Aviary was running late that morning. To make things worse this was her first day at a new school. “ Crap, crap, crap ” She said running to the door, and taking her car keys off the rack. “ this is just great, it’s the first day of school and I’m going to look like a total loser, not to mention people will notice me because I’m new.” She checked her back jean pocket to make sure her iPod mini was tucked away safely. When she was sure that she could at least survive the day because of her endless playlists of her favorite songs she rushed to her car, jumped in and floored it to forks high school. She had not idea what to think about whom all she would meet. She prayed that maybe this school year would be far more interesting than her experiences with her last high school. She expected there to be at least some drama, but hoped that she would be smart enough to stay out of it. Aviary peeled into the parking lot almost hitting another parked car. “What the hell Aviary” she said out loud to herself. Reversing the car, she straightened out and parked without hitting anything or anyone.
When Aviary got out of the car she looked up at the school, there were a few students starting to file into school. She grabbed her backpack out of the backseat and headed up the steps and to the door. Aviary was just in time to hear the bell ring and see the panic faces of others as they rushed to various rooms. “well this is just fantastic, I don’t even know what room I’m supposed to be going too.” Remembering the small wadded up notebook paper she had chicken scratched some room numbers and times on , Aviary reached in her pocket and inspected the worn out piece of paper. “ you got to be shitting me. English?!? for real?!.” She rolled her eyes. Of course English would be the first class of her new year here at forks. She hated that class more than anything in the world, no matter what state she happened to be living in that year. She took a deep breath and stepped through the door of her first class of the day.

Her alarm went off and she muddled around her room, trying to find the perfect outfit for her first day at their new school. Her style was pretty eclectic, she enjoyed wearing things that other people normally wouldn't choose, and yet, her wardrobe wasn't outrageous. She simply liked to look different, but not stick out like a sore thumb. However, she figured that she would be doing just that, at least until her newness at school wore off. She finally found what she wanted to wear and dressed quickly, as she nearly sprinted to the bathroom in order to beat Cody. As she entered, she closed and locked the door, smiling triumphantly to herself. However, she did brush her teeth, and apply a smidge of makeup in a quick manner, because if Cody was late then so was Emery because he was her ride to school...for now anyways, until she got a vehicle of her own.
She finished getting ready and then walked back out into the hall, wondering why Cody hadn't already been pounding on the door, demanding to be let in. She snuck quietly down the hall to his room and pressed her ear to his closed door. She didn't hear any movement or anything from inside his room, so she cracked his door open just enough to see that he was still asleep in bed. She glanced down at her watch and then threw his door open with a loud bang. "Dakota Wade Reynolds!" She shouted, and then took a running start and leaped onto his bed playfully, and said in a loud voice, "You need to get your butt up, were going to be late for school! Wake up, wake up, wake up!"

Cody groaned as he rolled over and looked at the time. It was just before seven and he was not ready to leave his bed. With a huff, he decided to sleep a while longer to avoid going to school. This was going to be the first day at a new school, so he was not looking forward to being gawked at as the "new kid" was the protocol for all new kids in any school. Slipping back into sleep, Cody pulled his sheet back over his head and drowned out the light appearing in his room from the window. Not even a half-hour later, he heard his door being thrown open and banging against the opposite wall and the screetch of his "adopted" sister Emery as she yelled his full name. He knew he was in trouble now.
The second her body slammed onto his bed, he knew there would be no getting out of actually going to school today no matter how much he tried. Grumbling a few curse words, he sat up in bed and looked at Emery with a sarcastic glare as she was already dressed for school. "You know Em..." he said, pulling his sheets and blankets off to stand up next to the bed, "this whole getting up early and dressed for school thing is overrated." He knew that Emery was the one girl in the world he could talk to like this without offending her. After all, she had been his best friend since they were born. Walking over to his door, he gestured for her to leave in a grand manner, knowing she would get the picture. "So I suggest if you want me to take your happy butt to school, you allow me to get dressed."

