Alicia awoke in a panic, sweat rolled down her left temple and she pressed her tiny lips together as she tried hard to keep from completely losing it. She had the oddest feeling she was being watched and she slowly turned to look out her bedroom window as a dark figure began to take shape as it inched towards the house. Alicia reminded still and tried will all her might to figure out what this figure could be, she was not for sure she was truly awake or not. Picking up a flashlight near the bed and quietly get up from here bed she put on a coat that was hanging on her bedpost. Alicia although still young in looks was much wiser and a little braver as the days went by it would not be long before she out grew her toddler like features. Alicia was even puzzled on her bizarre growth spurts; she was defiantly not much of a toddler as the days turned into months.
Alicia was frightened but at the same time she was getting very tired of having to wake up scared as her bizarre dreams got crazier by the day. She licked her lips as she slowly closed her bedroom door and tiptoed to the front door with her flashlight in hand. Opening the door slowly so her mother and father could not hear, Alicia peeked her head outside and tried to focus on the figure that was now a few feet from her porch. It was if this small figure had known that it was spotted and was waiting for the young girl to come out and greet it. “hello?” she whispered as she held her flashlight up. She shielded herself with the partly opened door as she tried to get a clearer look at the creature before approaching it. there was nothing but slight movement and a low growl as the small shadow turned and ran back into the forest. Alicia was puzzled but at the same time she knew that there was a reason for this uninvited visitor. A shiver shot down her spine as she remembered the dream with the wolves. As Alicia eyes rose to the sky she was thankful it was not a full moon, ever since her strange dreams she often hated nights when the moon was full and bright.

It had been an exhausting week at the Black household with Alicia waking up with a few night terrors almost nightly. Renesmee had been up and down with her daughter almost every night, keeping her calm from the visions she kept having in her sleep. She couldn't help but feel helpless as she had no idea how or why these visions were affecting her little girl, but she just wanted some answers. For a while, she had thought about talking to Alice about them, but had never had the opportunity to do so because everything had been so busy lately. Everyone had been bustling around since she and Jake returned from their second honeymoon to Isle Esme, so there really hadn't been time.
Renesmee woke with a start, looking over at Jacob, who was asleep on his side of the bed. Sighing deeply, she laid back against the pillow and looked around in the darkness of their bedroom. After a couple minutes, she heard a tiny voice from outside of the house and shot up from the bed. Without a second thought, she knew that it was Alicia. Every mother knew the sound of her child's voice without having to think twice about it. She immediately got out of bed and went to the front porch where Alicia was standing with a flashlight. "Oh sweetheart, what are you doing out here?" she said, kneeling next to her child. "You scared mommy when I heard your voice."

Looking at her mother, wearing an expression of disbelief she took a deep breath before apologizing. “I’m sorry mommy.” She said as she began to cry slightly partly because the reality of danger began to set in with her. “There was something outside and it was watching the house, I came out to see what it was. I know I shouldn’t have.” She said blurring her words together because she was talking so fast. With this she clung to her mother’s side burying her tear stained face into her leg. “ I had another dream.” She said as she began to shake remembering it. “But it’s ok, it’s not a full moon, they only come out on full moons. I don’t know why they would come here now. it’s not a full moon.”
Alicia could only assume that the night visitor had been someone that she had been dreaming about. As far as she was concerned it was considered a threat not only to her and her family but the rest of forks. She wanted nothing to do with these night strangers or a full moon. But she knew she could not avoid these things forever.

Jacob stirred uneasily in his sleep, he blinked open his eyes just as his wife darted from their bedroom. Just then he heard the conversation of his daughter and wife from the next room and jumped up immediately. He heard Nessie's calming voice ask what Alicia was doing up and on the front porch, then he heard the tangle of emotions come from within his daughter and as he entered the room he listened to what she was saying about another dream she had. Something, or SOMEONE had been out side their house. This was not ok with Jacob. He felt his face burn in agitation at this mystery person and paused long enough to comfort his daughter with a big hug and said "I am proud that you were brave enough to come and check, but the next time this happens, please come and tell Mommy and Daddy. I'm going to go and take a look around and see if there is anything still out there, ok Sweetie? There's nothing to be afraid of, after all, I'm The Big Bad Wolf…if they are still out there they will have to answer to me. " He hoped that this small play of words would be silly enough to comfort his daughter and let her know that he would do absolutely anything to protect her and her mother. He gave his daughter another hug and a kiss on the forehead, and gave a subtle, sideways glance to Nessie. It was a "you-both-need-to-stay-inside-please-look" and then he silently slipped out the front door. He stole quickly into the shadows and as quietly and quickly as possible stripped off his clothing , phased and darted into the shadows just a few yards away from their house.

