hide. Nate also allowed his smile to remain in place so that the creature would see no reason to attack.

As Embry sat there a man began to approach, bot jut any man but from his scent a vampire. He was not scared but he knew that this vampire could be a threat if he had red eyes. Embry sat there for a second unmoving watching as the man spoke and walked a but closer then stopped , with his palms upwards. Embry stood up and took a few steps closer to the vampire to get a better look he did not raise his lip or anything at the vampire he just wanted to see what color his eyes were.

Getting close enough the see they were gold, Embry turned around and ran back toward La Push a bit so he could unphase and approach the vampire. Embry was full of question he never really spent to much time around a veggie vamp, not even one of the Cullens. Phasing back quickly he pulled on his short and ran back to where the vampire was. "HEY DUDE HOWS IT GOING" He said loudly. "Oh and and there is more to me then what it seems."

Nathaniel waited patiently as the wolf-creature came closer for a few moments before turning back to the woods. He felt a frown temporarily crease his face as he wondered where the creature had gone off to. A few moments later a boy came bounding into the clearing. He seemed to be fairly young and Nate would not guess him to be over fourteen. Judging by his greeting the young man seemed friendly enough. He also seemed to have all the energy of youth that one would expect. Nate could not refrain from smiling, ‘Ah the beauty of youth.’

The young man called out his own greeting to Nathaniel and confirmed that he was not all that met the eye. Nathaniel chuckled lightly, “Ah I see. I thought not since you do not exactly smell like humans should. I am well thank you for asking. I suppose this afternoon finds you well since you are enjoying the spring time air?” Nathaniel allowed for his arms to fall back to his sides since this seemed like it would turn out to be a peaceful encounter. Not that Nate would fight the young man by any means. His centuries on this earth had brought him up to believe that all women and children were worth protection, and Nathaniel did not see any reason to change that. At that point Nathaniel realized that he had not introduced himself and he did not wish to seem rude, “My name is Nathaniel Pierce.”

Embry Smirked at the man he though his way of language was weird. " Well i am not really human, well I ma but I'm a shape-shifter, It some genetic thing I got from my dad. As for the weather goes, nope I'm not out enjoying it raining , sunny I don't care either way it am always warm. My mom went out shopping so basically I came to The forest to explore a bit. Usually I am not allowed out here , Well I ma allowed but my mom does not like it went i go to Forks alone, Your an old guy what I can tell from the way ya talk, so I bet you know a lot about mother's." Embry said in his little rant for a moment before getting down to to having an actual conversation with him.

"Soooo your a Veggie vamp right ? My Uncle Jake married the Cullen's daughter she is a half breed by he parent are Veggie Vamps,...Oh and by the way I am Embry. Everyone calls me E.J though." Embry was going to hold his hand out for the vampire to shake but he did not know if was polite for a werewolf to do so or not.

Nathaniel could no longer bite back the laughter that had built up. Embry, or EJ as he seemed to be called was upbeat and charismatic. He also seemed to be full of questions which once again fit someone of his age. Nate grinned as he thought of where to beginning with EJ. “Over four hundred years on this earth and I would hope to know something about others.” chuckled Nathaniel, he had been alive four hundred and thirty-nine years including his human life. “I suppose I would be old by your standards young one. Just so you know it is not wise of you to cross your mother.” EJ then jumped to a conversation topic that seemed a little more serious.

The young man had manners, that much he could say for Embry. Nate internally sighed at the way things could possibly go. “If you mean by veggy vamp that I do not feed on humans you would be mostly correct. I would not think to lie to you and say that I do not drink human blood though. I have a special gift that allows me to see the past of sorts of anyone that I touch. It comes in handy when meeting someone for the first time if I do not see a reason to trust them. For the most of it you seem pleasant so I will leave that decision up to you, please know that I will not be offended if you wish to keep your history to yourself.” Nate spoke the truth he would only warn creatures about his gift if he thought he could trust them. EJ seemed worthy of that trust. Beside the fact that Nathaniel was doubtful whether or not much had happened in EJ’s life compared to some of the others that he had met.

