Elizabeth watched as the full moon lit up the night’s sky. She had been secretly watching a nearby hiker whom would become her first victim in Fork’s Washington. Standing in the shadows she braced herself for the transformation she had been experiencing for a long time. He body twitched, and stretched as her new form came into clear focus. The pain was less intense than the first time she had transformed. She knew longer viewed her transformations as painful, but exhilarating. When the change was complete she went darting through the woods and towards the unsuspecting hiker. The Hiker froze hearing the approaching animal, scared and clueless he violently flashed his light at random trees and bushes trying to locate what direction the growls were coming from. Elizabeth mad sure that each of her victims was tortured before she made the final attack. She circled him in the distance, barking and sneering every so often to spook him. Just when he started running she would be sure to run ahead of him and make louder noises in front. Terror filled the poor Hiker’s eyes and his whole body began to shake. I would not want my food to get too cold Elizabeth thought to herself as she felt the cold crisp air blow through her fur. She sprang out from behind a tree on to the hiker. Elizabeth stared deeply into the hikers eyes, droll dripped down from her blood thirsty mouth as she gave a twisted and heartless smile. The Hiker saw that this animal was nothing like he had seen before, the size and human like qualities to this animal seem unreal, but before he could think of anything else Elizabeth bit through his neck and began to toss him around like a rag doll. The hiker was dead within minutes.
Elizabeth dragged the body behind a bush and tried hard to cover her tracks. She had always been very good at making sure she escaped the scene of the crime just before anyone really showed up. She wanted to kill some more, the hatred that she felt for humans was immeasurable. But she knew it would not be wise to make any more attacks that night. The only point of tonight was to make her presence known. She was aware she would be dealing with Vampires and maybe a few wolves, and she had spent many years preparing her attack on such creatures, to continue her rebel against humanity. She darted off into the night, laughing to herself. Ready to strike again when she felt she had stricken enough fear into the hearts of her new victims.

Jordan had heard some strange noises in the distance, curious, and unwilling to really tell anyone about it she kept walking down the moonlit path with one flashlight in her right hand. “If it’s dangerous or anything I can just phase and run back to Leah’s “Jordan said out loud trying to keep her cool. She was a little nervous, but this was indeed the adventure Jordan was hoping for. Maybe it’s just one of the Cullen’s she though. The thought ran through her mind of how a meeting with a vampire might go. She wondered if maybe they might be able to tell she was even a wolf. It was getting colder, but Jordan was fine because her abnormally warm nature. She shined her light up into the trees and spotted some reflecting eyes of an owl peering down at her. “Hello Mr. Owl” she laughed joking.
She was at least 25 minute into the woods by now, the air felt thick and eerie. Jordan could smell something in the air and she felt something was really out of place. She was not really paying attention and her foot got caught in a tree root and she fell face first into the leaves. Jordan’s flashlight rolled into some near by bushes. “ Shit” she said picking herself up and rushing to her flashlight. She noticed the flashlight was hitting some sort of fabric, there was a lump not too far off from her flashlight’s view. Picking up she flash light she pointed it towards the shadows. Jordan’s body shook, and her stomach turned. At just one sight of the faceless hiker she lost it, and began to throw up. She freaked out after she was at least able to stop getting sick, and phased, not knowing what else to do. Something is not right in the woods, there is a dead body. Jordan was beginning to go into hysterics. She hoped that someone would get her message and be out her. She felt stupid and ashamed for thinking she could handle things on her own. Whatever it was that did this is long gone by now.

Nathaniel had mostly restricted himself to the forest after the birthday party for the town of Forks. The party had marked a time of hushed calm for the otherwise ignorant town. Nate had been glad to see that the Cullen family going back to the way that things had been before all of their troubles. That was another reason that he was currently patrolling the woods in the mansion’s general area because he wanted to be there if the family needed him. Nathaniel thought back to when he first arrived in Forks and reflected on what had kept him from leaving. He knew it was because the Cullen family had needed him in some sense and he wondered how long it would be before he felt the need to move away. Nathaniel was brought from his reminiscing by a gentle push again his shoulder. “Earth to Mr. English.”
He looked over with a faint smile at Ryssa who had decided to roam the forest with him. That was something that had also become a result of moving to Forks, increased friendships with fellow vampires. He knew that Ryssa considered him a friend and Nathaniel also knew how rarely she choose people to be friends with. He appreciated that friendship, and Ryssa’s own honesty when it came to most situations. “I am fine I promise.” Nate could not help but grin slightly as Ryssa rolled her eyes adding, “Whatever you say Mr. English.” Nathaniel continued to walk through the woods almost absently mindedly with Ryssa when he came to a sudden stop. He noticed that Ryssa made it half a step, before she too was stopped by the same unfamiliar scent. Nathaniel nodded at Ryssa and they took off in opposite directions to circle around the faint smell that put them on edge.
Nate finally circled close enough to the clearing and the noise and saw that a wolf filled the clearing. He recognized the scent as a wolf from La Push, but at the same time it was an unfamiliar scent. Nathaniel carefully walked into the clearing and slightly held his hands out to the side to show he meant no harm. The wolf in front of him was most likely a new wolf and probably had no idea who he was. Nate also knew from past experience that the wolf would be able to understand him. Nate cleared his throat slightly as he pulled off his light coat and held it in his hand. “I would like you to know that I mean you no trouble but I could not help but no--” Nathaniel was cut off as Ryssa jumped down next to him and pointed at the body laying on the forest floor.
“Nathaniel something is wrong.” Nathaniel looked to the body not far from the wolf and he realized that an unrecognizable scent was floating from the body. He answered Ryssa’s unasked question, “It wasn’t this wolf that attacked. This wolf is from La Push they are meant to protect people not harm them.” Nathaniel tossed his jacket towards the wolf across the clearing, “I find that it would be easier to speak with you if you changed back to your human form. We are friends of the Cullen family and of your leader Jacob. I promise that we will not harm you.”

