'This is going to be a beautiful night out here' He couldn't help but grin as he kept thinking that he wouldn't tell Lucy where they were headed. It would be a surprise...that is until they got closer to the destination...until she figured it out for herself.
Twenty minutes later he pulled into the parking area at First Beach, and put his truck in park. "Surprise." he said, as if she had absolutely no idea where they were. He laughed and jumped out and ran around to open the door for her.

Lucy smiled and squeezed Kaleb’s hand when she saw him grinning. ‘I love it when he does that.’ Lucy thought to herself with a smile. They were headed away from the party and Lucy still did not know where they were going. She knew it would probably be a few moments before she would know where Kaleb was taking her. Forks was not a large town and there were limited amounts of places that he could be taking her. Lucy’s guess was right as a few moments later she realized that Kaleb was driving out to La Push. After several minutes Kaleb pulled up to the beach in La Push an Lucy grinned when he said, “Surprise.”
Kaleb got out of his truck and came over to open the door for her. Lucy hoped out of the truck and slipped an arm around Kaleb’s waist. She looked up at him grinning, "Gotta say good choice Cowboy."

As Lucy got out of the truck, she slid her arm around Kaleb's waist and made a comment about the place he had picked for them to sneak in a little alone time. He wrapped an arm around Lucy's shoulders and gave her a tight squeeze in a side hug. "I do what I can, Luce." he teased. He led them towards the back of his truck and let down the tailgate. He thought about going for a walk by the water's edge, but then he remembered that last time they had both wound up in the water. He plopped down, and motioned for her to sit next to him, "Well, now that we're here, what to talk about? Why don't you tell me...ummmm...something that I don't know about you?"
He was more than glad to be alone with Lucy, and he wanted to take advantage of it to get to know his girlfriend more, and for her to get the chance to get to know him. He always watched his parents, and was amazed that they had been together for so long; he always saw them just sitting and talking...and he often wondered how they could still have things to talk about? How could they still have interesting conversations when they already knew everything there was to know about their spouse? Kaleb hoped that he and his future wife would someday be able to share their thoughts and dreams. But as for now, he would love nothing more but to hear and learn about his girlfriend, Lucy.

Lucy walked with Kaleb and she wondered if he was wanting to walk down in the sand. She remembered the last time that they had been here, Kaleb had pulled her into the water. Lucy smiled as she remembered that afternoon and what had resulted after. She had an amazing time with Kaleb and she was still in the clouds about everything that had, happened since. Kaleb wrapped an arm around Lucy and gave her a side hug saying, “I do what I can, Luce.” Kaleb let down the tailgate of his truck and sat down. "Well, now that we're here, what to talk about? Why don't you tell me...ummmm...something that I don't know about you?" Lucy grinned and hoped up and sat down next to Kaleb with a smile on her face. She laid back and put her hands behind her head and looked up at the stars, “Well let’s see.”
Lucy thought for a few moments and thought of something but she wasn’t going to tell him just yet. “Oh I thought of something, and I promise that I’m not telling this to scare you.” Lucy looked over at Kaleb grinning, “I got a guy arrested for a few days by tricking him to go to a house butt naked.” Lucy turned her head back to look at the stars with a slightly reflective grin on her face. “I will say that he had it completely coming thought.”

Kaleb's eyebrows instantly and incredulously knit together. "Mental note to self...Never, ever get on Lucy's bad side." He was quite puzzled at what she had just said. That was definitely not the kind of response that he was looking for and he tried to laugh it off but became more and more confused at why she would bring this up. He was thinking more of a "well I grew up here, and my favorite thing to do was this, or I have a crazy love for that, or once when we were kids me and the girls did this and got into more trouble than we knew how to handle." So, needless to say he immediately wanted to know why and how this would happen. 'Well, this is Lucy, were talking about' He thought to himself.
"Haha, Luce...that was SO beyond random! So, what exactly does the rest of this story entail!?"

