Jasper and Alexandra sat in the livingroom. It would be any time now that she would give birth to the twins, for she was freaking huge and looked like she would explode. Jasper held her hand as she breathed at a moderate pace, resisting the urge to try and control her emotions. He knew it wouldn't work anyways.
"How long do you think it will be?" Alexandra asked Jasper.
Jasper shook his head. "I don't know. I really don't know."
Veronica walked into the room carrying a piece of leftover pizza from the other day. "I still can't believe you're having babies. Especially vampires babies!" Her mouth was full.
"Half vampire babies," Jasper corrected her.
Veronica rolled her eyes and plopped down in a chair, turning the radio on. Song |

Bella was having one long week and nothing was helping. In between taking care of Alexandra, mediating between everyone, and trying to keep her calm...she was emotionally tied. Everyone seemed to have an opinion on everything and Bella was about ready to snap on everyone, including those she loved most. Edward and Bella had made the arrangements to keep Jacob and Renesmee away at Isle Esme while everything was going haywire at the house. She knew the situation would be worse if Renesmee were around to see all of the family bickering and fighting the way they were.
When she walked into the mansion, Alexandra, Veronica, and Jasper were already there. Without saying a word, she went over and checked Alexandra's vitals to make sure that everything was going smoothly. Birth was imminent and Bella knew that by her sheer size. Once that was done, she went off to the side and texted Edward.
I need you at the mansion. I love you.

Edward had slipped away to catch a snack. With everything that had been going on at the mansion since the Wedding, he had not had time to hunt, but he was getting very thirsty. His eyes were already black and he knew that with the humans in the house, he could not risk being that thirsty. Edward had not planned on being gone that long but he knew that he would have to come back soon for a longer hunt. Edward knew that Bella probably hadn't hunted either with everything that she was dealing with.
Edward caught and drained two deer when he got Bella's text. Edward knew that those would have to be enough to sustain him for a little while. Edward started back towards the house and sent a text back to Bella.
I am on my way. Love you too.

As he entered the house he went straight to Bella's side. "What's going on, love?" Edward asked her as he stopped at her side.

Bella received Edward's text about ten seconds before he walked through the door. A sense of relief washed over her as soon as he was at her side. Turning toward him, she took his hand and let him outside where they could talk privately and away from prying ears, vampire and human alike. She made sure Jasper had not followed or was anywhere within earshot before letting her guard down. However, she decided that it still wasn't safe enough, so she lowered her shield to talk to Edward through her mind.
Lexie isn't going to make it much longer. The babies are too big for her to carry, so we are going to have to intervene and do something if she has any hope of even surviving the birth. Gently she placed her hands on his chest and looked into his eyes, which were golden from a fresh hunt. That reminded Bella that she would need to hunt soon as well, but there were other priorities right then to be taken care of. Her thoughts continued, I know that I hate using this authority, but I feel like we need to do something as the royal couple before everything our family loves is destroyed.

Alexandra kept aware of how Edward and Bella were communicating with their supernatural skills. It bugged her that she didn't know what they were saying. She just sat there, trying not to make it obvious that she was listening.
Or at least attempting to.
Jasper on the other hand could feel their worry. He was so tempted to calm the room down, but because of Alexandra, he would blackout again and this time he wouldn't know for how long.
To keep his mind straight, he sang along with the song on the radio, which Veronica was already doing. She knew every word, as did he.

Edward followed Bella out of the house and to where she stopped. He was expecting her to talk but when she dropped her shield, he understood why. He heard what she said and know that she was right about the babies getting to big, but he was not sure about the other part. With everything that had happened he was questioning whether the others would fight them or not. Edward just simply nodded the Bella and knew that the time was growing near.
Edward walked back into the house to get Jasper. If the time was near then he needed to talk to Jasper as he was the one that was going to have to make the ultimate decision. "Jasper can you came outside for a few minutes and talk to us, please?" Edward was being as nice as possible to Jasper after everything that had happened lately. Now was not the time to deal with the hurt or the betrayal that most felt. Lexie's life was hanging in the balance and was what needed to be focused on right now.

