Bella paced the floor of the bedroom, wondering what she was going to do. The situation with Crystal was becoming more and more of an issue for everyone in the Cullen family. All of the stress was getting to Renesmee, causing her to cry more at night in her sleep. That was sending Bella's natural maternal instinct into overdrive. She was worried that all of stress was going to cause her daughter to have a nervous breakdown before the wedding. Bella knew that Renesmee tried to stay away from conflict as much as possible, but it seemed like she was getting dragged more and more into the middle of it all.
As she paced, she began to think of all that had happened since their return from London. Everything seemed to have crashed down at once with Crystal's return, Renesmee and Jacob's engagement, and now Alice trying to leave. It all was so much to handle at once. She wrung her hands in despair at everything she was unable to control. Right then, she knew who she needed.
Lowering her shield she called to Edward softly but urgently, knowing if he were anywhere within a ten mile radius, he could hear her, Edward, I need you to come home. Please.

Edward had decided to go for a run in the forest to clear his head of the worries he had about his family. He was trying not to be upset about Crystal being back and Alice wanting to leave. Edward was not happy about that and neither was the rest of his family. Edward had Nessie's wedding and honeymoon coming up soon and he had not even started planning the honeymoon yet for them. Edward need time to thing and figure things out. He was the one that the family looked to for guidance in Carlisle' absence and lately Carlisle had been absent alot it seemed.
Edward was not sure how to handle the issue with Crystal and Will. Edward knew Crystal's thought's but that didn't help him trust her. Edward knew that as long as Will was still out there that Crystal couldn't be trusted. He was trying to figure out how to keep his family together and deal with her at the same time. Edward wished that Crystal had stayed in New York and never returned to Forks. Now he wished that she would just leave Forks. He didn't care where she went.
He had made it to the mountains behind that house in no time and was just about to cross them, when he heard Bella's thoughts needing him to come home. "Oh, Hell," He thought to himself, "what is so important that she was drop her shield to call out to me" He didn't know but he was about to ignore her, with the way things were going. He turned around and ran at top speed back to the cottage. He immediately went into their room to find her.
"What's wrong Bella, love?" He asked seeing the concern and pain in her eyes. Edward hated to see her like this. He never liked it when she was unhappy.

Bella was so happy Edward came home. More than anything she needed him right then. She wrapped her arms around him and breathed a sigh of relief. Things were going to be okay, she knew the would be, but things just had her worried.
"I'm sorry if I called you back from something important," she apologized. "I just needed you right now. Everything around here is making me crazy with all the family problems with Crystal and trying to plan Nessie's wedding on my own without Alice. And I know that all of this family drama is getting to our daughter, so I was thinking that Nessie and I should take a week trip to New York, just mother and daughter. I know that you don't like to be away from us for long, but I think that both Nessie and I need time away."
Bella hoped that Edward would say yes so that she and Renesmee could get away from all the family drama. She knew that it was taking a toll on her daughter greater than anyone could imagine. Every night for the past few days, she had cried herself to sleep with Bella standing by, helpless. She knew that Renesmee needed time to just relax and had been wanting to go to New York for years now. This was the time to do it.

Edward was never happy to see Bella upset, but was much more. He wrapped his arms around Bella protectively and kiss the top of her head. "Nothing could ever be as important as you love." He told her holding her close. Edward knew exactly how Bella felt about the family issues cause he was feeling it to. As Bella spoke, Edward understood what she was wanting and tensed up. Bella was wanting to take Nessie and leave for a week to go to New York, just the two of them.
All Edward could think of was a week with out his wife. In all the years since that ill fated day in Italy, Edward had never been away from Bella for more than a day and never for more than a few hours since she had joined him as a vampire. Edward was not sure that he could survive a week without her. However, Edward had never and would never tell her no to something that she wanted. He would suffer through the agony of a week without her if she wanted this. He looked down into her eyes and kissed her. When he pulled away from that kiss, he smiled his crooked smile at her and said, "If that is want you want love, then I could never refuse you. I will miss and wish you were here every day, until your return, my beloved." Edward knew that he was not exactly playing fair, but he hated it when they were apart.
Edward knew that he actually had plenty to do with planning Nessie's honeymoon for Jacob. Bella and Nessie's absent also gave Edward and idea that he need to run be his brothers. He knew that this week would give him the time that they needed to find Will and the Bella and Nessie would be safe so that he would not have to worry about them. Edward picked Bella up off of her feet and kissed her again, with all the longing that he felt with her leaving.

