Mikaela walked down from the terminal where she had landed a few feet before she noticed a man waiting with a sign that had her full name on it. She laughed to herself, knowing it was going to get her in trouble someday that she had told Jackson her full name, but didn't expect that to be so soon. When she approached the man, he introduced himself as Daniel and was to escourt her to the hotel where she would be staying. When she arrived, Daniel instructed her to be as ready as possible by 10:30am when her clothing would be delivered. She nodded and thanked him as she got into her room and settled in with a few things to pass the time between. Walking out onto the balcony, she watched the sunrise over the horizon, which was beautiful in its own right before retreating inside for a while to read.
She read through most of Pride and Prejudice before glancing at the clock, which read 9:30am. Shutting the book, she walked into the huge bathroom and drew a bath to freshen up before she was to be ready. Using some of the scented shampoo, she washed and conditioned her hair as she would when she had been human. It was purely habit now, but something she was so accustomed to. After that, she stepped out of the tub and blow dried her hair before curling it to fall down her back. All she needed now were her clothes, which were to be delivered to her at 10:30. Right on cue, there was a knock at the door. When she opened it, Daniel was waiting and handed her a box. She thanked him and shut the door. Setting the box down, she took a deep breath and began to think about what was happening.

Jackson fidgeted with his bowtie for some time while Daniel went next door. It was a quick trip for him and he was back in just a few moments. As he stepped back into Jackson's room Daniel asked out of curiosity, "So, what exactly was in the box?" Jackson smiled broadly and said, "Well. It's kind of hard to explain, so I'll just tell you what I did. I bought her a dress, placed it in the box. Then, I covered it with tissue paper, and sprinkled tons of red rose petals on top so that it was completely covered. Then I placed a note on top of that and tied it with a ribbon." He was so proud of his creativity that he had forgotten to ask Daniel to make sure he kept the box laying flat. He freaked out for a second and after Daniel had reassured him that he had handed the box horizontally to Mikaela, Jackson settled down a bit. He didn't want his creation to be all jumbled up when she opened it. Then Daniel asked him what the note said and Jackson was able to quote it to him by heart. "It said: Since I have traveled across the world multiple times for you already, and you have done the same for me, I wondered what would happen if I were to ask you to do that with me for the rest of eternity. I know this is a HUGE step for us both, but I believe that we slammed into each other for a reason. And now the only reason I keep moving is because it allows me to get closer to you. I know that this is very unorthodox, but... Mikaela, I love you. If you would like to play this game for the rest of eternity with ME then please put on this dress and come downstairs into the Chapel and take your walk down the aisle. Love, Jackson Tate Conner." "Damn, you wrote all that?" Daniel asked incredulously after Jackson had finished. Jackson just nodded his head, and grabbed the rings and handed them to his "Best Man" as he headed downstairs to take his place at the alter to wait for his lovely bride to be…or so he hoped. Mikaela looked at the box tied with a beautiful ribbon. She wondered what exactly was inside, knowing it was some sort of clothing. Looking down for a moment, she stood and walked over to the box, untying the ribbon before gently lifting the box lid. Inside were hundreds of red rose petals lining the top where a note was placed that was tied with a ribbon. Gently, she lifted the note from the box, watching a few petals fall from the top before opening it. Inside was a letter in Jackson's handwriting. Mikaela sat down to read it, as the words flowed across the page. Since I have traveled across the world multiple times for you already, and you have done the same for me, I wondered what would happen if I were to ask you to do that with me for the rest of eternity.
Love, Jackson Tate Conner.Words could not express how Mikaela felt in that moment. Jackson had proposed to her in the sweetest way imaginable in her mind. And even though her heart had not beat in over forty years, she felt as thought it were racing. Setting down the note, she sifted through the rose petals in the box until her hands reached the soft fabric of a dress. Lifting the dress from the box, she was astonished by how beautiful it was. It was perfect; exactly how she had always dreamed as a little girl. Removing her robe, she slipped on the dress and zipped up the back before going to stand before the mirror. Twirling around, she felt like a little girl again, trying on her mother's dresses. But this time, it was her own dress. For a moment she paused before grabbing a red rose from a nearby bouquet to pin in her dark curls for contrast. Once that was done, she was ready. Taking one last look in the mirror, she knew that this would be the day she would always remember for her eternity. An eternity she was glad to spend with Jackson each and every day now that they were together. Sliding into a pair of white heels, she walked out the door of the hotel room and descended down the stairs to where she saw Jackson waiting for her with his friend Daniel. She knew that if she had been human, her cheeks would have been ablaze with blush, but it still felt all the same as she walked gracefully down the stairs. As she walked down the aisle, she knew that she wished her parents could have seen this, but that they were watching from wherever they were now. When she reached the front, she smiled at Jackson and mouthed "I love you." to him. This was it. Here and now. Never again would she be alone. Jackson inhaled sharply as soon as he saw his "blushing" bride walking down the stairs. This sudden pain in his chest was not an unbearable one, in fact, it was a pain that he welcomed. This "pain" was really no pain at all, it was an intense feeling of love, and it wasn't until after their time behind the waterfall that he realized what it was. She walked slowly, and gracfully, and beautifully towards him and he couldn't believe that his impulsive plan had worked, and that she was actually saying yes. He had put his heart on the line and she took the bait. She now had his heart and he now had hers, and in a few moments they would be forever bound.
Forever...that word used to be daunting to Jackson, but now that he was going to be spending forever with Mikaela he welcomed the feeling of forever, and didn't want it any other way. As she neared him he could tell that she was as nervous as he felt, but was reassured when she mouthed the words, 'I love you.' to him. He smiled, probably the goofiest smile ever, but he didn't care, this was honestly the best moment of his entire existence and he didn't care who knew it. He took her hands and held them tight. He winked at her and recriprocated her words with, "I love you, more..."
The minister then took charge and began the ceremony. It was certainly short, sweet, and to the point because it seemed like it was only moments later that he looked at Jackson and said, "You may now kiss the bride." He smiled, ear to ear, once again and followed the minister's orders. He slid one hand around her lower back, and one hand behind her head and pulled her as close as he could. "Amazing..." He thought to himself. He was still in a shocked blissful state while he hoped that he wasn't just dreaming of kissing this breath-taking woman who had moments before just said, "I do" to him.

