Before Raine had led her towards the bear she managed to say "A few days ago, Im still finding my way around Forks."
Raine had led her to big black bear, apparently male though Vanessa couldn't tell. She had to agree with Raine, the bear was beautiful. She kind of didn't want to aggravate it now. Just kind of watch it. She was fascinated by it, the way it moved, the way it did everything. It was one of the most beautiful things she had ever seen. Vanessa, being a somewhat photographer, was taking pictures in her mind of the bear. It would be a great picture for a nature magazine.
But, Vanessa was also wondering, if Raine knew where the bears where, did she know where the wolves were?

Raine looked at Vanessa and saw the look in her eyes.
And that was what she had wanted.
Raine got out her cell phone and moved a little closer.
She whisled and the bear looked over at her.
She took a photo of it and walked back to Vanessa.
"Ive been visiting this bear since he was little. His mother was killed by a male bear and i managed to save him. He is used to my smell and i can get really close to him. And when i feel sad or lonely i go uphere to visit him. Ive named him Night Child, since it was night time when i found him." Raine said and sighed.
She loved that bear, it was the only one she could never kill.
"He somewhat taught me alot about these woods, and i taught him where the traps were from the hunters." Raine said.
Raine had allways been extremely good with animals, they allways knew she was to protect them if she liked them.
She took her bag from her back and took out a folded news paper, inside it was a nice big tuna fish she had brought for Night Child.
She walked out of the bushes and walked over to him standing a few feets from him, knowing he could get angry since he just got out of his sleep and was hungry.
She held out the fish and he took it gently with his mouth.
Then he sat down and started eating it with delight.
Raine laughed lightly and watched him.
She signed to Vanessa telling her to get over there, she wanted her to really be close to a bear.

Raine was incredible with the bear! Night Child she had named it... Once Raine had signaled for her to get closer she kind of panicked. "Um, Im kind of more of a distance person..."
she said still standing near the bush. Although the bear was beautiful and seemed nice enough to Raine, bears still somewhat scared Vanessa
Two years ago, Vanessa and her cousin where playing in the woods around her old house. Her cousin, being a year older and more adventurous, wanted to go deeper into the forest, and Vanessa being stupid, followed her. Her cousin, Rachel, came across a bear. The bear was angry. She had gotten to close to it and it had attacked her. Vanessa had felt helpless, all she could do was stand there and watch. She ran back to the house and got her uncle, but it was to late.
Rachel was permanetly scarred for life. Not dead, which everyone was thankful for, but Vanessa was still to scared of bears to approach them like Raine was.

Raine sighed, Vanessa obviously didnt want to meet the most friendly bear in the world.
She walked over to where Vanessa was.
"Night Child is THE most harmless bear in the world, he only eats fish and berries, and loads of it. He wont harm you in any way, and if you wanna walk in these woods you better learn to be near bears, cuz there is alot of them." Raine said and sighed.
She walked a few feets away and whisled to Night Child.
He came over to her and lay down on his belly.
Raine scratched him behind his ears and down his back.
One of the reason Night Child was allowing her so close was that he had once challenged her to fight and lost. since that day he had been the nice bear to everyone, exept other male bears.
Night Child yawned and Raine laughed.
"Dont come and say your still sleep my dear, youve slept for months." Raine said and kissed the top of the bears head.

Vanessa closed her eyes and took a deep breath, pushing all of the horror stories about her cousin out of her mind. She walked slowly over by Raine and watched as she pet it. "Can I..can I pet him?"she asked nervously as she continued watching Raine. Raine was right, if Vanessa wanted to hike here more often, she had to get used to the idea of bears. She was standing somewhat behind Raine till she said Vanessa could pet him. He looked sweet enough, nothing like the bear that had attacked her cousin. Maybe that was just an isolated incident, maybe her cousin was just an idiot for approaching an angry bear.

Raine laughed.
"Ofcourse you can pet him, he is all in for petting, just look how he adores it. Bears are not bad, they are actually friendly, but if they feel threatned or anyone moves fast near them they get scared and cofused, and a protections lamp flashes in their mind hehe, thats why they attack, not cuz they want to eat humans, its cuz they are scared. They think we are scary, and we are scared by them."Raine said and laughed.
It was a shame that the relationship between humans and bears was like that, bears was incredible creatures, and very smart too.
Raine waited patiently for Vanessa to try and pet him.
Night Child looked at Vannessa and took in her smell, he yawned and looked at her with his big eyes.

