Bella sat on the edge of her and Edward's bed, with her head in her hands. Everything was finally over with Alexandra and Jasper; the twins had been delivered and Alexandra was alive. Bella had done what she promised, yet she still felt completely despicable, like somehow she had betrayed Alice in delivering Jasper's twins. However, she knew that she had done so for the greater good. Had she not, then even more hell would have broken out between the family.
Now Jasper and Alice were officially divorced, Alice was engaged to Evan, and Jasper had left for Seattle. Things were beginning to settle down. Jacob and Renesmee had come home from their honeymoon and learned of all that had happened. Unsurprisingly, Renesmee was upset with the entire situation and was currently not speaking to Rosalie. Bella swore up and down that her daughter took after Edward in her theatrics and emotions.
As she sat on the edge of the bed, she thought of what was going to happen over the next few months and years...and hoped for the best.

Edward came into their room through the garden. He had been out at the house that he had build for Nessie, but still had not given to her. He had intented for it to be a coming home present but things had not worked out that way. Edward was thinking about everything that had happened to his family and was very upset about it. When he entered the room he saw Bella sitting on their bed. "Bella my love, what's wrong?" He asked her going to her side at once. He needed her so much right now and knew that they could get through this together.

Bella felt Edward at her side and heard his soothing voice. Lying her head on his shoulder, she sighed deeply. If she were able to cry, she would have, but she knew that it was not possible. "Edward, I don't know how all of this could have happened," she whispered. "Maybe if we had taken care of Crystal the moment Alice suspected something, we could all still be happy."
Inside, she knew that part of that still would not have been true. Jasper still would have sided with Crystal, preventing any family action. However, she knew that Alice was happy now that she had Evan in her life. Evan was the very sort of man Jasper used to be, so it was easy to see why Alice loved him. Plus, he brought out the fun side of Alice that used to be there all the time. "And I feel incredibly guilty for helping deliver the twins; like somehow I betrayed Alice. She is my sister and I...I just don't know anymore Edward."

He could see that Bella was hurting and that hurt him. He sat down beside her and wrapped his arms around her. "Bella love, Alice understands why you did what you did. She is happy with Evan and for that I am happy. I love my twin and want her to be happy. We all change, though it is not common for us to leave our mate. Come to think of it, I can not think of one other instance that this has ever happened. When we find our true mates, we are mated for eternity. You should know that from the hell that we went through with James and Victoria. Maybe Jasper was not her true mate." Edward realize the last part was a real possiblity. That also explained alot. Edward suddenly realized that thinks were going to be different, but he needed to fix is family. "I think that we need to focus on mending the family that we have left and rebuild things." He said to Bella as he kissed her on the top of her head.

Bella felt somewhat more soothed than she did a few moments prior, but there was still so much that needed to be fixed in their family. It was as if everything was left up to Bella to fix and she hated doing that because if she did something wrong, then everything would be worse than before. But, hearing Edward's words about Alice finding her true mate...it made sense. With Evan, there was no second guessing herself. Bella had never seen Alice as happy as when she was with him. It was like watching her own love life after she found Edward unfold, minus the species difference. "Honestly, I'm glad Evan came home with her," she admitted to her husband. "I don't know if she would have survived the entire Jasper ordeal without Evan at her side. He was nothing but a friend to her when she needed him. That friendship developed into a natural love." It made more and more sense to Bella when she said it out loud.
"And I guess you're right about mending the family we have left. Nessie refuses to speak to Rose because she took Jasper's side in the whole thing," Bella sighed heavily. "You know how our daughter is with her temper, just like you." The last part made Bella laugh a little bit. Like father, like daughter, she mused privately to herself.

Edward knew that things need to be mended but he was at a loss of how to actually to that. Edward understood better than anyone why Rose had taken Jasper's side. He knew that she did it for the exact same reason that he had taken Alice's side. Their were twins and that was that only thing that mattered. Edward loved his brother and miss Jasper, but he loved his twin more. They were as close as real twin could be. "Bella, I know that every one is upset over what Rose did, but I understand why she did it. I did the same thing only because it was Alice's side no one realized that." Edward said to her. He knew that Nessie was going to be the hardest to convince to forgive Rose. "Nessie is the only one that I am worried about, she does not forgive easily." He said as he stood up and started pacing.