Embry got excited when he heard Nathaniel, say he had be mostly correct but when he said he still feeds on humans but uses his gift to determine who he feeds on Embry got a bit defensive. "Dude, You should not go around saying you feed on human here in La Push the wolves don't like to her it nor do I. The Alpha would probably get man If I told him I ran into the likes of you in the woods and did not challenge you." Embry stated, he was not going ot challenge Nate anway there would be no way he could take on a vampire as hold as him and get away alive.

" But you don't seem to much of a Problem. Uncle Jake is looking more for these two brain dead bone head leaches, Crystal and Will. I guess they are threat to the Cullen family and Aunt Nessie. Jake Want to track them down before his kid is born." Embry did not know if he should be saying all this to the Vampire but he was not sure what to do at the moment. I guess they were in the woods here for bit before they took off." the truth was no one knew where Will and Crystal were at the moment they could have been half way to Paris by now as long as they did not come back to threaten Nessie, Will and Crystal would be safe until Jacob ran into them.

Nathaniel nodded his head as EJ explained how he should keep his diet preferences to himself. “I will keep my meals to myself then, thank-you for the warning. If your leader questions you, you may honestly tell him that it has been a few years since I have drunk the blood of a human. Only when I run into the foulest of creatures do I make the exceptions to my diet.” Nathaniel chuckled as soon as EJ said ‘brain dead leeches’. ‘Leeches must be the term they use for vampires, clever ones they are.’

Nate lost his self control as Embry mentioned Will and Crystal; a hiss escaped his lips. Almost as soon as the hiss escaped Nate locked his jaw and breathed all of the air from his lungs. Nate breathed in and spoke, “I apologize for that outburst Embry. I regret to say that I have met the two creatures that you are speaking of. If I had realized they were such a threat then I would have done more against them.” Nate was suddenly kicking himself for allowing Will and Crystal slip through his fingers.

"Well I tel Jake that but he I think at one point it would be better for you to meet him at some point, Uncle Jake always try to find out who is wondering the forests."Embry Was a little put off by Nate hissing. He had never been hear a Vampire hiss before, or had he ever come face to face with one alone.

Embry took a step backwards when he did Nate apologized. DUDE don't do it again, You might get me angry and I will phase like a mad man. I Know Crystal and Will are bot threats but I think the pack can handle them when they decide to show their faces again. Embry calmed himself down and looked back at Nate. "But if you see them again tell them that the wolves want to play." Embry had a grin spread across his face, He looked a lot like a younger Quil when he did so. "So what brought you to forks Old Dude."

“If this Jake is in charge then you are right that I should meet him.” Nathaniel said in agreement. Nathaniel flinched as he watched Embry step back from him. Embry had nothing to fear from Nathaniel and he knew that he had behaved inappropriately in front of EJ. A habit that had formed centuries ago; Nathaniel bowed to Embry, “I apologize again for my behavior.” Nate was unsure of why he was so concerned at the present with EJ’s opinions, but as soon as he wondered Nathaniel was answered by EJ’s question. "So what brought you to forks Old Dude."

Nathaniel laughed, “Well little one, it has been several decades since I have been to this part of the country and it is nice to see the changes. I must say though if I do meet Will again I will pass along your message along with a challenge to fight.” He was glad that he was able to speak of Will and keep his manners in check. Deciding to go back to the conversation that EJ had started Nate spoke, “I gather you are from close by.” Nate realized that Embry’s spunky attitude brought back memories of his human life. They were covered in what seemed to be a thick fog. It frustrated Nathaniel that he could not remember them completely. The only thoughts that stood out in his mind were the ones that Nate had spent the days with Shakespeare.

