Candice was going to meet up early that evening with Elena and go hunting. Ashlan at first agreed to go with them, but for some reason that he was in a bit of a weird mood. “Are you sure you don’t want to go?” Candice said holding the keys up by one finger. They jingled slightly as she gently shook them. Ashlan looked up and shook his head. “Ash, you have not eaten in a while, I mean look at you, your eyes, and well you just look horrible.” Candice said frowning slightly. “Don’t worry I will go hunting later tonight, I was thinking about maybe going somewhere for a while you know. Like take a trip.” Candice felt her heart sink slightly. She knew her brother was a little depressed because he really had not found anyone to get along with. Lately Candice and Elena where somewhat inseparable which made Ashlan, as Candice could imagine, feel like a third wheel. “You know I still care about you right.” Candice said softly. “I have no doubts in my mind, this gives you some time to spend with Elena, I actually already packed my things.” Candice followed her brother eyes over to a suitcase in the corner. “I’m leaving for Ireland tonight.” He said looking down at the ground.
Candice eyes grew wide. “Ashlan what the hell are you thinking!” Candice in all her years living with Ashlan had never once witnessed this impulsive behavior from him. “So your just leaving then?” she said her voice tightened as warm tears streamed down her eyes. She was mad, confused, and to top things off worried for Ashlan all together. Ashlan wore a expressionless face. “It might make things easier if I just go ahead and leave now.” he said slowly. In disbelief Candice laughed. “And when are you coming back from you little quest?” She said mockingly. “I’m not sure.” Candice body began to tremble as more tears run down her pale checks.

Ashlan knew that his sister would not take his sudden announcement lightly. He knew she would most likely assume it had something to do with her friendship with Elena, but Ashlan made sure to assure her that none of it was her fault. “Please don’t worry about me. And know this has nothing to do with you, I just need to do this for myself.” He said walking her to her and holding her small trembling body. She pushed him away and almost automatically he dropped his hands by his side still looking at her. “Maybe I should go ahead and leave.” He said picking up his things. “You do that.” Candice sneered still not looking at him. Ashlan looked up at his sister, her back still facing him and let out a soft goodbye before walking out the door. He heard a loud boom from inside and the sounds of breaking glass and then some cursing as if Candice had broke something out of pure anger. Ashlan felt almost like he should go back and comfort his sister but knew it would only make things worse.
Ashlan was not sure why he was deciding to leave so suddenly. But it felt almost as if he needed to be going, like some sort of force was drawing him to leave his sister behind for a while and just spend some time by himself. Ashlan knew all of this sounded crazy, he was sure this was about the stupidest thing he had ever done in his vampire life. Part of him knew that Candice would be ok, and eventually this stupid little quest would all make sense. Boarding the plane he pulled out his phone and texted Elena. Please check on Candice for me, I’m sorry if I hurt her in anyway but just know I might be able to explain myself better when I get back.

Elena was waiting out in the woods for Candice and Ashlan. She assumed that tonight they would probably be going to Seattle to go hunting. Feeling her phone vibrate she pulled it out of her pocket and flipped it opened. Her eyes scanned Ashlan’s text and a sense of panic spread through her body. She really did not know what to think. Without replying she began darting over to the small home that Candice and Ashlan had recently move into. She could hear Candice’s cries and her lips tightened as she balled her hand into the fist and knocked on the door. “Candice, Sweetheart, its me.” she said. The inside got dead quite and immediately Elena reached for the door handle which was locked. “Candice you’re going to have to open up.” she yelled again.
Elena heard the sounds of shuffling from inside and finally the door cracked opened. When Elena’s eyes met Candice her heart sank. Candice was a wreck. “ What happened?” she said looking down at the bits of broken wood and glass on the ground. “ I got a little too upset.” Candice said as a lump formed in her throat. “He can’t just leave like that.” she said before burying her face into Elena’s shoulders. Embracing Candice Elena tried to claim her down. “ It might help if we get something to eat.” She said softly into Candice’s ears. “ Things are always ten time worse when you’re hungry.”