Lucy grinned when Kaleb made a mental note allowed to never make. “It was completely justified, mind you and what he did, I know you’d never do so you don’t have to worry.” She Glanced over to see Kaleb seemingly try to process what she had told him. Lucy sighed when Kaleb asked the reason why and she forewarned, “Settle in for a story Cowboy.” Lucy looked back to the stars before continuing, “Basically what had gone on was that Kenzie’s ex-boyfriend was a Class A jackass. He put on a show for her attention in the beginning, but once he had her wrapped around his finger it didn’t matter how he acted. Jerron would put her down all the time, he talked crap about me and Kate even if we were standing right there, I don’t know if he ever hit Kenzie, but like I said Jerron never had a problem with tearing her down.” Lucy could feel herself getting agitated just from talking about Jerron.
She turned and looked at Kaleb, “Oh and I just thought of another good reason I’m sure you’d love. He tried to slap me once.” Lucy turned her head back to watch the stars adding, “So personally the jerk had everything coming.” She thought about what she had just spent the last few moments talking about and felt bad, “Hey sorry for being such a downer, I promise I didn’t mean to. So what about you Cowboy? Do I not know something interesting about you?”

Kaleb's eyebrows knit together as he listened to her story. It was upsetting him but there was nothing he could do about it now, plus, Kenzie had apparently moved on, and was doing splendidly with this Jon person that he kept hearing about. However, because of his his biased towards Lucy, what was upsetting him the most was the fact that Lucy had mentioned Jerron trying to hit her, and talking bad about her and Katelyn even in front of them.
Lucy paused for a moment and Kaleb said, "Well, I think he's got more than that coming his way...maybe not from me, as I'd like, but eventually he'll get what he deserves. But you can bet that if I ever DO get the opportunity to meet him, and if he tries to start something...he won't be finishing it. I will, of course, let Jon have first dibs...but I'm next in line." Just as he finished his thought out loud, Lucy said “Hey sorry for being such a downer, I promise I didn’t mean to. So what about you Cowboy? Do I not know something interesting about you?”
Instantly Kaleb's face softened, and he grinned his crooked cowboy grin and told her, "You're not a downer, especially to me. You're just the opposite...yeah, I get so excited every time I see you and get to spend time with you that things like that won't bring me down for long. Especially now that you're here with me, Kenzie is rid of Jerron, and you're ok. But...Hmmmmm, what don't you know about me?" He paused for a while, in thought. He was having a hard time trying to focus on something that she didn't already know about him, and didn't know what to tell her. He was at a loss for his own question, he should have known that if he asked her what he didn't know about herself, then she would most likely turn the tables, with the same question.
"Ok, your turn to settle in for a story. Well, as I think I've mentioned before I had a friend named Brayden, and boy did we have some adventures. We caused all kinds of trouble, mostly his ideas, of course, but it was always interesting to see what scheme he would come up with next. I remember this one time in particular, he was so excited to show me his brand new 4 wheelers. They got two of them to help them work on their farm, and so I get there and he's showin' me the trails he's already made up on the hill. Well, on the way up, he forgets to mention that they had just dug a huge ditch just over the top of the backside of the hill, I don't remember why, but as we raced over the hill, I turned to cut across the field that used to be there and instead, took off full throttle right down into this huge ditch. Let's just say if I hadn't been wearing a helmet, I probably wouldn't be alive."

