It had been a few days since Evan moved from London to Forks in order to begin his new life as a vegetarian vampire. The urges weren't unbearable to go hunt humans, so he was able to keep his time and thoughts occupied. Being around Alice's family made things a little easier. Her brothers and sisters all seemed very welcoming of him, especially her twin Edward. Life as he knew it had changed forever because of Alice. The moment she walked into his life, he knew that he would never be the same. Everything about her made him want to keep living his immortal life and she showed him a new way to keep living without ending the lives of other humans.
As he paced around his new home, he thought of the day that he and Alice met. It had been a cloudy day, as usual, in the city of London and Evan had been moping about, trying to find something, anything to sustain him so he would not have to take another human life. Walking the streets of the city, he caught an unfamiliar scent; that's when he saw her for the first time. She was absolutely stunning to him, with her pixie-like features and stunningly pale skin. Finally, someone he could relate to! But, she looked so...forlorn, like something was bothering her. That's when he decided to introduce himself in hopes of finding a friend. He quietly walked over to her as she stopped in front of a shop and politely said in his British accent, "Excuse me, miss. You look like you're having a bit of a rough day, might I be of any help to cheer you up?" And that was history. Their friendship was fast and deep; he could tell her anything and vice versa.
While pacing, he also began to think about Jasper; Alice's husband. It seemed almost...awkward when they arrived at her niece's wedding reception. Jasper had obviously done something that bad or Alice would have mentioned him before while they were still in London. Not once had she ever told Evan about Jasper. Maybe that is what she was running from in the first place? He stopped to ponder this thought as he sat on the couch.

Alice skipped into the front door of the house after a long day of shopping. She looked around, she had missed the house while she was gone but she was back now. Alice smiled to herself and then smelled and smell that was one of her favorites. "Evan?" She called out as she walked into the living room and saw him walking around. She ran up and jumped on his back and kissed his cheek. "What's up?" She asked him with a small giggle. "You're not thinking about leaving me are you?" Alice asked again in a playful way. She loved that Evan had come back to Forks with her. The thought of leaving him back in London killed her.

Amidst his pacing, Evan caught a scent that was all too familiar to him. Seconds later Alice had jumped on his back and had kissed his cheek. Out of all the people, mortal or immortal, she was the easiest to adore. Her stunning beauty and impeccable charm had won him over in London, but also there was her heart. She loved her family so much and Evan saw that.
"Not much really," he replied to her first question before quickly answering the second. "And I could never think of leaving you. You are my dearest friend and I could never just go away." A few seconds later, he set her down on her feet and turned to face her. Her face was like that of a cherub, so innocent and charming, yet held the wisdom of a wise woman. Evan knew that Alice also had a heart of gold; unlike anyone he'd ever seen in his life. She was the very sort of girl that his family would have loved to see him marry. But, he pushed aside those thoughts and only saw his friend before him. She was married and he had to remember that. "Actually, I was just thinking about how much life has changed for me. When I first came to my immortal life, I would have never thought that a vampire's life could be sustained by animal blood. And now I have seen that and know that I never have to take another human life again to keep my own," he paused momentarily and kissed her hand. "And I have you to thank for that. You are a blessing."

Alice looked up at Evan and giggled. "I did nothing, you are the one who wanted to change." Alice said to him and took his hand as she took him over to the couch with her. "There is something I have been wanting to talk to you about Evan." Alice said as she sat down. This was it Alice was going to tell Evan how she felt about him but she didn't know how to say it. "This might sound odd and maybe you don't feel the same way." Alice said looking down. She really was at a lost for words for the first time.

Evan smiled as Alice took his hand and lead him over to the couch to sit down. Everytime he felt her hand touch his, it brought a sense of happiness to him that he never really understood. The only thing he knew was that Alice made his life that much brighter. As soon as she began talking, he knew that something was different about her. There was a nervousness in her voice that he had never heard before. It was like she didn't know how to tell him something. Reassuringly, he took both of her hands into his own and looked into her eyes, speaking to her in a soft and gentle voice, "You know that you can tell me anything. So let's hear it."

Alice looked at Evan, there was so much going through her little mind. Jasper had cheated and Alice was having feeling towards Evan. "Well Evan, I think...." Alice took a deep breathe and tried to start again. "Evan I think I might be falling for you." She said in a quick tone and turned away from his face. She didn't know how he felt in return but Alice hoped it was the same way she did. "You don't have to say anything if you don't want to. I mean I will understand." She said letting him know he didn't need to say anything right away.