Bella hated when Edward tried to use his crooked smile and sweet talk against her. It made things far too easy for him to get her to do anything, not that she minded that much as she loved Edward with all of her heart. She knew that the week of separation would be difficult on her as well, but she also knew as a mother that her daughter needed the time away from all the melodrama of their family. Renesmee had been devastated when Alice left the family, so this trip would help her take her mind off of it.
"I know you'll miss me, but I will miss you just as much while we're away. Nessie needs this trip more than I do and as a mother, I know what will help our daughter," she said as Edward picked her up and kissed her. "Besides, you can spend some quality time with Jake and your brothers, especially Jasper. He needs some brotherly help."
Bella knew that Alice leaving had to take a greater effect on Jasper than any of them knew. She wanted to reach out to her brother, but didn't know how without lashing at him for causing Alice to leave. Bella knew he wasn't the whole reason, but he had played an important role in her decision. Her heart told her that Jasper was hurting far more than they knew as well. Alice was his whole life and had been for over a century.

Edward listened to Bella and knew that she was right about Jasper. With Alice leaving Jasper would need help. However, Edward was still slightly mad at Jasper as he was part of the reason that Jasper was leaving. "I am not sure that I can be around Jasper right now, love. I know that he is hurting, but he brought it on hisself." Edward missed his little monster of a sister and was not going to forgive Jasper for his part in her departure. Edward tried not to think about Alice as he missed her to much.
Edward look down at Bella and finally said. "I know that you and Nessie need this time, love. Go to New York and get your minds off of the things here. We will be fine for the week, and I will be waiting for your return." He already knew what he was planning on doing while she was gone and knew that when she found out she would be upset at him, but she would forgive him.

Bella understood exactly where Edward was coming from. She missed her best friend so much and could hardly stand the fact that she was gone. Alice had been the very best friend Bella had ever known, immortal or mortal. And they had no clue when she was coming home.
"I understand," she replied. "But I'm sure that eventually Jasper will come around and see how stupid it was to side with Crystal over Alice. And thank you for understanding that Nessie and I need this time."
Certainly Jasper had guilt over what he had done to their family. After all, he could feel their anger and emotions of intense longing for Alice to come home, especially coming from Renesmee, who had not spoken to Jasper since Alice's departure from the Cullen family. Bella could understand her daughter's anger entirely.
"When we get home, things can begin to regain some sort of normalcy and maybe Alice will see sense and come home," she said with a hint of hope in her voice.

Edward hoped that Bella was ready about thing going back to normal. Edward was tired of the drama in their lives. He almost laughed as he spoke then. "I am not sure that things will ever be truly normal again." He smiled at her then. He was still trying to get his head around everything that had happened since their return.

Bella chuckled a little, "Since when has anything ever been normal for us?"
It was true. Nothing had been normal about their lives since she and Edward met. First of all, she was human and he was a vampire. That was never going to be a normal relationship, no matter how they tried to spin it. Then there was their daughter, half-human and half-vampire. Then their beautiful daughter was engaged to a wolf, so absolutely nothing about their life was really normal. But since when did they care about normal?
She kissed his lips lightly and looked into his eyes, which were golden and comforting like always. Resting her forehead against his chin, she sighed. Going to New York was the best thing for her and their daughter.
"You know," she mused playfully, "when I get home from New York, we're gonna have a lot of time to make up for."

Edward smirked at Bella's statement about when she got back. He leaned down to kiss her again and playfully asked. "Who says that we have to wait until you get back?" He kissed her and lefted her up to carry her to the bed. He was going to give her a proper goodbye, and make sure that she knew that he would miss her.

Bella smirked at her husband's playful banter. She knew that he was in a relatively good mood now because he was being very sexy. Lately, that was a rare thing for him since their family was going through some very rough patches. Her lips locked with his and remained there as they reached the bed. Literally seconds later, their clothes were on the floor and they were locked in a passionate embrace.

A while later, Bella lay completely content in Edward's arms. She knew that while she and Renesmee were away, she would miss her husband more than anything. Never before had they been apart longer than a few hours since their marriage and her transformation. Leaving for an entire week was going to be total chaos on the both of them, but she knew that he was no more than a phone call away if she could not handle being without him.
"I love you," she whispered, looking deeply into his serene eyes.

"I love you too." Edward responded to his beautiful wife, looking into her eyes. He also knew that it was time for her to go. He got up pulling her with him and went to the closet to put on fresh clothes. "Enjoy your trip and hurry home to me." He said to her as he watched her prepare to leave.