Candice was eventually able to settle down a bit slightly once Elena got there. She agreed with Elena and the two of them left to go hunting. Candice really did not say anything to Elena who seemed to not mind very much picking up on the fact Candice was till processing everything. The two of them waited at a street corner, watching various people go by. Candice had to stop herself several times from almost losing it and attacking just anyone. Elena aware of Candice’s pain and hunger suggested that they go to a more dangerous part of town. As Elena and Candice waited in the shadows, Candice’s eyes watched a man who was pacing in front of a light. “It’s a drug deal.” Elena whispered “He must be new.” she said with a smile as her hunger was growing. It was not long before another man showed up and began arguing with the nervous drug dealer who seemed scared out of his mind. Several words were exchanged before a gun was pulled out. “It’s time.” Elena whispered before bolting out of the shadows. Candice followed closely behind. “Excuse me; do you two happen to know what time it is?” Elena’s voice chimed as two mean glanced up at her with curious eyes.
Candice not exactly being in a very patient mood watched as a smile spread across the two mens faces. She knew what they were thinking even without having the power to read their minds. Vampires seemed to always look unlike any women that men set their eyes on. The fight between the two men was forgotten and the two of them walked over to Candice and Elena. When the men got close enough, Elena nodded and soon Candice and Elena's hunger disappeared. They tried not to think too much about it, this was the part they hated the most but some days their hunger over powered their wishes for human life.

After the two of them where done hunting the two of them went to a bar on the otherside of town to talk about everything that had happened. Elena was very anxious to hear what all had happened between Candice and Ashlan, and knowing Candice now was in a clearer state of mind waited for her to begin her story. “so tell me what compelled you to break a table in half.” Elena said. Candice looked up at her sheepishly. “I don’t know what Ashlan told you, but he kind of broke the news to me that he was leaving for a while. He told me it was not my fault, but you know I’m worried for him as I should be.” She said trying to justify her anger. “He just told me he going off to Ireland for God knows how long.” She said looking up at Elena with teary eyes.
Elena and Candice talked for what felt like hours. Elena tried to reassure Candice that it was certainly not her fault and even though Elena herself did not understand why Ashlan would just decided to take a random trip tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. “ Your brother loves you a lot, he is a smart kid. Give him some credit and forgive him. Maybe he really needs this.” she said softly. Candice smiled. “ But did he have to break the news to me so coldly?” Candice asked with a frown. “ I’m not sure he knew of any other way. no matter how he looked at it he knew he would worry you.”

Candice was very thankful she had Elena to talk too. The more time she spends with her the more she felt comfortable about sharing almost anything with her. Candice knew that Elena was a very understanding and caring individual. “I guess you are right.” She said with a smile. “And I treated him almost like he was a piece of scum for doing what he felt like needed to be done at the time.” It was then that Candice’s little freak out moment hit her as something that just might have been very hurtful to Ashlan. “I need to give my little brother some credit, he most have fought with himself a lot before he broke the news to me.” When Candice looked up she noticed that Elena was paying attention to someone who happened to be sitting down at a table a few feet away from them. It did not take Candice very long to pick up on the scent and know that a La Push wolf was present. “Sometimes I wish this world was not so small.” Candice groaned. “Well apparently she not too pleased about us either.” Elena said rising and eyebrow.

Jordan knew as soon as she sat down that there were vampires in the room. It smelt a little like blood and she assumed that they had recently feed. Jordan was not sure what to make of vampires. She was ok with the Cullen’s because they had decided to give up their normal life to become vegetarians but at this moment Jordan was slightly disgusted by the fact she happened to run into some Traditional vampires. Jordan knew she recognized one of the vampires at the table and quickly looked down realizing that it was the one she happened bumped into at the party. “Just my luck.” She said with a moan. The other vampire sitting across from her was new though, she was a red haired young woman that seemed to wear a slightly worried expression which soon changed into disgust once she noticed Jordan. Already feeling a little stupid Jordan mustard up enough courage to go over to the table where the two vampires where sitting and at least try to be nice.
“Hello again, remember me I’m Jordan Chambers. I was at the Cullen’s party a while back.” Jordan said with a smile. The brown haired women nodded. “Elena Dayton.” She said with a smile. “This is my friend Candice.” Elena said motioning at her. Candice managed to mustard up the words “Pleasure to meet you.” but it appeared to Jordan that she was in great pain when doing so. Jordan was not too pleased at the idea that she smelt disgusting to the two people she was attempting to be nice too. “You can join us if you like Jordan.” Elena finally said after a few seconds. Candice shot a glance at her but Elena just ignored it. “ Thank you.” she said pulling up a chair. “So what brings you hear Jordan?” Elena said. “ I’m sure you two have heard about some of the things that have been happening around forks. I’m actually out here because I have picked up on the same strange scent I discovered when I came across the first body.” Jordan said in a low voice. “You came across it a body too?” Candice finally said with interest.
