Lucy almost missed Jon glance to Kenzie before he turned his attention to answer her question. He answer the basic questions about where he lived and how old he was. Jon made a joke about wondering what he could say to Lucy. A part of her wanted to be extremely immature and ask if it was meant to be a joke, but Lucy allowed herself a small snort that turned into a small laugh. Once again though a voice yelled inside her head, ‘Remember Jerron. Don’t let Jon fool you.’ The difference though is Jerron had never fooled her. She disliked him from the first moment that she had met him, and this Jon was doing a far better job in her standings.
“Well as previously stated I am Kenzie’s best friend. Kenzie is a few months older then I am, and I am from Seattle. I have been dancing since I was five years old, and my favorite color is blue. The only time you will ever have to worry about retaliation from me is if you ever hurt Kenzie.” Lucy shrugged to herself more then anyone else, “As long as you never hurt Kenzie then you don’t have to worry about itching powder in your underwear.” Lucy grinned to herself knowing that Kenzie would see the joke behind it but also the truth, so Lucy was unsure about how either of the pair would react to her last statement.

Watching the interaction between Jon and Lucy eased some of the tension Kenzie was feeling. If Jon could make a good impression on Lucy, then the rest would be cake. And then Lucy busted out the commentary on the itching powder, true to Lucy form. Rolling her eyes, she took Jon's hand in her own and reassured him, "But Lucy only reserves that kind of behavior for the worst offenders. Don't you Luce?" Kenzie raised her eyebrows jokingly. This was exactly how their friendship opperated. It was quite amusing actually to someone who knew them well.

Lucy grinned to see that Kenzie had reacted first my rolling her eyes. Obviously she did not take the comment to personal offense or to the offense of her new boyfriend. ‘Kenzie really does like him.’ Lucy sighed inside of her head. To answer Kenzie’s question it would have been correct in saying that Kenzie’s assumption was correct. Lucy still did not know enough about Jon to go along with what Kenzie seemed to be suggesting, and she was not ready to be a complete angel just yet. Lucy shrugged nonchalantly as she sat up on the bed. She plopped her hands in her lap and looked as calm as possible and gave Jon a quick glance before turning back to look at Kenzie, “I use my best friend judgment.”

Jon raised his hands innocently in the air, chuckling at the bit about itching powder in his underwear. Nahh, she can't be serious... can she? Second thoughts were rushing cautiously through his head at Lucy's words. Wait, quick resolve- don't upset Kenzie. Problem solved. Like he'd ever not want to see her happy! "I'll be good; I'll be good," he promised, acting as if to hold off her wrath... which, for all-intensive purposes, he was doing.
Kenzie took his hand, and he gave her a reassured, calm, dry grin before he turned back to Lucy. It seemed that skating around with niceties wasn't going to earn him her trust. Jerron had scarred not only Kenzie, but also the Karters, Lucy... Jerron was quite literally the most self-absorbed idiot Jon had ever heard of, and he'd never even met the fool. If Stupid had any sort of luck at all, he'd never see Jon's face up close.
He had to catch himself before his hand could tremble even more in Kenzie's before he replied, "Look, Lucy... Kenzie's told me about- Jerron." The word came out unexpectedly as a more intense growl than had previously happened in Jon's mind, and a blush lightly grazed his face. Just keep going, alright...? "I know we haven't known each other very long at all... but I need you to trust me when I tell you that I'm not him. To be honest..." he trailed off, shrugging briefly. "I don't think I could hurt Kenzie. Lucy... I love her," he admitted shamelessly. ...hopefully that works.

Lucy bit back a smile as she watched Jon and her best friend. It was obvious to anyone that could see they were a one in a kind couple and that they were meant to be. Lucy still was not ready to play the angel yet but she knew when to behave; at least for the most part. She could feel herself tense up as Jon mentioned Jerron. Lucy’s hands became fist in her lap and she had to focus on the action just to uncurl her fingers. Then Jon spoke the words that made Lucy feel like she was in an old time Hollywood movie. It took her a second to shake the daze from her head and she turned to Kenzie, “Would you mind waiting down stairs for a few minutes so I can talk to him?”
Lucy knew that she was not going to anything to harm Jon, at least not at present; she did however want to speak with him alone. Lucy knew that Jon was trying to impress her as the best friend but she wanted to speak to him without Kenzie standing by him. In fact Lucy was not sure whether or not Kenzie would leave the room and she looked at her friend with a small smile, “Don’t worry Kenz I just wanna talk for a minute without the girlfriend around.” Lucy forced her smile from growing knowing the last part would seem like a joke. Lucy knew that Kenzie, and maybe even Jon would pick up on the fact that she could accept Jon’s position in Kenzie’s life.

Kenzie cocked her eyebrow in a concerned look at her best friend when she asked her to go downstairs for a few minutes. If she knew Lucy, it had to be something pretty important or bad, otherwise she would not ask something like this. So, her impression of Jon was either really good or bad. Throwing a look of reassurance at Jon, she began to walk out of her bedroom. "Alright Lucy, but no more than ten minutes or I will start to get worried," she warned. "You know how I get sometimes."
With that, she turned on her heels and walked out of the room, giving Jon one more apologetic look before leaving. In a way, she did feel bad for him to be stuck in a room by himself with Lucy for any amount of time, being that he was her boyfriend and all. Kenzie knew that the minute she left the room, Lucy was going to give him 'the run-down' of how things were going to be...or else. Kenzie didn't pretend to understand why her best friend did those things, that was just how Lucy was and she accepted it. Walking downstairs, she took a seat on her living room couch and waited for the best friend/boyfriend conversation to be over. If he survives this, he will definitely be on Lucy's good side, she chuckled to herself as she sat and played with her curls absentmindedly.

Lucy continued to sit with her hands in her lap as Kenzie laid down her guidelines. She bit back a smile as Kenzie commented on how she sometimes gets. Lucy knew good and well that Kenzie was getting worried at that point because Lucy had not revealed for the most part which way she was leaning with Jon. Ten mintues would probably be more then enough time left with Jon. Lucy was not planning on talking with Jon for long so for the most part the length of the conversation would depend on Jon’s response. Lucy had to bite back another laugh as Kenzie sent a huge ‘I AM SORRY’ look with her eyes before she left the room.
Lucy waited for a second and took a deep breath. Lucy then got up from the bed and sauntered to the window that out looked to Kenzie’s yard. She couldn’t believe she was even here with this situation, especially how Jerron had treated Kenzie. Lucy sighed and turned to Jon lightly crossing her arms over her chest, “Look I’ll return the favor and be honest with you Jon. I don’t know you and the way Kenzie was treated by her last boyfriend I am not exactly inclined to like you. For me as the best friend it will be a cold day in hell before I let anyone even close to Jerron come into Kenzie’s life again. I know I am only a seventeen year old and whimpy compared to you,” Lucy grounded her teeth for a moment to force the tears of anger back, “But believe this Jon, I will find a way to kick your ass until the end of time if you ever do anything to Kenzie other then making her blissfully happy.” Lucy took a deep breath and glanced out the window to compose herself before she turned to look back at Jon. “Tell me why you love her.” Lucy could still feel the tears of anger burning her eyes and she her eyes for a moment to will them away.
