“What kind of adventures did they go on?” she said. “I like the wolf prince and the little girl; I bet they went on all kinds of adventures.” Alicia tried to picture to two heroes of the story in her mind. She had a very creative side to her, and often her imagination would run wild. “Did the wolf prince protect the girl from the bad wolf who changes into a lady?” she said as she began to picture herself as the little girl in the story.
Alicia looked out the window and saw a few deers in the forest and smiled. The sunlight was shining on the flowers just at the right angle to make the yellow of the flowers almost golden. She looked back up at her mother as she waited for her to finish the rest of the story.

As they drove toward Port Angeles, Renesmee could tell that Alicia was enamoured with her story as she asked about the adventures the wolf prince and the little girl went on. Renesmee didn't need to tell her daughter just yet that the little girl in the story was herself and that the wolf prince was Jacob. That would be another story for when she was older. She knew that Alicia saw herself as the little girl in the story and the wolf prince was just someone of her imagination. Just before she could continue her story, Alicia threw in a question that alarmed Renesmee once again. She knew that this lady that changed into a wolf was probably the woman from her daughter's dream and her visions. She was becoming alarmingly worried about this woman from the visions.
However, she kept a calm demeanor so not to alarm her little one. "Yes sweetie, the wolf prince kept the little girl safe from all harm," she replied. "And the adventures they went on were grand...he would take her to all the prettiest places like waterfalls and meadows." Renesmee thought back to her childhood, before the move to London, when Jacob would take her everywhere. He would phase and she would climb on his back and off they would go. She had always loved when they would stop in a meadow and she would slide off his back to play. During those days, he had only been her friend. But now, now he was her husband and the father of their beautiful daughter, whom they both loved so dearly. "And while they were in the meadow," she continued, "They would play for hours until it was time for the little girl to go home to her mommy and daddy."

Alicia smiled as her mother continued with the story. She was very pleased as the pictures that flashed through her mind. Especially since Alicia felt safe from the red-haired women that she would often see. Alicia pictured herself running around in meadows or looking at beautiful waterfalls. She laughed with pleasure at the fact this story was bringing her so much joy. “What did the wolf and girl look like?” She thought for a moment before asking another question. “If the wolf is a prince, than, who would be his princess?”
Alicia was very content at the moment. She felt safe, happy, and very glad she had the chance to spend time with her mother. A thought about Alice popped into her mind; she was standing around with several other people, taking just outside the house. Something told her that the concerned faces were the results of the red-haired lady. “Alice is taking care of things, she getting her friends to help keep the wolf lady away. You don’t have to worry anymore.” she reported not knowing the truth to the things she was seeing.

Renesmee kept driving as she listened to her daughter in the back seat. She always found it amusing how little ones asked so many questions because they were curious and wanted to know everything and anything there was to know. In fact, she knew that she had done the exact same thing when she had been Alicia's age. Her parents had obliged her just as much and told her almost everything she ever wanted to know. As they neared Port Angeles, she slowed her speed and drove into the town. "The little girl had precious curls and chocolate brown eyes, just like her mommy. And the wolf prince was a russet color when he was a wolf, but when he was human he had bronze skin and dark hair, with kind eyes," she said, describing the characters of her 'story' to Alicia. "The wolf prince didn't have a princess until the little girl grew up and then she became his princess forever."
A few moments later, she heard Alicia slip into a trance again as she spoke of Alice and taking care of the "wolf lady" so she wouldn't have to worry anymore. Renesmee knew that she had to speak to Jacob and Alice in the very near future because she was concerned about the visions her daughter was having at this alarmingly fast rate. She knew that this was something big about to happen, but she would not scare her daughter with it. Pulling into a parking spot, she turned around and smiled at her daughter before getting out and walking over to the other side of the car to unbuckle Alicia from her carseat in the back. Picking her up and placing her on her hip, she simply kissed her temple and shut the car door.

Alicia placed her thumb in her mouth while smiling at her mother as she kissed her on the head. Alicia was sort of quite, but her mind was still thinking about the story and her dream. “I liked your story.” she said finally. “It was a very good story. Tell me another one.” She said with a smile. Alicia was excited to shop but at the same time she was very fascinated by her mother’s stories. Alicia enjoyed picturing the stories as they come alive right in front of her eyes because of her wild imagination. Alicia would often have very memorable dreams because of this trait.
As Alicia waited for her mother to take her to the first store, Alicia looked around her environment to get a feel for everything that was happening around her. she was starting to act sort of shy not being very familiar with everything, but she felt safe by her mother’s side.