Alice sighed heavily as she pulled into the parking lot of Forks High School. This would be about her two hundredth trip to high school once again. This time she was starting as a senior, after an extended "absence" that she took last year around this time. Of course, her absence had been explained away to the administrators who gladly allowed her to come back to the high school as a senior. It was all too easy to fool humans in these parts to think that they were human, just like them. But Alice knew that she would never be human again, nor did she want to be because she remembered nothing of her human life. All she really knew was her immortal one.
Pulling into a parking space, she felt the unwanted gaze of the students that were wandering in a little late. She knew they were all gawking at her car, a bright yellow Porsche. All morning she had debated bringing her car to school and had decided to because she wanted to go ahead of all her siblings, even though she knew her car would draw undue attention because a)it was a sports car and b)it was bright yellow. Pulling out her information sheets, she sighed and threw her bag over her shoulder and headed off to the office to register. Walking the halls of the school seemed all to familiar. She thought back to her days as a student while her sister Bella had still been a human. Those times had been trying for their whole family as Edward's relationship with Bella always posed a danger to both Bella and the Cullen family because of Bella's humanity.
Brushing aside those thoughts, she went through registration in the office. The ladies all seemed glad to have a Cullen back in the school. Alice knew it was because everyone in town loved Carlisle as their doctor. He was the ultimate good samaritan and the entire town appreciated the work he did at the hospital. Once she was finished and had her schedule, she headed out to her first class of the day...it was senior level Biology. Smirking as she saw her first vision of the school year, she knew exactly what her answers on the quiz the teacher was going to give were going to be. Walking into her class, she took her seat and prepared herself for the monotony that was high school.

Jasper tossed the lone notebook into the passenger seat of his car and slipped a pen behind his ear. He knew he would not have to bother with taking notes in any of his classes but Jasper also understood the importance of appearances. He pulled his black Monte Carlo out of the Cullen driveway. It was not long before Jasper arrived at the school and he knew that he would be a few minutes later but he had done so on purpose to avoid the crowd. Jasper pulled into the parking lot of Forks High fifteen minutes later and left his car in a spot far from Alice’s bright yellow Porsche. As he walked towards the building Jasper wondered how the school year would change things. Emmett had come back since Jasper had talked to Rosalie in the forest and that in part was why he drove himself to school. He did not want to intrude on Rosalie and Emmett’s time together.
Jasper reached the door at the same time as a girl did but she dropped her notebooks. She gathered her things and looked up at Jasper to thank him for holding the door open but she ended up staring. Jasper nodded towards the open door as he felt her amazement and curiosity flow over him. The young girl nodded with a slightly open mouth, “Um thanks.” Jasper just nodded his head as she quickly walked past him to enter the building. He followed soon after and wondered to himself how the school year would play out.

The sarcasm in his eyes quickly engulfed his voice and tone as he said " "You know Em...this whole getting up early and dressed for school thing is overrated. And as she sat there watching as he finally got up and so dramatically motioned for her to leave he said "So I suggest if you want me to take your happy butt to school, you allow me to get dressed." She laughed as she stood up and walked towards his door and said "Yeah, well, you need to hurry…we only have 10 minutes to get there and find our classes…think about that as you finish getting ready.... And that tomorrow, I may just take your truck and leave you here." She scooted out of his room and into the kitchen where she found some cereal and watched the clock. She knew that they were going to be late, so she decided to settle in and turn on the t.v. as she waited.
Twenty minutes later, Emery slammed her door shut as she got into Cody's truck. "See...is it still so overrated now that were going to be a good 15 minutes late...Huh? Huh!?" Emery began shaking her leg out nervousness and tried to preoccupy her mind with staring out the window and trying to count how many houses they would actually pass on their way to school. Plus…the fact that they were going to be late on their very first day of school in this tiny town she realized that she may just die of embarrassment if anybody noticed.
Once they finally got there she hopped out of the truck as fast as possible and scanned the scene to see how many would be there to witness the two new people arrive late to school. The only form of life she saw was the side profile of a seemingly handsome young man as he disappeared into the building. 'Hmmm, if they all look like that around this town, things may not be so bad.' She chuckled to herself and turned to Cody and said, "Well, I guess I'll be seeing you later. Have a good first day…" As her sentence trailed off she turned and half walked, half ran to the door that the boy had disappeared into, hoping to find someone to point her in the right direction to her first class of the day. 'Oh, joy…here we go.'

Cody simply rolled his eyes as Emery walked out of his room, leaving him with an empty threat of stealing his truck the next morning for school. He knew this would blow over by the end of the day and they would be back to normal. Bickering was just part of having a sister and he knew that there was no one else in the world that he would rather argue with than Emery than anyone else in the world. He thought about this as he walked into his closet and grabbed a pair of jeans, a shirt and a jacket before walking out into his room to put on his socks and shoes. Grabbing his backpack, he went into the bathroom to quickly brush his teeth and assemble his messy hair into some sort of style appropriate for the first day of school. Within twenty minutes he was ready for class and getting into his truck, with Emery getting in on the other side...still complaining.
"Relax Em...everyone is late on the first day anyway," he said to coax her to calm down, knowing she was more nervous than anything else as her leg bounced up and down. He knew his sister better than that. Nothing else was said as they drove toward the tiny high school in off the highway through town. He knew it was better to keep his mouth shut than risk Emery snapping at him again. And he was right in that assumption because right as they parked in the parking lot, Emery shot out of the truck like a bat out of hell. "Have a good day..." he called back as she took off into the building. Stepping out of his truck, he threw his backpack on and stared at the school for a moment. "Right then..." he sighed. "Let's get this over with." He started off toward his first day at Forks High.

