Folding her hands, Bella looked back at her cousin. "It's...complicated Ronnie, more than you realize or know. Alice does not love Jasper like that anymore. She loves someone else and he treats her the way she should be treated," she said, immediately thinking of her dear sister and Evan. There was something about him that made Bella at ease with her sister being with him. He was a gentleman in every way and only cared deeply for Alice. In many ways, he reminded Bella of how Jasper used to be. But, at the same time, Evan was a totally different man and loved Alice differently.

"Well no offense, but I don't like Evan either. There's just something about that guy that gives me the jitters. Alice has the worst taste in men in my opinion." Maybe it was because Veronica was a little biased. Jamie was the perfect man for her in her life. She couldn't open her eyes up to anyone else. "Seriously, if they'd been together that long, why couldn't they have worked things out. And don't tell me it's complicated. Because I know complicated."

Shaking her head Bella said, "Ronnie, you don't know complicated beyond your own human experiences. While Jasper and Alice were together for a long time, he did not trust her own intuition about Crystal...which turned out to be right all along. It takes trust and reliance for a relationship like our kind to work because we are together for a long time." Bella paused to take a dramatic breath so she wasn't completely talking Veronica's ear off. She continued a second or two later. "As far as Evan goes, he has been nothing but polite to everyone in this family. My husband can read thoughts and there has been nothing threatening or even remotely dishonest coming from Evan, otherwise Edward would have killed him a long time ago. He is protective of his twin sister, much like you are of yours."

"First of all, Alice and Edward do not look like twins, so don't feed me that. Secondly, I don't care what Evan thinks. I know what Edward can do, and I don't like Evan regardless. Thirdly, in a relationship, you don't just go running off because your significant other has a different intuition, no matter who's right and who's wrong. That's how Jimmy Jam and me make our relationship work." She shook her head and leaned back in her seat. What the hell was wrong with these vampires?

Listening to Veronica go off about her family made Bella tighten her jaw in frustration. No matter what her cousin said, the Cullens were her family first and she loved them with all of her heart. "Ok, first of all...you don't have to look like twins to be twins. Hell, you don't even have to be related because Alice has been Edward's twin longer than you and Lexie have been out of the womb," she bit back the venom in her mouth that was seething from her frustration. "And you don't know the first thing about being in a long-term relationship like we have as vampires. Tell me, what exactly would you do if your husband of over a century sided with someone else who just walzed back into your life and claimed to belong to the family again?" Bella bit her tongue to keep from completely going off on Veronica in public.

Veronica listened to Bella go off on her, but didn't get hit by any of it. She was a tough cookie, so she was good with whatever Bella said to her. "It depends on how I felt about him. The past, the present and what I wanted for the future. I know that I'm going to spend the rest of my life with Jamie, so no matter what he did, I would always stand by him. Good. Bad. Or just plain idiotic. I would be there for him."

Shaking her head, Bella scoffed. "You are both young and naieve. Relationships are based off more than committment and blind love. You have to have trust there and without it, you don't have anything." She folded her hands in front of her, looking once more at the patterns on the tile of the table. It was distracting enough for a few seconds so that she could gather her thoughts and continue. "Besides, not everyone puts up with continuous bull crap from their significant other. Alice finally put her foot down with Jasper and look where we are now."

"Don't take this personally, but--even though I don't like Alice and Evan or Jasper--I think she's lying to herself." The waitor came with her order and she leaned back, shutting up to give him some space. She nodded with a bright smile in thanks as he left. She then continued, picking up her untensils. "I'm not naive. My mom and dad never called me that because they see the love Jamie and I have for eachother. It was much like their own relationship. Jamie and I trust eachother enough. No matter what the situation, I would stick by him."

"Well, no matter who you like and dislike, the point of the entire thing is that Alice is with Evan and you are just going to have to accept it," Bella said bluntly. If it was one thing she was tired of, it was the drama that had ensued since her, Edward, and Renesmee's return from England. It was one continuous thing after another and she was sick of it. She had been the one to take care of Alexandra during her pregnancy, deliver the twins, and keep everyone from killing each other. And now she was at the point where she was ready to be done with all of it, wash her hands of the situation, and get back to living her life with her husband and daughter, who was expecting a baby soon.

"I don't have to associate with Alice and I'm not going to." Veronica took a bite, chewed quickly and swallowed. "So that solves that problem. And I don't mean to make you upset, Bella, but I'm just speaking my mind. I know people like to do that from time to time."

Bella's eye twitched slightly out of habit and she looked back at Veronica, sighing deeply. "Yes, people do express their opinions and they always seem to be when I'm the one of the receiving end of it. Everyone seems to come to me with their problems and opinions and I can only handle so much." Bella hated venting her problems out loud since she was a relatively quiet person in general, but this was just getting out of hand with the entire family.

Veronica grinned. "Well, I didn't really come to you for my problems. I just wanted to hear your opinion on where things are going. I definately got my answer." She looked down at her food and took another bite with the fork and chewed thoughtfully, still looking down.

"The fact of the matter is that I have other more important things to worry about right now that are more important to me," she said, watching her cousin eat her food. Edward had been right, human food did smell kind of strong once you were on the other side of things. "My daughter is having a baby in a few weeks and I have to help her prepare for that as well as keep Jake from going crazy."

Veronica looked up as she finished chewing. "I understand that. Maybe I should talk to Edward. Although I don't want him reading my thoughts every second. That'll annoy me." She looked back down, playing with her food with the fork and then put some more in her mouth and chewed as she looked back up.

"It's not that I don't want to talk to you about things Ronnie," she said softly. "It's just that timing isn't always the best thing when it comes to people trying to talk to me about everything." Bella picked up a fork and twirled it around her fingers. "You know, when all this began...I never expected it to end this way at all. I wanted my family to stay together, but that just was not in the cards for us I guess."
