The purple shadows beneath Jonathan's eyes were almost beginning to look like he'd broken his nose. Sleep was, while plentiful, barely even helping anymore when it came to refreshing. Sure, nights like the one he was now trying to recover from by splashing himself with cool water from the tap weren't unfamiliar, but they were from different times- times like when he was getting freakishly tall in a matter of months. But Jon was nineteen now- that sort of thing was supposed to have stopped years ago. So why had it been happening more and more strongly since he'd moved to La Push?
Ugh, whatever, he groaned in his head, grabbing a rough, scratchy towel and drying his face. It's probably the water or something. He stepped wearily, dragging his feet, into his bedroom, pulling on the first shirt he grabbed out of his closet and readjusting his joggers. La Push, day five...
There was nothing he had to do today, either, he realized. But there was no use trying to go back to sleep, either, and he really hadn't figured his way around the reservation quite yet... What the heck. Rubbing his eyes, he stepped down the hallway to the front door, pulling it open, the fresh, chill breeze stirring him as he shut the door behind him.
It was surprising that he could hear the waves from his front porch- he'd never noticed them before, but, then again, he also hadn't noticed the La Push Welcoming Committee till two days ago, either. Ugh, that kid was too cheery... though he technically wasn't a kid, but still. Ugh, whatever... The waves sounded almost enticing, anyway, compared to his alternatives.
The sand felt relaxingly cool on his feet as he shuffled through it, the tiny grains almost tickling his toes as the breeze, stronger here, pulled at the legs of his pants. This beach was a good enough reason to move here, he realized almost happily. At least it was the sort of place you could stop and think without interruption...

Jacob was moping around the beach, Renesmee had been away in New York and he had felt lonely without her. He walked along the beach, trying to pick up her scent, they spend a time thee just a few day before he should be able to pick up something, But the only smell that filled his nostrils was the smell of that Jonathan, kid he met the other day. Jacob lifted his head and he saw him about a few yards away, he might as well say hi again right?
Jacob strolled up to the Kid and he looked at him but less cheerful then the last time he met."Hey Man, hows La Push treating you ? He said half heartedly

Jon merely stared ahead into the distance, letting the softened whoosh, whoosh of the waves brush amongst the breezes. It was almost entrancing and, to a degree, sleep-inducing- if only, of course, sleep would have done him any good. He really wasn't thinking of much of anything now; the sibilant sound had him blissfully distracted... until an all-too-familiar, husky voice broke the "silence".
No friggen way. Again?! he groaned in his head, turning his head momentarily away from the source to let out a low, growling sigh that the Boy Scout shouldn't have been able to hear. Painfully, he forced a mildly pleasant grimace across his face and turned to face Jake, whose face, fortunately, didn't remind him so much of a puppy dog facing a bag of treats this time around. Still... why couldn't he just leave him alone?! He didn't even notice the faint trembling from his hands as he took a deep breath to reply.
"Hey, Jake," he replied, surprising himself with how pleasant he sounded yet aware that the annoyed tone he could usually hide was noticeable. "Good, I guess. I should probably get a job or something, though. The 'new house' smell is starting to wear off," he attempted to joke, tone unchanged though he grinned. And, as much as he really didn't want to, he forced himself to attempt to make conversation pleasantly. "Something bothering you? You don't seem as peppy today," he asked, realizing a moment too late that he sounded like he was pleased that Jake wasn't as happy. Well, of course, he was, but even Jon wasn't that rude to actually make a point of it... usually. What was up with him lately?

Jacob could tell by the tone of Jonathan's voice he was kind of irritated, after forty eight year of life it was no longer difficult him him to read emotions. "I could try to hook you up with a job but I don't work besides fixing cars here and there for people in the community.Even that I have not been doing much, not since Renesmee and I began dating." Jacob said halfheartedly before answering his question. "Wrong?" Jacob looked a Jonathan Oddly for a moment surprised he could tell he was acting different.
"...Well have you ever love something so much you felt like you could never live without it?...To me that is Renesmee, She and her mom when to New York for the week and I be virtually lost with out her...But you just a kid you would understand love the way I do." Jacob slipped up and called Jonathan a kid..hopefully he would not catch it or get mad because of it. The way Jacob saw it Jonathan was a kid.