At that realization Nathaniel gave an uncharacteristic snort. ‘I am becoming far older than I realize.’ He knew that Embry would be amused by that thought, and Nate for his part trusted EJ. As a fellow being of the supernatural Nate knew that EJ would not, ‘correction most seemingly not freak out’. “You have quite a lot of spirit in you EJ.” Nate sighed and scratched the back of his head, “Something I wish to remember from my childhood. I suppose after four hundred and twenty some odd years you forget a thing or two.”

Embry Listen to Nate talk he just sounded so old the way he spoke everyone one of his words. " Yes sir I am from around here just live over in La Push it is the native reservation fifteen miles from here. Its a bit of a distance for a normal twelve year old it come to Forks but I am not normal " Embry grinned at Nate.

"You know there are some exceptions of being a werewolf and I like everyone of them, I have a high metabolism so I can eat as much sugar as I want at being twelve I love mt sugar. I think that and my age keeps me full spirited." Embry was beginning to think NAte was not that bad, with saying how he would fight Will. " Dude How old are you really? Your older then Dr. Fang"

Nate listened as Embry explained where he was from. He chuckled a little as EJ began talking about some of the benefits to being a werewolf. It was entertaining to Nate to find someone that was so personable as Embry was. “I would imagine eating all of the sugar you wish would be a serious advantage.” Nathaniel chuckled. He laughed again as Embry asked how old he actually was. “I was born in 1600, so if my calculations are correct then that would make me four hundred and thirty-nine years old. That would be a few years more then a twelve year old.” Nate tilted his head to the side slightly with a frown, “Who is Dr. Fang?” Nate knew that the head of the vampire world took up residence here but he was wondering how many others lived in this small town. As it seemed to be turning out there were more vampires then humans.

"1600 DUDE NO WAY!" Embry said loudly. "So you see like lots of changes in the world that is pretty sweet. After I am full grown I am going to phase everyday so I can be eternally eighteen-ish for the rest of my life which can be as long as i want it to be." Embry could not even dream about all the stuff Nate could have experienced over the four hundred and thirty nine years.

"Dr. Fang, Oh that just the resent vampire doctor that lives in forks, Carlisle Cullen. He is basically Nessie's grandfather, so he is Jake's grandfather in-law. Carlisle, works over at Forks hospital."Embry thought being in Forks Nate would have know that. "You don't know Dr. Cullen do you?"

Nathaniel chuckled as Embry reacted to his age; most of the other vampires that Nate had met were younger then him. “Yes I have seen this world evolve from an interesting place. Some things have remained the same, such as the way I speak. To be frozen as a young age does have positives but I believe eating all the sugar you wish is better then being forced to drink the blood of deer.” Despite the downer of having to drink blood Nathaniel enjoyed his life being eternally in the body of a twenty-one year old. Nathaniel listened as Embry explained who Dr. Fang actually was. Nathaniel chuckled at the play on the name. “I have heard of Carlisle Cullen but I have not met him personally. I have not spent very much time in Forks itself. I try to give the town breathing room. I have been keeping an extra eye on the forest for a hopeful run in with Will.”

[Jacob Black]

Jacob was running at top speed through the forest when he caught the smell of an unknown vampire. He always hayed doing s but when he heard Embry's thoughts about exploring Jacob began to become worried about him. If Ej ran into the vampire, what if it was Will he could not take him on alone. Jacob was about to order Embry to head home when without a warning Jacob could no longer hear him anymore. At first he thought it was his selective hearing but then as he tried to listen for his thoughts Jacob got nothing.


Trying to make sure Embry was no anywhere near the vampire Jacob picked up its trail until he was not to far away that's when also he could smell Embry . That darn kid got himself cornered by a vampire, I have to get him away

[/b] Jacob ran until he had the vampire and Embry in his human form in his sights. He raised his lip and began to growl as his ears flatten and fur began to spike . Damn. vampire. [/b] It was not Will but Jacob wished it was, he was in the mood to fight even more seeing EJ could be in danger.[/blockquote]