Katelyn strolled into Forks High with some level of confidence. This would be the last time she would talk through these doors on the first day of school, so she was happy that it would be over soon enough. Making her way down the hall to her first class of the day, she found the door and opened it, stepping inside. There were a few students she easily recognized from the previous year. After making a few greetings here and there, as was the usual thing to do after being gone for a summer, she began to look around for a seat. Then she saw an unfamiliar face she had never seen before. It was a new girl, just a few inches shorter than herself, with bright hazel eyes and chestnut hair. Katelyn knew what it was like to be the new girl, so she decided to be friendly and go over to greet her.
"Hi, I'm Katelyn Taylor," she said sweetly. "I don't think I've ever seen you around here before. Forks High is a really small school, so you get to know everyone pretty quickly." Katelyn hoped that she was being nice to the new girl as she didn't want to scare her off on her first day. She had a habit of being overly friendly sometimes, which was fine when she was with Kenzie and Lucy, but by herself it was a little overwhelming sometimes.

“I’m Aviary Hart.” Aviary said with a smile in reply to Katelyn. “And I am new, and from the looks of things I won’t have any trouble meeting people at this school.” Her face lit up with excitement. She was glad that she was slowly starting to meet people. Aviary was not sure what else to really say to Katelyn but she tried very hard to say anything that might start a good conversation without sounding completely stupid. “ So what kinds of things are you involved in here? Any clubs or anything?” Aviary knew this sounded slightly dorky but it was a start.
Aviary hoped that maybe if she got to know Katelyn she would be meeting a few other people too. Aviary smiled and waited for a response she was very hopeful about school now not only that she knew Cody, but that people were so opened to getting to know her.

As the new girl introduced herself as Aviary, Katelyn couldn't help but notice that she was very outgoing and fun for a new girl. I think she is going to fit right in with Kenzie and Lucy, she thought to herself, amusingly. When Aviary asked about clubs, Katelyn had to laugh a little bit. Forks was so small that clubs weren't really something everyone was a part of, but she knew that other schools had them, just like her old school in Seattle. "I'm not personally part of any club here," she explained. "But I do take dance outside of school with my two best friends. We've all been dancing since we were five and just continued when we moved here."
Katelyn grinned and brushed back her long blonde hair that had fallen from it's tucked position behind her ear. "Hey, why don't you come sit next to me," she suggested, pointing back to where she had placed her stuff. "My friend Kaleb is supposed to be in this class with me, so he'll be here any minute once he says goodbye to Lucy." Mentally laughing at the picture of her best friend with a boyfriend, Katelyn couldn't help but smile outwardly. It was just amazing how Lucy had a boyfriend now and she was the only single one left. She found it sad in a way since Kenzie had Jon and now Lucy had Kaleb, but she knew she'd find someone eventually...at least she hoped she would.

Aviary listened as Katelyn told her how she took dance with two other girls. It was at least nice to think that Aviary was meeting a wide-variety of people even at a small school. Katelyn seemed nice and willing to get to know Aviary a little more. When Katelyn offered for Aviary to sit next to her in the back a bigger smile spread across Aviary’s face. “Thank you very much.” She said rather sweetly. “I kept picturing that the kids at this school would be so hostile and negative, but you have proven me wrong.” she said jokingly. Aviary gathered her books up before looking back at the empty seat that Katelyn was referring to as she began to make her way towards her new seat.
“I’m not really all that big into dancing and stuff.” Aviary admitted. “I have always been more of a Tom-boy; I find my passion through the various kinds of sports my father always used to push me to play. I don’t regret it because I think athletics has changed my life, I bet you get the same kind of focus and freedom in dance that I get in sports.” Aviary mind drifted to Cody instantly and she wondered how long it would take for her new friends to catch on to her relationship with him.

Rosalie was in her closest trying to decide what to wear for her first day back to school, when she heard Alice's car leave and then a little while later Jasper's. She was surprised that her twin did not wait on her. She knew that he had be some what distant since Emmett returned but she figured that he was just trying to give them time together. Rosalie knew that she would see him at School and get to the bottom of things. She would make sure that they had a couple of classes together.
Rosalie finally decided on her clothes and got dressed in seconds. She knew that her designer clothes would make her stand out but she was going to do that anyway. She was after all Rosalie Hale. She was used to the way that the other's would look at her and the rest of the family. She knew that at lunch all the Cullen's would be at their table together and that the rest of the school would stay away from them. Rose decided that she would run to school since Jasper and Alice had both driven, she would get a ride home with one of them.
Rose arrived at the school just in time to see her twin holding the door for a girl. She wondered if Jasper was thinking about trying to find a girlfriend that was human like Edward. She would not worry about her brother and would support him, like she always did. She walked up to him at the door and smiled. "Shall we go get our schedule's and go to class, brother." She said as she held out her hand for him.

