As Kenzie's hand met the sides of his face, Jon's inner control panel smashed, sending his pulse thudding into overdrive. A lightly trembling hand sought its way upward, around her arm, to find her perfect hair and tangle itself in it. Self-control was nowhere in the picture as the intensity level increased even more in their kiss, and his lips, leaving hers with the definite promise of return, found her neck, softly embracing the flawless, smooth skin there, seeking downward slowly with each affection.

Kenzie felt her pulse skyrocket as she could feel Jon's hand tangle its way into her hair. Their kiss was becoming far more passionate than she intended it to be from its beginning. Her heart was literally racing by the time Jon's lips left hers and began it's downward trail to her neck. That is what sent her over the edge. She recoiled from him and sat up on the bed. "I can't do this," she whispered. "I...I have to go...now..." She got up from Jon's bed and immediately went back into his living room, finding her purse where she had left it on his couch, opening it and grabbing her cell phone before walking out the front door. The wind was cold, but she didn't care as she looked through her contacts and found the name she was looking for...Katelyn.
She waited for three rings before the other end picked up. Before Katelyn could say two words, Kenzie just blurted everything out at once to her friend. "Kate, I need to you to come pick me up please...I just...I just need you to come get me right now. I'm walking on the road on my way back from La Push." She didn't bother explaining what had happened, but she knew that there would be questions once Katelyn had her chance to say something.

Katelyn had been working on finally finishing moving all her stuff into her room of her new house. Since their big move from Seattle to Forks, she and her parents had been working on getting most of the family stuff put up in the living room, kitchen, and the office area, so her room had not really been priority until now. Her first few weeks at Forks High had passed rather uneventfully and dance was going wonderfully with Kenzie and Lucy. Then there were her few run ins with the ever mysterious Nathaniel...which she still had yet to figure out. He seemed so...alone and yet, at the same time, like he did not mind it so much. Katelyn was determined to figure him out one way or another. While pondering that, her phone began to vibrate in her back pocket. She saw it was Kenzie, so she answered it immediately and was shocked to hear what she did on the other end.
"Whoa whoa, slow down hon and tell me what the hell happened," she said amidst Kenzie's frantic pleas for her to come get her. Finally, she said, "Alright, I am on my way now, so just stay put and don't do anything stupid. Stay on the phone with me so I know you're alright." Katelyn proceeded to grab her keys and jump in her car, while staying on the phone with an upset Kenzie. After driving toward La Push, she found Kenzie on the side of the highway and pulled over to retrieve her friend. Kenzie was crying and that pissed Katelyn off more than anything. Oh Jon had better be glad that Lucy isn't with me or there would be hell to pay, she thought bitterly as her best friend got into the car. "Alright, let's get you home," she gently said, turning her car around and heading back toward Forks.

Everywhere around Jon was Kenzie, and she was his everything- his air, his sustenance. Her scent was on the lips of every breath he took- until it wasn't. Though he was more encapsulated in the moment of their kiss than he'd ever been in anything ever, the moment she pulled away was more vivid in his consciousness than anything. Because, as she whispered while the beast within faltered, he realized why this had seemed all so familiar. The only thing that had changed from that day, so long ago, in the forest behind the Karter's was the intensity of the kiss and what had happened during it. He hadn't watched himself. Again.
"K-Ken-" he stuttered stupidly as she darted from his bedroom for the living room doorway, staggering quickly to his feet to follow her in heartbreaking pursuit. Nothing more than a Jerron, nothing more than a Jerron... echoed painfully, hauntingly against the sides of his head as the lump was already painfully strong in his throat. "Kenzie-" his voice was just a pained murmur as his eyes flooded almost instantaneously- "I'm sorry; I'm so sorry. Please don't leave me. I'm so sorry," he quickly, quietly, voice cracking sporadically as the tears dangled precariously from the corners of his eyes, apologized as she began flipping through her phone, obviously trying to find someone. Someone else. Someone she'd feel comfortable riding home with. Someone that wasn't him...
His throat was closing up on him in his effort to not get totally weepy, but he deserved every last pain that was hurting him and sending his hands trembling with the extreme emotion he was going through.
Nothing more than a Jerron... She was walking to the front door, and Jon's feet were cemented in location as time seemed to be moving in slow motion.
Nothing more than a Jerron... Tears were streaming down her face as she reached for the handle, but it seemed Jon's jaw was locked shut as well. He couldn't stop her from doing her own thing this time.
Nothing more than a Jerron... The door was swinging open now, and the tears were flowing quickly down his cheeks. She was really leaving. And, if she could be anyone but her caring, forgiving self, it would be for the last time.
Nothing more than a Jerron... His hands were shaking violently now. She would be cold in the wind as she shut the door behind her without looking, and she didn't want him there to help her. Because she was done with him. Because of what he'd done himself. The horrifyingly numbing fog, so granted to be gone since last time, was swirling around him again, clouding his vision...
Nothing more than a Jerron. The intense grief overwhelmed him, dragging him downward as he phased with the sound of shredding clothing that his house would hold from Kenzie's ears. And it was finished.