Lucy was enjoying her time with Kaleb and that thought ran continually through her head as she laid next to him in the back of his truck. She looked over at Kaleb who seemed to be in a less then pleasant mood over what she had just told him. While Lucy had taken a moment to pause in her story Kaleb spoke. Lucy knew that her smile was growing the more that Kaleb spoke, and she felt herself laughing. Her laughter slipped into a grin as she thought of what would happen if Kaleb and Jerron ever met. Lucy had no doubt in her mind that Kaleb would win that fight in a second. Another short laugh escaped when she thought of Kaleb and Jon fighting Jerron. She knew that she never had to worry about her safety while she was with Kaleb. Kaleb would take care of Lucy, and she knew that. Lucy looked over at Kaleb after she had asked to hear something unique about him.
She could feel herself melting at the grin that split his face and she could feel her own excitement rise the longer Kaleb spoke. Lucy sat up as he sounded like he was finishing and a few moments later he seemed to think about the answer that he was going to give her. She put a hand on Kaleb’s chin and gently tilted it towards her own grinning face. Lucy gave Kaleb a quick kiss and sat back a little saying, “Thank you for being you.” She then picked Kaleb’s arm up and put it over her shoulders as she leaned into his side. Lucy smiled as she listened to Kaleb’s story and a small chuckle escaped as she could see where it was going. She still felt herself flinch when Kaleb said that he crashed the 4 wheeler that he had been driving. Lucy buried her face into Kaleb’s side and turned her face away so that she could tell him, “Well I am really glad for whatever made you put a helmet on Kaleb.”
Lucy could feel herself hesitate for a moment wondering if she should say the other thought in her mind. She took a mental breath to catch her bravery and added, “Because you’ve made a really special place in my heart.” Lucy knew that it wasn’t exactly saying that she loved him, but she really did care about him and she loved having him around.

Right in the big fat middle of Kaleb's thought process, Lucy reached out and guided his chin closer to her as he felt a daze coming over him because she kissed him, it shocked him at how casual it was, however, It was so very sweet. He shook his head, smiled and then finished telling his story, and afterward, Lucy said "Well I am really glad for whatever made you put a helmet on Kaleb….Because you've really made a special place in my heart." It took him a few moments for Lucy's words to actually sink in before he realized that he had been feeling the same way. Kaleb throat caught, for lack of words to say so for the time being he remained silent. A few seconds (that felt like hours) later he took a deep breath and smirked. "You know Luce, I feel the same way about you too…" It was then that he decided to go for it…"Now, let's try this again…"
He reached up and played with some of the hair that had fallen around her face before gently placing his hand behind her neck to pull her in for a proper first kiss. Kaleb was ecstatic, to say the least. He remembered trying to sneak a kiss in the last time they were at the beach, however, they wound up rolling around in the surf for a while instead. This would definitely be a night to remember.
After a few glorious moments, he pulled back and said in a deep voice "So…I really like our trips to the beach." His big blue eyes stared into her deep brown eyes and he knew that she would get a kick out of his random statement, and hoped that she wouldn't mind a third "try."

Lucy grinned to herself as she realized that it probably had distracted Kaleb slightly when she kissed him part way through his story. Kaleb shook his head a little and went back to telling his story with a smile, which in turn made Lucy smile to see him happy. Lucy began kicking herself mentally at her last comment towards Kaleb. She did not have the guts to look at his face to watch for his reaction and as the seconds dragged on Lucy could feel herself regretting the decision to say those words to him. Lucy could have flown to the moon when she heard Kaleb say that he felt the same way. She sat up with a little more bravery and looked up at him with a small but bright smile. Kaleb’s hand came to the side of her face and played with some of her hair before putting his hand behind her neck. Lucy felt her breath hitch and she mentally said, ‘This thing called breathing is a good idea.’
She was able to catch her breath a second before Kaleb’s lips reached her own. One of Lucy’s hands went instinctively to the side of Kaleb’s face and Lucy could feel the joy inside of her forming a smile as they kissed. To Lucy’s own disappointment Kaleb pulled back and Lucy felt her eyes flutter open instinctively, ‘Remember before breathing is a good idea.’ A few seconds later Kaleb added in a deep voice, “So…I really like our trips to the beach.” Lucy smiled as they seemed to be content watching each other for a few moments, “I have to say though this trip is infinitely better then the others.” Lucy smiled up at Kaleb and then shifted to her knees slightly so that she could return to kissing her boyfriend.
