The corners of Alice's lips placed themselves into a frown as she knew the unavoidable was going to have to happen. Talking to Jasper was not among the priorities of her list of things to do, but apparently she had no other option now. Edward certainly was not going to tell her what she needed to know and she had not had a vision to tell her what that truth was. The fact that her visions were off to begin with made her angry and frustrated. "Fine," she conceeded, "you win. I will talk to Jasper, but I will do it on my own time and when I feel like both of us are ready for that conversation."
Shifting her weight from one foot to the other, Alice crossed her arms across her chest in frustration. "And I really don't like being this blind," she continued. "It's almost as bad as being human. I can't see anything and it's giving me this massive headache." Alice thought back to the only other time she had felt this blind, just before Renesmee's birth. It had been equally as frustrating then as it was now. Dropping her eyes to the floor, Alice tried to focus on the future, but she had nothing coming to her clearly. All she saw were glints of her brothers and sisters happy, but nothing with herself or Jasper. "Be thankful your power doesn't go in and out like this," she sighed, looking back to her brother. "It's more annoying than you can imagine."

Edward knew that Alice was going to be stubborn, but he also knew that Jasper was just as stubborn. Edward knew that whether Alice wanted to talk or not Jasper was going to talk the her. All she had to do was listen. "I leave that to between you and Jasper, but I think that he is stronger than you give him credit for. Especially when he is around Rose. "Those two pull strength from each other and it is a twins bond that is truly tight." Edward said to her knowing that their bond was not as tight as it used to be. Seeing Rose and Jasper together again and tighter than ever, almost make Edward jealous of that bond.
Edward knew that Alice hated being without her visions, but she was blocking them. "Alice, you knew that your vision's don't work when you try to force them. You need to deal with the stresses in your life and they will return." He knew that she knew this already, but she was being stubborn and not wanting to deal with the things that she had to. "I will deal with it in my own time." "Alice, the longer to put things off, the longer you will be without your vision." Edward pointed out to her hoping to encourage her.

Alice knew that Edward was right about Jasper being much stronger when he was with Rosalie. If she had not known any better, she would have sworn they had been together from the womb in human life. However, Rosalie and Jasper just had that instant connection in this life that made them the perfect siblings. Once upon a time, she and Edward had been that close as well. But as of late she felt more and more distant from her favorite brother. Everything had come crashing down on her once Crystal tore up their family with her hateful lies and deceit. To Alice, she had never been a sister, nor would ever be one in her mind. The Cullen family consisted of her two brothers and two sisters, along with Carlisle and Esme as their loving parents. Even Jasper fit into that equation, but she still was not sure what to think of that entire situation at large.
Looking back up at her brother, she huffed and shook her head. "My visions are subjective, even you know that," she reminded him. "I think that the main reason why they have been so off, aside from the intense emotional roller coaster I've been on lately, is that I have not been making any decisions. That is why my future seems so clouded and a mystery to me." Alice chewed on that thought for a moment, knowing that it made sense. Everything about her visions was based on decisions. That was one thing she had known from the very beginning, literally from the moment she awoke to her life as a vampire and had her first visions. "I know that putting off the decisions clouds my visions longer, but it is hard for me. I've never been faced with something this difficult before. And I just want to make sure that I'm doing the right thing before I choose exactly what I will do."

Edward listened to Alice talk about her vision and he almost laughed. He knew that she visions were based off of the decision that were made, and though she was not making decisions, other were. Alice should have been able to see the decisions of others, but she was wallowing in her indecision's and missing important visions that she should have been seeing. "Alice, your visions are subjective, but you are not the only one that is making decisions. You should still be seeing the decisions of others." Edward said to her.
Edward knew that things were going to get better for her as soon as she talked to Jasper and knew that truth, but she was procrastinating. "Alice, there are things that others have put into motion that will make your decision easier for you to make, but you have to be willing to talk to people and find out the truth. You do not have all the information that you need to make your decision. There is important information that you are missing." Edward said to her hoping to make her understand the importance of the situation.