Renesmee watched as her little girl started to cry from being so scared. Automatically, she bent down and comforted her daughter as she babbled on about having another nightmare and something about them only coming out on a full moon. Renesmee couldn't be entirely sure, but she could sense that someone was nearby and that whoever it was was definitely a danger to her and her baby. When Jacob came outside, she eased a little and knew that he would protect them, but the worry was still there. As Jacob hugged their daughter and promised it would be okay, she reached down and picked Alicia up and placed her on her hip. Looking over at Jacob, she nodded when he gave her a concerned look before going back into the house.
Sitting down on the couch, she placed Alicia in her lap and started rocking her like she had when Alicia was a baby. "It's going to be alright sweetheart," she promised, kissing her daughter's head softly. "Mommy is here and so is Daddy and neither of us would ever let anything happen to you. We will always take care of you and make sure that no one ever hurts you." Renesmee was at a loss for words. She had never thought anything would start to come after her or her daughter, but she had known this had happened once before when she was a baby. The Volturi had come to destroy her, believing she had been made a vampire instead of being born half-vampire and half-human. But this, this was totally different and she knew it. A sense of dread settled in as she kept rocking her baby girl back and forth on the couch.

As both of Alicia’s parents comforted her she was able to breathe a sigh of relief. She felt safe wrapped in the arms of her mother and her father reassurance was all a little girl could ask for. When her father vanished she felt a little anxious for him not knowing what all her would be running into if it was indeed out there. “Do big boys turn into bad wolves?” Alicia finally asked. “How about big girls?” she said looking up at her mother. Lately two children had been added to her wolf dream a long with a man and red haired women that happened to turn into wolves at a full moon. “When is the next full moon?” she said looking up at her mother with wide eyes.
“Is Daddy going to be ok?” she said after about a minute of reflecting on the danger he might encounter outside of the house. Alicia was sure he would be safe, she always thought of her father as a strong and unstoppable man but the fear was still there.

Renesmee held her daughter softly, rocking her back and forth and humming lightly to keep her little one calm. The situation was stressful enough without adding the fear of a child to it. She knew that Jacob could handle the situation and would come back in a few minutes once he had scanned the perimeter for any signs of danger. He was a good husband and father, protecting both Renesmee and their daughter with every ounce of strength he had. That, among many other reasons, were why Renesmee loved Jacob with all of her heart. Being married to him just made things that much better. For a few moments she allowed her mind to wander until Alicia's voice brought her back to the present. Looking at her daughter as she asked so innocently about big boys and girls becoming bad wolves, Renesmee felt her heart drop. Her daughter had seen something and she knew it.
"No, no sweetie," she reassured Alicia, looking into big brown eyes, "big boys and girls don't turn into bad wolves." She knew that Alicia wasn't aware of her own family history or that her parents were a shape-shifter and a half-vampire. That had been one of those things that they didn't feel the need to tell her just yet, since she was so innocent and young. However, she knew that they probably couldn't avoid that conversation for much longer, especially after Alicia asked when the next full moon was. "It's not for several more nights princess." Renesmee's heart dropped when she realized what her daughter was talking about. The children of the moon... she thought and knew that it was serious. "Daddy will be just fine," she reassured Alicia again. "He'll be back in just a few minutes. You'll see."

Placing her tiny thumb in her mouth she listened to her mother soothing voice and reassurance that everything was going to be fine. Alicia mind was racing with questions; she wondered what kind of thing had come to visit the house. Her father was out there searching for it now and she hoped that he would find it and get rid of it; Alicia hoped also that the full moon would never come. Despite her mother’s reassurance she was scared to death of full moons due to the vivid dreams she had been having. “Can I walk with daddy outside?” Alicia finally said looking up at her mother innocently. In a way as much as Jacob was her protector Alicia was his as well. “We can all walk together outside and be very safe.” Alicia said trying to convince her mother.
Alicia was not sure how her mother would respond to her questions but she hoped with all her heart that she would allow Alicia to be with her father to make sure nothing was going wrong outside. Alicia cared about her parents too much and the thought of losing them to wolves that were pure evil frightened her despite the fact her mother had reassured her that they were not real.

