Everything was set.
Jasper had agreed with Alexandra that when the twins were born that she could leave and he would not have to do a thing. This was the most he could say for his own will. Edward and Bella wouldn't have it that way and he still hadn't talked to the family, therefore he was alone in this battle.
As for Alice's wishes for a divorce--she could shove them. He was not giving her a divorce. Not way in hell could he be a victim of divorce. It just wasn't possible. He'd gotten a hold of Peter and Charlotte and spoke to them about the situation. They thought Alice was stupid for what she wanted and it also provide Jasper for answers to why he blacked out whenever he tried to control Lexie's emotions.
She was a "ricochet".
Peter had only seen it one time before. A human he and Charlotte had stumbled accross who could not be affected by any kind of special ability that affected or got into the body. It made the vampire do whatever it was they were trying to do to that person to themselves and obscure the effect. Jasper knew what had happened that night with Alexandra at that point. He tried to control her emotions and it richoched off of her and hit him, causing him to blackout and he controlled his own emotions, but he did the opposite of what he was trying to do. Instead of calming himself down, he made himself adrenalized. And instead of trying to get her away from him, he slept with her.
It all made sense now.
His final plans, now, were that once the kids were born and gone that he was leaving. He would not give Alice a divorce, but he also couldn't be with her if she could no forgive him for something he had no control over. He wondered if she saw him leaving. She probably didn't give a damn. He still loved her, no question. But he'd overheard her and Evan the other day and saw them kiss. It broke his heart and now he was going back to his roots.
He would go to see Maria. |

Alice was packing her things up and getting ready to move into her new home with Evan. Alice was hurt by what Jasper did and didn't want anything to do with him anymore. She ran up the stairs and into what used to be her and Jaspers room. However when she entered the room she saw someone she wasn't looking forward to seeing, Jasper. Alice stopped. "Hello Jasper." She said as she walked to the closet.

Yo, fix ur sigs because they stretch the screen. When Jasper finished packing, he heard Alice walked in the room. He wasn't planning on saying anything. That was until she said hi to him. The least he could do was return the greeted. "Hi Alice." he said.
Then something caught his eye. It was a box in the corner. Something he hadn't seen in years. He walked over and opened it. Inside was a glass heart that had his and Alice's names in them. It had been a gift from Carlisle and Esme after they'd gotten married the first time. He just stared at it for a minute, a lot of memories coming back, and put it back in the box, closing it and picking it up. He'd take this with them. He was probably the one who would be able to stand looking at it without wanting to break it. He took it out to the room and stuck it into a suitcase. |

Alice saw Jasper put a small box into his suitcase. "What's that?" She asked trying to act like she didn't really care. Alice took some of her clothes off the hanger and folded them. She realized that Jasper was packing to.o. "And where are you going? Don't you have babies to take care of or something?"[/b She snapped at him.

MARNIE! FIX UR SIGS! THEY STRETCH THE SCREEN! Jasper turned his head quickly then back when Alice asked him what was in the box. "It's our glass heart," he responded in a quiet voice. He zipped the suitcase up and picked it up. Then when Alice snapped a question at him, he said, "Actualy she's going away to take care of the children where they're born and I'm going to see an old friend." His tone wasn't nearly as rude as hers, but he completely understood why she felt that way. |

THEY MUST ONLY STRETCH THE SCREEN ON YOUR COMPUTER BECAUSE THEY LOOK FINE ON MINE AND OTHER PEOPLES!
Alice turned and looked at Jasper. "And you think you have the right to take the heart and not ask me if I want it?" She asked him. Then she heard him say he was planning to let Lexie take care of the babies alone. "Wow Jasper. I thought I knew you better than that. I mean not wanting to raise your own kids, what kind of person does that?" Alice said giving Jasper a death stare. "You want to know what kind of person does that? A coward!" She snapped at him.