Ryssa was enjoying her return to Forks. She had been back for a few days after her trip to California. Her trip to California had been an emotional one, as it was to see her parent’s grave site. Now that she was back in Forks part of her was hopping that there would be a new evil to fight to take her mind off of things. Unfortunately Ryssa found Forks back to a peaceful state, with only the idea of teasing Nathaniel to keep her busy. She was in fact walking with Nathaniel at the moment through the forest looking for food, and keeping an eye out for trouble. They had been walking around in the night because the moon offered far less of a glow then the sun did. It was still autumn in Forks, and there was the occasional bright day. Ryssa shook herself from her own thoughts and looked over at Nathaniel and bumped into his shoulder, “Earth to Mr. English.”
Nathaniel had seemed just as caught up in his thoughts as she had just been. He then quickly promised that he was fine, and as a reflex Ryssa rolled her eyes, “Whatever you say Mr. English.” Ryssa grinned and looked forward continuing to walk. A few seconds later Nathaniel came to a sudden stop and a step later Ryssa could smell why. There was a mix of La Push wolves, an unfamiliar scent, and human blood. She looked over at Nathaniel who nodded for her to circle around the opposite way that he was. Ryssa nodded and stopped her reflexive breathing and quietly made her way in a wide circle towards the clearing that was not far away. She could hear that Nathaniel had entered the clearing first and she pulled herself into a tree on the reverse side. Ryssa settled herself in and looked down at the clearing to see a wolf that smelled as if it were from La Push.
She heard Nathaniel speaking with the wolf as she looked for the source of the human blood. Ryssa’s eyes found the mutilated body not far from where the wolf was standing. She quickly stood on the branch and jumped out of the tree landing right next to Nathaniel. “Nathaniel something is wrong.” Ryssa said pointing at the body. They stood there in silence and Ryssa began to wonder if the wolf before them had gotten out of control somehow and attacked a helpless hiker. Nathaniel corrected her silent speech insisting that it had not been the wolf in front of them. Nathaniel began speaking with the wolf again as Ryssa began to wonder if her wish for excitement had been granted.

As soon as Jordan had sent a message to the rest of the la push wolves, two stranger were not starting at her. she began to freak. They probably think I did it. all Jordan could do was freeze motionless as the stranger began to talk to one another. Jordan might have been new but she picked up on the scent that let her know these two were not human. Vampires?!? She began to think to herself. The male vampire began to speak. “I would like you to know that I mean you no trouble but I could not help but no--” the vampire was cut off by the female.” Nathaniel something is wrong.” it was then that two vampires noticed the dead body. Jordan looked back at the vampires trying hard to read their expressions. She over heard them talking about how they thought the she was not responsible and some anxeity was lifted. “I find that it would be easier to speak with you if you changed back to your human form. We are friends of the Cullen family and of your leader Jacob. I promise that we will not harm you.” after Nathaniel said this, Jordan nodded and ran behind a bush. She was very luck she had spare clothes with her.
"I'll be out in a minute” she called, trying to pull her jeans up. when she was ready she stepped out from behind the bushes and began to walk towards the two vampires, that waited patiently for an answer. She tried hard to hold herself together, this was the first time she had ever stumbled across a dead body, let alone seen one. She tried to avoid looking at the body at all costs. “ My name is Jordan Chambers, I am apart of the la push wolf pack, I was just running around in the woods till I noticed things were not right. I heard some strange sounds but by the time I found him.” Jordan felt sick as she looked back down at the body. “ it was too late. I don’t know what is up, but rest of the pack should be here shortly, I called for them a while ago.” Jordan was not only nervous because she was A.) Standing by a dead body but, B.) She was in front of vampires that clearly knew she was a rookie. She felt sorry for looking weak, but she could not help herself. She never would have expected things to get this out of control in the first month of her stay. Jordan tried to cover up her fear as best as she could, she could only hope her new friends would not notice. “ Thank you.” she finally said as she began to feel more comfortable, because at least she was no longer alone, if something was to happen again, at least she had some vampires on her side.

