Evan walked into Club Valis, not really into the whole atmosphere. It reminded him too much of the pubs back home in England, which gave him a sick sense of nostalgia for his human days when he would go out with his rugby team for drinks after games. However, he walked into the club with a purpose. He ordered a glass of mountain lion blood before finding a booth to sit in to wait for who he was meeting.
While waiting, he thought of Alice and how happy he was to have her in his life. She was going to be his wife; the one he spent his life with and nothing made him happier than to think about being with her, which was why he was at Club Valis in the first place. For Alice. What he was doing was for her.

Jasper walked into Club Valis just as many vampires got up to dance. He laughed because he knew the song well. He might go out to dance. It was just the hustle and one of his favorite dances. But first he needed a drink and he was here for another purpose.
Evan had called him earlier in the day and wanted to talk, face to face. Jasper agreed, but only under the terms that they met at Club Valis in public. He didn't see Evan right away, so he went up to the bar and ordered a glass of stags blood. He'd gotten his fill of moutain lion for a while.
As he looked around after his order was filled, Jasper spotted Evan in a booth so he slid off the bar stool he sat on and walked over casually. He nodded and said, "Evan."

Evan had sat back and was enjoying the general pulse of the atmosphere and the music. He wasn't quite used to the new American music, but he was sure he'd get used to it eventually since his move to the United States was permanent. There was so much about American culture that took getting used to, including their lack of soccer and extreme depervation from the amazing sport of rugby. A laugh escaped his lips when he thought about it. He'd have to teach Emmett how to play because he was certain to enjoy a rougher sport.
As he thought about how to teach Emmett the best way to play without killing too many trees, he saw Jasper walk up to him. It was just the person he wanted to see. He had called him to set up a civil meeting to make peace. "Hello Jasper, why don't you have a seat?" he asked politely, gesturing to the bench across the table of the booth.

Jasper sat down, face calm. He was in a little bit of an awe. He wasn't sure why. Maybe there was a different word for it. He didn't know what it was yet. It would come to him eventually. As he thought, he also waited for Evan to speak. In his experience, he wouldn't even speak to Evan except under the circumstances that he had come to him. He was over Alice. Did the message not get around after their conversation in the forest?

Watching as Jasper took a seat across from him, Evan noticed that he seemed really calm. In his limited experience with Jasper, he had never seen him so calm, but Evan had only ever seen Jasper a few times before and it wasn't in his best light. "I'm sure you are wondering why I even called you for this meeting," he began, his accent fading in and out through his words. "Given our...history, it really would not make sense for either of us to be talking to one another, but I felt the need to bring you here and apologize for the circumstances by which we came to know one another." Evan searched for the right words to bring this conversation about. He had never done anything like this before, so all of this was new.

Jasper gave Evan a curious look. He took a drink as Evan finished speaking and sat his cup down gently infront of him. Replaying his speech in his head, Jasper nodded, looking at the table, in thought. When he finally looked back up, he said politely, "Well, I appreciate your apology. And you're right. There really is no need for us to be speaking. I have no more connections with the Cullens, as you know. I have a new life now." He grinned in remission.

Evan nodded at Jasper's reply. He knew it made more sense for Jasper to get on with his life, just as Alice had. It was better for everyone in a sense, but Evan wanted Jasper to know that there were no hard feelings between the two of them. "Bella's kept us updated with the kids and such since she and Edward are godparents," he said, pausing to smile at the thought of the two little ones. He had to admit, they were cute kids. "Jasper, I just wanted you to know that even though you've made mistakes, you're still a good man. I respect you for how you have turned things around."

Listening to every word Evan said, Jasper had to admit, Evan wasn't a bad guy either. He would never say that outloud though. "Well I have made many mistakes in my life. I don't know if you know my history or not, but it all started then. My life with Maria was a living hell." He sighed. "This is probably something you don't wanna hear, but Alice made all the difference in my life. My own personal hell disappeared. I guess when things happened the way they did, I didn't know how to deal with it. I just didn't want to go back into the space that had existed so many years ago." He looked up around at the ceiling.

Evan listened intently to Jasper. He had to admit, the guy had been through a lot before he met Alice. Bella had shared some of Jasper's history with him when he had been curious about the various family members, but he had kept all of that information to himself as he was a private person as well. "You know, when I first met Alice, I knew that she was different. I had been living in my own hell, not neccessarily created by another woman like Maria had for you, but one of my own doing. She brought me out of it by being my friend and showing me that there was another way to live this life," he explained. "She was sunlight for me after living in a world of darkness because she was a friend to me. That is what I needed in that time was a friend, and she was that."

Jasper nodded. "Well I'm very happy for you. And if you could pass along the message to Alice that I hope that one day in the future we can be friend again." Just as he spoke he felt his phone vibrate. He flipped it open, on speaker. He didn't care if Evan heard or not. It was only Alexandra.
"Hello?"
"Your daughter is crying for you," Alexandra said. "Something about a bad dream about Daddy?"
"Okay. I will be there as soon as I can."
"Alright. But hurry, please. You know how long she'll go on about this."
"I will be there."
"Alright see you in a few."
Jasper hung up. To Evan, he said, "I'm sorry. I have to go." He stood up. "It was nice to see you in a better atmosphere." He held his hand out, offering to shake as a peace offering.

Watching as Jasper took the phone call, he knew that it was urgent or he would not have answered it. As he listened to the conversation, he knew that Jasper was a dedicated father just by how much his own daugher wanted him to come home. When the phone call ended and Jasper stuck out his hand, Evan shook it and nodded. "It's fine, I understand that you have obligations to your children and I will pass along the message to Alice," he vowed. "Maybe one day all of us can meet under celebratory circumstances. You are a good man Jasper and I consider you a friend."

Jasper smiled faintly. "Thank you. And I you. Good luck with your wedding." He let go of Evan's hand and turned around just as his phone vibrated again. He answered it as he walked. It was Rosie this time.
"Rosie I'm on my way home!" he nearly yelled.
"But I need you Daddy! I'm scared."
The conversation went on as he left Club Valis.