As the words left Alice's mouth, Evan noticed her immediate shy response of turning her face away from him. Hearing that she was falling for him caught him off-guard because he thought that they would only ever be friends. But, he couldn't deny what he was feeling anymore. Gently, he used his finger to pull her chin back toward him so he could look into her eyes. Those adorably cute eyes that held every emotion in them. "Alice," he said softly, bringing his face slowly towards hers. "I knew from the moment I saw you that I would fall for you, but kept my distance because I thought it would be better. But now I see that I can't do that anymore. I've been falling for you since that first day in London and haven't stopped since."
Their faces were less than an inch apart and he softly reached forward and graced her lips with his.

Alice fell into Evans lips as he kissed her. His lips were soft and tasted so sweet, Alice couldn't help but smile a little as they kissed. She slowly pulled away. "I'm leaving Jasper." She whispered and she took Evans hand in hers. "While I was gone Jasper slept with Bellas cousin and now they are having babies." She said looking down, there was still hurt and pain in her. She looked down. "I'm glad you are here and that I have you in my life Evan." She looked back up and put her other hand on his cheek. "I love you." She said with a smile on her face. Evan made all the pain she had about Jasper go away.

The moment his lips touched hers, Evan knew that life was going to be different. He felt all of her pain from Jasper and all the love she had for him. Then he heard her explanation that she was leaving Jasper for his infidelity and it took a lot of control to bite back the anger boiling inside of him. How could he do that to someone as wonderful as Alice? his mind barked. He watched as she put her hand to his cheek again and professed her love for him. Every cell inside of his body scurried in a frenzy at her touch; one perfect little hand on the side of his face did this. He knew exactly why. "I love you too Alice," he said, resting his hand on her own that was on the side of his face. "And Jasper is a fool for what he has done to you. He doesn't realize what a treasure he is losing." Gently, he rested his forehead against hers. The pain she was feeling was receeding and he could feel it.

Alice pressed her head against Evans. "Lets move out of this house. Get a place of our own." Alice said to him. Thats what she thought would be the best for her at this point. She needed to get out of the Cullen house and far away from Jasper and Lexie. She would be in the house and around and Alice could not be around that as it would be going on. "Just a small little place, just us. What do you say Evan?" She asked him with a small smile on her face.

Evan smiled at the mention of moving in with Alice. It made his heart soar that he could have this perfect person with him always. She had always been the most beautiful thing to him, but he had always held back on the notion that she was only his friend. However, now he knew how she felt and he reciprocated those feelings. He only wanted her happiness. "I think that is an excellent idea," he agreed. "That way, we are together and you are far from the pain and hurt here." Gently, he pressed his lips to her perfect little ones once more. It was almost as if he had found the piece of the puzzle that had been missing his entire life, mortal and immortal. Alice completed him and he hoped that he did the same for her.

Alice jumped a bit when Evan said yes, she gave a huge hug. "Oh Evan you are the best" She giggled. Alice then pulled away and ran to get a notebook from her room upstairs, she was back in a flash. "Okay we should start looking for places soon. What kind of place are you thinking about?" She asked Evan. Alice was so excited, she would get to shop for the place and decorate the place however she wanted and she couldn't wait for that.

Evan laughed as Alice was suddenly very excited about the idea of moving in together. He watched her eyes light up as she came back downstairs with her notebook to talk about where to live nd how to decorate everything. Honestly, Evan didn't know the first thing about houses, so he would trust Alice's judgement over his own any day. "Actually, I don't know too much about the housing business," he sheepishly admitted, his accent coming out full-fleshed. "The most I really know is whether they're made of brick or wood." At that, he had to laugh at himself because it sounded so cliche' for a guy not to know anything about houses. "But I do know that wherever we are, I will be happy because you are with me."
He knew that wherever he went, if Alice was with him, that he would forever be content. He loved her with everything inside of him and didn't understand how Jasper could do such a thing to a perfect angel like her. The entire time they were in London, they were nothing but friends and Evan would be the first to attest to that. She never did anything remotely close to cheating on her husband. How Jasper could betray this perfect angel was beyond him.

"Bella told me that there are a few houses not far from her and Edward that no one lives in. Maybe we should check those out." Alice said in a giddy tone. She really didn't know what she would do without Evan in her life. If he hadn't come back to Forks with her and was here when she found out about Jasper and Lexie, Alice would of been so lost. She took Evans hand and looked up at him in a loving way. "Thank you my love." She whispered as she leaned forward and pressed her lips against his.

"Anywhere you wish to go is my command," he said as she pressed her lips to his. They were a perfect fit for him. Alice was perfect for him in every way. Feeling her hand in his, he felt all of her happiness from being togather with him. It was an emotional high unlike any other he had ever felt before. Of all the people he could have fell for, he was glad it was Alice. She was an amazing person with a heart of gold. Her deep love and affection for her family, along with her genuine love for him was what attracted him to her most.
Breaking their kiss, he pressed his forehead to hers gently again and looked into her eyes. "Alice Cullen, you have bewitched me body and soul, and I love you," he murmured.