Ryssa stood and waited less then patiently as Nathaniel talked to the female wolf. Part of Ryssa had been hoping it had been another wolf that she actually knew, but it wasn’t. What was more is that the young woman, Jordan, seemed extremely green in her experiences. Ryssa crossed her arms impatiently and held her breath as long as she could. The human blood was also beginning to get to her, but having a wolf so close by was starting to really annoy Ryssa. She had learned to deal with it while she had been here during the fights with Will and Crystal, but since her trip to California the smell seemed to have become worse. “Hey Nathaniel if you have this under control I’m going to leave before the over grown dog gets me sick.” Nathaniel nodded and Ryssa began to walk away from the other two and called over her shoulder, “Nice ta meet you Jordan.”
Ryssa realized that she sounded sarcastic and she could just imagine Nathaniel shaking his head. Just before she entered the rest of the trees Ryssa called over her shoulder, “Bye Mr. England.” Ryssa slipped into the tree line and climbed a tree before beginning to run along the tree tops.

As Nathaniel had expected the wolf in front of him seemed to understand what he was saying. The wolf nodded towards him after he had promised that they did not mean trouble, then the wolf went behind nearby bushes. After a few seconds Nathaniel heard a female voice call out, “I’ll be out in a minute.” The slender young woman appeared after she had changed into her cloths that she cared with her. Nathaniel could easily see how unsure the young woman seemed to be, and Nathaniel had to wonder how long she had been given duties as a wolf. “As I said a few moments ago, my name is Nathaniel Pierce and this is Ryssa Adamson.” A few seconds later the young woman introduced herself and her reason for being in the forest.
Nathaniel nodded his understanding, “I think it would be best if Jacob was here so I hope you are correct and that he will arrive soon.” Nathaniel looked back to the body of what seemed to be the innocent hiker, “Death can be such a waste.” He looked back to Jordan, “I apologize this is not an appropriate conversation.” Ryssa announced her departure and Nathaniel nodded that he had control on the situation. She left in true Ryssa form and Nathaniel turned to Jordan, “I feel as though I must apologize for Ryssa’s behavior. She is not what you could consider social.”

Jordan was glad to her that Nathaniel understood things, she was also a little ashamed that she was so new but when she heard Nathaniel mutter Jacobs name she hope to God that someone from the pack heard her message. Come on guys were are you? She thought. Her train of thought was broken when the female remarked on her smell. a little taken back by the rude comment made , she short of had to bite her lip to prevent herself from yelling anything back. “I feel as though I must apologize for Ryssa’s behavior. She is not what you could consider social.” Nathaniel said. “I would have never guessed.” She said sarcastically as she tilted her head to one side. She raised an eyebrow as she watched Ryssa walk off. Looking back at Nathaniel she smiled. “It’s ok really; it’s no big deal some people just are like that I guess.”
“Well while we are waiting what do you think we should do?” Jordan asked looking back at the dead body. She did not feel as sick anymore, she had gained some more courage as she thought about how the pack would be there any minute. Some way to start off being the new wolf she thought. Jordan mind drifted as she began to think about how the rest of the town would react. Minus the whole vampires and werewolves she knew it would hit the town pretty hard to hear about a death so close by.

Nathaniel was glad to see that Jordan did not take offense at Ryssa’s words. After a few moments Jordan asked what they should do while waiting for the pack. Nate slipped off his gloves that he had taken to wearing. “I have the gift to see the lives of others through contact. I am going to see if I can see what happened to him.” Nathaniel walked to the body and kneeled next to the hiker. He sighed in disappointment at this man’s demise and mentally pre-paired himself for what could be seen. Nathaniel was tempted by the blood but he focused on the dangerous creature that had caused this suffering.
Nate gently touched the top of the hiker’s hand. His eyes closed as instinct to watch the tale. After a sickening story Nathaniel stood with his hands clenched into fist. He turned slightly to Jordan and did his best to keep the snarl from his voice, “Jordan I think it best if you return to La Push and inform your pack there. You need to leave this area immediately.” Nathaniel took out his cell phone and tried to call Ryssa. A rare growl escaped his lips when Ryssa did not pick up her cell phone and he was forced to leave a message. Nathaniel turned to Jordan as he instinctively massaged his temple.
“We must speak with Jacob, and the Cullens immediately. Either I was incorrect about one of your pack mates attacking this man, or we have something far worse on our hands.” Nathaniel then began to listen desperately to see if the monster was still in the area.