Jonathan said nothing in reply, merely half-smiling at Jacob's job offer. An eyebrow rose in curiosity, though, at the mention of Jake's girlfriend. He had a girlfriend? A grin almost crossed his face as he thought, mentally chuckling, Must be as weird as him... 'course, with the name 'Renesmee', what do you expect?
Jon shrugged when Jake asked about love. Contemplating his reply as this less than perky puppy explained, he almost began to reply when he stopped to take a breath. It was awkward to try to talk about love to this guy, especially since he'd known him all of two days, but he started quietly, awkwardly, "...yeah, sort of, I gue--"
Then Jacob gave him the line about being a kid. The belittlement borne of that assumption irked Jon, sending a shiver (assumed on his part of being due to the breeze) up his spine as his expression fell relatively blank. That's a little much for even this kid to assume, he thought with tinges of venom.
"...uh... excuse me?" he replied softly but boldly, his eyebrows pulling together. "...I might just know a thing about love, thanks. That's a lot to assume from me, ya know." The words were now coming out as a low sort of growl, though they were so from no intention of his. His arms, involuntary and unnoticed by him, were now trembling lightly as he continued. "Since you seem to know so much about me, kid," he shot arrogantly, "care to tell me what my deal is with my mom? Or do you already know? Or how about my dad, besides what I already told you?"

"Jacob look at Jonathan with a I did not mean to offend you look on his face, '"It seemed like You a bit of a hot head, I was not trying to be ruse but go a hear and take it that way." Jacob shot back hearing the the rumble in Jonathan's voice and seeing his arms treble a bit, Jacob knew what was going on he has seen may kids phase now and now he knew Jonathan was well on his way too. Jacob wanted to make him phase now so he was going to get angry too.
"Well I don' t know much about you, But it seems to me you got a bit of a temper, or maybe you problem with your mom is that she starches your underwear too much,." Jacob laughed tying to him him madder

Jon nearly twitched when Jacob called him a hothead. He'd heard that so many times before... and, yet, it had never bothered him this much. But man, something about this Jake kid just got under his skin and made his blood boil... He clenched his teeth as Stupid continued to shoot his mouth off, squeezing his eyes shut. He'd never been this irritated before... ever.
He opened them quickly to see Jacob's amused, laughing expression. Having plainly heard every last syllable, another shiver shot down his spine to his tightly closed fists as he growled back through his still-clenched teeth, "She's dead, stupid." That was all he felt like telling this dumb kid, but his temper got the best of him. "Yeah, my mom's dead," he added rudely, his knack for comebacks kicking in. "Y'know my mom- she's like that one lady you're going to end up living with for the rest of your life, along with her thirty three cats. I'm sure Freaknesmee's great with living with your mom, though- especially if she's settling for an obnoxious Boy Scout like you." A humorless laugh broke from behind his still-clenched teeth. "Good luck! Don't forget to change the litter box daily!" he mocked.
Jon's heart was racing, pounding his ears with every beat. He was vaguely aware that his whole body was shaking, but, really, he didn't care. It seemed, though, that the beach itself was opposed to this meeting; the breeze, which had seemed comfortable enough at the beginning, was now chill, piercing- but it hadn't changed direction or speed in the least. And, yet, it barely seemed to touch him through some wild wall of warm air around him. When he looked back on the scene later in life, he supposed the wind thing was probably due to a rising body temperature...

Jacob Listen to Jonathan speak, Jacob though the mom bit on his part was a little low, Jake mom died when he was young and knew how hard it was growing up without a parent. He felt like apologizing until he dragged Renesmee to the conversation.
"FREAKNESMEE, really you have to go there didn't you? Well, asshole if you like to be a total prick and verbally attack me by Calling my girl friend names, Then I guess I put my 'boy scout' charms away and and knock to into next week. Although next year sounds better, or ten years from now by the time you get back I am not going to be any older." Jacob said angrily he wanted to introduce his fist to Jonathan's face. He knew he was going to phase soon might as well make him madder by throwing a punch.
Jacob looked over a Jonathan and began to crack his knuckles."Oh and just to let you know my mom has been dead for over forty years so talking about my mom is not going to bug me at all ..And as for the cats" Jacob raise his large fist and sent it straight for Jon's face .

The whole beach was now suddenly shaking in a violent red gaze as Jacob decided to talk big. It seemed that just about everything about this guy irritated him beyond all reason, and now he was going to... "What? Ya gonna punch me? Do it!" he barked back over Jake's muttering about his mom, his every nerve almost on fire with his anger. The look in the kid's eye told him what was coming, but it certainly didn't tell him how fast he would've had to react... too slow!-- Wham. The blow very nearly sent him airborne as he flew backward in what felt like slow motion. He might have been concerned that his jaw could have broken if it weren't for a slightly more pressing matter... His every cell felt like it was on fire. Before he could yell in surprise, a ripping, popping noise banged against his ears, and it felt like his skin had literally exploded from the fire that raged through him. It was excruciating for a mere moment- then it was exhilarating, though his fury lingered. Every last inch of him was teeming with energy as he landed on the (thankfully) soft beach sand, though something felt horribly wrong... he landed awkwardly on what felt a whole lot like a tail. Jumping up quickly, he paused in alarm- for, though he'd jumped up to what felt like the most natural pose to jump up to, he'd landed on all fours. He meant to figuratively bark back at Jacob- maybe even throw a few punches back... but then he literally barked back. His eyes widened at the sound.

