Devonny had been driving all night. Not that it had made any difference, she couldn't get tired. Being a vampire definitely had its perks. She never got tired, and she was able to get so much more stuff done than when she was a human. She never hated what she was. It never really bothered her that much. Only a few things about it did.
The fact that she was never able to see her family or friends again was one of them. She should have shown herself all those years ago when they were in Volterra. She knew they were there. She saw Bella with her own two eyes. But she hadn't stepped forward. Like she should have. She stood there frozen in her spot, mesmerized by how much she looked like Renee. And then how much she missed Bella and Renee. The pain of loss was all she was thinking about.
She knew the Volturi went to Forks about her not long after. But she couldn't bear to go. She didn't know anything of Bella's transformation until a year or so before the Volturi disbanded. She'd left, and had meant to go find Bella, but she'd gotten distracted. Her kind were easily distracted. But now her mind was one track.
She pulled in the driveway and counted the trees as she neared the house. It's size did not shock her. Once she was close, she killed the engine and stepped out of the vehicle. Her sapphire blue Camero never failed her. Devonny took the first fateful steps up the porch, hearing everything going on inside the house. Tuning it out, she knocked gently on the door. She didn't want to break it, after all.

Hearing the knock on the door and getting a good whiff of what was behind the door. It was a vampire of course one that Jacob did not recognize. "Guys I am going to answer the door but you have to let me if you know who the vamp behind it is. I have no clue from the scent." Jacob walked up to the door quickly and opened it. "Hey what do you want?" He asked looking at the female vampire. "We did not expect any guest"

Devonny heard the voice on the other side of the door. It was a rough male voice, nothing smooth like a vampires. Was it human? She didn't think so. The door swung open and there stood an extremely tall boy. The scent hit Devonny light a freight train. The stench was almost too much to bear, but she needed to see Bella. "I wish to see Bella," she replied, answering his question. "I am aware I was not expected. Bella most likely doesn't know I even exist anymore."

Rose was in her room when she smelled the other vampire at the door and heard Jacob say that he was getting the door. Rose knew that Jake could control himself, but she went downstairs any way. As she reached the bottom of the stairs she saw the vampire at the door and heard her answer Jake. Before Jake could answer Rose was at his side and answered the other vampire. "Bella is not here, however, if you care to tell us why you want to see her, we may be able to find her. How do you know Bella anyway?" Rose stared at the vampire in the door and was not going to let her into their home without some answers. Rose knew that Edward was at the cottage and could hear their thoughts for there so her called out to him. Edward there is a strange female vampire at the door looking for Bella. If she is there with you, the two of you may want to come to the mansion. Rose stood at the door waiting on a reply for the other vampire.

Edward was at the cottage, reading by the fire, when he heard Rose's thoughts at the mansion. Edward was not sure were Bella was, but he was not taking any chances with her. He put his book down and left the cottage for the house. He was looking for Bella as he went. Edward was not in a hurry to get to the house, he knew that between Rose and Jake the other vampire did not stand a chance to survive if they didn't like her answers. Edward was not getting a clear read on her thoughts either. When Edward entered the house he went to stand beside Rose and Jake.

Bella had been out driving for a little while, just to clear her mind. Things had begun happening so quickly after they returned from London. Her daughter was engaged, she had taken in her two cousins, and then there was the whole Crystal situation that had everyone on edge. She had to get out and just let everything loose. She had taken her car, her deep red Ferrari, out for a drive to California and back. To see the sun had done her some good, even though her windows were heavily tinted.
When she got back, she parked her car in the garage next to Rosalie's Convertible and got out, immediately catching the scent of a new vampire.
Oh hell, she thought. Not another one. Dammit!
She came in the side door from the garage into the mansion and noticed Rosalie, Jacob, and Edward standing at the doorway with a new female vampire.
Edward, what the hell is going on? And who is she? she thought, lowering her shield as she slid her hand into his.

Devonny looked at the blond vampire who'd come to the door with the... what was this boy anyway? "I can assure you that my intentions are good," she promised, knowing they did not trust her at all. Dev was used to not being trusted. It came with the territory of not only being a vampire, but being an ex member of the Volturi. "And before I reveal to you who I am, I think Bella should hear it. It would be better for her." She smiled, innocently. She wanted to gain their trust the right way, not by using her talent. "As for how I know Bella, I am an old friend." Dev was not a mean woman. She didn't care what she was, and she didn't hunt the way traditional vampires hunted. She was honest, and she just wanted to talk to her goddaughter.