Well, we're going to fix them b/c it's stretching the screen. "I know you won't want it," Jasper stated. As for her comments about him not taking care of the kids, he replied, "You know what, Lexie doesn't want me to have anything to do with them and that's mainly because of you. She doesn't love me and I don't love her. So she was trying to give us a chance to get back together." He picked a suitcase up from the bed and carried it over to the corner of the room whether some of his other stuff was. "But it's obviously not going to happen." He turned around. "You should really consider talking to Lexie. Not only for the fact that she wants to apologize for causing all of this, but to try to get you to reconsider." But I know you won't because you're acting like a stubborn bitch! |

Alice looked at Jasper and crossed her arms. "Jasper I want you to take care of those kids. They should no their father." Alice said to him calming her voice down and trying to get him to understand. "I never knew my real father and I wish I had. I try even now to think of him and remember what he was like. To try to figure out if I look like him or have some of the same manners he did." Alice said moving towards Jasper. "If you do one thing for me, it would be to stay and help raise those kids. They are going to be half vampire, just like Nessie. And Lexie will not know what to do with them. She won't be able to take them hunting, or teach them how to have a veggie lifestyle like us." Alice tried to explain this to Jasper. She stopped where she was and looked at him. "I will talk to Lexie. But just know that if you don't help her raise those babies. I will." Alice was dead serious about that.

"But the whole reason I'm not raising them is because I want you! Everyone thinks I'm in love with her when the truth is, I still love you! Alice just shook her head at Jasper. "You would be letting me down the most if you didn't help Lexie with those kids. You might not love her, but those are your children. How can you leave something that you were a part of making. Something so little and innocent?" Alice asked him and then looked down. She thought she knew Jasper better than this. The Jasper that she fell in love with would have never left his own children, no matter what the reason was. And Alice would have never wanted him to leave them, even if she wasn't the mother. "Jasper do the right thing. If not for those babies, then for me." She said looking right back up at him.

"How could you leave me for Evan?!" Jasper aksed, his voice getting louder, making him sound like he would cry if he could. "I can't take care of the babies, Alice, dammit! They'd be a constant reminder of seeing you and Evan kissing in the livingroom! I can't tell you how hard it is for me to erase that picture in my mind! How hard it is for Lexie to live with the guilt of getting drunk over a married man!" He laned his back against the wall, turned to the side and hit it with a tight fist. |

Alice had not known that Jasper had seen her and Evan kiss. "Jasper kissing is one thing. Making love to a woman and then have her have your babies is quite another. How will those babies remind you of me kissing Evan anyway?" Alice was confused by that. The babies had nothing to do with why Alice kissed Evan.

Jasper explained it in the best, calmest way he could. "I didn't have sex with Lexie willingly. I talk to Peter. He's seen this one time before. She's a ricochet. When a vampire that controls something that gets inside the mind or body or even affects it, their attempt bounces off of the person and affects the vampires, but it obscures it. It makes them do or think something they wouldn't normal do or think." Jasper pushed himself off the wall and walked over to the open window where a nice breeze came through. |

Alice understood what Jasper was saying but there was one thing she didn't understand. "Well how did you get yourself in the situation that it could have even happened?" Alice asked him. She understood that vampires with powers could have someone who could block them or they didn't work on. I mean Nessie and Jacob were hers, and Edward had Bella when she was human. But Alice also knew that there was a way to make it not happen. "How did you get in the situation that it made you sleep with Lexie?" She asked him again.

"I think she was so dazzled by me when I first met her and Ronnie that she went out getting drunk because I was her cousin's brother-in-law and she would never be with me. She didn't know about you." He sighed, trying not to rush too much and quickly continued.
"She came back home but she didn't want Bella to know. I think she wanted me to console her. I was going to try to control her emotions to calm her down and take her to Bella for the proper punishment. But when I tried I blacked out once and she fainted. I caught her and drug her over to the bed to prop her up. When I tried again, I blacked out. I woke up and the unthinkable happened. I dressed both of us quickly because she was asleep and snuck her back to the cottage. She never said anything to me. The first I heard of the pregnancy was at the wedding reception."
This was the whole truth. As if he could really lie to Alice. |