There were about a million things rushing through Renesmee's mind at that point in time, mostly worrying about her child and her husband. She knew that Jacob could take care of himself, but it still didn't quiet her worries as a wife. That was just part of the job description she signed on for when she fell in love and married him. And the worries of a mother? Also part of the job. Holding her daughter close, she felt the tiny rise and fall of Alicia's chest and knew that she was safe in her arms. But when she asked to go walking outside, a huge lump settled in the pit of her stomach and she knew that it was not safe to even go outside. She had promised Jacob, without words, that she and Alicia would stay inside the house while he patrolled outside. She was not going to go back on her word.
Looking at her daughter, she smiled gently. "Sweetheart, I promised Daddy that we would stay inside the house," she said slowly and sweetly. "You know how protective Daddy is because he wouldn't want anything to happen to you or me." Inwardly, Renesmee knew that it wouldn't pacify her daughter to just sit and wait. She was too much like her father in that way, impatient and not wanting to sit on the sidelines of anything. Taking a deep breath, she picked up Alicia and carried her over to the window where she could see outside. "Here...we can stand right here at the window and wait for Daddy to come back. You can see almost everything from right here." She hoped that this would at least give Alicia something to do while they waited for Jacob.

Jacob scouted around the house for about 10 minutes. He wanted to make sure that whoever was out there was really gone. He kept in close proximity to the house and picked up a scent. He had never come across this smell before and made special care to memorize it and store it in his mind to share with the rest of the pack later. Curiously he followed the scent, but not for long, because it led him farther and farther away from the house, and his girls. He made one more quick circle around the house and then headed back.
While still in wolf form he made his way closer and closer to the house, circling it once or twice more, just to be on the safe side of things. He really wanted to be with his girls again anyways to comfort them and let them know that whatever, or whoever it was had left. He slowed down his pace to a slow trot and made his way across the front lawn. He was just about to phase when he remembered that his clothes were in the bushes. He trotted over and slipped into the bushes, phased and then popped his head up out of the bushes as he pulled on his shirt and boxers again. He then walked quietly and quickly up the front walkway and hopped up the stairs, gave one final glance around and then entered his house. At first, all he could think of now was wanting to set up a search team in the morning along with the rest of the pack. But he pushed that thought from his mind because all he really wanted to do was be the comforting voice and shoulder to lean on for his strong wife, and brave daughter.

Alicia was pleased when her mother allowed her to at least look out the window. She was still worried about her father but this was at least a little more comforting to see some of what was going on outside knowing her father was somewhere out there. Her eye caught something in the distance; it seemed to be circling the house. Strangely enough she was not scared but rather fascinated by what she was seeing going on outside. The wolf’s pace slowed down and it enter some bushes nearby. Alicia continued to stare in utter fascination; it was not until her father’s head popped out of the bushes was her interest peaked even further. It did not take a while for her to put two and two together; she was a lot smarter than most kids her age. Turning to her mother with a confused expression she looked at her. “You said big boys and girls don’t turn into wolves, but do daddies?” she tilted her head slightly as she waited for her mother to reply.
Alicia was beyond interested, she was almost thrilled. She remembered her dream with the good wolf, and the stories her mother told her about the princess and the wolf. Things were starting to make sense to her now. Maybe it was all code for some kind of secret she was about to uncover.

Standing at the window of the living room, Renesmee looked out into the night and saw Jacob in his wolf form circling the house and surrounding area. At first, she thought nothing of it until she realized that their daughter was watching him...with curiousity. After a moment, Renesmee remembered that Alicia had also had dreams about good wolves in the past as well and she had told her a fairy tale story about the princess and the good wolf, which was actually her and Jacob's story. She instantly cringed for a moment when Jacob disappeared into a bush, knowing he was about to phase. Knowing that Alicia would see, regardless of if she tried to turn her away, she just stayed put. They had known, from the moment Alicia was born, that there would come a time to explain the truth of their family to her, but Renesmee had never expected that conversation to come so early. There would be no avoiding it now that Alicia had seen and put together what her father was.
When Alicia turned to her and asked, she couldn't deny her daughter the truth any longer. Alicia already grew at an excellerated rate not normal for any human child not only phsycially, but mentally as well. Before she said anything, she heard Jacob come into the house. Looking at him, she picked up Alicia from the window sill and placed her on her hip before walking over to Jacob. "There is something Daddy and I do have to tell you," she said gently to their child. "But I promise that you don't have to be scared at all. It's something that makes our family special." She knew that she would have to find a way to explain everything to their child. It was difficult enough explaining what they were to adults, but the innocence of a child was almost worse. "Daddy is a good wolf, princess. He protects people from the bad wolves and other things out there," she said softly. "And Mommy's family...like your Aunt Alice, they're...well, they're vampires, but the good kind. They don't hurt people at all. Mommy is one too, but only half."