Rose heard her brother come into the house but Bella was not with him. She saw he come to her side and knew that he was reading everyone's thought's. He would know who this woman was. She heard that other woman, say that she was an old friends and laughted. "Bella doesn't have any old friends besides this family." Rose said to the woman and then thought the Edward. "Edward, who is she. Is she friendly?"[/b] Rose saw Bella enter from the back of the house and was even more concerned now that Bella was here.

Edward was reading Devonny's thoughts and knew who she was. He knew that she was Bella's godmother, but he also knew that she was Volturi. He didn't like that at all. Edward knew that the Volturi were no more but there was still a lot of resentment towards them. Edward finally spoke up, to answer everyone's thought. "Hello Devonny, we have never officially met. I am Edward Cullen, Bella's husband." Edward said as he held out his hand. After he shook her hand he turned to Rose and Jake. "She was Bella's godmother, when Bella's was born. She has come to see Bella again now that Bella is one of us."
Edward smiled as Bella walked into the room at just about that time. When he heard her thoughts he smiled. She was more protective now that she was as a human. He knew that Bella was a fighter and would always be at his side. As she took his hand he turned to speak to her. "Bella, love, this is Devonny Dawson. I am not sure if that name will mean anything to you, but it should. She knows you." He said to her wanted to make sure that Bella remembered before he totally let his guard dowm.

Bella looked at the woman standing in their doorway. It was not someone she had ever seen before in her life, human or immortal. She thought way back into her human life to see if there was some shred of a memory of the woman named Devonny Dawson, but she came up empty-handed. Looking from Devonny to Rose and finally back to Edward, she lowered her shield again.
I have no idea who this woman is Edward. I've never seen her before. Who is she to me?
She didn't want to trust someone she didn't even know, but she knew that Edward would have way more insight than she did. For the moment, she waited for Edward to reply to her thoughts, squeezing his hand slightly.

Edward just smiled at Bella. Edward already knew who Devonny was but he would let her tell Bella. "Bella, it is fine if you don't remember her. She does know you though and she knew your father. I think that she would like to tell you the rest. Trust in me that I will be close by no matter." He said to her as he gently squeezed her hand and gave her that crooked smile.

"So you saying she is Bella's godmother, this family get more and more confusing to me everyday and I am not even part of it yet. First Crystal then now Devonny, your lucking I don't take Ness away for all of you and keep her away from all this drama. It is only going to get more dramatic when Ness and I get married. I can see it now oh that shape shifter who got married t the half vamp, I can see more crazies coming out of the wood works."
Jacob scratched his head and head back to the living room placing himself down on the couch try to show Devonny's arrival did nit bug him at all but in reality it did her eyes were red and he noticed that she was a human feeder there is no way he let her drink of someone when she was visiting the Cullen no way at all he did not care if she was Bella's godmother or not.

Devonny smiled at the blond. "I'm aware of this. You must be Rosalie, am I correct?" she asked. The blond's beauty was exquisite, but her attitude needed an adjustment. Aro had told Devonny all about the Cullens. Before Bella joined them, that is. Dev knew that the Cullens were extremely uncomfortable about her being there, and that was because of her eye color. There wasn't much she could do, they'd take ages to fade and Devonny had no intentions of harming anyone within the borders of Forks, knowing that it was not her territory. She'd go far beyond the borders to hunt, and she had rules of how she went about things.
Her patience was wearing thin though, as she could tell the blond had no intention of letting her in. "Please, may I speak to her? If she doesn't wish to talk after I explain myself, I will leave, but you must give me that chance."

Bella heard Devonny's plea to Rosalie and let go of Edward's hand, stepping forward towards the door. She gave a look of reassurance to Rose, letting her know that it was okay to back down for the time being. Once she was close enough, she realized that Devonny's eyes were crimson red, meaning she was not vegetarian like the rest of the Cullen family and herself were. Immediately, Bella was distrustful.
"I'm Bella," she said as politely as she could manage. "You wished to speak with me?"

Devonny could sense the tension in the air, and in Bella's voice. As soon as her eyes fell on Bella when she first arrived, she knew she had the right person. No other could possibly be as beautiful as she. If vampires could cry, Devonny would have. Her non-beating heart filled with warmth for the girl, knowing at last they were reunited. But Devonny kept her composure. "Yes," she replied. "Bella, do you mind if we speak in private? There is much we need to discuss."
Devonny knew that Bella didn't trust her. And why should she? She simply showed up seemingly out of nowhere, sporting blood red eyes. In all honesty, Bella should have no reason to trust her. The Volturi had threatened her more than once. Of course they did not exist anymore, but Devonny had been a part of them through and through.
