"Fine," she said, giving up. "I'll just ask Alice myself when I talk to her. It'll help me ease into the Jasper conversation that I don't really want to have." There was a sinking sensation in the pit of Bella's stomach that she really was going to hate the conversation she was going to have with Alice. Breaking her sister's heart was the last thing she ever wanted to have to do in regards to Jasper.
She wrapped her arms around Edward's torso and rested her head on his shoulder. This was the place where she felt safest; no matter what happened in the rest of the world, she was okay so long as she was in Edward's loving arms. "I love you Edward; don't you ever leave me, you hear?" He had already done that once and they saw how they could not live without one another. And she knew that he would never, ever do that again. They could never be apart.

Edward laughed at Bella got testy with him over not telling her about Alice and Evan, but that was not his secret to tell. "I know that it is going to be hard. Do you want me there with you, love?" Edward wanted to be there for his twin, but was not sure if Bella wanted him there. This may be one of those sister things. Edward wrapped his arms around her as she did him. When she said that she loved him and ask that he never leave her, he knew what she was thinking in the back of her mind. Edward had already made that mistake once and still remembered the pain that it caused both of them. "I love you too, my Bella love. I will never leave you again, ever." Edward said cringing at the memory.

Looking into Edward's eyes, she shook her head lightly at his question. "No, this is something that I need to tell Alice about on my own. This is something sisters need to be there for each other through and since Lexie is my cousin, I feel that she should hear it from me." Bella knew that this was going to be a devastating blow to Alice, no matter how lightly she tried to put it. Hearing that your husband cheated on you while you were overseas was the last thing any wife wanted to hear.
Even though Bella knew that Edward would never leave her again, it was still nice to be reassured that it would never happen. With all that was happening around them, it was difficult not to feel scared and testy. "You are my life Edward; my whole life and no one could ever take your place in my heart...period. You are my husband, lover, and father of our child. There is no one that could ever be that for me besides you."

Edward totally understood that Bella wanted to talk to Alice alone. "That is fine love. I am here if either of you need me." He said simply to her. Edward knew that Bella was nervous and that Alice was going to be hurt. Edward was pissed that either of them should have to go through this. Edward wanted to hurt Jasper so bad for this.
When Edward heard what Bella said to him, he could not help himself. He lefted her off her feet and kissed her with all the passion in him. Edward was glad that he did not have to stop anymore and that they were equals. The passion in their marriage was as strong now as ever. "You are my life, love, best friend, and the mother of our child. I could never live without you and I don't plan on it." Edward said as he set her back down on the floor.

Bella knew that Edward only wanted to be there for her and Alice, as a husband and brother. They were both going through a lot with the choices Jasper had made and continued to make. But Bella knew that so long as they were strong for each other, she and Alice could make it through anything as sisters.
When Edward picked her up, she giggled a little before he kissed her passionately. She loved him every bit as much as she did when they first met over thirty years ago, if not more if that were even possible. "And I don't plan on ever living without you," she agreed. "When all of this business is over with Jasper and Alice is alright, I think you and I should retreat to Isle Esme and recreate a little of our honeymoon...maybe destroy a pillow or two." At her last comment, she laughed out loud. That had always been a private joke between the two of them and would continue to be.

When Bella mentioned the pillows, he laughed out loud with her. He remembered those days of her being a human better than she did. He was glad that he had learned to control him self for her safety. "Okay, my love go and talk to Alice and I will be here when you get back." He said kissing her one more time. He knew that after the talk with Alice she would need him to comfort her and make things alright for her. Edward had always be protective over Bella and had never meant for her to have the be the strong one in the family. That was his job, but she was his equal in every way. Edward knew that Bella could more than handle herself when it came to dealing with family issues.

Bella nodded as Edward kissed her one last time so she could go talk with Alice about what had happened. "I love you Edward," she whispered. And she always would no matter what happened in their lives. She knew Edward would always be faithful to her and never had to worry about that. After he kissed her that last time, she headed off the the house to break the worst news possible to her beloved sister. This was going to be the most unpleasant conversation she ever had with Alice, including all the wedding ones while she was human. This was definitely way worse.