Bella watched her husband pacing and knew he was right; their daughter was the least forgiving when it came to family matters. She remembered that Renesmee still had not talked to Jasper since before Alice left. And that was months ago. The rifts between their daughter and Jasper and Rosalie were chasms that needed to be bridged or closed. "What are we going to do?" she asked, standing up and taking her husband's hands. "Our daughter isn't going to just sit down and talk with Rose. You and I both know that. She is a stubborn one; always has been, always will be." Bella racked her brain for some sort of solution to make their situation better, but drew a total blank. Hopefully, Edward would come up with something. He always did.

Edward knew that Bella was right about Nessie not talking to Rose, but she would talk to him. He knew that he could get through to her and make her understand. "She will not talk to Rose, but she will talk to me. I am sure that I can make her understand every thing and hopefully forgive Rose enough to at least talk to her again." Edward said to her. Edward know that he and Bella would have their work cut out for them over the next couple of months.
Edward knew that things were getting out of hand and he was going to have to call a family meeting to start to mend things. He also knew that in order for the family to start to mend they would have to start talking to each other again. "Bella, I think a large part of the troubles with this family is that we stopped talking and lost the closeness that we used to have. We have to find that again and get back to where we used to be before we went to London." Edward said as he looked into his wife's eyes.

"I know that she will talk to you," Bella sighed, resting her head against Edward's chin. "And even without the entire family issues, she has been acting strange since she got home from Isle Esme. Some of her behavior is so out of character for our daughter. Maybe I'm imagining it or it's just because she is married now that I see her differently?"
Bella knew that things were constantly changing within their family, as it always had been since she joined. It was difficult to say, but this was not the same family Bella had married into thirty years previously. Not all of the changes were bad, but some of them were definitely unexpected. "I think a family meeting is a good idea, but we should definitely talk to our daughter first. She is our priority right now, as she always has been."

Edward knew that Bella was right, they needed to deal with Nessie first. She had been acting a little weird since she returned from her honeymoon. "Do we want to talk to her together or should I talk to her alone?" Edward knew that on their father and daughter outings he could get her to open up more. He loved their hunting trips, though as she had gotten older she had stopped hunting as much as she did as a child. He loved his daughter but knew that now things were different. He still had not been able to give her and Jake the house and it was frustrating to him.

Bella nodded and said, "Maybe you should talk to her first. She loves it when you both go hunting." Sighing, she walked a little away from Edward and looked out of the window toward La Push. She missed her little girl so much, even if she was right there. Renesmee's marriage had forced Bella to let go of her only child and let Jacob take her. "Edward, our baby has grown up," she said softly. "She isn't a little one anymore."

Edward knew that Bella was missing Nessie. He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her. "I miss her to, but it was time to let her go. We knew that this day would come. They would have been together years ago if we had not held on to her so tight." He knew that Nessie would have married Jake long ago if they had let her. "I will talk to her on our hunt and try to work things out with her, but right now I think that I need to spend some time with someone else." He said in a voice that changed at the end as he leaned in and kissed her on her neck from behind. He know that with everything that had been going on in the family they had not had any time to be alone with each other. Edward loved his wife and hated that they had not had time to explore their love. He kissed up her neck to her cheek as he turned her to face him. He took her face in his hands and kissed her with all the passion he ever had for her.

Bella knew that Edward was right. They had held onto their daughter for a long time and now it was Jacob's turn to have her. That was the way things were supposed to be. On his last words, Bella felt Edward's trail of kisses up her neck to her cheek until he turned her around. As he kissed her with all the passion he had, she did the same, placing her hands on his chest. It had been far too long since they had been alone together, with the wedding planning, the wedding, and all of the drama that followed. For the first time, Bella was completely undistracted as she kissed Edward wholeheartedly.
Breaking their kiss, she looked longingly into his eyes. "Far too long Edward; it's been far too long," she murmured.

Edward laughed as Bella spoke in between his kissed. He agreed that it had been far to long. "Yes, it has been far to long. We have not had the time to be together." He knew that he would never let so much time pass and them not spend time together. Edward loved spending alone time with his wife and loved her more now than he did then. "I love you, Mrs. Cullen." He lefted her and carried her to the bed. He was undressing her all the way to the bed.

Bella was completely undressed by the time they reached the bed, so she pulled off Edward's shirt and discarded it on the floor. Another few seconds later and his pants were gone to and her lips were back on his. It had been far too long since she had any intimate time with her husband and for this, she was thankful. Looking into his eyes for a moment, she said softly, "I love you, more than anything else in the world." Letting down her shield, she showed him some of their past memories. Some of them included their first night at Isle Esme and their first night together in their cottage. Then there were the ones of them together with their daughter when she was little; they were a happy little family.