Jordan heart began to race once after she heard that there was something up in the area. She had no objections to leaving immediately and informing the others.” I’m going to go ahead and head back to La push, maybe it just might be better to just discuss matters there.” Jordan was not too comfortable phasing in front of a vampire but she knew it would be the fastest way to inform the rest of the pack, as she was heading back. “Excuse me for this, I know it might cause some slight discomfort, but I don’t think it would be wise to take my time informing the rest of the pack.” After this was said Jordan phased and went running off into the night.
“There is something in the woods, I’m heading back to discuss things with you. According to the vampire one of us needs to start explaining or something far worse has come to forks.” Jordan’s paws pushed dirt into the night sky, she was running at an amazing pace and instead of heading straight towards Leah’s she decided to go to Jacob’s. “Jacob I’m heading to your house, you need to come out and talk. Something is not right.” Jordan was becoming rather frustrated at the fact that no one else seemed to be responding. She had taken in to account that things had gotten rather serious, and due to her lack of experience she needed to speak with Jacob more than anything. When Jordan arrived at Jacob, she paced back and forth, realizing that she had used up her last pair of clothes. “ go figure” she thought. Jordan did not have time to go back to Leah’s so she just decided to stay in wolf form and she waited for Jacob to respond.

Jordan paced back and forth, she could tell her breathing became heavier. She was starting to get worried. A small but sharp whine escaped her mouth, and she tried to send another message to the pack. “Is anyone there? Something happened in the forest, I need to talk to either Jacob or Leah. if anyone gets this please meet me at Jake’s. Someone life has been lost, and I’m not sure on the cause yet. Forks is in great danger.” Jordan stretched her front paws out and slowly laid on the ground. She figured that maybe lying down might lower her anxiety. Her eyes were heavy, but she was sending out what ever messages she could, waiting for someone to respond.
Jordan was frustrated but she did not mind so much. She figured that Jake or someone was on their way. Jordan knew that if Jake was at his house he would have been out in a minute. Jordan was a little hesitant to go to the door figuring she would wake up jakes family. Jordan thought about the two vampires she met in the woods and wondered if they had talked to any of the Cullen’s by now. Jordan could only hope the message was getting out somehow.

Jacob was thoroughly enjoying his evening with Nessie. They had dinner, watched a movie as a family, put Alicia down for the night, and then Jacob and Nessie laid snuggled up with each other talking about their day. It was only a day after their family outing to their meadow and they began talking about the day they had with their beloved daughter, and while reminiscing Nessie fell asleep, with her head on Jacob's chest.
As Jacob lay there playing with Nessie's hair and listening to her breathe he couldn't help but think of how he was the luckiest man alive. He was just about to doze off himself when he thought he heard something outside. He wasn't quite sure of what it was though, and he couldn't be sure if it was just his imagination. With life being a little more relaxed as of late, he was not on edge as he had been and wasn't as alert. However, as he laid there concentrating on the sounds that would be right outside his house he heard a whine, and some rustling about. 'There IS someone or something outside. Ugh...' Jacob sighed and did his best to shift himself from out from beneath his beautiful, dreaming, wife. He stood up, stretched, and then tiptoed to the window.
The wolf figure that he saw alarmed him because he knew it was one from his pack. From his vantage point in the window he saw it pace for a second and then lay down in frustration. 'Oh no...something is wrong.' He didn't know which wolf was in his front yard, but he figured it must be one of the new ones because who ever it was seemed to be refraining from phasing to knock on the door. '...and they must not have a change of clothes either.' Jacob knew exactly what he needed to do. He ran as quietly as he could out the back door, undressed, phased as he jumped off of the back stairs, and ran around the front of the house. Immediately he asked, "What's going on? What's wrong?"

Jordan rose to her feet and began to shift through her thoughts clearly as she told the wolform of Jacob what had gone on. “There is a dead hiker in the forest, I happened to come across it while I was just taking a nights stroll, I had heard some strange noises but arrived at the scene too late. Lucky two vampires were close by, they told me that I should come and talk to you immediately. I’m not sure what killed the man, but whatever it is it made the vampires pretty uneasy.” Jordan looked at her paws and then back up at Jacob as she waited for a reply.
Jordan was scared, but she tried not to show fear in front of Jacob. Jordan was just relived that someone from the wolf pack was able to at least hear what had happened, she was not too sure how long she would have had to be standing there. Jordan knew that whatever was in forks on a random killing spree would soon not only have the all La Push pack after her, but also have The Cullen’s as well.