Alice shuffled one foot back and forth absentmindedly, trying to think of what to say to her brother. She knew that anyway she spun her arguements, she was never going to win against Edward. The beauty of the entire situation was that she knew she didn't have to neccessarily win in order to have things her way. "Edward, this is not about whether or not I will talk to Jasper because you and I both know that one way or another, it will happen," she defended. "What this is about is allowing me the time to do this on my own. I know and understand that the sooner things happen, the sooner my visions will come back...but this is not something I want or need to rush." Alice felt like her little frame could be trembling with frustration and emotion, but it was not as she remained as still as the water of a calm lake.
"I love you dearly as my brother," she continued, "but this is something personal and private between me and Jasper. As much as it's been publicized for everyone's general knowledge in the family about what has happened in the past, I would like to keep one thing to myself...at least for the time being." Alice knew that what she was requesting sounded ridiculous for their family, but she knew that it was not a completely wrong thing to ask for. If Edward had asked her the same thing for himself and Bella, she would have obliged gladly for her brother and sister. And that was what she was asking now. Stepping closer to Edward, she reached out and took his hand, looking at him pleadingly. "Please Edward. I have not asked for much in the past, but I am asking for this one thing now."

Edward understood what Alice was asking and normally he would have agreed with her and given in to her request, but he knew that Jasper was not going to wait on her to be ready. "Alice, if I could give you that I would, but that decision is not up to me. It is up to Jasper. I can not promise that he will let you take your time." Edward said to his sister. Edward was trying very hard to not break Jasper's trust in him, but it was get hard with Alice acting the way that she was. Edward knew that Jasper was not going to wait for Alice, knowing the truth that he did.
Edward knew that Alice wanted to do things her way but sometimes, you just have to go with the flow. "Alice, I am not the one that you need to be asking, but I am afraid that he will not talk to you alone." Edward said to her.

Alice sighed heavily and let go of her brother's hand, walking to the opposite side of the room. She always had known that Jasper was a tad impatient when it came to certain things, but she also knew that this was not one of the things he needed to be impatient about, especially since it concerned everything that was important to her and her life. Walking over to the window, she stared out of it for a while, just trying not to fly off the handle, which was not something she normally did. However, she knew that it felt like the world was closing in on her and she only had a few seconds left to breathe.
Her attention quipped when Edward mentioned that Jasper would not speak to her alone and she turned on a dime to face her brother. "Excuse me?" she said. "What exactly do you mean by he won't speak with me alone?"

Edward knew that Alice was not going to like the response that he was going to give her, but he did not have a choice. Jasper and Rose had been talking at the River and they knew that Edward would hear everything. "Alice, I can only tell you that Jasper will not leave Rose's side right now. I have to hear their thoughts, because of how close they are. I can not break that confidence and tell you anything that I know other that, you need to talk to him. If that means with Rose there, than swallow your pride and do it." Edward said to his sister. He knew that Alice was emotional, but she was going to have to hear the truth. Edward did not understand why Alice was fighting so hard. Edward had already told her that she did not know the truth, like she thought she did. He figured that would have let her know that something was up. Edward was starting to think that he was going to have to spell it out for her.

Alice tugged at the hem of her dress and bit her lip. It seemed like everyone in their family was hell-bent on her talking to Jasper, one way or another. Hearing her brother tell her to swallow her pride hurt because her pride was all she had left to hold onto these days. The rug had been swept out from underneath her when Jasper cheated on her and then again when she somehow found herself going to Florida to rescue him from the sadists that called themselves doctors; using him as their test rat for all sorts of evil and sadistic things that not even their kind was able to endure unscathed. Alice found herself unable to say anything else aloud in fear of becoming more emotionally unstable than she already was. Instead, she focused on her thoughts. You win, she conceeded weakly in her head. I give up fighting this ridiculous fight because once its over and done with, I'll be able to move on with my life no matter what the outcome is. Alice knew that her words were harsher than she meant them to be. She was only tired of feeling like everything was somehow connected to her and if she did not do something, everything would fall apart. "I have to go..." she added aloud, prepare myself for whatever is coming since I can't see it." Taking a few steps back, she found the door of the cottage and slipped out, but not before saying her goodbyes. I'm sorry I upset you... she thought as she walked out and into the forest nearby.
