Jordan had been having a few busy nights at the bar even If she thought her tips were pretty lousy. The rest of the world claimed it was the economy but Jordan on the other hand thought that was a load of bullshit. Things had seemed to slow down in Forks as far as the threats went but she knew something was still out there. It had been a while since she had phased and she feared that she had almost forgotten how. All the rest of the pack had been so busy with other things that she rarely saw them as well. When Jordan pulled into her driveway and parked her car she threw her keys on the steps and ran behind some bushes to change out of her clothes to phase. She had been so antsy about phasing she did not even bother to check if anyone was watching or not. Jordan felt the wind blow her fur and she shock her whole body knowing she missed having all her heightened senses. She breathed in the air and recognized a mixture of smells, one of them stood out more than the others because the smell was so repulsive to her. Vampire she thought as she darted into the forest away for the stench. She was in no mood to socialize with the other creatures of forks, all she was concerned about was reintroducing herself to her wolf form.
Jordan leaped across a cliff and landed on all fours as she continued to race through the trees. She weaved in and out of them; her paws barely touching the ground as she stretched her legs even further to cover more distance. She let out a loud and powerful howl as she ran further and further into the woods. She felt free and in control, all the stress of life seemed to melt away. Things felt in order, all in place. She thought about how much she missed the pack and Wesley but continued to run. She was not sure when she would stop or how long she would be running for. In a way she was wanted to search her surrounding to make sure everything else was at peace.

Ashlan felt the hunger grow inside him. He could barely contain himself as she waited in the branches of a trees. This place had been known for its drunks and lately he had been keeping a close eye on a guy by the name of Rob Fenton. It made him feel a little less like a monster being able to narrow down the prefect candidate for food. It made things even better that Rob was not a big fan of his life and wished every now and then that he would drink himself to death, which of course was what he was doing. After a few hours pasts Rob finally showed up in the clearing and Ashlan narrowed his eyes thinking of a way how to go about it. the smell was so strong he thought he might attack too early and miss his chance. As Rob sat down, his hands clung to his bottle, and his lips singing an old irish drinking song. Despite how intoxicated he was Ashlan thought he actually was very coherent. Ashlan made sure that he was quick and he had just finished up with his meal when a deep stinch reached his nose and he heard a low growl.
"You again?" He said turning around to see the enormous wolf gazing at him five feet away. " You may not be in you're human form but you each have a unique and unbearable smell." he said wrinkling his nose and trying to keep from running in the other direction. Jordan just stood there growling, her eyes looking from the body back at Ashlan. " I can only guess what you're saying sweetheart, but from the looks of things you don't seem to respect how i get my meals. We are both adults here, so there is no need to stay as a mutt and shun me for what i am. you would not have much of a choice either if you were in my shoes. I'm not like the Cullens i don't have a lot of self control. I was con artist in the twenties for crying out loud." he said with a laugh. Jordan just snarled at him. "Go home if you don't want to play nicely then." Ashlan snapped turning around and beginning to walk to other direction.

Jordan was not going to play nicely. Fine if he wants to talk I am willing to talk! she thought as she jumped back behind a tree and phased. She had a little trouble putting her clothes back on seeing it had been a while since she had phased but she managed to do things well. " Hey! Stop." Jordan said. She shock her head knowing she most likely did not sound convincing. She never really had a strong voice to begin with and was often mistaken for a mute a times. It was harder knowing she was talking to a vampire that had just feed. "Where do you think you are going? i mean have you not heard what kind of things have been going on in the woods?" Jordan said as she growled through her teeth. "Forks has a real werewolf on our hands and all you can do is go around and add to the death toll. I'm not even sure why I'm letting you live i mean for all i know you and your sister could be eying anyone else in this town." she snapped.
Jordan stood there in the dirt and waited for an answer. From the experiences she had, had with him he did not seem like the kind of vampire to just walk away from a situation. And that was when it hit her, the last time she was in the bar with him he had tired hard to figure out what was going on. After all he had threaten that young man who seemed something other than any vampire or shifter she had ever encounter. The sight of a dead body and seeing Ashlan over it set something off in her and immediately she apologized. "I'm sorry, i forgot that you had...well i forgot about that day in the bar. Sometimes i think I'm more wolf than women." she said looking down at the ground.

"Figures" he sneered to softly before he finally turned around. "Do you forget a lot of moments when a vampire actually has a heart despite popular belief or does your kind like to jump at the opportunity to kill us?" he said narrowing his eyes on her. "Does your pack master...or whatever the hell he is called know that your out sticking that pathetic nose of yours into other people's business? Listen i did not choose this life for me, and if i am guessing right you did not chose to have the ability to turn into an even lower brained creature." he snapped. " Now maybe it would best of you to go and find someone else to bug. You should have picked up on that killers scent when he was in your bar. I'm pretty sure he and whoever he is working for is what you want. Dont expect me to help your kind again though." he said baring his teeth.
With that Ashlan turned and ran the other direction. If Candice would have been with him she would have told him to turn his ass around and apologize but lately the two inseparable siblings seemed to be distancing themselves and in this moment he consider it a blessing. Ashlan had no desire to continue his conversation with the her. He was done for the night and hoped Jordan would be smart enough to realize it. Leaping into one of the tree branches new by he adjusted himself to watch the night pass before him. Sleeping was not something he could do anymore, so he took the time to enjoy the sunrises and maybe even a chance to feed on some animals although his attempts for being like the Cullens had always failed.

Jordan watched hopelessly as Ashlan walked off into the woods. She was deeply sorry for that she had said and assumed. She was torn between following him or just turning and walking the other way. The threat of the children of the moon had died down, but she still felt uneasy about the silent. There had got to be somewhere, hiding, hoping to be forgotten and strike when the Cullen's and the pack least expected it. Jumping behind a tree she changed out of her clothes leaving a tanktop that she went through like napkins anyway and a pair of cheap shorts. It was better to phase from cheap shorts than trying to phase from 40 dollar jeans. Taking her shoes off she threw them behind a rock and looked up to see if she could still catch the scent of Ashlan. She was going to take her chances with the vampire and try to make it up to him. Taking off through the forest barefoot she followed the scent.
Ashlan probably figured she would chase after him, because the scent did not seem to be staying put. Knowing she would be able to hunt Ashlan down faster she jumped up in the air and phased. Jordan landed on the ground with her paws and darting off into the forest in search of the only vampire she had ever know that actually was not a monster. It might have taken her a while to change her mind about her so called rogue friend because he was not like the Cullens but the truth of the matter was he was just trying to get by in the world. Even if it was not the prettiest site in the world. Ashlan risked a lot when he came face to face in the bar with one of the children of the moon, and at moment Jordan understood the risk.