It was all too surreal for Mikaela as she made it to the front of the aisle and stood before Jackson and the minister. Her heart would have been racing if she were human, but the feeling remained the same regardless. Jackson looked dashing in his tuxedo and even more so as he grinned from ear to ear and reciprocated her I love you with one of his own. Before another word was said, the minister took control and began their ceremony. It was short, but full of meaning to Mikaela as she knew this bound her and Jackson forever, through good times and bad and no matter what would come their way.
As the minister declared them husband and wife and said, "You may now kiss the bride," Mikaela felt Jackson's sure and steady hands slip behind her back and the other to her face to bring her as close as possible before his lips met her own. Hearing his thoughts, she replied with her own that she projected into his mind. Simply amazing...I love you with all my heart. A few moments later, she brought their kiss to an end and looked into his eyes, glowing amber with excitement and joy. "I am yours, forever," she whispered and pressed her forehead against his. In that moment, Mikaela felt all the happiness she had ever felt since becoming a vampire. Nothing else equaled this moment in her mind, not even her human memories, which were few. Jackson had become the best part of being immortal.

She took him by surprise by suddenly streaming her thoughts into his head after he had mentally noted how he felt about kissing his WIFE. Since the beginning of their "game" they had both been forbidden to use their powers and he had temporarily forgotten that part of her power. However, Jackson sighed audibly as she told him that she was now his forever, and leaned her forehead against his. His goofy smile now seemed a permanent fixture on his face and he said, "and I love you with all of mine...and ha, you're stuck with me for the rest of forever."
He reluctantly stepped back, and took her by the hand. Daniel punched him on the arm and said "Congratulations you two love birds, you know Mikaela...He planned this all by himself, and yes, I'm surprised that it all went off without one problem." Jackson just rolled his eyes and replied, "Gee, thanks...best-man that was such a good speech...NOT." He laughed and turned back to Mikaela and said,"Alright, Mrs. Conner, what now...would you like to continue our game or pause it for a while and see what's going on in Vegas?"

