Lucy laughed as Kaleb claimed that he would have pouted all day if he couldn’t see her. Kaleb returned her smile a few moments later and took off his own shoes. "You wanna walk in the water eh?" Lucy grinned and pretended to fan herself with her hand as she did her best impression of Scarlett O’Hera, “Oh yes’m sir, this horrible Washington heat has got me plum tuckered out.” Lucy laughed and playfully nudged into Kaleb as they reached the water. Lucy had no idea that when she left her house that morning that it would turn into one of the most amazing days she had ever had. Kaleb stopped just as they hit the foamy edge of the water and said that he needed to roll up his jeans. Lucy would have done the same but semi-thankfully she had pulled on shorts when she left the house so as long as they didn’t walk too far into the water her shorts would stay dry. ‘I probably should have grabbed an extra pair of shorts or something just in case.’ Just as the thought went through her mind she felt herself pulled forward and she realized that Kaleb was about to pull her underwater.
Lucy wanted to call him a name before she went under but Lucy only had time to hold her breath and pinch her nose. As Lucy came back up for air she realized that her hair had formed a curtain between her face and Kaleb. She also mentally kicked herself for not paying attention to what Kaleb had really been trying to do and she knew that the pre-Kaleb Lucy would have him figured out from the get go. ‘Yeah well I still have a few tricks up my sleeve.’Lucy thought to herself with a smirk knowing her hair shielded her smile from Kaleb. Forcing her face into a glare that she had no real heart behind Lucy used one arm to flip her hair back.
“Oh think you’re real smooth huh Cowboy?” At that moment Lucy wasn’t sure if Kaleb would be able to figure her out or not because she had used his nickname. Lucy held in her breath and dove forward knocking Kaleb back and under the water. She came back up and had to flip her hair out of her face again. Lucy laughed and plopped back in the water, luckily the water was shallow enough that she could sit down. She wriggled her eyebrows, “Guess we’re even Cowboy.”