As they began their walk down the town's main strip, Renesmee kept Alicia on her hip as she carried her. It was always easy when you never got tired or could feel the weight of a child, so Renesmee would never have to put Alicia down if she didn't want to walk. She listened to Alicia ask for another story. She was a curious child and loved to listen to fairy tales and things that would spark her imagination, so Renesmee was happy to feed that imagination. As she walked on the sidewalk, she began to think of another story to tell her daughter. "There once lived a soldier, who lived a very long time ago," she began as they walked into one of the many shops that lined the main street. "And he fought for his country very bravely. He was just seventeen when he entered the Army, but he soon found his way to a commanding position by the time he was twenty."
Renesmee browsed through some of the clothes racks that were in the front of the store that were all children's clothing, knowing Alicia would need some new winter clothes in just a few weeks if she continued to grow. While looking, she continued her story. "Well, this soldier found himself trapped by three vampires that were not very nice...not like our family. They made him a vampire and taught him the ways of war and bloodlust...but he did not like that life." Renesmee paused to let all of the information sink into her daughter's ears. She knew that Alicia wouldn't make the connections yet, but in the future she knew that she would think back to the stories she was told and realize where they came from.

“What happened to him?” Alicia said with wide eyes. “Was he trapped to live that life forever?” Her small fingers brushed against a button up jacket, and she outlined each button slowly, trying to picture the young soldier in her mind. Renesmee continued to shift through various children’s clothes as Alicia’s imagination began to run wild. She pictured the vampires, with glowing red eyes, almost animalistic in their ways surrounding the brave and young solider trying to fight them off as hard as he could. She pictured his reaction to his new life and his desire that things could be different.
Suddenly Alicia got pale, and a small drop of sweat rolled down her forehead as a vision appeared to her. She tried hard to fight it off with little success. It was of the red-haired women but this time she was not alone, there was a boy with her. They were both talking, Alicia could not make out the words but every once in a while she would catch them saying Fork’s. Finally Alicia was able to shake off her trace, she grew silent, but afraid she would only worry her mother, and her-self more she pretended that things were fine. Alicia smiled at her mother and gave her a hug, she was a still a little shaken by her vision, but she tried hard not to let it bother her. “What did the Soldier look like?” she said trying to force a smile across her face. Alicia tried to refocus on the soldier and the three vampires once more.

Renesmee smiled, knowing that Alicia was now intrigued by her new story. Even though all the stories she told were true, she knew that they were only imaginary to her daughter. "The brave soldier had to live with the three mean vampires for almost a hundred years," she said as they browsed through the racks of clothing a little more, finding a couple of things for Alicia that she knew her daughter would need later as she grew. Looking at her daughter moments later, she saw her slip into another vision. This one caused her to worry, but she knew that she would talk to Jacob about it later and figure out how to approach the visions until they could really tell their daughter what was going on with her. That would be a conversation that Alice would definitely have to help with as she had visions as well.
When Alicia came out of it and gave her a hug, she knew that it was over for now. Instead of asking about the vision, Renesmee jumped right back into the story. "The soldier was blonde and tall, very good looking and strong," she said, shifting Alicia from one hip to the other so should wouldn't get bored sitting on one side. "But he finally got away from the mean vampires and went far, far away so he wouldn't have to see them again." Renesmee knew that this was the G-rated version, but she didn't want to frighten her daughter. "And then he met someone very special who showed him that he didn't have to hurt people to survive."

"And then he met someone very special who showed him that he didn't have to hurt people to survive." As soon as Renesmee spoke these words Alicia eyes grew wide with excitement. “Who did he meet?” she asked. Alicia smiled and waited for her mother to reply, she was extremely fascinated by the story that her mother was telling her. Alicia tried to picture the brave soldier fighting off the vampires and then running into the mystery person her mother had yet to reveal to Alicia.
Alicia’s mind to her father, she missed him and was starting to get excited about the surprise her and her mother would be making him once they got back from their shopping trip. Alicia knew that her father would be more than happy to not only see the cookies, but to see his little girl and his lovely wife.

As Renesmee finished browsing, she walked out of the store and into the next one over to look at some things to pick up for Jacob. Some of his clothes were getting rattier from phasing so much lately, so she knew he would need some new shorts and sweats soon. Walking into the store, she looked around to find exactly what she needed. "He met the woman of his dreams," she replied to her daughter's question about who the soldier had met. "They found each other in this old diner in a city where he had travelled to for no real reason. She'd been waiting for him there because she knew he would come." Renesmee smiled at Alicia as she walked a little further back into the store where the sweatpants were to pick up a few pairs in black, blue, and gray.
Quickly paying for the shorts and sweats, Renesmee walked out of the store and back to the car to deposit their treasures from their excursions. She decided to continue the story a little more for Alicia's sake. "When he saw her, everything just felt right so they left together and found a family to live with that could teach him how to be good," she said, placing Alicia on her feet and stooping down to her level so she was eye-to-eye with her daughter. "Now, how about we go get some ice cream and then we'll go home and make Daddy the cookies for later?" She knew that the prospect of sugar would immediately win her daughter over, just like Jacob. After all...like father, like daughter.