"Shut up and listen Jon! What you just experienced.. and when through was your first phase. " Jacob said calmly but he still had a don't mess with me look on his face. "When I first met you I knew it was only a matter of time especially Of your related to Quil... Anyway long story short you a shape shifter and like the rest of us in La Push you take the form of a wolf." Jacob explained, he had done this so may times before he found it easier to to get right to the point, then explain it all at a later dated.
Jacob did not want Jonathan Just to take off running into the street of La Push, sure large wolf sighting were common, they had been for over thirty years on but no one really seen one running around it the street, it was alway in the woods or by the edges of it. He looked the gray wolf in the eyes "If you feel like taking of and running head or the trees, that would be the safest thing of you . I have some extra clothes stored in a few trees around the forest so if you need grab a pair of shorts. But you will have to calm down and unphase before that." Jacob was not sure yet if he should strip down and phase right there so he thoughts would make more since to Jonathan and so that he could understand what was going through his mind.

Jon's automatic response to Jacob yelling at him to shut up was to bare his teeth and growl, but then he seemed to know all about whatever it was that just happened to him... so he settled for a silent baring of his teeth. And Jacob seemed to know that this would happen to him, of all things! The energy beaming from his every cell was telling him to go so many ways- jump at Jacob, run laps around La Push... the list was endless. It was like his body was celebrating this explosion with an influx of hyperness. At least it's a wolf... he thought after a pause, a little bewildered at how easily he was accepting this. Could've been a bunny or something.
Oh, great. Isn't that just so nice of him? he sarcastically grunted in his head. That's so thoughtful that he's giving me a choice. I might just have to give him a hug. But what did he want to do? Well, getting his old body back was pretty high up on the priority list...
So it was with great reluctance that he lowered his lips back over his teeth, stopping just enough so that Jacob could see he was obviously still put out. He probably looked ridiculous, he thought as he sat on the beach to say "fine, unphase it is".

Jacob watched as Jonathan sat down on the because he looked like he was waiting for Jacob to explain. "First to unphase you must calm yourself, No more being Jon the asshole and barring your teeth. As soon as you clam down it it easier to unphase. Jacob looked at Jonathan to see if he was listening.
"When your all calm Go in the woods over there in a big there my shorts, put them on if you can unphase and will talk. Just remember Take deep breaths and calm yourself. Its the only way to unphase"

Jon couldn't deny the snarl that broke free after Jacob's reply. Maybe I'll bite you instead, he considered venomously. Nah, if you're dead, I'm screwed. Not today...
His temper still urging him to take a snap at Jacob, he took a deep sigh. This was going to tough. But there was no use trying to 'calm' more standing here... and it was sounding ominous that he'd need Jacob's shorts. For the first time, he glanced around him. Lying in tattered shreds strewn wildly around here he now stood were the remains of his shirt and his joggers. Crap. Whatever had happened- and apparently was going to keep happening in the future- had him screwed.
So, more or less calmed, he trotted surprisingly naturally over to the woods, realizing the strange, dry smell he found there as cotton. The scent led him to a big (enough) pair of shorts, so there was only one step left. But... he wasn't quite done with Mr. Black, and, after a long-enough pause, he let out a bark that he hoped sounded like he couldn't get himself to 'unphase'. Assuring himself that Jacob would come over, he took several deep breaths, feeling his pulse slow ever so gently. Oh, he wasn't done with Jacob- not in the least- but to know that he could get a chance at the last word was a hopeful thought, not an angry one.
Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exha--
It was over. Relief washed over him as he realized it was done. But there he sat, butt naked, on the wooded part of the beach- and his face raged scarlet as he grabbed wildly at the shorts, throwing him on in record time. Now, if Jacob was just nearby... he forced the revenge he yearned for to not send his hands trembling again.

When Jacob heard the bark come from Jonathan he walked over closer to the woods. to see what was up. He was not sure what he need but he was not going to get too close so Johnathan had some privacy. Jacob haded when he first phase and all the guys saw his ...bits so he was not doing to to that to the new pack member.
He looked a short distance away he could just see a bit of the gray wolf's ear and he gave him a bit of space. He listen to the deep breathing and noticed it got quieter and quieter and then it returned to a human normal breathing habits.
He waited a few moments until to speak. "Are you descent yet,?" He asked he was not to sure what else to say to the kid till he decided to show himself again,

A pleased grimace snuck across Jon's face as he heard Jacob near him and call out. It was taking a heck of a lot of effort to keep from trembling, but he was more or less managing it. He took a silent, deep breath- then lunged from the foliage at Jacob, tackling them both to the ground with Jon on top of Jacob's shockingly large body. He pushed himself up at lightning speed so that he was basically kneeling with his knee jabbed into Jake's gut.
Raising a trembling fist threateningly, he sent it flying for Jacob's face. "That's for the punch earlier!" he roared, preparing a follow-up left hook and letting it fly, adding on in reply, "I'm JUST PEACHY!"