Mikaela could hardly believe she was now a wife and that the man standing in front of her was her husband. She had waited her immortal and mortal life for this exact moment. She was totally in love and there was nothing in the world that could ruin this moment for her. "I would have nothing more than spend the rest of eternity with you," she replied and kissed him quickly once on the lips before he turned to face his friend Daniel, who replied that Jackson had thought up the entire thing on his own. Her heart swelled with pride at that knowledge. Jackson was the best husband in the world as far as she was concerned and she could not wait to spend each and every moment with him for the rest of her immortal existence.
Hearing him ask if they were going to continue their "game" or go out to see Vegas, she grinned and could not help but kiss his cheek softly once more, especially hearing him call her by Mrs. Conner, which was now her name. Looking down for a moment, she felt her grin grow to a full-fledged smile. "I think we should go to our last destination," she said and leaned in to whisper something only he could hear. "Besides, I just want to be alone with you...this last destination is the prize." Leaning back from her husband, she winked at him. This was going to be the best part of their adventure that had started out as a game and ended in a marriage.

Jackson's eyes got wider, and his eyebrows began to arch...now that he knew the "prize" was near it was all he could do to contain himself. In his head he thought "Alrighty then, last leg of the game....honeymoon!? What are you waiting for?! Now if I remember correctly you once told me something along the lines of 'the sooner I go...the sooner you can come find me' So, say it again and be gone….off with yas!" He smiled coyly and kissed her lightly on the lips. Taking in a deep breath of her scent he winked at her and jokingly said out loud, "Alrighty, now you go on ahead, and I'll catch up with you later...I mean, soon, dear."
The minister smiled, raised an eyebrow, and turned around and walked out of a side door. While Jackson turned to Daniel and said, "Well, now, I get the pleasure of waiting exactly 6 hours in this crummy hotel until getting to chase after her again…" He shook his head and plopped down onto a near by pew waiting for her to leave so that he could start watching the clock.

With one last kiss and a parting message, Mikaela took off running toward the nearest hotel in Vegas. Projecting one last thought to her husband, she smiled. I love you and can't wait to see you on our honeymoon... Leaving him with that thought, she ran to the airport and stopped at the counter, purchasing two tickets. The first for herself and the second for her husband. She gave the second ticket to the woman at the counter with the instructions that he was not to look at the destination and to give him the note she had written. A broad smile spread over her face as she took her ticket and went to board the plane. As she sat down, she thought about the letter she had left for Jackson.
My dearest love,
I cannot wait for you to arrive where we are going to start our lives together. We can do anything we want together. I cannot believe that we are together forever, but there is no one else I would rather spend my life with. I love you and cannot wait to see you when you arrive.
Love Always, Mikaela
The plane landed some sixteen hours later and Mikaela bolted straight for the nearest resort where she could get a private cabin for herself and Jackson. As soon as she had everything set up, she went into town and got a few more supplies that she would need, including candles and some clothing for herself and Jackson. Once that was taken care of, she went back to her cabin and slipped into something more comfortable. Her heart would have been racing by this point, but the feeling was still the same. Everything was beautiful and ready. All she needed now was her husband. And he would be arriving in a manner of hours. She had everything set up. Someone would pick him up and bring him to the cabin where she was waiting.

He smiled as he heard her think, "I love you and can't wait to see you on our honeymoon... " Jackson sat down and began to pout about having to wait to chase after his wife, and as he did so, Daniel said his goodbye's and told him congratulations one last time before he headed out the door. Jackson watched the clock for hours, so very intently, and then stood up and stretched as his watch told him that he now only had 2 minutes before he could begin the last part of this game. He couldn't wait to see his "blushing" bride. The emptiness that he noticed inside himself when she was not near was starting to really agitate him and it was all he could do to restrain his impatience.
A short run later, and after about 15 minutes in line he finally received his note, and his plane ticket. A few moments later they called for his ticket and was able to board. He watched as the people filed in after him and hoped that he wouldn't get stuck next to a smelly old guy. Fortunately he didn't. Unfortunately, he did get stuck sitting next to a smelly old woman...who unleashed a belch that was so horrifically smelly that Jackson was glad, especially once he caught a first whiff of it, that he technically didn't have to take breaths. He was, however, still shocked that the old frail looking woman could produce such stank. 'O well, I'll just pretend to go to sleep..." He shut his eyes and hoped to heaven that the lady next to him wouldn't let something out of the other end. About three-fourths way through the flight he figured he may as well pretend to be human, he excused himself and went to the bathroom. As he walked back he looked at his watch and sighed. He really couldn't wait to get off of this plane, needless to say, he was even more excited to see Mikaela.
Finally they landed, and he headed out the door, into the airport, and then followed someone outside and into a car that was waiting. The car finally pulled up in front of a cabin looking building, and as he stepped out of the car he thought, "23 hours, exactly." He thanked the driver and sprinted to the door. His hand shook as he slowly reached for the door and pushed it open. He cracked it open just enough for him to poke his head in and take a look around.