As soon as her mother mentioned the words “Ice Cream” Alicia’s ear perked up and a smile spread across her face. “Yay! Ice Cream!” she said clapping her small hands together. She was more than thrilled to be able to eat not only ice cream but to be able to bake cookies. It was going to be the best day of her life, she declared silently in her head. As soon as Alicia decided on what flavor, and toppings she wanted mentally she asked more questions about her mother’s story. “Where did the two vampires go? The Soldier and the women her met?”
Alicia thought some more and then asked another question. “And what was the not so bad way for him to live?” She said trying to figure out the answer. “Did her eat ice cream instead?” she asked in an awed whisper.

A giggle escaped Renesmee's lips as her daughter's face lit up at the sound of ice cream being mentioned. It was exactly the reaction that she expected from Alicia and she was glad to share these moments with her. Taking her hand, they started to walk down the street and Renesmee continued to answer her questions about the Soldier from her 'story'. "The Soldier and the nice woman he met left and went to a small town in Alaska, where they met a family that took them in and made them a part of their family," she explained as they walked on the sidewalk toward downtown Port Angeles where the ice cream parlor was.
"The family taught him how to live on animals instead of people, kind of like our family does," she said as they reached the door of the parlor. "But the Soldier had a harder time switching to his new life because he had lived his old life for so long, but with the help of the nice woman and their new family, he was able to stay good. He even married the nice woman he met in the diner." Renesmee bit back a small hint of regret, knowing who she was speaking about and how their relationship was now. In her heart, she knew that they still loved one another, but didn't know how the relationship could be mended. She brushed those thoughts away as they approached the counter and she looked down to her daughter. "So, what kind of ice cream do you want sweetie?" she asked, picking Alicia up and placing her on her hip again so she could see the choices.

“Strawberry ice cream with sprinkles.” Alicia said pressing a finger to the glass and pointing to the pink bucket of ice cream. Alicia watched as the ice cream man scooped a few scoops of ice cream for the boy in front of her. She thought about what it would be like to own an ice cream store when she got older, she figured if she ever owned one she would be able to eat all the ice cream she wanted, and make so many other boys and girls happy. " Can i get it in a cone?" she said looking up at her mother.
Alicia smiled when the man’s eyes met her and her mother. she knew that shortly she was going to be getting her ice cream and she could hardly wait. Alicia clapped her hands with delight once more before smiling again.

As they stepped up to the counter, Renesmee heard her daughter's requests and nodded in reply. The man at the counter asked for their orders politely. "We'll need a strawberry cone with sprinkles and then a small bowl of hot chocolate ice cream please," she replied. The man behind the counter smiled and filled their orders, sending them down to the woman at the register to pay for them. Renesmee put Alicia down on her own two feet to pay for their ice cream. The woman at the register looked down at Alicia and smiled before looking back to Renesmee. "She's adorable!" the woman gushed. "How old is she?" Renesmee smiled back at the woman. "Thank you. She's just over two now," she replied. It was just easier to lie to people than explain and reveal their secrets.
Taking their ice cream, Renesmee looked over to find a seat for the two of them to sit together, finding a booth in the corner. "Come on sweetie," she said, walking at a slower pace so that Alicia could keep up and look like a "normal" toddler walking after her mother. She momentarily stopped and grabbed some napkins to take with them to their booth. When she got to the booth, she sat down and scooted over so Alicia could climb in next to her and get her ice cream cone. This was a rare treat and one of those days where Renesmee was so very glad she was a mother and could enjoy this with her daughter.

Alicia began to eat her ice cream cone and smiled as she thought about how amazing it was. With each lick she began to savor the strawberry flavor. Alicia looked up at her mother and smiled again, silently saying thank you for the treat she was now holding. Alicia was so focused on eating her amazing treat, that she barely even said much of anything to her mother. When Alicia was finally done she asked for another story to pass her time. “Can you tell me another story?” She said with a smile. She placed her tiny hands on both cheeks and propped her head up as she looked at her mother.
As Alicia waited she tried to figure out what kinds of things her mother was going to tell her in the next story. She had really enjoyed the stories that she had heard all day long and knew she would not be disappointed with the next one.