Vanessa look at Night Child, and he was looking up at her with his big brown eyes. He reminded her of a large puppy dog! He seemed sweet enough. Vanessa cautiously held out her hand, letting him smell her like she used to do with the dogs in her neighborhood and, once he was done, started petting him. He was so soft. Once Vanessa started petting Night Child, all the stories about her cousin completely left her mind. It was just a stupid mistake on her and her cousin's part.
"He is so soft. And so sweet. He reminds me of a teddy bear." Vanessa smiled at Night Child. The fact that he reminded her of a teddy bear was kind of ironic considering he was a bear. Vanessa started imagining her mother's face if she knew that her precious little daughter was petting a bear.

Raine laughed at Vanessa, she couldnt help it.
Well he is a teddy bear. Allright lets go now, other wise we will never get away, he will keep us here haha, never cuddle a cuddly bear too long or it will keep you as a cuddle pet" Raine said and got up.
She scratched Night Child once more and looked at Vanessa.
" We better get back now, its getting late and your parents might get worried about you, and i really wanna get home to my husbond. we have to pack for our honey moon, but we wont be gone for long, only a week or so" Raine said and started walking back the way they came from, expecting Vanessa to be right behind her.

Vanessa was kind of sad to be leaving Night Child, and the woods. In one day she had fallen in love with all of it. She just loved the way the forest was quiet, all you could hear was the person you were walking with and all the animals.
She pet Night Child one last time then turned and walked behind Raine. Of course, her mother was going to be worrie about her. She hadn't brought her cell phone like she said she would, all she had said to her mom was Going hiking be back in a few hours. She could've been gone for two minutes and her mother would still freak out when she got home. But, she really didn't want to leave but was sure that if she didn't follow Raine that she had the capability of dragging Vanessa out, and that wouldn't be fun. "You have a husband?" This was the first time she had heard Raine mention a husband, Raine looked young enough to be a senior. And she had a husband. That was kind of funny.

Raine laughed.
"Yes i do have a husbond, we got married 2 days ago in vegas, we just ran off hehe. I love him dearly. I have the man i love with me and a beautifull home the family made for us, you should come and see it soon, its just outside Forks on Cullen ground. its a house in the trees, they made it for me since i love being in the trees" Raine said and kept walking.
She had a great time being with Vanessa and hoped she would have many more.
But for now she really wanted to go home and get packed for her honey moon.

Vanessa smiled "Yeah, sure. I'll come see you after you get back from your honeymoon." Raine was alot of fun, once she got back they could hang out more but Vanessa could tell Raine was anxious to get home so she started walking a little faster. "Sorry Im keeping you away. I'm kind of clumsy and don't want to fall." It was true. Vanessa had tried dancing before but continually fell and refused to be humiliated at the recital so she just quit. She remembered one day at dance, she was supposed to do one of the jumps, fell and broke her arm. It was pretty hilarious once she looked back on it.

"Its allright, i have a great balance and im used to walk in these woods" Raine said and grabbed Vanessa hand to make sure she wouldnt fall.
They walked for another 15 minutes and came out to a road leading to Forks.
Raine started walking along the road and saw the trail up to the Cullen house.
"Okay this is where i have to go up, just follow the road about 5 more minutes and then your in the town. Heres my card, message me or call whenever you want. Ill cya when i get home" Raine said and gave Vanessa her card. She waved and walked up the small road to the Cullen Mansion.

Vanessa walked with Raine for about 20 minutes from Night Child before Raine arrived at her drive. She took the card and continued walking. Her car was actually just a few minutes down the road where she had parked it and started walking. Thank goodness to because her house was about half an hour away.
Raine was nice. Very daring and adventurous for sure. She would have to give her a call sometime next week to go see Night Child and maybe do something normal. Like....a movie or something.
Vannessa arrived at her silver Escort, got in and started driving towards her house, where her mom was sure going to freak out when she got there.
