Jasper crouched behind a rock, his eyes watching a mountain lion looking off into the distance. The beast was mostly likely hunting for himself. Jasper gave a smile at the thought that the hunter was about be to hunted. The beast moved a few feet to the left, his ears pressed against his head as he eyes wildly scanned the darkness in front of him. Jasper heard some slight movement ahead of them and knew that there was something in the distance. The beast noticed this too and froze trying to locate the exact spot. Jasper knew he could not wait much longer, he was starving. Rushing towards the beast Jasper grasped its fur before sinking his teeth into it. The hunger was not completely washed away but he was satisfied. It did not take long before he was done with his meal.
It was then that he heard the noise from behind him. Standing up he rushed towards it. That was when he heard a growl. He stopped dead in his tracks remembering the threat that had be in Forks for a while. If this was one of them he certainly did not want to take it on a lone. Feeling something brush past him he darted towards a tree and jumped up on a branch. His eyes scanned the ground below. He swore if this was one of those stupid mutts playing games with him he was going to rip their head off regardless if Jake would care or not. Which he was pretty sure he would. Jasper had already been having trouble focusing on much of anything with the recent attacks. The threat had not gone away and that meant that his family and the rest of forks was still in danger. Jasper let out a snarl before he heard whatever it was go darting off into the woods below. It was sending a message, it was challenging them.