As Mikaela waited, she started a fire in the fireplace and lit some of the candles, placing them around the cabin in various spots to set the tone and mood for when Jackson arrive. Had she been human, her heart would have been racing over two hundred beats a minute by now in anticipation. Part of her was wondering if she had really just gotten married, but when she looked down at her left hand to see a ring there, it solidified that thought in her mind. She was married to the love of her existence. Never before had she met someone like Jackson, who was sweet and sarcastic at the same time, but also genuinely caring and adoring. Her parents would have really loved him too, had they been given the opportunity to meet him. Mikaela thought of her parents' relationship, how loving they had been to one another and she hoped that she and Jackson would always be like that to each other no matter what their circumstances were. As she waited a while longer, she sat down on the couch near the fire and thought some more about Jackson. Everything about him both fascinated and excited her, from his quick witted comments to his thoughtfulness. And then there was his undeniable good looks with his amber eyes and dark hair. There was something irresistable about him that Mikaela couldn't quite put her finger on, but she knew that she loved him. A small smile spread across her face in the dim light of the fire and candles around her as she thought more about her husband. And just as she truly wished he was there, her wish was granted as his scent hit her. He was nearing the cabin and she felt her smile broaden as she stood up just as he poked his head into the cabin. A split second later, she was standing less than an inch from his face at the door, greeting him with a soft kiss on his cheek. "I thought you'd never make it," she whispered as she pulled him in the door and shut it behind him. His body was used to the cold. So he knew the snow outside wasn't what had just sent those exhilarating chills down his back. It was his wife. There she was, inches away from his face, while the rest of him still stood outside the door. For a moment all he could do was stare. Then she kissed him on the cheek, and pulled him inside. In response to what she had just said all he could say was, "Uh huh…me either."
Still only inches away from her he moved nothing but his eyes to take her in. Her scent was so much stronger to him now, and his gaze went over her quickly from head to toe, then he looked her over once more, this time slowly, and from toe to head. Her sleek and toned legs looked longer, the curve of her hips was more pronounced, and her skin looked even more porcelain and beautiful, all because of what she was wearing. His eyes lingered a while longer on her simply stunning body, and then he finally looked her in the eyes, all the while, thinking and saying nothing.
He pursed his lips slightly and raised one eyebrow. He set his things on the floor, and took off his coat and threw it to the side. Then he started to walk around her, slowly, as if he were really inspecting her now. He allowed his left hand to reach out and trace her curves, up her left side, across her back and then down her right side. He cleared his throat and said, "Well doll-face…I'm all yours now." he finished walking around her and stopped when he was right in front of her, put his arms around her waist and lifted her off the ground and stole the perfect kiss.

Mikaela had never been nervous before in her entire life, at least in the way she was now. She was more exposed to Jackson, mentally and physically, than she had ever been to anyone else before. No one saw her the way he did or loved her that way either. As she watched him look at her, seeing how exposed she was, Mikaela knew that if she were capable of blushing, her face would be a bright shade of crimson by now. However, she remained calm and collected, as if none of it phased her. She thanked her lucky stars that she she was the one who could read minds, otherwise Jackson would be getting an earful of girly thoughts that pertained to how she felt in that moment. But, nothing compared to the feeling she had while looking into the eyes of the one she loved with all her heart and every fiber of her being as a woman and vampire.
As she watched him throw his coat aside, she smiled slightly and bit her lip anxiously. He walked around her slowly, causing Mikaela's mind to race, but when his hand touched her, everything went wild within her nerves. His steady hand traced her curves from one side to the other effortlessly, while smoothly declaring that he was hers now. Stopping in front of her, he picked her up and kissed her. When she broke their kiss a moment later, she looked into his eyes and smiled genuinely. "Yes, you are mine now and forever," she said softly. "And I never want to lose you either." Leaning down, she kissed him again and placed her hands on either side of his face, tracing back around his neck. She knew that this moment would last forever for them because they lived forever. And that is just how Mikaela wanted it to be.