Alicia’s eyes grew wide with amusement as her mother explained to her the family history. Her father was really the good wolf she had been listening to story about along with seeing in her dreams. Alicia was not too sure what to think about the rest of her family being vampires but she could tell in her mother’s voice that there was nothing to really worry about. Pressing her lips together before giving a smile she looked up to her mother with wide and wondrous eyes. “Can I turn into a wolf too?” she asked entertaining the thought of running through the woods with her father. “Am I special too?” she added thinking that this family history was not one that was shared among many people. This had to be something very abnormal.
Alicia looked up at her father with loving eyes knowing he was the wolf she had felt comfortable with for the longest time. “I want to be a wolf with you, daddy.” She exclaimed with delight clapping her hands together. “Mommy what can you do as a vampire?” she said turning her head up towards her mother once more. She was very intrigued by how everything was unfolding and was looking forward to learning more about her rare and very special family.

Jacob stood like a statue as he saw Nessie give him a worried glance, saw her pick up their daughter and walk closer and closer to himself. She began slowly and gently as any mother would in situations involving the innocence of their child. She explained in a shortened version to their daughter about her "family's heritage," so to speak.
Jacob could only guess at what made this conversation come up in the first place. His daughter had seen him in wolf form, and now needed an explanation. He watched his daughter's expression turn from fascination, to contemplation, and then to excitement. The next thing he knew she burst out with the question of if she could turn into a wolf too, and if she would have anything special about her. To Jacob, she was already special, every centimeter of his heart beat for Renesemee and Alicia, but there was no way to express to either of them how much he loved them and how extravagantly special they were to him. His heart melted in pure satisfaction as his daughter said that she wanted to be a wolf like her daddy. The excitement in her voice escalated again as she asked her mother what her powers were as a vampire; and once again Jacob was amazed and in awe at how smart his daughter was, and she wasn't even quite a year old yet.
Jacob decided to answer these questions for Nessie, he gave her a loving look and then turned to their daughter and said,"Sweetheart, we don't know if you are a wolf yet or not, that is something that won't show up until you get older. But for now, you seem to be showing signs of being more of a vampire. You are already so very special, and we love you so very much." He paused her for a few moments before continuing, just to let what he was trying to explain sink in to his daughter's understanding. "Some vampires have special powers, and yes, your mother is one who does. She can show you pictures in your mind of her memories with just the touch of her hand. Its really very cool!" Jacob absolutely loved it when Nessie would touch him and share her thoughts or memories with him, it sent chills to him whenever her thoughts and memories coincided with his because it just proved, time and time again, that they were made to be together and just engraved the fact that they loved each other unconditionally.

Alicia looked at her father with a smile. The news about her strange yet special family excited her, she knew that she was not the average normal child because of her family history and this was amusing to her because she was just than grasping how rare it really was. “How am I more like mommy?” she asked innocently looking a Jacob. “Can I be like mommy and you?” she wanted to share her parents traits more than ever, but at the same time she knew that her parents would love her regardless. Her mind raced to Alice. Alicia was reminded how she felt like she had a special connection with her. Of course she was still unaware that they shared the same ability to have visions although hers seemed to be more commonly appearing in her dreams.
Alicia began to think about her dreams, and pieced the puzzle together in her mind. If there really was such things as good vampires and wolves, than there must be the chances of the evil and more violent kinds out there. She assumed this was the thing she had been fearing and having visions about. “Is the red haired women a bad wolf?” she asked timidly. “ She changes into a wolf when the moon is full.” Alicia began to wonder if that was who had stopped by the house, but she could have sworn that the creature took on more of a child-like shape.