Rose had been in her room and decided to come down stairs. Since Rose had found out about the pregnancy, her concern had been for her brother. Rose really did not care about the girl only about her twin, Jasper. Rose came down and saw that Edward was talking to Jasper wanting him to come outside. Rose walked over to Jasper and smiled at him. She seemed to be the only one in the family that was on his side. "I am here, if you need me." She whispered the him as she moved to a chair in the living room and sat down. She was not speaking to Edward at the moment.

When Edward asked Jasper to step outside, he said, "Uh.....shurrrre." The expression on his face was akward. Then when Rosalie said she was there for him he looked at her with a meaningful expression and mouthed "Thank you" to his twin. Then, he stepped outside with Edward. He turned around and said, "What now?" in a calm tone that tried not to seem like he was still pissed off--which he was.
Alexandra just hummed along with the new song on the radio while Veronica sang. She was very loud as she sang and even Alexandra's humming was a bit loud. Song 2 |

Bella could tell that Jasper was not the happiest person in the world about coming outside to speak with them, but this was something they needed to discuss with him. Once he was outside, Bella took a calming breath so that she would not blow up at him for his tone of voice. "Jasper," she began calmly and gently, "If there is any chance of Lexie surviving that birth, we need to get the twins out now. I know you don't want anything to do with them, but since you are their father...I just needed to know if you want to be present at the birth?" The question was simple and incomplex, not accusing him of anything or threatening him. She hoped that he would take it that way.

What kind of question is that?! Jasper thought. Even though the thought was meant for himself, he knew Edward would hear it, but it didn't occur to him until after he thought it. "Of course I want to be there." He closed his eyes and sighed. Just tell them Jazz. "And I need to tell you something. I've decided to stay. Now don't get too excited because I'm not gonna be living in Forks. I'm going to Seattle, so I won't be that far away. And Lexie said I can take the kids whenever I want, but she gets primary custody of them. We discused this when you were gone." |

Bella nodded and felt some sense of relief wash over her. After all the drama of the previous weeks, there was finally something that made sense to her. Stepping forward, she drew her brother into a light hug. "I'm glad you're going to be in their lives," she said softly. Through all the fighting and drama over everything that had happened, Bella was just happy that Jasper decided to stay and help raise his children. It was just a better situation that way.
Letting go, she looked back at Edward and then to Jasper. "There isn't much time," she continued. "When I checked Lexie's vitals a few minutes ago, her blood pressure's dropped significantly. The babies are too big now for her to carry. They have to come out...today."

Jasper managed a smile and gave Bella a small hug back. When she let go, he listened to her and he nodded in agreement. "I understand. I want her to be safe under all circumstances. But she says she'd rather die than live. I'm done talking to her. I can't have any more attachement." |

Bella nodded slowly, understanding Jasper's words. "I will do everything I can, short of changing her, in order to keep Lexie and the twins safe," she promised. In her heart, Bella knew that Jasper did care for his children on some level the same way Edward did for Renesmee. Edward had been resistant to becoming a father as well, until he heard Renesmee's mind in her womb. Maybe there would be a connection when the twins were born that would help Jasper bond with his own children. "Jasper, do you want me to do anything else for you?" she asked sincerely.

Jasper shook his head. "I can handle it. I hunted. I'm fine. I wanna be there." He just wanted to know what he was having. A girl and a boy? Two girls? Two boys? He was dying to know so he could get it over with. He walked back into the house and knelt down beside Alexandra. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Quite relaxed actually"
Jasper smiled, and it was small. "Good." BTW, Rosabella and Edmmett are not going to take too well to violence and blood and all that stuff, which is quite ironic consider who their father is, but in a way, it's not that ironic. |

Bella watched as Jasper went back inside. He was ready for this to be over and frankly, so was Bella. For the last few weeks, she had been dreading this day. But, who better to deliver a vampire child than someone who had given birth to one herself. Sighing deeply, she turned back to Edward. "I think he's ready," she said softly. "I want you to help me in this Edward. Delivering these babies is going to be difficult and things might happen that could upset Jasper. Keep him calm, no matter what you have to do. Promise me that, okay?"