Bella groaned as the sun rose for the day that would be their first day back at school. She walked lazily to her closet as she looked at a few options that Alice had placed out for her. Bella smiled at the three options Alice had laid out, placing the two that Alice had felt more appropriate ahead of the one that she had left out of comfort for Bella. Bella grabbed the one in the back and walked to the back of her closet to find a pair of converse sneakers to go with it. She changed quickly and stepped out into the room, unsure of where Edward was entirely. She stood for a moment, debating over what she should do before went to the living room, taking her coat off the couch and made her way towards the car. In what felt like no time at all she was back at the familiar grounds of Forks High School. She sat in her car for a moment, trying to remember more of what it felt like as a human, her first memories of Edward. A small smile came across her lips as she got out of her car and made her way towards the entrance. She noticed instantly both the cars of Rosalie and Jasper, slightly surprised that they had not ridden together. Bella smiled as she saw Alice’s car and made her way into the building, walking instantly to the office to make sure that she and Edward had the same schedules. Bella began to unbutton her white jacket as she opened the door to the small office, and the smallest part of her was wishful that she could have been human again. Just for today, so she could experience one last day in highschool with the Cullens as a human teenager, to feel that certain amount of anxiety that came around being near them. Bellas Outfit

Edward had been out most of the night hunting. He knew that returning to high school meant that he would have to hunt to look somewhat human and to be able to be around the humans, though that was only a small part. He was strong enough to resist the smell of human blood. He returned to the house and noticed that Bella was already gone. He was surprised that she had not waited for him, but that was fine with him. He went into the closet and changed into clothes that were appropriate for a seventeen year old. He pulled on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, he knew that Bella would be wearing something similar. He grabbed the jacket that he did not need and head out the back way. He ran through the woods to the high school and caught Bella's scent in the parking lot.
Edward followed her scent to the office and smiled as he looked at her through the door. He remembered their first day at the high school together and knew that this time would be nothing like that, since she was not a vampire and his wife. Edward opened the door and walked into the office. He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing her neck gently. "You are safe with me, young lady." He whispered in her ear with a smile.
Edward smiled at her again as his moved to take her hand and walk up to the desk to get their schedules. "I will get our classes together." He said as they approached the counter and he turned his attention to the office worker. He looked into her eyes and knew that she would give him what he wanted. He dazzled her with his smile. "We need to be in all the same classes." He said in a low voice to her. When she gave him both of their schedules, Edward smiled and turned back to Bella. He gave her that crooked smile that melted her heart and pulled her close. "It looks like it is junior English first." He said to her as they left the office.

Bella took in the scent of the man she loved, but before she could make a move to turn around or smile, he had placed his hands around her waist and kissed her neck. She smiled softly as he took her hand and walked with him to the front desk. She observed the woman for a moment, capable of remembering his influence on women of all ages. She narrowed her eyes the slightest degree possible, wishing that she had Edwards’ power. Bella was almost certain that there were things running through her mind, but yet Edward never spoke often of what women would think of him, or how their thoughts all lead them to be dazzled by him. It was something that she found endearing about him, his modesty.
Bella had been so lost in thought that she hadn’t even noticed that Edward had arranged their schedules until she looked up at him smiling. It melted her heart every time and she was amazed that she didn’t crush the counter her fingers were clinging to as her knees felt a buckle. “ Oh, my favorite,” Bella tried to say enthusiastically as she wrapped her fingers around Edwards. She stepped out of the office with her hand in his as she looked around for a small moment. Part of her couldn’t help but wonder if any of these students were related to any of her former classmates, a thought that she knew Edward would have taken into consideration when deciding to go back to school. She mindlessly leaned her head against his shoulder, taking in his scent unexpectedly. A small growl came from her throat as she sighed, wanting to be at home in her bed instantly as she tightened her grip around his fingers, “ Perhaps you could make this day go faster so we could get home.” It still made her feel uncomfortable to have any sort of attention. Granted, she felt that people only looked at her because of who she was attached to, it still made her uneasy. “I’m sure we’ll have tons to study,”. She smiled as she looked back over at him, not incapable of falling under his spell that he cast over everyone else.
